Not at all.

Akira advised him not to go too far alone. Wherever Akira meant "wait for me" or whether he meant "don't go alone", Virgil interpreted this as "keep someone with you". A sensible suggestion - danger may lurk ahead.

Akira has now left to deal with other matters, and Ash has asked to accompany Virgil. Virgil has accepted her offer, and is heading in, asking her to follow behind him.

... aaand now I'm just realizing that Akira perhaps intended to come with. Is this sudden realization correct?

If Akira wants to come along, I can make a short edit near the start. Still will have Virgil entering the door, but in a way that we can chalk it down to him being impatient and antsy. Maybe an offhand comment of "don't take too long" as Akira parts.

That could work, you can also head off with Ash alone if you prefer, just saying he'd have to ignore Akira for that...

Sidenote - Virgil's spiky-bits aren't really needles in any conventional sense. I believe they look more like horns than barbs or fine needles. At a guess, they're more suited for goring and tearing than clean puncturing. But then again - I don't know what element of needles Akira is afraid of, so he could still be afraid of that for all I know.

Akira is afraid of most pointy things clearly made for hurting? Although needles are the worst, he's also uncomfortable around things like horns or even ice picks/slim knives. Thorns and barbed wire are also not a favourite.

Just to update those who'd already read my post: I did a little edit at the begining to make Elizabeth's interaction with the door more specific. It's a little thing.

Also, InsanEleven Elizabeth will probably try to figure out what the writing on the door is, the paper door and puzzle would be more appealing to her, because of how her mind works. She probably will agree to go the 'easier' route once she really feels like her time is running out, if that makes sense
