Welcome to The Calling’s character creation section! Instead of a traditional cs I’ve decided to do things a little differently this time around. Of course, if you want to create an entire sheet that’s fine as well! The main details that are required are name (or alias), age, gender, appearance (irl face claims or written description only), abilities/drawbacks, divine relative, and vision.


This is a roleplay centered around various deities from different pantheons so I’m trying to give those that apply as much creative freedom as I can, while still seeing who fits within the roleplay best. Please do your research when it comes to cultures you aren’t familiar with and be mindful of overpowered characters.

  Yasmín is a girl well acquainted with a hard day's work. You'd expect someone who so thoroughly to her core was born from the ocean, from the mother of the seas, to be as relaxed as the beach's idle waves and go with the flow. Yasmín is, in fact, the opposite. She's always in motion, stubborn, and sometimes prone to tunnel vision. When she creates a goal, she lets nothing get in her way to accomplish what she desires, but that does not mean Yasmin is heartless or cold. Sometimes, it feels as if she's too full of love - she has no where to put it down, and carries it with her everywhere she goes. Many can attest to the girl's good natured attitude, always available to help whoever needs it, almost an older sister to all. Much of her life has been spent working on sailboats alongside her father and other seafarers, and when she's not on a boat, she's taking care of her mother.   Born in the little seaside town of Barraca, Peru, Yasmín's earliest memory was watching the blue line of the ocean's horizon ebb and flow alongside her home.
  
  She has been close to the water her entire life. It was always a source of comfort for her, strong and unmoving, a true force of nature. Her childhood was spent at sea. If she wasn't on her father's small sailboats, fishing for their dinner, she'd be working on the large fishing vessels with him, pulling out nets full of fresh catches each day. Everything else came second to her; school, relationships, anything. The sea called to her, a siren's song that she simply couldn't resist. Her mother always snapped at her to finish her schoolwork, or to focus on the things that mattered, but Yasmin knew that the water was her home.
  
  If you ask folks from her hometown about Yasmín's gender, many would give you a shrug. It simply did not matter - not in an uncaring, harsh way. They watched her grow up and make her village proud. But Yasmín always knew she was a girl, and regardless her childhood was never disciplined with strict gender roles. She was given the space to explore her identity, lean into whatever felt right, felt normal for her. As she got older and puberty loomed, that was when her parents raised the questions of What do you want to do? Should we look into any options? By thirteen, Yasmín began hormone therapy, and that was that. It never got in the way of anything, though a major factor there was the fact that she grew up in such a small town - it took a village to raise a child, and that could be seen everywhere in Barranca.
  
  Life could only be so idyllic and peaceful for so long. As much as the ocean was forgiving - the healing of water - it could be an unrelenting force as well.
  
  She had been aboard a fishing vessel when it came, freshly eighteen years old and still as stubborn as ships against the current. It had been a miserable day's work; the sky had been pouring rain since they began, and the girl was soaked down to her socks. The other workers on the boat loudly protested, begging to go home, insisting that the sea was too rocky to continue working. It wasn't long until a particularly hard wave hit them, sending deckhands flying as the ship's wooden exterior loudly protested, before another, and another, and another. They soon realized it wasn't just the ocean - something was hitting them.
  
  Through the spray of salt water and haze of clouds, Yasmín saw it.
  
  Bleached bone white, with disgusting ridges and scales and many a scar over its long form, Yasmín saw the serpent slither through the water and around their boat, its length probably three times over that of their ship. The leviathan reared its ugly head and bellowed an unearthly screech.
  
  Before Yasmín could reach for her father, the vessel was capsized. They were thrown into the freezing waters with her waterlogged clothes to drag her down, and the net she had been gripping now tangling her arms. The panic had seized her for a moment as she sank deeper, and deeper, until she realized she could breathe. Knowledge flooded her mind with a sense of calmness and understanding. Yasmin was able to make it to shore, and the town considered it a miracle, given that the twenty other crewmates either died or could not be found. That was the day her father died.
  
  Her mother, and their town, were left devastated. What was once their source of life had now become something to be feared. There was little left for them. Her father had been their only source of income as well, and Yasmín worked as much as she could to keep them afloat until her mother found work. After her father's death, her mother sat down and had a very long chat with her.   ✧ Hydrokinesis ; Yasmín has the ability to control water and manipulate it to her will, though this is still a muscle that she is learning to flex. She hasn't had luck moving large bodies of water just yet, but she's getting there, and is able to pull water and moisture from unlikely sources as well such as flowers or juices.
  
  ✧ Aquatic Respiration ; Yasmín is able to breathe underwater, truly making her a fish out of water. There's no gills, no bells and whistles to it; once Yasmin submerges herself underwater, she's able to breathe just fine. It's an eerie feeling, but the more she does it, the more easily it becomes natural.
  
  ✧ Mariner's Blessing ; What some might consider an odd ability, but one that Yasmín has found out quite recently. She's able to cast a blessing over boats, ships, and fishing vessels, as well as the men running them.   enhanced strength, being a demigod Kobby's strength is impressive. Ta Kora is symbolized as an imposing large warrior with immense strength. He is known as one of the most powerful deities within the Akan Pantheon. This immense strength has translated well to Kobby. Who maintains a peak physical form.
  
  military strategies, most deities of war desire bloodshed, death and destruction. Ta Kora despises Owuo, the god of death, and refused to work with him. Therefore Ta Kora displayed enhanced military strategies to avoid as much death as possible. It's truly a different mindset. Kobby displays this leadership mindset, and understands enhanced military strategies as though it's second nature. Unless of course Kobby's anger gets the better of him.

  Kobby has a natural weakness to nature based defensive affinities (earth manipulation.) An overall distaste for death and meaningless destruction, which he battles with given his anger, and controlling his lightning manipulation in water is impossible. His lightning manipulation can become sporadic at times. He has an anger issue at times, this anger issue voids all general reserves he has and gives into his inhibitions as a god of war offspring.

Or if they aren’t acting smart he’ll even approach a situation with a humorous blunt approach. Unafraid to call an individual stupid if the situation, to him, calls for it.
  
  Willing to be the support to those that’re driving to better themselves, and always willing to judge a book by his own analysis. Never letting someone shift his overall mindset. However he can be vindictive if you’ve harmed him, or a friend of his. If his mindset about an individual has already been created, it takes a lot for him to re-evaluate his analysis on the individual.
  
  Kobby does have an anger base as well. When it unleashes, his thoughts are out of the window and he eliminates any general reserves he initially had. Only thinking about destroying the particular cause of his anger. The demigod of war is birthed within this anger that he attempts to suppress.
