(It's not like I care for this particular country girl...) she thought to herself. But deep down, Suomi wanted to trod the path that no others would. That was to take on the challenge before her. To go out of her way to persuade this little brat, was something she did not think she would do, but here she was, alas.

Suomi's eyes met Rae's, as she pitched forth her voice, but ultimately adhered to the silence. It was true, Suomi did not feel the need to care for a total stranger, let alone her recent speech. But seeing those that she cared about come and go, Suomi despised those feelings. The lancer's own family had cast her aside since a young age, and with it a certain feeling of self-invoked melancholy. These feelings had morphed into something else completely as time went on. While cared for by her parent's servant and hand-picked tutors, Suomi had only seen her father and mother's face only once a year. Those that she shared a bond with were gradually replaced, at the behest of her nomad-like life. Even within the confines of Versa's palace, she was constantly on the move, with no chamber to call home. From lessons to training sessions, Suomi deemed herself as a lifeless puppet that would fulfill the Libre's purposes. When Raimi had uttered her concerns for home, it filled Suomi whole, as the prior was one to have something to fight for. But to the lancer, she has yet to find her own, as did her reasoning for stepping forth as she did to convince Raimi's stay.

The archer's confidence for stepping up to herself had ignited a certain flame in Suomi's heart. Accustomed to the usual nod of her servants, this was certainly a big change to see someone standing up to her like that. As she reflected upon these thoughts, it had come to the attention of the young noble that she had gained insight into these feelings. While estranged, Suomi was keen on having the archer around. For some reason that she could not translate into words, perhaps she felt it necessary to reach out to Raimi. But to Suomi, she had thought it necessary to bolster the Blue Rose's ranks, given the Guild's established rumors.

"This guy..." was the first thing that came to Suomi's mind, as she diverted her gaze towards Varimal. While he did have his ways of irritating her with his brash words. But beneath it all, there was a certain truth to what he said, despite in huge contrast of what the lancer perceived. When he mentioned the homeless, Suomi could only look away with a certain gloom in her eyes. It was true, through what she have seen throughout Zuiya ever since her departure from Versa. Perhaps with time and dedication, this would change. One could only take a step back and give what they could for the future. Honor and need, as Varimal coined it, was something of little relevance in her endeavor to persuade Raimi to stay. Rather, it was the fires in the young archer that caught the lancer's heart. There was an indisputable drive to it, and perhaps one that had grasped Suomi's interests. Surely, there are others that could replace Raimi's stead, but Suomi had viewed this as merely no different than those in charge of the exams. It is easy to mark a person off just because of their reluctance, but to Suomi, like Kline had said, the archer has potentials. For the lancer, Raimi's potentials were that of an untapped mineral deposit. While she was reluctant to aid the Guild's cause with a quick dismissal to dispatch home with haste, Suomi could sense a certain curiosity, and perhaps longing to be a knight. These feeling were biased at best, but only with time, would Suomi's sentiments be proven true or false.

"Even a rough stone can be of use, given time." Suomi said to Varimal, as she turned away towards the sunlit windows.

Dwelling in her silence, Suomi leaned back, all the while eyeing the various individuals that began to show up - particularly a girl with wings that addressed everyone as human. It didn't take long for Suomi to take notice of the mage's eyes that were directed at her. A mage, as she would call the figure, given their unarmored attires.

"This is indeed the Blue Rose Guild. I am Suomi Ebril. Who might you be, little lady?" Suomi addressed.

Varimal's felt the pressure of the prana, but he didn't let it show that it affected him instead he put a small smirk on his face as the Kline laid into the others. He decided not to get on any leaders bad sighs but he wasn't going to let anything faze him. He nodded at Suimi's statement a hint of a smile ghosting over his face. "We shall see, we shall see."

To Raimi he said softly. "I have no need for that." No longer did he care to spend his families money on trivial useless things. None of this registered on his face as his face took on a bit of a mischievous smile at the arrival of so many new guild members. It was going to be a challenge with this group of mismatched bunch of people. What would this guild have an identity.

He turned to Lecia lazily and smirked. "I'm sure vacations will be their first concern for us. Staying alive would be nice eh? or perhaps dying and leaving this cruel world. Also Raimi, I'm sure you can sell things in a more private venture. Don't let the capitalism come off too strongly. Make good connections first." then internally he bit his tongue, why had he given away that he knew about salesmanship. He held back a sigh in anticipation.

Empty Table

Ringo drank the last drop of water from her leather flask. While the others were trying to convince the green hood girl to stay, Ringo spent her time eating in silence after her initial question. She ended up eating every single foods on the table by herself. The breads, the fruits, the jams, the cereals, all gone into the bottomless pit that was her belly. She was surprised by herself but decided not to do anything with it, hopefully nobody notice the missing foods.

The building was soon filled with more and more people, each with their own quirks. This place looks sooo random now. She heard most of the other guild had some sort of 'theme' or something that they have in common, but this guild?

"Guildmaster." She raised her hand to draw the attention to the horned man that. "I come here for the fame and money. I don't see any of that now, but I'm sure you have a plan for that. How about telling us more about our job?"

[div class=header]Welcome to the Blue Roses (Iunius 9, 146) - NIGHT 1 [/div][div class=maintext]

The sky is now painted red. The wind is blowing gently and the air is beginning to cool across Zuiya. Locals are preparing for the end of a good days work.

Earlier that morning, Kline appeared in the Parlor with three slips of rustic paper in hand, an intricately designed pipe resting between his lips. After a few puffs, he flattened the sheets on the table and called everyone over. Normally, guild members could choose the quests they wanted to participate in but the first few weeks were always special. Newbies were always confused and he knew that. That didn't mean the man didn't hate explaining stuff though.

After naming the guild members and their designated quests, he went into some minor details he felt were necessary to ensure they all remained alive. "Gather your things and only the necessities. You can always stop somewhere and get something if you truly need it. You should all leave tonight so you can arrive by morning. Teamwork is important. If you feel like you're about to die, it's because your guild member is letting you." Kline took a moment to eye everyone and ensure he got that point across.

"You'll all be taking airships since Raimi doesn't have time and since it is to see if this lifestyle is right... for any of you." After handing everyone small pouches of riel for their trips to and from, he said one last thing before dismissing everyone. "You all are on your own now."

* Assume that Kline hasn’t told anyone about the Mystery Members.

Quest information is vague. This gives room for everyone to add to it (i.e., I'm not going to give you every detail. I want you to mold things because your choice influence the story). Try to avoid anything majorly political. If you need assistance, maybe these questions will help.

- What materials does the doctor need exactly? What creatures lurk in the Autumnguay Woodlands?
- What exactly are the pirates doing? How do we deal with them? How do we approach them?
- What's in the sewers? What problems is it causing? Why are the townspeople so bothered?

NOTES & GOALS
Check the quests under the lore thread for more information. If your character hasn't prepared already, do so. Meet somewhere and begin travelling or whatever. Feel free to make camp or continue questing upon arrival (again your choice!). Keep in mind that creature life is far more active once the sun has set. There will be an event(s) possibility. Feel free to bring in NPCs and other stuff you deem appropriate, etc.

Time will move differently for each team from now on. This means it depends on everyone's writing and progress. Under NIGHT posting, we will not pass 5 AM (Or around there. Just don't get too far ahead). Once everyone has found a nice spot for stopping/transitioning, I will officially begin DAY 2.

Raimi Charlotte
Market -> Parlor

Not for the first time since arriving in Clarmont this year, Rae stared wide-eyed and open-mouthed in wonder at the items newly developed since the last time she'd come to town two seasons before. She stood just on the border between the city's trading district and its welding district, in front of the Iron Legion's guild hall which, in addition to housing the guild, also displayed weapons and tools crafted by the guild's smiths for knights, mercenaries, and warriors of all kinds to buy for exorbitant prices.

The objects of the huntress's admiration were a set of obsidian arrows with sharp, barbed heads and golden runes etched all up and down the shafts. They were odd in that, unlike normal arrows, which were made of three separate parts--a wooden shaft, a metal head, and bird feathers at the end--these arrows were of one piece, except the feathers. The shaft and point were both constructed of the same night black metal, as if the arrow had been sculpted into shape out of a larger block of the stuff. There were three separate arrows displayed, each with different colored feathers fletched into the back of the shaft: red, blue, and yellow. "Elemental arrows!" the sign below the display declared. The arrows with red fletchings would set whatever they hit on fire, the ones with blue would freeze targets solid, and the yellow would run a current of electricity through objects they hit. Raimi thought they were the coolest things in the world; she couldn't count the number of times she'd hit an animal while hunting in a non-vital spot by mistake, only for it to limp away before she could nock another arrow. With weapons like those, even a non-fatal strike could incapacitate an enemy long enough for her to deal a true finishing blow. She thought she'd like the shock arrows most of all; the fire arrows or the ice arrows might accomplish the same task, but they'd cause much more pain and discomfort for the animal she hit. Raimi wasn't out to hurt anything any more than necessary. The shock arrows, on the other hand, would just leave them unable to move their limbs for some time, rather than causing any unnecessary pain. That didn't mean she didn't want the fire arrows, of course. She couldn't think of a very practical reason to have them, as she could the shock arrows, but sometimes a girl just wanted to set things on fire.

She didn't know how it worked; an Iron Legion smith tried to explain it to her when she first saw them, though a lot of the explanation went over her head. It was something about using those runes to gather piranhas from the air and change their elemental affinities to suit the arrow's type. Cutting edge stuff, she was told, though she'd thought piranhas were dangerous fish from way down south and she had no idea what they had to do with arrows. Apparently, the arrows were crafted out of a special metal that was recently discovered and mined in a faraway country. It was both lightweight enough to be aerodynamic, but still magically conductive enough to gather the pirhanas from the air and hold them inside of itself until the arrow's point was lodged inside something (which confused Rae endlessly, though she nodded along sagely as if it was all perfectly common sense). It was this new special metal that made these arrows possible to create at all. Raimi would have killed to get a chance to try those puppies out for herself.

What dampened her enthusiasm for these sleek little babies, as it always did, was the price tag beneath each arrow. It cost 200,000 riel for a bundle of fifty of either kind of arrow, or 500,000 for a single quiver of 150 arrows, 50 of all three types. A normal bundle of 150 arrows cost less than a tenth of that. Selling the crops for a year of harvest on her family's farm, plus all the other odds and ends she sold, she made enough to cover the farm's expenses for another year--about 1,500,000 riel--which was more than the arrows cost, true, but not by so much that she could afford to buy any of these things and still have enough for the family to make it another year. Raimi couldn't imagine having so much money that you could burn that much of it all on one purchase. Being THAT rich was unthinkable as far as the provincial farm girl was concerned.

The huntress's wistful musing was interrupted by a sharp shove of her shoulder from the snout of the animal just behind her. The small, dark brown pony with a patch of white on her nose that she'd come into town with this year, Dancer--named for the way she shuffled her feet in place when she wanted to run--frisked impatiently behind her, eager to move on out of the busy streets crammed full of people on all sides of the pair. Her big, brown, expressive eyes locked pleadingly onto Rae's face when it was sure it had her attention. The poor girl was shy and wasn't a fan of crowds. With one last envious look at the arrows and a sigh of regret, Rae turned from the Iron Legion guildhall and led Dancer on down the road toward the Blue Roses' parlor.

The horse, along with the cart it was pulling behind it, were too big to duck into the back alleys to travel as she had on the way to the guild that morning. Instead, Raimi, much to Dancer's displeasure, was forced to trudge her way slowly through the streets thronged with people, heading home after a long day of work at the forge or in the market. The sun had already slipped beneath the horizon and the sky was transforming from the brilliant blue of the day to the darker hues of the early evening. Rae left the parlor that afternoon about an hour before sunset so she could retrieve her horse, cart, and personal effects from The Broken Antler, the inn she'd been staying in. She hadn't managed to yet interest anyone in the Blue Roses in any of her wares, but she'd make customers out of her "guildmates" before she headed home, she had no doubt of that. Kline told her before she left she'd be leaving that night on an airship for the port town of Carsea along with Tobin the Pervert and Ringo the Wolf Girl, so she'd have two days or so to wear at least those two down until they bought something. Or multiple somethings.

An airship! Raimi could barely contain her excitement. She always wanted to fly in one of those hot air balloons, but this was even better. She was going to look down on the world as the birds did, see life from their perspective. What would it be like to be so high up? She couldn't wait to find out. She just hoped there was enough light by the time she got on it to still see by.

By the time Raimi led Dancer into the Parlor's ramshackle excuse for a stable, it was already full dark, the moon shining bright in the sky. The place was so small and full of junk, there was barely room to place her cart. Without any light but that of the moon shining down through the high windows, it was nearly impossible to see anything either. She dared not light a torch for fear of setting the dry hay and wood alight and burning the Parlor down, and she had no lantern, so she was forced to proceed in the dark. This was an annoyance, but Rae was used to hunting at night by moonlight, sometimes, and so she managed to navigate by feel and by what little she could make out with her eyes. After some clever rearranging and piling of objects atop one another, she managed to make room for the cart.

Cart secured, Rae's next task was to settle in Dancer. The pony was tied to a post just outside while Rae made room for the cart. When she left it, the animal was calm and placid, happy to be out of the crowds, finally, but by the time she came back out, she was already impatiently prancing in place on her long legs, snorting and shaking her head at her partner in hopes of going inside to a nice comfortable stall where she could eat a feedbag of oats after her tiring voyage from inn to parlor. Unfortunately, that wasn't as simple as it seemed; she led the pony by its bridle to one stall after another, certain that at least one of them must be fit to hold a horse, but they were all in a terribly shabby state. Some of the stalls had broken doors, hanging on their hinges where they weren't completely torn off. Others had families of rats or bats nesting in them, each of which angrily squeaked or squawked at her before fleeing the stable through one of the many small holes in the ceiling or wall. Others still were full of more junk; chairs or boxes or tools for gardening that had simply been stored in here for lack of a better place to put them.

"Geez!" Rae exclaimed with irritation after the fifth stall proved uninhabitable as well. "The least that idiot Kline could have done was clean the dang stables!" Dancer snorted as if in agreement.

Well, if you wanted a thing done right, she thought with determination, there was nothing for it but to do it yourself. With a grunt, Rae felt her way back to one of the junk piles and found a bucket and a rake. Then she went to the least unhospitable stall, as far as she could determine that in the dark, and got to work mucking out the stall herself. There was a well to the side of the building, if she recalled, so she could get water from there and use that to help wash it out. Grrr...this shouldn't be her bloody job! And certainly not in the dark! Old, clumped-together hay that hadn't been changed in who knew how long took forever to pry from the floor, and traces of old horse manure took three trips to the well with her bucket to fully expunge. This was going to make her late to the airship if it took much longer! She was NOT missing her chance to ride in one and fly like a bird, not for anything! She growled again angrily and began scraping hay from the floor with her rake with such aggressive intensity she might have been trying to get it out by beating it till it retreated in surrender. The furious sound of her rake was punctuated only by the clip-clopping of Dancer's impatient hooves on the stone floor, frisking as the poor girl waited for her stall and bag of oats. "I know, girl," Rae murmured soothingly in the animal's ear to calm it while rubbing its neck affectionately. "You can rest soon." Then, with renewed vigor, she resumed beating the stall into cleanliness with the rake.

Rae's only solace through this whole ordeal was that after she sold the rest of her inventory, these "knights" and their dirty stables wouldn't be her flaming problem anymore.

Now why, she wondered with another frustrated growl, did that thought seem to make her feel more sad than relieved?

Night Post
Hunting Session

The wolf cub walked casually through the woods. His acute sense of smell was tracking down a particular potential prey somewhere around, a deer. By deer, he didn't mean the giant reindeer he usually hunt back in his birthplace, just the normal-sized forest deer.

His steps were light and silence, however when he finally found his prey. The deer already had its eyes on him. His stealth was failing him! But even then the deer didn't run when the wolf cub innocently walked around it, as if going to just passing by. His small appearance succesfully lulls his prey into false sense of security.

When the cub decided to unleash his true appearance, the deer seemed to sense it before hand and turned its back to run. It's just too late for the deer as enermous pair of claws buried itself deep into its body. The now giant wolf got his prey for today. He ate his food silently, saving the thighs last because that part was his favorite part.

Right after the wolf finished his meal. A girl in red cloak came down from nearby tree with a half-eaten apple on her hand. She looked at the deer's carcass that was the wolf's meal leftover.

"It's your third deer today. I guess you're full now. Let's go back."

True. Ever since they left Asken Belt he always eat more than one prey in each of their hunting session. The girl said it was because the animals here were smaller in size. Maybe she's right, he now feels like he understands more about why the girl insisted on coming here, there's just so much food around!

The wolf shrunk back to his cub size so the girl could pick him up and put him into her bag. The cub snuggled inside the bag looking for comfortable position while the girl lit her lantern to light their way. Time really pass quickly if you're enjoying it, right!

A line of hills that separate Far North from the rest of the region. The hailstorm there is even more dangerous than the one you can find pass it, preventing massive-scale expedition to be sent inside.

After Hunt

Ringo was excited for her first job. Airship! City! Sewer! She never been to any of this place. She wondered what kind of epic adventure awaits her!

The girl walked merrily towards the guild's building. As she approached the parlor, she picked some suspicious sound coming from the backside of the building. Sounds like something scraping against the floor... Is it a thief? No way, there's nothing to steal here. Still, Ringo draws her knife as she approached the sound coming from the rotten hut. She smell a horse inside too so it shouldn't be thief, right?

She held her lantern high up to spread more light into the rotten building when she realized the figure who had been aggresively attacking the floor with a rake. She didn't notice her smell because it was masked by the horse's!

"Raimu! Wow, you are so diligent?" Ringo said to the other girl as she sheated back her knife and approached her casually. She was amazed that Raimu is cleaning the stable even in the dark.

Tobin Han
location: Blue Roses' HQ

interactions: Raimi MagicPenguin MagicPenguin , Ringo Spoiled Bread Spoiled Bread

After Kline announced the quests and their respective teams, he dismissed everyone. Everyone had already introduced themselves so the young ninja felt no need to stick around. Instead of doing nothing, he opted to prepare for the trip ahead. An airship trip though... he wasn't quite sure how long that would take since he'd never flown in one. It wasn't as if he couldn't afford a flight either. It was the fact that most of his jobs required him to maintain a certain identity or complete requests in discretion. That meant he had to hide himself and anything besides footwork would've gave him away.

The man spent a majority of the blue sky in the market and avoiding people who attempted to hustle more riel out of him. One apple stand worker nearly through a fit when Tobin mentioned the stand in the street over offered a better deal, saying he could've bought three apples for the price of two. Of course, that was a lie but Tobin could tell the worker hated onlooking crowds and drama from the way he began perspiring from both underarms and forehead. At the end of the day, Tobin managed to snag 3 small apples, 5 beef jerky sheets, some crackers, and a small canteen for water. While it wasn't much, Tobin was trained to survive on very little. He could always get more supplies at Carsea anyways.

With most of the day having gone by in the blink of an eye, the ash blonde spent the rest of his time sharpening his hand-length knives. When he got back to the base, he sat his things next to a neighboring tree and began unhooking his weapons. There were approximately 4 knives of them on both wrists, each attached to a spinning dispenser that ran off prana. Two curved blades were hooked to one his left thigh while a simple array of poisons and potions rested horizontally on the other thigh. In addition, two swords as long as his forearms were rested against his back in a crossed fashion. After checking that each poison had its respective cure, Tobin began caring for each of his eight blades.

The sound of scraping filled the front lawn of the Blue Roses Headquarters. It tickled Tobin's ears in slight discomfort as he'd never enjoyed the sound of scraping tools or metal in general. It reminded him of moments in his life that he'd much rather forget.

It wasn't long before the sky was painted red and there was barely any life left for Tobin to sharpening his blades. Thankfully, he was nearly done and they were probably sharp enough to cut through the tusk of a boar. The corner of his lips lifted slightly at the feeling of flawlessness and he quickly began returning his blades to their respective homes.

With preparations complete, he thought to find the other two and figure out where they were in terms of readiness. It would be night soon so leaving within the next hour or two seemed the best decision. Fortunately, he spotted a light near the stables and noticed a furry animals shadow peaking from outside. The male Double checking didn't hurt though so he stepped into the shadow of the tree and emerged from the shadow provided from the dimly lit lantern.

"We should leave soon." Tobin stated simply, not really minding if he surprised anyone or not. Taking a look around, his nose scrunched up slightly at the sight and smell of the place. It was better than it was when he'd first explored the headquarter's lands. "You cleaned the entire place? Isn't that a waste of time for someone who might not stay? One stall should have been enough for your horse. It's not as if the rest of us have a stead either."

Varimal breathed heavily outward holding back a sigh, he would have to work with the lancer girl. Stuck up noble woman, then again who was he to judge for being what the world had made her? He could have very well turned out like that. Fair enough to pair her with him however, she was probably a close range sort of fighter, max medium close range against his long range and medium range preference in combat style.

He didn't know the other girl. Lilna. Could they trust each other to have their backs that was his question. Hmph well there was no time to waste, they agreed to meet up in a few minutes after they had the chance to grab their stuff. Varimal swiftly went back to his room and gathered up his supplies, slinging his rifle over his should along with a pack that was prepared for any emergencies or travelling situations. Carefully checking his ammunition and his pack, he made his way back out to the main area and headed out. It was time to begin heading over to the doctor's place to find out more about this. It was a perfect opportunity to gain some experience fighting monsters. Perhaps he could find something....

He saw the girls and motioned for them to join him heading out. Once they were out on the street, he began by asking them. "So what skills do you have that got you into the Guild?"

Raimi Charlotte
Parlor Stable

Ringo and Pippi's appearance was foreshadowed first by their soft footfalls in the doorway and then by Dancer's sudden wild-eyed stare and panicked panting at the sight and smell of the small wolf cub that entered just before its partner did. Ringo tried to say something to Raimi, but the young pony, previously calm, if somewhat impatient, was now terrified. Very, very terrified, and in a mad panic to escape from what it was sure must be certain death. She struggled to dislodge herself from the wooden post to which Raimi had tied her lead so she could clean out a stall for her. It screamed and reared as if there were a wild beast in the room about to make a feast of her. In an sudden panic herself now, Rae dropped her rake abruptly and grabbed the horse's bridle. She held on firmly to stop her attempts to jump and kick.

"Woah, girl! Easy there!" She put herself between the wolf cub and the horse, stroked her mane, and murmured soothing words in her ear about how Raimi was there, it would be alright. After minutes of coaxing, the pony finally calmed, though it still shied away from the tiny wolf pup.

Rae let out a relieved breath, the abrupt crisis averted. It made sense for the horse to be afraid of a wolf, especially with the dried blood on its muzzle and the scent of the woods on him after what Raimi presumed was its afternoon hunt, but that reaction a bit extreme for the puny size of the thing. "What's gotten into you, Dancer? I know he's a wolf, but he's only a tiny thing. He can't hurt you till he's bigger." Well, relatively speaking, anyway. Even Rae herself was still a bit wary of the damage the cub could potentially do if it was of a mind to.

"Sorry about that, Ringo," she said. "Dancer is usually more polite than that." Still stroking the horse's mane soothingly, she tried to remember what Ringo said to her before Dancer went crazy.

"I really had no choice but to clean out the stable, Ringo. I need a place to put Dancer, here. She's a dear friend and I couldn't bear to leave her someplace so uncomfortable and dirty."

Rae gestured over to all the clutter by the front entrance, which was far more organized now after Rae had made room for her cart. "As for all the rearranging, I had no choice but to do that either. At least, enough so that I could fit my cart in here. I didn't want to just leave it out in the street for anyone to steal from it. I wished I had a light, but I didn't have time to go get one since I wanted to get this little girl settled in and fed as soon as possible." She pointed to the lantern Ringo carried and smiled brightly. "Thanks for bringing that, by the way. You're a lifesaver!" Dancer sufficiently calm now, Rae warily grabbed her rake up again and began mucking out the last bits of old hay and horse droppings from the stall she'd been working on.

"That alcoholic, idiot so-called guildmaster has a lot of bloody nerve, if you ask me," she growled. "He had to know some of us would have horses. He couldn't even bother to clean out the stables himself before we got here? So much for a good first impression!" Finished with the stall, she threw the rake into a corner with an annoyed huff. She turned back to Dancer and began untying her bridle from the post, then proceeded to lead her into the now relatively clean space Raimi had created for her.

"If you don't mind my askin', Ringo," Raimi asked as she removed the saddle from Dancer's back, inspected it for wear and tear, and then proceeded to clean and maintain the leatherwork thoroughly, "what's the deal with Pippi, anyway? How'd you end up taming a wolf, of all things? I didn't even think it was possible to tame an animal as wild as a wolf, but he's so calm! If I didn't know no better, I'd have thought he was just a regular old hound the way he behaves."

She hung the saddle on a peg on the stable wall and then went to her cart to pull out a feedbag full of oats, the biggest one she had. She'd be leaving her horse a whole day, and no way she could count on Kline to check on it, or take it out for a walk, or graze it, or even just feed it while she was gone, so she'd just give the girl enough feed to last it as long as possible.

Just as she was settling the bag of oats around the pony's snout, the light of Ringo's lantern was suddenly obscured, as if an object had been dropped in front of the light it was making. Raimi hadn't heard anything hit the hard stone floor, though, so she looked over her shoulder, curious to see what was blocking her light...and gave a sharp gasp of surprise at the shadowy figure standing there as if he'd popped right out of thin air! A male voice echoed throughout the stable, one she recognized as Tobin the Pervert's.

"What is your problem, man?!" she shouted at him, frustrated at both him for sneaking up on her and herself for allowing him to. He had gotten in here somehow, without her hearing him, AGAIN! She'd heard Ringo and Pippi coming in the doorway, though she didn't expect Dancer's reaction, but this guy...it was like he floated above the ground instead of walked on it! That's the only way he could've gotten in here without her hearing the sound of his footfalls. She grabbed her long blonde braid in a white-knuckled grip and laid into the freaky weirdo. "Can't you just walk into a place like a normal person? Why you gotta sneak around everywhere like you wanna scare us all half out of our wits, huh?"

Rae's eyes narrowed in accusatory understanding as she stared at him. "Wait a minute. I get it. You just snuck in here all quiet-like so you could try and grab my butt again like earlier, didn't you!? Admit it!" Rather than give him time to speak as she commanded, she rolled right over whatever pathetic excuse he was going to try to come out with. She was so mad right then, she felt like she could chew on nails!

"You listen here, pervert! That drunken fool of a guildmaster may have put the three of us on the same job, and that may mean we have to tolerate each other for the next two days, but I'll have you know that me and Ringo are innocent maidens! You got that?! INNOCENT! MAIDENS! And if you try anything creepy like that again with either of us, I swear to all the gods who choose to listen I'll cuff you so hard over the back of the head with my bow stave you won't be able to tell left from right or up from down for a whole year! Just cause we ain't got big scary spears like Suomi don't mean you can treat us with any less respect than you do her! Pervy weirdo!" Honestly, he hadn't tried anything with the lancer! Was it because he thought Raimi was an easier mark? Well, just let him try something and she'd show him just how easy she actually was!

She seemed to punctuate every other furious word with a sharp tug on the braid that was still in her hands, but now that she'd said her piece, she threw it over her shoulder with a dismissive sniff.

"And for your information," she went on, quieter now that she'd vented her frustration, turning her back on the pervert so she could return to tending her horse, "I did NOT clean every stall. Just this one. For Dancer. She needs a place to eat and sleep while I'm gone. And I organized all that stuff over there so I could fit my cart in here." She went on in an even quieter, worried voice, as if only to herself now. "Kline probably won't feed her when this big bag runs out after we're gone. She's going to be hungry for a while. Sorry, friend." She patted the pony's neck as it ate and it returned her affection by nudging her with its nose. "It'll only be for a little while. Then I'll treat you to an even bigger bag than that one. How's that sound, hm?"

Rae gave her horse one last headpat in farewell and walked out of the only clean stall in the stable, closing its door behind her. "We'd better get to the airship," she told her new companions (or whatever Tobin counted as), "before I lose my nerve and decide to stay after all."

Ringo Sanguina

Night Post
The girl and the wolf

The horse reaction startled Ringo a bit. Not that she didn't expect it, but animal's natural ability to detect hidden threat was one of the thing that still surprise her even now. Ringo tried to signal Pippi to return to her but it seems this was his first time getting this close with a horse and wanted to examine further, he just circling around the horse.

When Ringo heard Raemi trying to calm the horse by saying that the wolf was just a small one, she immediately remembers something.

Ah, hail. I forgot to tell them about the real Pippi.

Not that she intended to hide it, but she just didn't found the right moment to tell the guild members. She couldn't imagine herself presenting Pippi in his real form and saying 'tada! Pippi is actually a big badass wolf!'. It would be a bit embarassing for her. Still...

"Er, Pippi is actually bigger than this..." Ringo hesitantly thinking whether or not to reveal Pippi's true form here, but with the horse nearby, it might make too much unnecessary ruckus so this might be not the best time for that.

"Anyway. That's rather unfortunate that you must left her here. She seems like a smart girl." Ringo extended her hand towards the horse, easy there. She stiffly and slowly put her hand on Dancer's mane. She felt awkward but hey, she touched a horse for the first time!!

After celebrating another 'first time' moment inside her own mind, she shifted her attention back to Raimu. The horse owner asked about her relationship with Pippi, a question that she wouldn't mind to answer. Actually, scratch that, she even puffed up her chest while answering, a clear sign that she's happy someone asked that and let her boast about her relationship with her wolf.

"Fufu, it might be not so normal here to tame a wolf, but it is normal in my tribe up in the north. We can only rely on fishing and hunting for food, so to boost our survivability we make bonding system that ties a hunter with an animal companion. Even among the hunter, my case is quite unique since I already took care of Pippi eversince he was a newborn!" Her eyes widen for a moment. "In other word, I am Pippi's mother! Right, Pippi?!"

Pippi just tilted his head a bit, as if saying 'what the hail are you saying'.

"See? He is a very good boy." Ringo ended her explanation with a satisfied nod. The realization of her being Pippi's mother might inflate her head for quite a while.

Shady

Ringo didn't mind it before when it happened to Raemi in the lounge, but it might be because there's quite some distance between her and Tobin, that and she was occupied with eating those foods. As a canis, Ringo relies on smell first, hearing second and vision last. Something that could bypass these senses with ease was a thing that she never encounter before. So when Tobin suddenly appeared from the lantern's shadow, her whole body was alarmed for it. Even Pippi jumped backward and bared his fangs, the wolf might took it more seriously than her. Fortunately a little sign from Ringo was enough to calm Pippi.

"I agree with Raemi on this one. You might lose your neck someday if you keep sneaking up on everyone like this." Ringo warned the shadow boy.

"You finished, Raemi? Good, let's go!" Ringo didn't want to keep dwelling on negative emotion for being sneaked on so she focus her mind on the exciting journey in front of her. She even excitedly quit the stable ahead of the others, only to came back a few seconds later.

"I don't know where the airship thingie is. Lead the way, mister creeper!"

Suomi Ebril

Autumnguay Woodlands
Clarmont, Kingdom of Zuiya

Interacted: Varimal ( Blitzer Blitzer )
Mentioned: Lilina ( Pyosimros Pyosimros )

[/div][div class=text]

Suomi paced herself down the dirt road with her lance in tow. It was easy to distinguish her form from the shadows of the moonlit night. Given their first quest, the lancer was keen on getting the job done right. Before long, she caught Varimal in her sight at the end of the horizon, and hastened her steps to meet up with the man. While she was somewhat opposed to the idea of having to put up with the man's brash demeanor and personality, Suomi had placed the mission first and foremost. Everything else would have to follow suit, she thought. Besides, they were given a simple detail of gathering ingredients for a local doctor in Autumnguay. How hard could that pose? Suomi reassured herself.

Under the gloomy and dim-lit street lamps, Suomi eventually caught up with Varimal and Lilina, the latter of which had made her introduction briefly. A sharpshooter, a mage, and a lancer, as the lancer perceived it, should be more than suffice to deal with anything that came their way. That is to say, if there was anything to see to with arms. Before long, Varimal raised his voice towards her and Lilina. Suomi was quite surprised by how inquisitive he was, despite his demeanor from before. But alas, it doesn't hurt to gave him a square reply, she thought.

"I thought my lance would speak for my admissions, Varimal? Akin to that firepipe on your shoulder." she answered, pointing at Varimal's rifle, while she bore her lance upon her shoulders, as the trio trod down the rugged dirt road that led to the doctor's house.

While Suomi did not actually mentioned her real reason of transfer to Blue Rose, she had deemed it unnecessary if the man did not pushed for it. Like the weight of her lance upon her shoulder, the lancer was less keen on opening up towards her comrades. She had preferred to keep her words concise. Perhaps this was his attempt at small-talks? Or perhaps by curiosities of the heart? It mattered little to Suomi. Perhaps when the time comes, her skills would be put to good use of proving herself on the field, rather than by words alone. While she had inherited much conviction and confidence, her strength and capabilities would have to abide by her own hubris.

Tobin Han
location: Blue Roses' HQ

interactions: Raimi MagicPenguin MagicPenguin , Ringo Spoiled Bread Spoiled Bread

Tobin ignored the wolf pup's warning stance as much as he could, simply because he knew his sudden appearance would have startled it. It growled at him aggressively, but Ringo was quick to soothe him. That was enough to tell Tobin that he didn't need to bring out his blades as the last thing he wanted was wolf blood on his hands, and a potential fight to the death with Ringo. How troubling... The man thought with a sigh as he returned his attention to Raimi.

Continuing to stand there with his shoulder against the frame of the barn entrance with his arms still crossed, he listened to country girl. Raimi had gone off on some sort of tangent upon his appearance and it was difficult for him to process anything she said. The words that came out of her mouth sounded like utter garbage as they entered one ear and morphed into confusion as it came out the other. Grabbing butts? Pervert? Creepy? He couldn't recollect any occasion that could've been interpreted as a sexual assault. Why would he anyways? Both Raimi and Ringo looked like children and he personally had no interest in such debauched antics.

"I agree with Raimi on this one. You might lose your neck someday if you keep sneaking up on everyone like this." Ringo piped in, causing Tobin to sigh and shake his head in response. Perhaps he could limit his use of shadows. It was strange for him that he was around people that didn't that way though.

"I have no interest in children," Tobin stated bluntly, moving so he stood tall even though his arms were still crossed. A second of silence passed as he his cat-like orbs examined the two, taking note of their short statures and doll-like appearances. They really did look like children. "And I choose not to concern myself with nobles. They're a bothersome group of people." The male let out another sigh as if a bad memory had surfaced, his eyes almost pained. "However, I will maintain a distance from you if that would make you less... uneasy." After those last words, he choose not to disagree with Raimi any further. In fact, he silently agreed with her remarks about Kline. The man seemed highly unreliable. Why someone like him was a guild master was a question beyond him.

When it was time to go, Tobin didn't waste any time. Ringo's creepy comment deserved to be addressed, but he was already mentally exhausted from interacting with Raimi. There was no amount of physical torture that could have surpassed the torture brought upon Raimi's behavior. As they walked through the town, the sky darkening by the minute, he kept replaying their passed interactions. He couldn't figure out what exactly he had done to be called a pervert and it made him feel something. Annoyance?

It wasn't long before they'd reached the edge of the city. A large area of land had been cleared for all airships that came to and went from Clarmont. There were large crowds exiting and entering their designated airships, the region bustling with life. Tobin maneuvered through the people, ensuring that none of them touched him, or even the girls at that. It was a modest gesture, and not one anyone would have really noticed unless they payed attention. His actions were simply something he'd picked up after so many years doing jobs as a guard.

"Is this the ship to Carsea?" Tobin asked simply, eyeing what looked like to be a captain.

Raimi Charlotte
Stable -> bustling streets/ship docks -> Airship

"I agree with Raimi on this one. You might lose your neck someday if you keep sneaking up on everyone like this," Ringo piped up. With crossed arms, Rae shot a smug, satisfied look at Tobin, feeling vindicated that the other girl had taken her side. Between their similar looks, their similar hobbies, and their shared appreciation for nature, Raimi thought she was going to get along with Ringo just fine. She didn't have too many female friends her own age back in the village, besides her older siblings, especially not ones that liked survival, hunting, and gathering like Raimi did, so she was suitably excited to find a kindred spirit in the Northern girl.

She still wasn't sure about Pippi, though; the dangerous aura he gave off at Tobin's approach, his displayed teeth in its snarl and his throaty growl, made her uneasy. Most of the time, the creature was very calm, but in that moment, he looked a lot like the wolves with which she was familiar, wild animals that could not be tamed, ones that would steal your livestock in the night or tear your throat out without a second thought if you were not careful about how you dealt with them. Maybe things were different in the north, as Ringo said, but Rae still did not fully believe wolves were animals that could be tamed and she would not test her luck by trusting Pippi too far. And what was that Ringo said about him being bigger than he looked? She didn't understand what that meant, but a careful distance and a wary eye would be needed with Pippi, at least until Raimi had enough time to grow to trust him.

Rae's smug look melted into an angry grimace when Tobin replied. "I have no interest in children," he said. "However, I will maintain a distance from you if that would make you less... uneasy."

Children?!

Raimi's teeth ground in frustration with the perverted, self-styled ninja. How dare he?! First he sneaks up on her, quieter than she can hear, then he throws her a backhanded insult like that one? That did it. This guy needed a lesson in humility. As far as she could tell, he was a typical entitled city boy who thought his good looks and skill with a knife gave him a right to treat people--especially women--however he pleased. She'd met dozens of "knights--" all of them coincidentally men--in Clarmont just like him. Well, she'd show this arrogant peacock she wasn't some child he could talk down to, nor some random tavern floozy he could sneak up on and touch whenever he felt the urge. She didn't know how yet, but she was going to make him see she wasn't just a pretty face he could do with as he pleased. She'd let him apologize to her once she'd taught him a sharp lesson, but she was going to make him howl before he did. Oh, she was going to get him good. As soon as she figured out how.

She gave her braid one sharp yank, then let go of it, ungritted her teeth, and smoothed her angry face as best as she was able, trying to project calm. "Yes," she responded icily, low voice calmer than she felt inside. "See that you do, Pretty Boy." She didn't want to let on how angry she was; let him think the matter was dropped. Once his guard was down, she'd show him what it was like to be sneaked up on and violated the way he apparently liked to do to girls. She abruptly turned from him and back to Ringo, eager to return to conversation with her fellow free-spirit; as much attention as she paid Tobin after that point, he might as well not have existed as far as she was concerned. She gave dancer one last affectionate pat, took a small bag of necessities (and potential merchandise) from her cart and the trio left the stable to head for the airship docks.

"So," she asked Ringo as they walked, "I guess wolves are a lot different up north where you're from than they are down here, huh? They must be. We have wolves sometimes near my village that steal chickens and cows for food in the winter, but they're way too dangerous to tame and keep as pets. We have to chase them away or kill them if we can't, or else we won't have any meat for the winter," she said sadly. "I can't imagine any wolf I've ever encountered being so calm like Pippi is most of the time, even letting people get close enough to touch without biting them." The pair conversed all the way to the docks, about their respective hometowns, hunting techniques, archery, taming animals, nature, city life...every topic Rae could think of that was of mutual interest to the two, which turned out to be a very long list. She was right about Ringo, she reflected. They were going to be great friends.

Raimi pointedly ignored Tobin, who walked behind them, for most of the short journey, though she shot an angry glare at him when he started shooing people and crowds away from them like he was their bodyguard or something. Typical. Macho manly man thought he had to protect the dainty little girls from harm. Like they were made of bloody porcelain. He probably believed they'd shatter at the lightest touch and needed his careful protection to be safe. They couldn't possibly take care of themselves, now could they? She grumbled angrily and gripped her braid, but was quick to stifle her irritation. She still wanted him to think she was ignoring him, that she'd already forgotten about his earlier actions. Inside, though, her mind whirled anew with ideas about how to get back at him. By the time she was through with this boy, he'd be hiring a guard to protect himself from her! Her grumbling became a quick, mischievous snicker, and then she went back to talking to Ringo and pretending he didn't exist.

Conversation stopped when they reached the airship. While Tobin talked with the captain, Raimi looked up in wonder at the gigantic thing. She'd seen them in the air before, but they looked so small when they were flying so far away. Up close, the mechanical monsters were a different thing entirely. It was a massive black metal ship with countless oars sticking out of both sides of it. Even just the oars were so huge, Raimi thought a single one of them would be taller than her family's farmhouse if stood straight up and down. And there were at least twenty of them, ten on each side. It was just plain awe-inspiring. So enthralled was she that she was almost left behind when Ringo and Tobin began to board. She followed with a hurried step, trying to ignore the sense of vertigo she felt looking up at the smooth side of the ship that seemed to extend higher and higher upward the closer she got to the door in the side of it. Entering the interior of the ship, she felt as though she were entering the belly of a giant whale, the kind of monster that, in her Ma's old bedtime stories, ate ships and sailors whole in one giant gulp.

"This is incredible," she said to her companions. "I've never seen anything like it! It's so big...so much bigger than any bird I've ever seen! How do they get it to stay in the air without coming crashing back down? It oughta be impossible." She directed the question at Tobin, thinking he'd know more of this sort of thing than Ringo, since he was apparently from the city.

After she'd inspected the quarters the three of them had been given to share, Raimi ran excitedly up to the top level and out onto the deck; she wanted to be outside to see when the ship finally made its ascent into the sky. Even when the ship was just moored and on the ground, Raimi was so high up that all the people milling around on the ground looked like tiny dolls the size of her finger; she couldn't imagine what it would be like when the thing was actually in the sky. Would she be able to see them at all? She could hardly contain her eagerness for the ship to be off.

When it did finally take off, Raimi was not disappointed. The horn mounted on the ship's top shot off a huge booming sound as the oars started turning in neat circles. Slowly, the ship started to lift off the ground. With a sharp intake of breath, Rae watched the people, slowly but surely, shrink even further the higher the ship rose. As they rose yet higher, the sounds of the city--people moving and chatting, merchants calling their wares, horses and other animals making noises, the sound of workshops closing and the ring of blacksmiths' hammers on anvils--receded, until the only things she could still hear were the sounds of the other passengers on the deck and the oars rhythmically beating against the empty air with a loud, steady whoosh each time they turned. Up, up, and up they went, even higher still, until she couldn't see the people at all anymore they became so tiny, though she could see the city in its entirety, as well as the surrounding forest, by the light of the full moon. There were the city streets that had seemed so wide to her the first time she came to Clarmont years ago, now all visible with one glance, seeming nearly as tiny and insignificant as the insect-sized people that walked along them. There was the forest she spent so much time hunting in, the ground hidden beneath the tree cover, though it just looked like an animal's fuzzy green fur from where she stood.

With a gasp, Rae leaned out over the rail and pointed to something on the Eastern side of the city, near the wall. "Look! I think I see the guildhall," she called excitedly, her cheeks red and flushed with both cold and excitement. She didn't notice the odd looks she got from some of the other passengers standing alongside her on the ship's deck, though several of them, probably first time fliers like her, seemed to understand and even share her contagious enthusiasm.

Raimi was amazed by just how small everything looked from up here. It was like the city and the forest and the village she'd grown up in were nothing but objects in a young child's dollhouse from this height. When she reflected that she was just as small as all the other people and things down there, it really made her think about her usual perspective and how limited it was. She'd initially thought she was seeing the world as a bird did, but maybe that wasn't quite right. Was this how the gods saw the world and those in it? As tiny insects in a dollhouse built for their amusement?

Soon enough, the ship was so high up that they rose above the very clouds themselves and the ground became obscured beneath them. While the world below had become smaller, the moon seemed to have become larger, a bright, beautiful shining ball of the purest light. The sight of it against the clear night sky and a sea of speckling stars, with the clouds beneath her instead of above, took Raimi's breath away. It was a view she didn't think she'd ever be able to forget.

Everyone on the deck was soon ushered back inside the giant whale of a ship by its staff. They told everyone it was dangerous to be outside at this elevation, though they themselves began to perform tasks at the oars, masts, and sails of the thing without any apparent fear. They had mundane looks while they went about their jobs, as if this was just another day at work for them and nothing special at all. If Rae didn't know better, she would have thought the scene took place on an ordinary ship at sea and not one flying what seemed like hundreds of leagues in the air.

Raimi retreated to the quarters she shared with the other Blue Roses so she could plan with them about tomorrow's job. She also had to get some sleep in preparation for what they had to do in Carsea tomorrow, though with the rocking of the ship as a constant reminder of how high up she was, she wasn't sure she'd be able to drift off through all the excitement. Of course, she had the perfect remedy for restlessness, and perhaps an opportunity for profit as well.

She pulled a packet of herbs from her bag and heated a kettle of water on the brazier in the corner of the small room. "Anyone want some hot tea before bed," she asked. "Gathered the herbs m'self back in the village. They're especially useful to help you get to sleep! Only 100 riel for a packet, y'all! Get 'em now!" Even now, she hadn't forgotten what she'd really come for: to sell her merchandise to the rich knights in the Blue Rose guild.

Though, even if nobody bought anything from her in the end, Rae thought giddily, this experience alone was surely worth the extra two days she'd agreed to spend with the guild.

POST-02
LILINA
Night soon fell onto the guild headquarters of The Blue Rose, and its members were split into multiple teams. When Kline had designated each member towards various teams, Lilina left rather disappointed. She was paired with individuals she had never met, and making matters worse, she was split away from the only person she happened to know: Lecia. However, the young mage was undeterred by this. Being split from her friend served as an opportunity to take on a full leadership role within her trio—having Lecia there would only make things...problematic in achieving such a role.

Lilina herself had just exited the guild's headquarters with a small bag in tow. She didn't have many possessions that absolutely required her to bring along, she merely brought a few snacks and numerous small tools that could be proven useful. In the distance, just before the dirt road forked into different directions, she saw a man motioning to her—Lilina could only assume that it was Varimal.

The mage reached him in a short jog, and once sufficiently closed, he asked, "So what skills do you have that got you into the Guild?"

Suomi answered first, mentioning her lance. Lilina simply gave a short nod towards this, before she gave an answer herself.

"I'm probably one of the most talented young mages out there," she stated with a haughty tone, nodding towards her own answer—completely oblivious towards her own hubris.

After giving her answer, Lilina turned away from the group, beginning to walk down the road. Whether it was the right direction or not, it mattered little to Lilina, she only wanted to lead the group towards somewhere. "Now let's get a move on to get whatever that doctor needs," she said to them rather simply.

[/div][div class=Container][div class=Textbox][div class=Text]Myesha came from a place of sand and stone. Her home was of mud and brick, made to cool its inhabitants from the scorching sun. Her people were farmers and shepherds and builders; they lived as one large family within their own little weathered houses. So- despite having resided here for a good while now- Myesha found that her new living quarters were awfully peculiar in a charming way. They weren’t nearly as bright as the colorfully decorated rooms of her homelands, but they were still had an odd kind of warmth to them.

Myesha chose to stay in a room with multiple beds (raised ones!!), mostly because the single bed rooms seemed to already have been claimed. She spent a good part of the day cleaning the place up. When Myesha finally stepped back to take a look at what she’d done, she found it all to be pleasing. The young Knight headed back into the parlour, her travel items in one hand and her little slip of paper in another. She’d gathered into a small bag some of her basic needs: a washcloth, some dried fruits from back home, and a few other little things. She kept more valuable items like riel in her pockets.

The slip of paper in Myesha’s hand was given to her by Kline. She took a look at it. It seemed that “pirates” frequently attacked a town. Myesha narrowed her eyes. What the hell are “pirates”? Further down the paper she saw that she’d be working with Lecia and Aikato.

Some part deep inside of Myesha felt relief at not being paired with the lancer or the ranger.

Myesha looked ‘round and, upon seeing that she was alone, sent a clone kage bunshin but not out to look for her teammates.

Aster
[/div]
[div class=fyuri04boxleft]
Two days prior, the sun had begun to descend below the horizon, veiling Clarmont in a warm glow of tangerines. The Knights Exam had just ended, and the prospects were spread amongst the city, easily detectable with their nervous ticks while the spectators relished in the electrifying atmosphere. Aster Hemlock was amongst the uneasy candidates, absentmindedly tapping her foot, whirlwinds of thoughts flailing her mind. What if she did not receive her Knight's License? The concept meant failure and failure meant more disappointment for her family.

Though Aster's mind was a tornado of thoughts, the environmental wind was nothing more than a light breeze, stirring the petals that blossomed from her right eye. Her long, pale hair whirled behind her in a paralleled rhythm with the flower amongst her face. A cast of doubt lingered in her salmon-hued eye that faded only when she had been honored with a Knight's License after seven tedious days. Still, it was not enough. The young woman had hoped to catch the attention of the guild Divine Trinity. Maybe then she would feel competent enough. Aster knew her desire to be in Divine Trinity was a reach. After all, the guild was top-tiered and mainly composed of nobles. Even with reality fully solidified in her subconscious, disappointment crashed down upon her like waves against a shore when Divine Trinity did not offer Aster a place in their guild. Although Divine Trinity had overlooked Aster, another guild had not.

The Blue Roses.

Being a barely established guild, the name perplexed Aster for a moment. Should she accept? It took the manipulator nearly two full days to proceed with a response.

The road and the location of the Blue Roses' Headquarters may have been underwhelming for others, but to Aster, it felt like home; isolated amongst a barrier of trees. Upon entering the dismal building, Aster second-guessed her decision. Each step she took extracted an obnoxious creak from the floorboards followed by a whiff of dust beneath her black boots. The conditions prompted a coughing fit as Aster meandered around what appeared to be a kitchen, dining room, and lounge area. The room was impregnated with an eerie silence, provoking Aster to wonder where the rest of the guild could be.

While inspecting her new home, Aster nearly stepped on an already wilted plant blooming through a floorboard. Squatting down, the woman turned her head to the side curiously, delicately rolling a dying petal between her thumb and pointer finger. While doing so, the plant suddenly sprouted with life once more.

"There," Aster hummed contentedly, springing back to stand erect. Then, abruptly, a male's voice commanded her attention from a distance, inspiring a sudden jerk from her. Aster soon learned the voice belonged to Kline, her new Guild Master, who wasted no time in reprimanding her for "being late." He also wasted no time in handing over her assigned quest and explaining the place was barren due to the others scattering to complete their selected crusade.

By the time Aster had placed her belongings in a room, the sun had already begun its descent down the heavens once more, painting the sky in vivid tones of vermillion and amethyst. Exiting the Headquarters, Aster could feel a significant shift in her prana as the sunlight began to gradually dissipate. She would need to act fast. Kneeling on one knee, she fanned out her palm onto the ground below, closing her eyes. The prana rooted within her and the prana rooted within the forest grounds intermingled. Using the descriptions Kline had given her, Aster attempted to locate the other three members she was to join.

Luck was on her side; the three had not traveled too far yet. Armed with her sword and a few necessities, the woman began on foot towards the three strangers. In order to reach them, Aster ran. Not long after she left the Blue Roses' Headquarters did a silver-haired and blonde-haired woman accompanied by a man come into her vision.

"Uhm, excuse me,"
She called out between raspy breaths. "Are you the Blue Roses guild members? I was sent by Kline."

Old floorboards wailed at the heavy burden they were tasked to support. In conjunction with the eerie scratching noises mixed in between, the dimly lit hallway presented itself to be highly unwelcoming to those who had yet to take a step inside. As for the culprit behind the disturbing noises, it was none other than one very depressed dragonling.

Was it forgetting to wait at the coffee shop? Did I hug her too hard when she arrived at the guild? Lecia paced about the corridors gloomily with her tail dragging behind her. Though she had been devastated at their current state of affairs, her best friend Lilina hadn’t appeared to share her sentiments. The blonde had simply packed her bags and gone on her way, completely unfazed. In fact, she even seemed pleased to have been selected for a mission separate from Lecia’s. She! Seemed! Pleased! Was their friendship of ten years truly worth so little?

“Fine, I hate you too!” the dragonling muttered childishly. With a harsh thump of her tail against the abused floor, she hastened her steps in search for her new questmates. Upon her seventh step, her irritation was already long forgotten. Naturally. After all, it was this simple-mindedness which allowed for her obliviousness towards Lilina’s one-sided rivalry to thrive to this day.

Soon enough, the dragonling spotted a vaguely familiar figure floating about the parlor. If she wasn’t mistaken, it was the lady who had entered their headquarters right before Lecia herself. Her name was...what was it again?

“Hello again! Your name wouldn’t happen to be Aikato or Myesha would it?” With a cheerful greeting, Lecia boldly grabbed a hold of the hooded woman’s hand—or at least she had tried to.

When her hand passed right through the apparition before her, she couldn’t help but flex the fingers on both of her hands a few times. Then, she lifted her left hand to poke at the woman’s shoulder. “Huh, that’s strange. Granny said ghosts don’t exist. Are ghosts allowed to become knights, too?” [/div] [/div] [/div]

As it ambled around, it caught sight of a maiden with fair skin dotted with emerald scales; silver head embellished with four horns. The clone watched as the dragonchild took notice of her. Its eyes twinkled when the child tried (and failed) to hold its hand.

“Huh, that’s strange,” the dragonling mused. “Granny said ghosts don’t exist. Are ghosts allowed to become knights, too?”

“I am Myesha’s duplicate,” the clone replied. “An illusion. What’s your name?.”

The image of Myesha took a few steps towards the parlour, looking back to see if the dragonling would follow.

It was a foggy night in the Trading Depot of Clarmont. The moon, half hidden by dark clouds, shimmered weakly in the sky, while the fog-smothered silhouettes of warehouses stood out like tombstones against the night sky. It was a cold night, too, and the four workers shuffled from foot to foot and clapped their gloved hands together to keep warm. All of them - Wilhelm, Jast, Baxter and Carl - were thinking of hot beds, and a few hours sleep in a nearby tavern before they'd be back at the depot and waiting for another delivery to come in. They shouldn't have been there at such a ridiculous hour - but some noble fop had ordered something on priority delivery - paid a pretty pile of coin for it as well - and the boss had promised them all a nice little bonus for their efforts. Despite the time though - the depot was a hive of activity with wagons rattling to and fro, carrying food and all kinds of other supplies to the markets for the next day.

Even so, Wilhelm, a burly man who was more muscle than man had been complaining about it for much of the night. What was the point of making them wait around for one measly crate?
Jast was a bit more cheerful - his Wife was a right Dragon by all accounts, and everyone knew it. He was just happy to be out the house.
Baxter was as silent as ever, but then he never did. His common tongue was far from perfect, but he knew quite a few swear words. At twenty-one, he was the closest to Carl in age. All tall, dark and brooding.
Carl was the youngest of the group. Still constantly referred to as "The boy" and "The lad" by the rest of the group. It probably didn't help that he was baby-faced and socially awkward. He was always the target of all the jokes, both verbal and practical.

"Look out lads," Said Wilhelm, pointing down the road to an incoming horse and carriage - with a single, rather heavy looking crate in tow. "Here she comes at last."

--

A few minutes later, the crate was being lowered on a thick hemp rope - so that the workers could carry it to their own wagon, which in turn would deliver it to the customer.

Carl, Wilhelm and Baxter took the brunt of the weight of the crate as it came into reach, with Jast calling instructions. It wasn't too heavy, in the greater scheme of things. Carl was a bit relived about that - the last thing he needed to do was pull his back out again.

"Alright lads, steady now!" Wilhelm called, as the rope was released and the three men began to carefully carry the crate to the target - each with a pair of arms wrapped around a corner to support its weight.

And then without warning, Carl felt something wrap around his right leg. And then, before he could even react or yell a warning to his co-workers, whatever that had latched onto him pulled with incredible strength - and Carl fell himself falling to the ground.

He landed with a painful thud, but he didn't have a chance to process what happened before a very large - and very heavy - crate promptly crashed to the floor. Right on top of his right leg.

There was a sickening crunch. The pain was indescribable, like red hot pokers were being unceremoniously stabbed into his knees. He was vaguely aware of Wilhelm and Baxter shouting something or other - but Carl's whole world was simply agony, and he couldn't make out what they were saying over his own screams.

"Bloody hell ya stupid boy!" Wilhelm shouted over the din, as he, Baxter and Jast quickly got their hands beneath the crate and with a grunt of effort lifted the crate off his legs. The heavy wooden crate landed with a loud thud by Carl's side, the moment his colleagues were confident they could safely release it.

"My leg!" Carl sobbed, looking down at it. His right leg was covered in blood, and was clearly crushed. Evidently the screams and chaos had attracted a crowd of other depot workers, who were charging over to see if they could help. Jast and Baxter's expressions were ashen as they bent down by Carl's side as Wilhelm grabbed him by the shoulders.

"It's alright lad, it's alright..." He muttered into the sobbing boys ear.

Carl was practically hyperventilating. The shock of the accident was now wearing off, replaced by blind panic. Before Wilhelm could say something to comfort the poor boy however, the crowd were all turning the gazes to something that was going on behind them.

An odd pulsing golden light was lighting up the dank and dingy street. But neither Carl nor Wilhelm could see what was causing it.

"Make way!" Someone cried. "It's a healer! Make way!"

"Oh thank the gods..." Wilhelm muttered as he pulled Carl tight, too relieved to wonder what a mage was doing in the area at such an hour. "It's gonna be alright lad. Help's here."

The crowd was parting, and the golden light came clearly into view. The three uninjured workers gasped, and Carl - though still in considerable pain - found himself staring at the person who was approaching them.

587604

It was a girl. Probably one of the most beautiful Carl had ever seen. She was glowing in a golden light, a pearl white staff in her hand and her shimmering robes matching the light that was practically flowing out of her. Carl had never been one to believe in Angels or anything like that, but if they DID exist - THIS is what they must have looked like.
The girl glanced down at him with a kind expression upon her features, her yellow eyes filled with concern.

"Who-" Carl managed to gasp, only for Wilhelm to place another heavy hand on his shoulder and gently pull him down.
"Easy now lad, rest. don't try to talk."

But Carl's eyes were wide, staring at this...this...goddess who had appeared in front of him. She seemed to have had a similar effect on the crowd as well - a bunch of laborers who had never seen anything even approaching this angelic woman.

The girl curtsied.

"I bid thee greetings," She said. Her voice was like music to Carl's ears. "My name is Vess. Tis a pleasure to meet thee."

The glowing woman called Vess now knelt herself down by Carl's prone form, seemingly unconcerned with the dirt, grime and blood that now stained her immaculate robes.

"Can you help the poor lad?" Wilhelm asked eagerly. Even he seemed rather taken aback by this good turn of events.

Vess gazed down at Carl, and smiled kindly as she gently placed a hand upon his chest, the other holding her staff.

"Tis my duty to assist those in need." She replied calmly. There were a few cries from the crowd of "Oh bless you miss!" and "Oh thank the gods!"

Vess's ears went slightly pink at that, but not as red as Carl - who despite the pain, found himself feeling rather self-conscious that a very pretty girl was gently holding a hand to his chest and was now slowly lowering it down towards a rather sensitive part of body. The glowing light that had been flowing throughout her body was receding and refocusing in her arms, and Carl felt himself calming down as the agonizing pain finally began to subside. He risked another glance at her, only to see Vess smiling back - before she turned her attention to his leg. She muttered something under her breath, and there was a flash of light and a...bizarre feeling in his leg. As if it was being simultaneously being massaged in jelly and being plunged into a hot bath.

Carl scrunched his eyes closed after that and tried not to think about it.

A few moments later he heard more gasps from the crowd and Some clapping, he risked a peek downwards. His trousers were mangled and bloodied to be sure - but both his legs looked completely unscathed. Vess was kneeling by his side, looking as if she was exhausted.

Baxter and Jast were cheering along with the crowd, as Wilhelm gave Carl a rough pat on the back and a grin before quickly stepping over him and helping Vess to her feet. She had to lean on her staff to support herself as the muscular man helped her keep her balance. She was gasping for breath, red in the face and her own legs were shaking uncontrollably.

Poor girl Carl thought to himself, feeling a little guilty. She must be exhausted from all that magic she used.

"I don't know how we can ever repay ya lass," Wilhelm said over the din, and he pulled a small purse of coin from out of his pocket - only for Vess to take another gulp of air, release one of her hands that had been clinging to her staff and gently bat the money away with a smirk.

"O-oh, thou have already paid. Believe thou - I mean, me."

"So selfless!" Someone in the crowd cried.

"A truly good woman!" A old lady agreed.

"I...am simply a humble servant of Tertius," Vess gasped, before considering. "...Actually thou could assist me with one thing."

"Anything!" Wilhelm replied, throwing his gigantic arms wide to underline his point.

Vess nodded and reached into one of the many pockets of her robe and produced a small piece of parchment. She showed it to Wilhelm.

"Privy, where is the headquarters of the Blue Rose?"

"It's on the other side of the city," Carl said quickly as he climbed to his feet and gingerly approached the pair. He could feel how red his face was when Vess smiled at him again.

"We uh...we've actually got to make a delivery in the area...uh....if you like we c-could--" He waved over at the large carriage that they had been planning to place the crate on.

"We could give ya a lift if you like? As thanks I mean."

Vess's smile widened.

Varimal's hopes were dashed with their answers. The Lancer's talk was nothing short of arrogance and traditional upbringing. Who cared what weapon you head? That was a noble thing, specific weapons to specific talents, specific styles. He considered his answer shortly as he plodded on the road and answered just after the second answer which hurt him the most in it's lack of foresight and scope.

He jerked his hand back towards his weapon. "This is not a firestick, it is a barrel loaded prana rifle. There are a hundred ways of using his weapon depending on specialization. I have my own way of using it and you have your way of using your lance, probably based on your families style. Do you know what kind of a fighter I am? Bare observation is what you have pointed out." He slid his cloak back to reveal his sword and double barreled pistol. "I dig for the mystery that cannot be merely shown, or hidden behind the veil of what we can see. Your words reveal much."

He turned to the mage, Lilina. "Lilina right? I don't give a damn about what you think about yourself compared to what your abilities are," his voice was obviously growing aggressive, and he wondered if he would be able to really work with these people. When the new girl showed up calling after them, he simply grunted and said. "Yeah, that's us, welcome."

His voice remained cold with an edge to it, as he continued trudged on towards the doctor's house not really willing to listen to another person's story or even really get to know them. He sank unbidden into the depth of his mind and a perpetually frown creased his face.

After speaking to the captain and being shown to their quarters for the night, Tobin cautiously examined everything in the room. There were two bunk beds on either side of the room with a window adjacent to them. He felt the wooden bed frames for anything dangerous or hazardous for a few moments before confirming it was safe to sleep on. Instead of claiming one of the four beds, however, Tobin opted to make his spot against the wall and by the door. Beds were uncomfortable to him and it wasn't like he'd be sleeping with people in the room anyways.

Sitting with one leg bent on the floor and the other propped upwards, he clutched his bag in one hands and rested his head against the wall. Though he tried to rest by closing his eyes, it was difficult with the little bird Raimi chirping wildly. Her excitement was overwhelming and Tobin felt a scowl begin to form on his face, though he tried hard to keep it at bay.

"This is my first time riding an airship myself," Tobin began, his eyes peeling open, "but I believe there is a large prana core at the top. It's function is essentially the same as prana weapons and how they absorb the prana around us. Somehow they managed to manipulate it to counteract Terra's pull on us." He'd watched her carefully, wondering if any of her words even broke through all her giddiness and amazement. Her childlike innocence made him scoff and she'd only confirmed the statement he'd made a while ago.

Watching the small female disappear, the atmosphere suddenly went deathly silent. It was so quite that he could hear his own breathing, so he instinctively slowed his breath so it could no longer be heard. He soon found himself making eye contact with the wolf pup, Pippi, and he felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise slightly; his skin even became moist with sweat. Their earlier encounter didn't bother him much but after learning the wolf could become larger bothered him. Canines were never his friend. They always made him feel on edge for some reason.

The feeling of the airship beginning to take off startled Tobin. Although it was only for a second, a moment of panic spread throughout him. It wasn't until Raimi returned that he found the air breathable again. Of course, she had to ruin the feeling by trying to sell her tea.

"No-" Tobin stated before wincing internally at how cold he sounded, "-thank you." Tobin wasn't exactly the friendliest person and he knew that. He was trying his best to become more approachable for people but years of solitude didn't help any. In fact, he'd only recently learned to say things such as "Thank you" and "Please" outside of a job or a formal setting. Besides trying to be nice to others and his lack of social skills, his bluntness was also an enemy to man.

"Our recent interactions have not given me a reason to trust you enough to buy tea."

"Our recent interactions have not given me a reason to trust you enough to buy tea, " Tobin said.

Raimi's sales girl smile turned to a scowl. "You stole my line, perv. You were the one who snuck up on me from behind, remember?" The fact that he'd been able to do that so easily still rankled her something fierce, but she ignored her annoyance for now. She'd get him back for that soon enough.

"Besides, whaddya think I did, poison it? It's just tea, man."

The tea kettle she'd placed on the small brazier started whistling. Rae rustled around in her travel pack and eventually pulled out a small tin cup.

" Look, I'll even prove it to ya, " she said, smile back in place. Carefully she filled the cup to the top with steaming hot water, then ripped open one of the herb packets and dumped its contents in. She swirled the water around with a small stick until the liquid took on a rich, dark color. When she was satisfied the herbs were sufficiently mixed in, she took a swig of the herbal tea. After a few swallows, she let the cup drop from her lips with a contented sigh.

"See, " she said to Tobin. "Perfectly safe. Don't you wanna try some?" Rae considered him and Ringo thoughtfully a moment, tapping her finger to her chin, then stopped abruptly and nodded as if coming to a decision. She began digging into her bag again and quickly came out with two small tin cups similar to the one she had.

"Tell ya what, amigos, " she declared confidently as she filled the cups about a quarter way each with water from the kettle and distributed about half the contents of another herb packet between the two of them. "I'll even give you a small sample free. It's so good, I'm sure you'll wanna pay a bit for more. That is, if it don't put you to sleep too fast!"

"So, Tobin, Ringo, whaddya say? I know you wanna try it, " she said, offering them each a cup.

[div class=header] lecia blanchett;
[div class=subheader] Location: Guild Hall Parlor [/div] [/div] [div class=basicsR] [div class=box] “Lecia. My name is Lecia Blanchett.” The dragonling replied spiritedly, albeit in an absentminded tone.

Though disappointed that the woman wasn’t some lost spectre, the clone’s reply nevertheless drove Lecia to inspect her with curiosity lighting her verdant eyes. She had mentioned being an illusion, yet she didn’t appear to be under the caster’s direct control. To have a duplicate of yourself that could work separately from you, how convenient! Perhaps their other guildmates had interesting magic as well.

Within the time Lecia spent wondering about the capabilities of the other Blue Rose members, Myesha the Second had already gone on ahead. Her act of looking back expectantly, though, prompted the dragonling to hasten her steps. It was clear that the illusion’s purpose was to lead her to the original’s location. The only disappointment was that her time with the illusion was brief. Myesha was waiting in the parlour, just as she silverette had expected.

“Your magic is pretty fun,” Lecia said with a grin, “I look forward to working with you.”

Upon mentioning their upcoming mission, the dragonling took a quick scan of the room. No one else was present. Was this Aikato person late, or had they already gone ahead? Based on the contents of the letter, the airship was bound to leave soon.

Lecia’s brows creased into a light frown. “Do you know if ‘Aikato’ is in the building? If not, we might have to meet them at the harbor.”

It was an unfortunate case. She would have liked to get to know everyone before departing for their mission. It wasn’t often she had the opportunity to work with someone that wasn’t her grandmother or Lilina. Nevertheless, she still gestured towards the direction of the door leading outside as a suggestion to move onwards before they were all late. [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div]

Ringo Sanguina

Night Post
Along the way

Ringo was happy when she found that she and Raimu were pretty much has same interests. The canis girl might not admit it, but she actually miss her hometown, just a tiiinyyy bit. So having someone talk about hunting with her relieve some of this feeling.

"So, I guess wolves are a lot different up north where you're from than they are down here, huh? They must be. We have wolves sometimes near my village that steal chickens and cows for food in the winter, but they're way too dangerous to tame and keep as pets. We have to chase them away or kill them if we can't, or else we won't have any meat for the winter. I can't imagine any wolf I've ever encountered being so calm like Pippi is most of the time, even letting people get close enough to touch without biting them." This Raimu's particular statement though, gave Ringo a bit of the idea about their different experience.

"Hmm." Ringo rubbed her chin as she thought about the answer. "I would say yes. Most of the animals living there are the big ones, with thick layer of fat or fur, or both. The wolves there are no exception, they can be as big as a horse! The people of my tribe and our hunting wolves has been working together for generations. I mean, just look at me." Ringo pulled down her hood for a brief moment to let Raimu see her wolf ears wiggling. "Most people in my tribe are canis, so we're not that different from the wolves. I think this also one of the reason why we can make strong bond with our designated wolf partner." That's actually just a reason she made a few seconds ago because she never question these kind of things before. These might be interesting questions to ask to the elders IF she somehow decided to go back to the damn place.

The conversation between the two girl delved into sharing their respective lives. Ringo was a bit hesitant at first, because she was sure before that she hated living in the north, but she found herself explaining with enthusiasm about how they make sliding cart pulled by wolves for transportation, or the hit and run method they employ when hunting the behemammoth, or the weird steal-and-be-stolen interaction between their tribe and nearby wild Yeetis. Thinking all of this things she used to do with her family made Ringo feels a bit... lonely. Fortunately, Pippi came out of her bag and rubbed his forehead at her.

Yeah, I'm not alone! I have Pippi!

Ringo then shifted the conversation to Raimu's life. She's especially interested in her life as a farmer and even asked if someday she could visit her house. Living with your own field of grain, your own chicken and your own cattle? That sounds wonderful for her!

They keep talking until they reach the airship, which by the size alone had made Ringo shudders with anxiety and excitement. Her first time riding an airship! Here goes nothing!

On the airship

The massive flying vehicle was a piece of wonder for Ringo. This steel? Flying? How can? Tobin explained about absorbing prana to counter Terra or something like that. That sounds confusing so she just pretend she didn't heard the explanation. She excitedly followed Raimu to the top level and waved her hands at random people in the far below.

Unfortunately for Ringo, her happy airship time ended when the thing began to took off into the sky. As the horn signaled the start of the process, all the bridges into the airship were withdrawn into the body. Ringo kept waving at the crowd below as the ground became further and further. Before she knew it, a severe nausea hit her stomach. It felt like something was stirring inside her! She threw up her entire meal down to the sky. Oops, she hoped no one got hit by that down there, it would suck. Seeing Ringo throwing up at the edge, a staff rushed at her with a bucket on his hand.

"Miss, no vomiting out here. If you have motion sickness then please take this bucket and go rest in your room."

"Motion sickness? You think I have motion sickness? T-this swaying is the one to bla- Urrrpph-" Ringo just snatched the bucket and rushed to their assigned quarter, passing Raimu along the way and finding Tobin alone in the quarter. How can they not feel the sway??

She stacks two pillows and two blankets before jumped onto the bed. Yes, she took the extra pillow and blanket from the other bed, since they're only three person and this room had four beds. The sensation was terrible and she felt like a slight movement would make her throw up her internal organs. She emptied whatever left in her stomach into the bucket.

Luckily Pippi seems fine. He just curled up on the bed, next to Ringo. Ringo was thinking to just let him roam freely for the rest of the night because he seems very excited to explore the airship before, but silly her for having that thought! A wolf cub walking alone on an airship would surely invite troubles. She thought of asking Tobin to take Pippi for a walk in the airship, but nah, both the man and the wolf seemed to be wary of each other so she prefered not to.

Ringo almost drifted to sleep when Raimu came back to the quarter. Raimu looks happy, good for her. Not so good for Ringo though, she felts like she missed the whole airship-experience because of her motion sickness. Raimu then offered to sell her tea, which Ringo answered with a sour "i don't want to sleep now!" With a pouting expression.

However her expression quickly changed to be more relaxed as Raimu brew the tea to prove to Tobin that the tea was not poisoned. The smell of the tea was so relaxing that she could understand why Raimu claimed it can make sleeping easier.

"Now I want to sleep!" Ringo accepted Raimu's offer and took the tea. The canis held the cup with both of her hands and sniffed the freshly brewed tea. It's nice that this was a free sample, because Ringo was totally broke right now. She spent the last of the money she got from selling bear pelts to eat in an expensive restaurant, which she immediately regret because the food was so small and not filling at all.

One sip was enough for Ringo as she was already tired from the trip and the sickness. Ringo slowly put down the cup on the nearby table and closed her eyes.

"Good... Night.."

NOTES & GOALS
- We're resuming the first quest sequence! At this point, your characters will be arriving or have arrived. If you didn't finish your interactions from NIGHT 1, you can always go into detail about that now. Flashbacks, general description, etc... I'm just throwing ideas~
- Do whatever you have to do. Recon, gather info, go straight into the pit, etc. NIGHT 2 can be the official go-in-and-get-dirty if you want. Again, up to you.
- Team Medical Emergency will arrive at a small airship dock since there's no large cities nearby (excluding City of Lights).
- IMPORTANT: If you don't personally talk to me about why you haven't posted at all, I will mark you as Unexcused. After those accumulate, I will have to ask you to leave. I want you to come to me instead of me going to you because it shows that you are dedicated and interested.
