"Maybe you oughta head up there with her and get some sleep yourself bud?" Tom put his hand on Eric's shoulder and rubbed it lightly, "We'll talk in the morning okay?"

DrTrollinski said:The next morning, surprisingly, Daniel was up first. The only reason he was up first was because he needed to pee, though. He disappeared behind a tree that was close to the camp and did what he needed to do - he made sure he had his bow with him, though. He saw that bugs had swarmed the remainder of the deer carcass, which was never a good sign. They really needed to go into town and get some cooler boxes to store meat in, at least that would help them preserve food for a little while longer. He frowned as he went up and drag the deer's carcass as far away from sigh as he could manage. It was a fair distance away, so at least they couldn't smell anything, and anything that came hunting for it would be lured away from the camp. While he was walking back, he saw a rabbit simply hopping a few feet and then stopping - awesome. This was his chance to catch breakfast for everyone. He slowly pulled out his bow, nocked an arrow, and then crouched down - he pulled the arrow back, took a deep breath, and then fired it.
He hit it.
It went straight through its body and went to the ground. Dead. He smiled proudly and ran over and picked it up, swiping the arrow from it and carrying it back to camp where he lit the fire himself, and then skinned and gutted it. The fur would make a nice hat, for sure. Once it was all gutted, he got a part of his mess kit - a frying pan - and started heating it on the fire. He prepared the rabbit for cooking, but decided that he'd wait for the others to get up before he started cooking it. (@Beowulf, @The J)/QUOTE]
