nico, my agreeable perfectionist boy, is available as a mentor/for any potential relationships! he's been in the guild for a while, is generally sweet ans easily flustered, and tends to stick to people whether they want it or not. some potential interactions with someone less amicable than him would be super interesting, i think!​

I think either Victoria or Nico would be good mentors for Ryan. Victoria's personality kinda~a resembles Ryan's, but she is opening up to others and trying to be more sociable whereas Ryan isn't. Nico is straight up opposite from Ryan, and could make for some interesting interactions, too~

i wrote up some ideas for rome's relationships with each character so far that has their persona filled out! let me know if there's anyone i missed or if any other ideas come to mind!

people he'd probably get along with:

• keiran ( VasiliasMellow ): although they're both quiet, introverted types, i could see rome being one of the older members that understands his need for space and guides him in a way that wouldn't bore him. a soft, wholesome trust.
• bell ( queanbean ): these two aren't too different, and i think they'd have a pretty easy relationship. neither particularly care for drama or unnecessary aggression, so i think they could have a calm, level-headed relationship.
• ryan ( Nautical Twilight ): these two are practically the same person when it comes to how they approach situations, and i think they'd get along well. rome could also complement his night eye quite well, with his ability to darken any room in order to help ryan hone his abilities.
• nico ( koschei. ): these two would probably work well together, just similar enough to understand each other but just different enough to not clash too often. they're both polite and organized, which would allow for a very functional team. (also a random idea i had: maybe his enhanced perception allows him to pick up on rome's shadow when it's wandering around the guild, despite it not making any noise? could be some fun interactions!)
• varion ( RedactedReject ): rome would probably have a kind, warm relationship with varion, the second magister he'd be closest to. anytime nasir wasn't in town or was busy, he'd probably go pout to varion about it and just occupy his space for hours until varion kicked him out.
• alastair ( Noivian ): while they wouldn't have a besties relationship, i think these two would have an easy time understanding each other. rome could learn a lot from alastair, especially regarding his connection to nature.

people he might clash with:

• orlena ( dendygar ): these two are exact opposites of each other, which could make a very interesting dynamic. she's honest, pure, and unselfish, while rome is cunning, experienced, and logic-driven. i could see them learning a lot from each other in different ways.
• dawn ( Ethereal_Dreams ): while their personalities may not clash very much, rome would go absolutely insane at her inability to stay organized. although he isn't a neat freak, he's not chaotically messy, so he'd constantly badger her until she cleaned her stuff up even if it wasn't magic related. in other aspects though (especially when he sees how seriously she takes her practice), he'd probably dote on her quite a bit.
• milo ( Ayama ): rome wouldn't trust milo one bit, despite not necessarily having a reason not to. his ever-changing demeanor would confuse the heck out of rome, and confusion is something rome hates experiencing. i could see them having grown closer with time, maybe with milo teaching rome to be a little less straight-faced every now and then, but overall rome would avoid him.
• crystal ( InTheSea ): crystal's intense personality would probably be a lot for rome to handle, especially since she's stubborn and a stickler for the rules. rome's been to prison and lived in poverty, so rules hold very little authority to him.

friends he has nothing but big love for:

• nasir ( eyyliner ): rome would probably look to nasir for guidance more than anyone else, considering his calm and welcoming nature. i think rome would view him as the dad he was deprived of as a kid.
• victoria ( rivers and oceans ): these two would be a very wholesome friendship, i think. rome isn't the type to go out of his way to make friends, but he's welcoming to those who he thinks are genuinely pleasant. i think he'd trust victoria quite a bit.
• shun ( Ayama ): rome would immediately think of shun as someone he ought to protect from people with ill intentions. her awkwardness and self-consciousness would remind him of himself growing up, and he'd instantly look to make sure she's alright in daunting social situations.

frenemies (we love to hate 'em):

• leigh ( Ayama ): despite their completely opposite personalities, i think leigh and rome could complement each other quite well when needed. they'd be quite the duo to meet upon entering the guild and would most likely bicker 24/7, but i think they could find comfort in each other during tough times (especially since they can bond over their british roots lol).
• ausar ( loveweaver ): rome would love inconveniencing ausar in the smallest ways whenever he could, knowing how overbearing the man is. he'd get irritated very quickly at his criticism, but would rather just toss him petty microaggressions than raise his voice. he'd appreciate his dedication, however, and would respect his drive to constantly improve.
• aria ( Noivian ): rome would not trust arya at all at first, instead keeping her at arm's length until he figured her out. once he gets to know her, however, and potentially wins her respect, he'd see her as very similar to himself and just flick her nose anytime he thinks she's trying to play him.

I think it’d be interesting for her to try to baby Ryan and always try to bug the hecky out of him, especially since he’s older than her but she’s his senior. The Black Eagle and the Bald Eagle share simmilar family-classifications untill you get to the Genus and Species types, so in a way, the bald eagle and the black eagle share the same ancestor, but have generational classifications deviating from them both such as the Red Taile
