The Association of Global Espionage (Kurt)

Benzo

Humble Blacksmith
You find yourself inside the waiting room of what looked like a standard office building... from the outside, at least. You knew better though; You weren't here to seek employment with a sales company. You were here for the Association of Global Espionage.

After you complete filling out what was being referred to as a 'Self-Agent Dossier,' you hand it back to the middle-aged male seated before you.

"Van Veren... Am I pronouncing that right?" He suddenly asks after a long moment of silently studying the dossier. "Eh, I suppose it doesn't matter. Your application looks good, no red flags, so I suppose you're Green Diamond now. Should you proceed past this point, that will be your identity for the rest of your life."

After he spoke, the liquor cabinet behind him slid aside to reveal a set of metal beams, which in turn sank into the floor. After a moment, you hear a soft ding as one final layer of metal moves aside to reveal an elevator.

The young Van Veren examined her surroundings, mentally commenting on the architecture and atmosphere of the place. Hearing her name, she nodded silently, her face adorning a neutral frown.

She wasn't entirely surprised by the elevator hiding behind the liquor cabinet. It was however, the first of its kind she'd seen.

Usually, they were behind a bookshelf.

She shoved her hands into her jacket pockets nervously, walking over and into the elevator and waiting for direction. She was extremely uncomfortable, anxious to begin. At the same time though, she was excited.

Shortly after passing through the hidden doorway, it begins to close shut behind you, a quick 'Welcome to AGE' being said to you.

Feeling your stomach lurch, you gain a sense of lightlessness as the elevator cab travelled downward. After a few minutes, you feel yourself come to a stop, the door sliding open to momentarily blind you with bright light.

After your eyes readjust to the light, you see a small blond female dressed formally in blue and silver standing before you with clipboard in hand. "Welcome, Agent Green Diamond! If you are ready, I am to guide you to the physical portion of your application." she explains quickly.

Selene nods slowly, taking in the girls appearance and glancing around the new space. Her initial queasiness dissipated, and she stepped out. "I'm Sele-...Green Diamond." She mumbled, not knowing if the girl knew who she was. "What is the physical portion?" She asked quietly.

It seemed like the girl was in a hurry. She probably had a million other things to be doing, and Selene doubted she was at the tip of the list.

Looking around revealed a rather brightly lit hallway, doors seeming to speckle either side as it stretched on. Where the hall T-ed off, you could see a blue and silver AGE banner hanging. Returning your gaze to the girl, she studies the clipboard for a moment before regarding you.

"Minut tests used to see if an Agent will survive out there. They'll most likely record your endurance and strength scores; Though I can't say I've watched a performance in progress."

Turning around after having answered you, she begins to proceed down the hallway, glancing over her shoulder. "It isn't too far ahead, Ms. Diamond."

"I see.." She replied, following the girl down the overly-white hallway. As she passed the various doors, she began wondering what was behind them. Or, more accurately, who was behind them. Some ensemble of high ranking assassins, she figured.

She shouldn't be so surprised that there was son sort of trial she had to go through. After all, they couldn't just let anyone be an assassin.

"How big is this place? How many agents are there?" Selene tended to babble in situations she was unsure of; situations that made her nervous.

"We are currently on the bottommost of seven floors for AGE. In this facility, there are... about twenty Agents, I do believe." Your guide responded as she led the way.

"As the name may suggest, though, we have secure grounds hidden around the world." she added after a short moment.

Continuing you lead you, she turns down a few different hallways before stopping before a set of double doors. Opening them reveals a rather laege, high-cieling room considering you were currently underground inside, you see a small assortment of figures, all dressed rather similarly in blue and silver.

"Ahh, good, she's here." Someone remarks from inside. "Welcome, Agent Green Diamond." You then hear echoed repeatedly by various voices.

A shy blush quickly blossoms on Selene's cheeks, embarrassed by the crowd who's gaze lay upon her. "H-Hello..." She mumbled, shifting uneasily. She pulled her hands out of her pockets, opting to hug herself instead.

All the people before her must be agents. If not, then they still looked highly capable. She felt out of place here, like she shouldn't belong to something as special as this. She was already here though, and wasn't about to turn around and run.

After greetings and pleasantries were exchanged, a male in dark blue business attire gains your attention, and indeed, that of the entire room. Glancing over everyone, he looks down at a clipboard before laying eyes upon you.

"Any prior mercenary experience here?" He asks, looking around to see the responses. "Where'd you function out of?" he added, pointing at the man holding his arm up.

"Five years as a soldier of fortune across northern Africa, sir."

"Is that supposed to impress me? Say that for North Korea and I'd be impressed- Dangerous little hellhole- Anyone else? And don't be afraid to say no; You won't leave untrained."

Selene took a spot towards the back of the room, silently shaking her head at the man. She had no formal training, but had joined an amateur thrives guild back in her hometown. Just taking trinkets and knick-knacks.

She'd been told that she was gifted in the art of stealth, so she'd found this company through a friend and various contacts. Killing wasn't usually her thing, but she wasn't afraid to do so.

No one else speaking, the AGE employee nodded and appeared to write a few things down. After a moment, he turns around and waves a hand at the wall.

After nothing happens, the man grumbles and begins what could only be described as pawing at various points of the wall. Oddly enough, you seem to see his hand physically pass through the bauge surroundings.

"Ah, here we go." He says, appearing to push as sounds of gunfire became apparent. "Bloody hate these things; Just follow me through the projection and try not to-" he began, then cursing with a loud grunt. "Clip the doorway..."

Following him through, you enter into a shooting range, judging by the targets and few figures firing off weapons. Looking back at the hidden doorway, you can see the door swung open, though the projection giving it an odd appearance, jutting randomly from the wall. To the side of the room, you see another set of much more obvious doors; Presumably the main entryway for this range.

"I've never shot a gun in my life..." The girl thought nervously, not wanting to disappoint these people with allowing her into this. She'd only ever used a knife, and rarely at that.

Once, when she was little, she had been in archery practice. She ended up shooting an arrow into another kid's foot. Long story short, she didn't have the best aim.

She realized now that the other people around her were recruits, just like her. She figured that some, like the man who'd spoken up earlier, had experience already. Others, like herself, very little. "Perhaps," she thought. "this trial is meant to weed out the weaker agents...like me.."

Upon the last of the new agents entering the range, the AGE employee turns to face you all.

"Welcome to Firing-Range SB7, Agents. As an Agent of AGE, it is imperative that you are able to deliver precise, fatal blows. In each range station, you will find a Sig Sauer P226, a Walther P5, and a set of throwing blades. Please take this moment to get acquainted with your weaponry of choice, and proceed to demonstrate your precision capabilities on the targets over yonder."

Selene stepped into a booth at the far end of the room, gingerly picking the Sig Sauer P226 and pretending to shoot.

"Seems easy enough..." She murmured, raising the gun to eye level and aiming at the target. If she wanted to do this, she'd need to learn to use at least one of these.

Taking a breath, she tried to shoot...but nothing happened. Her brows came together as she tried to figure out what was wrong, then remembered: the safety was still on. "Crap.." She whispered, flipping it off and hoping no-one had seen her failed attempt.

Now, finally ready, she aimed at the target and fired. The shot jarred her arm, and she stumbled backwards a bit. She winced, not expecting that to happen. "Did I hit it?" She wondered, checking the target.

Unfortunately, she had been a bit off. She managed to hit, instead of the dummy, the ceiling above it. Wonderful. She figured trying to use the other gun would result in the same failure, so she picked up one of the throwing knives. "Ow!" She whisper-yelled as the blade cut her finger. She was off to just the perfect start, by all means.

As you accidentally cut yourself, you notice someone appear beside you, unfamiliar from the group that you had accompanied.

"New to firing a weapon?" a slender male asks you. Looking at him, you see him wearing the same dark blue suit that seemed so popular with AGE, a small silver emblem emblazoned on his chest. "Keep two hands on your weapon, and avoid closing your eye."

Turning, the dark-haired male then motioned towards the rest of the shooters. "Notice they all aim for the head; An obvious shot, but extremely difficult. A shot to the lung will give you the same result, with a much larger target area."

After pointing at the targets ahead of you, the man leans down to whisper. "Don't worry too much; You aren't expected to be perfect. This isn't actually a test for your precision... It's a psychological test." He said, then motioning towards the mercenary from Africa. "Using two firearms, missing 60% of the shots made... Cocky in appearance, and thus not a good sign."

Agent Kurt 'Gunship' Henderson was a few stations to the right of Agent Diamond, and had a M1911 with a Ti-RANT .45 suppressor and a Crimson Trace Grip LG 617 laser sight. Due to his long-time association with The Association of Global Espionage's superiors, he wasn't given more freedom in arms and attachments. He put rounds on every target in seconds, with deadly precision. In his ears were two small, grey earpieces, to keep from being deafened from the guy using a Walther P5 next to him. He smirked as he watched a newbie agent struggle with shooting. In a suave manner, he strolled up beside her, slightly pushed aside the man already speaking to her, and leaned over her shoulder, his lips close to her's and prominent cheekbone brushing against her jawline.

"Breathe in...Unlock your arms...One eye closed...Aim, hold your breath...Squeeze the trigger."

Being brushed aside by Agent Gunship, the man stiffens slightly with a groan. "Ahh, you have the pleasure of meeting Gunship, it seems. Enjoy."

Walking aside then, Agent Bastion began giving advice as needed to other recruits on the range.

"A-Ah..." Agent Diamond wasn't exactly used to being paid attention to, much less by men. They were both obviously above her, and saw her pitiful failures. "Thank you..." She said, her words hardly a whisper.

She picked up the gun again, unsure of who's instructions to follow, and decided to just sort of mix them together. She held the firearm with both hands, bringing it to eye level and unlocking her arms as best she could, as 'Gunship' had instructed. Squeezing the trigger, she saw the bullet hit closer to home this time, entering the dummy's arm.

A smile ghosted across her face, before she looked at the ground and mumbled 'Thanks.' The other one, the slender one in the blue AGE outfit, had walked away, leaving her with Gunship; a man she doubted he liked, for whatever reason.

(Sorry for not replying earlier @Benzo! Your post got lost in my feed... ;- ;)

Kurt smiled charmingly, his jawline tightening subsequently. "Don't mention it. You're my partner, by the way - We'll be seeing alot of each other." Kurt said. "Now, I need to know you got my back. Therefore you can't fire two shots and only hit one, in the arm no less." He continued. "Whaddaya say we keep shooting?" He asks her.

Selene nodded, but was hesitant to use the gun again. "S-Should I use the knives?" She asked. They would be more silent and stealthy than a gun, of course, but she wasn't sure she'd be able to throw them.

So, this guy would be her partner it seemed. He didn't look bad, quite the opposite actually, but it was all in the personality. He appeared to be quite the charmer, a suave, sly talker, something that was bound to clash with Selene's more quiet, shy personality. They would however, be quite the pair. She didn't doubt that.

Continuing to pace to and fro behind the recruits, Bastion pauses to pull out a clipboard, appearing to jot down a few notes as he walked down the line. Pausing behind Gunship and Green Diamond, he looks up from his notes at the two.

"Can I trust you to write down her scores and show her around the facilities, Gunship?" He asks with a raised eyebrow. "The rest are ready to move on. R. wanted each new agent to be accompanied on initial contrats, after all; I imagine you've already found your partner." He says, beginning to guide the rest of the recruits out of the room.

Pausing, Bastion looks back at the two agents. "Try not to do anything too asanine with the recruit, eh Gunship?" He says before leaving.

(Think of the OOC page's tabs as different rooms or documents within AGE. As for the Emporium, regarding you as a Senior Agent Kurt, I may say you are able to borrow without limit when assisting on contracts.)

"Uhh...I had a...A thing." Kurt said, scratching the back of his neck. "The boss, he said I had to go talk to an informant down at the Ming...Sorry. You can take care of her, right?" He asked. In truth, he had no idea what he was doing with recruits, so he told a little while lie.

Diamond had decided against using the small, sharp knives, opting instead to sit on the floor and wait for her next instructions. It seemed that the recruits' time in the shooting range was over, and Selene wondered if she should simply walk away from Gunship, following the group. According to the other man, however, she needed a partner, and apparently Gunship had other things to do.

"We're going on a contract? Already?" She asked tentatively, slowly rising to her feet and looking between the two men. She was still nervous, but the people here seemed quite nice. Tolerable, at least. She wasn't sure if she was ready for a mission yet, though maybe her partner, whoever it may be, would go easy on her. Somehow, she doubted that would've been the case with Gunship...

(Eh?)

(Under the Out of Character Chat tab are different sections called The Emporium, Agent Locker, ect. These are essentially different areas within AGE Headquarters, while this main page will be used for the main plot, contracts, ect.)

Studying Agent Gunship for a moment, Bastion nods and motions for Green Diamond to follow.

"I actually don't think R.has posted any recruitment-level contracts, yet. At least, I didn't see any in the Contract Center earlier." He answered as he lead the group from the room.

Entering into a larger area, you look around and see several score of AGE officials walking about and disappearing down various hallways. Pausing, Bastion turns to hand each recruit a small folder of documents.

"Included, you will find a map of our facility, as well as a few helpful documents to get you situated into the AGE HQ. This here is the cafeteria, and unless anyone has questions, I plan on eating."

(Sorry for not making any posts today! I've had to do quite a lot actually, so I didn't get much of chance to post anything.)

Selene nodded, leaving the gun booth and following the senior agent. "Will we eventually?" She almost regretted asking. Why would she want to go on a mission? She was certain that anything she attempted would be botched horribly.

They entered a large room filled with bustling AGEnts (haha, puns), and Bastion handed out folders to everyone, explaining what was inside, then proclaiming that it was time for him to eat, subtly suggesting everyone else did the same.

Selene, as always, room the very last place in the lunch line. That way at least she could have a little more time to choose what she wanted without being urged forward by a line of impatient recruits.
