The Apprentice (Fox X Karcen)

He gave a nodded, and the haggling began, He may not have recalled her discounted price, but it still meant he could go lower, to which he did. It was like every time the owner fought to raise it, the man knew what amount to say, to make the owner feel like it wasn't as bad and moved to 25% more then what he called, until finally a price was finally settled the man paid the owner before turning to 84. It would be awhile til the owner realized that he practically gave her after agreeing to sell her for half the price she was before.

the man walked up to 84 and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Well, how about he get out of here and gets some sunlight?"

84 watched silent as a slime should be at least around everyone but her new owner, who was surprisingly good at getting a deal as even she noticed just how far down he managed to make the owner go. Still she had been sold to the man and that meant she was his at least he would let her talk, though she wouldn't do it in front of others not now at least. Instead she just nodded though the sun could be bad for slimes, but a little was just fine for long as nothing tried to absorb them.

He smiled and exited the brothel with her, there wasn't anyone close nearby to hear her speak as he spoke. "Oh, by the way, My name is Sebastian, in case I never mentioned that." he chuckled "And you?"

So her master had a name, not that she expected to use it much as that just seemed wrong to her, just like she might call the owner owner if she knew his name. Still the idea of a name was not something 84 had much of she had her number and that was all she had ever needed before as no one cared about giving a slime a name.

" 84 master" She said " Though if you don't like it you can call me whatever you want" She said unable to shake what were almost programmed responses as if Sebastian was normal.

He blinked then gave a disapproved face. "Well, of course your getting a name, Every person needs a name" he patted her head... then thought about it... "How about...... Ellie" he looked at her for her response.

84 thought about it still the idea that she would be a person rather than a possession just didn't register, if her brain was a computer every time personhood was brought up she would have blue screened. Still a name was something she could understand of course a new master would want to name their new possession to truly make it theirs, that she could understand. The name was simple so it would fit what others would expect would be the limits of slime intelligence.

" I like it master" She said honestly liking the name though it would take her a while to get used to it.

He cringed a bit when being called master, He decided to talka bout that later when they get home. for now he just walked with her. "well, I still got a sizable amount of money. "He pulled up the sack full of dough. "I suppose, I could use this opportunity, to buy some provisions and some things for you as well. "Anything in particular do you think you would need?"

84 as she still thought of herself by the number thought about it, what would a slime need they didn't need clothes or food, just liquids and some minor nutrients. Then she remembered what Sebastian had said he did for a living exploring that could get dangerous for her should they go somewhere that was not safe for one dependant on the liquid inside them for life and with no way to stop themselves from losing it.

" I would need something water tight, a gourde or jar if we go somewhere that is bad for slimes like the dessert I would not last long if I tried to keep a form. " She said

He nodded and looked at her "Hmm, that is true, the files were pretty detailed about it" he seemed to have read up on slime people from some where but if it was from a library, or any information giving place in the world, it would be impossible to not have noticed the slime people's place in society. Whatever these files were, they were made without that knowledge. "Ok then, first stop, the marketplace then" he gave a thumbs up and began walking to where he remembered walking by it once.

" Yes master" 84 said just before they got into ear shot of others where she once again became quiet. She hoped that Sebastain could act normal around others otherwise who knew what they might do if they saw him treating her as anything more than his possession. She would just have to trust Sebastain that he could act properly. She did notice the mention of files though if he had files it was odd he didn't know about where slimes were in society.

the trek to the marketplace was a short one since they heard the hustle and bustle before actually seeing it. "Wow, must me some special sale going on with the stalls today" he said as he walked through the crowds, but making sure he would see her so they wouldn't get separated.

84 made sure to stay close to Sebastian despite him being her owner it wasn't exactly safe for her to just wander about and if she got taken it would be a waste of Sebastian's money rather than her losing any freedom or being taken. Really she had little thought about herself and her life aside from not being a drain on her master and keeping him happy to her that was what she was supposed to do she was his after all.

It seemed abit troubling for the two of them to get through all these people, but as if some divine being above, saw their plight, Sebastian came across a simple peddler selling large jars and gourds for the purpose of carrying water, liquds of any kind. or more importantly, Slime girls. "Alright! here we go!" he fist pumped before walking up and holding his chin in thoguht as he observed all the wares. "mmm, needs to be big, but easy to carry.

84 looked at the jars and gourds, she would honestly rather have a jar over a gourds at least she could see in a jar, well if it was one of the clear ones; as there were many stained glass ones with swirls of color. Still simple would be best the question was what would bead easy to carry, well she could collapse herself some by expelling water and losing her shape. So in all she could pick one that was about he size of a earth mason jar, with a latching lid. it could be held in Sustains hands with ease or even put in a pack. 84 made a slight mention as she was his and everyone would not expect a slime to help her owner pick out anything.

Sebastian looked at all of the options... then pulled up a rather big jar, it came with it's own straps sot hat he could wear it on his game "this one looks pretty big" he observed it carefully. "hmmm"

84 looked at the jar Sebastian picked out interested, the strap was a big plus and with its size she could lose less liquid while going into it. Still it might be heavy during long journeys if they took any over inhospitable lands. Still it was an agreeable jar, more so than many like the stained ones or the mosaic ones.

Seeing her interest in said jar he nodded "It's settled then" he started haggling with the peddler and once again managed to get a good deal out of it. "Alright!" he opened the lid on top, it had a hinge so it stayed connected to the top of the jar. "Lets give it a try, hop on in." he tilted the top of the jar towards her.

84 nodded and put her hand on the lip of the jar then started to flow into. She still has to push liquid out of herself leaving behind a puddle of water in order to fit into the jar. When she was nothing more than a liquid which filled up the jar just below the area that would cause the jar to spill if moved she started to reform her eyes so she could see. While others might judge this as comfortable or uncomfortable 84 really couldn't call it either while in her liquid state she simply fit in it.

He smiled at her left the latch open as he put the jar on his back. "Jar check, now lets get some provisions and head out to your new home" he started walking around the market, buying all sorts of things, though the majority was food and spices. "Hey, Ellie? You don't mind if I pass up some items to you to hold? Not much and their waterproof it looks like" he held up some tiny wood and metal boxes over his head for her to see.

84 said nothing but extended thin slimy tendrils which bloomed into hands that grabbed the various objects Sebastian held out. The hands where all the size of a small child's, 84 had lost liquid to fit in the jar so she couldn't really make anything of a good size and she would be tiny when she came out.

"Thanks!" he said as he carried the majority of the stuff and started heading out. "Hmm, on the next trip back here, I should probably purchase a steed and cart... Didn't get to shop as much" he said somewhat to himself as they left the city and down a dirt trail into the plains.

84 held the items given to her drawing them close to her to save herself from being exposed, really around here was safe enough for her to travel in her normal form, she was more worried about when things got harsh still she would remain quiet about it, this was in a way safer as no one would take her like this.

The walk was long as Sebastian would try to strike up conversations with her. Trying to get as much information as he could out of her, until suddenly, he stopped... and dropped the stuff he was carrying. "Ellie... put the Lid on, and stay in that jar until I say so" his tone of voice sounded abit deeper and more serious as she heard large sounding thuds and the ground shaking a bit.

84 did as her master told her, but still the change made her worried but there was little she could do to help her master so she just closed the lid and tried to see whatever she could as he jar shook.

Sebastian moved one foot back and took a unique battle stance, this gave her a good look through her jar of what made Sebastian stop. She was able to identify quick that it was a Huge Maw-Bear! These creatures have a nasty habit of waiting around pathways for weak looking travelers carrying food. With their jagged teeth and ravenous appetites, the poor traveler rarely would escape and would end up in pieces, along with their cargo. Maw-Bears are horrifically messy eaters. It would take a group of hunters take one down of this size, that or one of the world known Alpha Hunters, and her master happened to be standing face to face with it now.

"Well, aren't you a big boy."
