The Amnesia Maze

"Congratulations." The man in the blue scrub says to Xavier. "You have completed the maze. You will now follow me." Xavier shrugs. The people he has been around, except for Fallon, have been boring. Each spoke in the same mechanical voice, regardless of what they are saying. Xavier follows the man into a room that reminded him of a hospital room. "Get in the bed." The man commands. Xavier again obeys. "Oh, sir, please be careful." Xavier jokes, raising his voice to two octaves higher than usual. The man takes a syringe off of a tray nearby. "Relax. You won't remember this." The man then buries the four inch needle in Xavier's arm, and Xavier yells out.

Xavier wakes. Where am I? He thinks, sitting up. Then he thinks, with a sinking feeling in his stomach, who am I? Panic begins to set in before Xavier manages to calm himself. I don't know who I am. But that doesn't matter. Because I know I am human. And humans can over come anything. Even amnesia.

Fallon felt a lady grab her arm, practically dragging her to an abandoned operating room. The woman looked like she hadn't sleep in weeks, her eyes drooping with weariness. Even her attitude was something less to be desired. "Where the hell are you taking me?" the small framed girl questioned to the nurse, her tone sounding puzzled and apprehensive. Just as Fallon expected, the woman didn't respond, instead she just shoved Fallon into the dimly lit room, causing her vision to become blurry. "I need you to lay down now." the woman demanded, pulling a rather large syringe out of her pocket. She sounded as if she was reading off a script, like a robot. Since she didn't possess the energy, Fallon did as what she was told and plopped herself onto the metal table. "They could have at least provided a mattress for me." she snickered, placing her hands by her sides, patiently waiting for the needle. "This may hurt." the woman assured her, squirting a liquid from the syringe to give it a test go. "No shit sher-" Fallon began, but stopped, for she felt a strong pain in her left arm. She then fell asleep.

Fallon felt as if she had been punched in the face when she woke up. She was confused, looking down at her body to make sure she was alive. "W-w-what is this place?" she asked the eerily quiet atmosphere, swinging her body around to get off the table. When she managed to complete this action successfully, she noticed that there was a mirror in front of her. The girl looked at herself, eyeing her long black hair and blue eyes. "Better yet, who the hell am I?" she asked her reflection, looking at it as if it was a ghost.

Xavier is out of the bed in a second, noticing that he has clothes on and running out of the room. He hears a voice nearby and he runs to the sound of it. Opening the door, he finds a young woman with long black hair and pale skin. Xavier is dumbstruck. Does he know her? Does he know anyone? What should he say? Should he say anything at all? Then he noticed her expression from the mirror. "I think I found a ghost." He jokes, smiling. No, a joke is not a good way to start an introduction. What made him think that? "Sorry. Do you happen to know who I am?"

Fallon found herself slowly backing away from the mirror, looking down at her small hands and she examined her body. She knew she wasn't a figment of her own existence, because that would be crazy, right? Absolutely insane, who would put someone through this? You would have to be out of your mind. She glanced back up, and was suddenly in the presence of another person, a male. She had never seen a boy before. It was as if she was a new-born, experiencing everything for the first time. "Oh hello." she said dully, tripping up a little bit on her gray sweatpants which hung low on her hips. They were clearly designed to fit a boy. She pushed a strand of hair away from her face, equally surprised that it was so black, in contrast with her pale complexion. "Yeah, Xavier." she said, looking at the name tag that was clipped to his gray sweater.

Xavier looked at the girl with wide eyes. What the hell? What is that? A girl? It's like he can't comprehend humans anymore. "You know me? Can you tell me something about me? I don't remember anything." His words become hurried. He has a chance at learning about himself. He needs to know everything she does, because he can't remember his own name. Well, now he knows it is Xavier, but he doesn't know his age, his gender, anything like. All he knows is he is Xavier and he is human.

Fallon watched this boy, her head cocking to one side like an intrigued dog. She was curious as to who he was and how he came about being here. More importantly, how she did arrive in this strange place? Deciding that it would be best if she didn't ignore him, considering he was as equally shocked and puzzled as she was, she figured that she would play his little guessing him. Looking down at his name tag once more, she grinned. "You're 22." she told him in surprise.

"Oh thank god you know who I am. I'm so sorry about bothering you, but I don't know anything about myself. Or anyone else." Then he notices her name tag. Fallon. 23. Oh. "You don't actually know me, do you? You just read the name tag." He sighs. He feels as though he is drowning. He doesn't know anything about himself, and now she almost lead him on.
