Realistic or Modern Kapai Academy: School for Rising Stars

Bread King

King of Bread
A breeze blew across the campus, carrying sounds of laughter, excitement, and general anticipation as new students excitedly looked at the school that was to be their new home, and older students looked at the school with excitement of brand new memories that they’d be sharing during a new year. Overall, Kapai Academy seemed to burst with life, welcoming its students back with green grass, blue skies and pink cherry blossom petals floating around the air, landing on the ground in piles of light pink. Teachers and students, and even a few parents made their way inside to attend the entrance ceremony for this year’s wonderful spring.

Many students did not yet know it, aside from a few rumors, but this year was going to be special. Every year at Kapai Academy, idols were produced and students debuted as rising stars. However, this year was the very first year that Headmistress Sakayuki was selecting particular students− even many without all 300 points− to join the school’s latest project: an idol group. Two idol groups, actually, with five, wonderful, girl students in one group, and five, dashing, boy students. All of them were a project to help the school become more involved with the surrounding town.

When everyone was inside, seated by grade, Headmistress stood up, and the entrance doors closed, shrouding the crowd in darkness, aside from the bright lighting on the stage. Each grade’s highest scorer on the academic entrance exams sat in chairs, lined up downstage to the right. The teachers were seated in chairs to the left. The school’s orchestra club began to play music they had learned over the summer, and the crowd clapped for Sakayuki. The applause died down, and the orchestra began to play softer, as she spoke on the microphone, to the students and teachers that were now standing.

Greetings, everyone. I welcome all of our newest students to our school, and hope that you will find us as wonderful as we find you. I welcome all returning members back to our school, and hope you will continue to prosper as idols and idol-to-be’s. This is our fifteenth year of enrollment, and already we have produced fine, excellent musicians, and hope to continue introducing even more.

The crowd applauded her, used to her speech, as she used basically the same one she always did. They expected that to be all, but when she did not sit back down, and the lights did not come back on, a murmur ran throughout the audience.

Every year is special. But this year, you may have heard about the school’s newest project. Ten students, all of whom are in this room now, have been selected to perform in a girl’s group and a boy’s group of idols, to participate in local events and increase the tourism in this town. These students were selected by their abilities as musicians, dancers and singers, combined to make the perfect groups, which we are sure the general public will adore. Students, please come to the stage as I read your names, so the audience can have a sneak peek at your brilliance.
First, we would like our members of, ‘Rainbow Lullaby,’ to come forward: Diana Holland, May Whitethorn, Primrose Yamanoko, Mistie Skyes, and Mimi Minako. Next, we would like the, ‘Crystal Princes,’ to come forward: Mike Aruba, Kona Hanazowa, Kyon, Nathanial Morrison, and Tatsu Nijiro.

When the students stood on the stage, the audience applauded them, and the entrance ceremony finished, and everyone began to clear out, except for the selected students

Tatsu Nijiro

"This looks kinda silly, but I guess I'll hang around for a bit!"

Tatsu was playing on his phone when he was called, and he ran up last minute, putting his phone in his back pocket and smiling at the audience, hearing a few snickers when he rather clumsily appeared on stage. He was ready to get out of there, but unfortunately the headmistress decided to hold him and the rest of the group back.
Man, what a pain, he thought to himself. He looked at the other members, and saw that many of them really had the look of stars. He had the look of a weird, white-haired delinquent who forgot to comb his hair before rushing to school on his bike and half the size of his normal breakfast. That’s pretty much what he was.

He decided to look on the positive, he was going to be late to class, and for a good reason this time. At least he had that much. But he was confused, because he was one of the most trouble-making kids in the school. He had a bad reputation of slacking, skipping and snoozing during classes. He made good grades, but he put little to no effort in getting them, not bothering to try hard if he was being taught something he already knew, or something he wasn’t interested in.

He wondered if his new band mates were as prince-like and annoying as they looked, but thought it might be fun to stay around a bit.

Kyon stood beside the rest of the Crystal Princes, wondering what each of them were like. He wanted to know if anyone else played guitar or knew how to dance. To Kyon, some of the Crystal Princes seemed kind of odd, but not necessarily in a bad way. He really liked people that stood out in the croud. Wow. These people must have some serious talent! Kyon thought, his anticipation to get to know them cauing him to become a bit jumpy. I hope that I can really become friends with them. He looked around frantically at the large room, wondering what the rest of the Academy looked like.

Primrose Yamanoko

Primrose shyly stood on the stage, she was nervous and felt great relief as the audience cleared off. She looked at her group hoping to get along with each and everyone one of them. She took a deep breathe and imagined herself playing the bass to calm herself down. However her mind was preoccupied now with the sound of bass in her mind. Then she quickly regained her self and stood awaiting for further instructions.

Nathaniel Harrison

Nathaniel walked onto stage with a straight back and his head held high. He wasn't an overly confident person by any means and he hated to feel like he was being put on display. But if it got him off this stage and away from these people, then he would do what ever it took to get it done. He stood there looking out at the other students, the lights a little to bright for him as they glared on his glasses, and took a glance at them all. He felt like they were judging him and it made the hairs on the back of this neck stand up. And he hated that. To keep his mind off of things, she shoved his hands into his pockets, and tapped him fingers against this leg. He played invisible keys on his legs as he used that as way to keep his mind off of this uncomfortable feeling. Nathaniel, tilted his head a bit as he looked to his 'team mates'. He wasn't sure what that was supposed to mean to him, but as long as they stayed away from him and kept their noses out of his business, things would go just peachy. Now if the headmaster would just shut up already, he could get off this things and head to his dorm to study.

Diana Holland

How's It Goin'?

Diana fiddled with her hoodie strings a the headmistress spoke. It was mostly stuff she already knew so she didn't pay too much attention. She was too busy looking around at the other chosen students, some seemed disinterested or didn't seem to be taking this seriously. She pulled out a lollipop and unwrapped it before pocketing the wrapper.
"Hmm, is there any reason we are still here? Or can we go to class?" she said and stood up crossing her arms. She had her ever apparent smirk on her face as she looked across to the Rainbow Lullaby girls before studying the Crystal Princes. They were the ones she was sto be working with?

Wills Tsukoia

Wills glowed with excitement, another year had already come. He drove down the road, exited to see what the new batch of kids had to offer. He always had a great fascination with the first day, nobody new anyone and grudges had yet to form. He'd woken up earlier then usual but still stuck to his usual attire, a stripped t shirt and a white button down to put over it.

Once he arrived in the parking lot, he lifted himself from his Shelby AC Cobra. Something he'd bought for himself as a gift. He greeted his fellow coworkers, Crystal Princess and Rainbow Lullaby, telling them each about the excitement built up in him for the coming year. He sat himself in the seats to the right, peering at the students and wondering which one of them was going to be his favorite. Wills had an awful habit of picking favorites, but he never picked least favorite.
They're not my least favorite till the end of the year.

Once the ceremony began to end, Wills rushed off to his class to quickly set up as much as he could before the students would come flooding in.

Kyon stood, leaning against the wall on the stage of the auditorium. His face seemed to glow with a bright, innocent smile. He thought to himself, Is that all? I'm dying to get to class. He figured that he probably still had a while to wait before he could go to class, so he stood against the wall, waiting and waiting. He was always optimistic, so he thought that he had been given this time to think about how he will begin his stay here at the academy.

Faerie Haruhiko

Faerie stood by the side watching, the students chosen for the team's go up. She couldn't wait to teach them the joy of dancing, moreover rewards of working hard. She knew she would have no qualms about who she would get along with in the groups. Near the end of the ceremony she stood up to go to the dance studio. She knew she would have to prepare for the next lesson.

She arrived at the Studio, and did a few warm ups, before setting up some music in the background. As the music started she performed the set movements in her mind, every beat counted, if she messed up she would fall behind. Her movements were precise and accurate. Sweat started dripping down her face as she danced, but she didn't care, it was the sign of working hard. She took a deep breathe after the dance number. Then sat on the ground, wiping the sweat of her face, waiting for the students to come.

"Alright," Headmistress Sakayuki began excitedly, "You will not be placed randomly in home room classes as many other students are. Because I want you all to get to know each other, and become friends together, you will be placed in a separate homeroom from the rest of your peers. You will be in most of the same classes as the rest of your fellow idols, and you all have after school practices every now and then. I expect you all to excel, and if you have any questions or concerns, I need you to talk to me in my office, or send me an email."

She smiled and turned to leave, but then turned back as though she remembered something important.

"Tatsu Nijiro, please come with me for a moment before heading to home room. I need to speak with you about your status in this group, if you even plan on trying to stay with them."

Tatsu Nijiro

akise_aru_full_881071.jpg

Tatsu looked at his fellow idols once more, this time with a smirk on his face, knowing that he was probably going to be kicked out of the group because of a mistake. His name itself was not common, but the characters in his name were easily mistaken for other names. He was a slacker; A loser; A non-motivated idiot. He laughed, and everyone around him laughed at his jokes and sass towards the teachers, but Tatsu knew what they all think. He was completely different from his family in the way that they were all successful in life, and he was a loser.

"Have fun with your idol group," He said, following Sakayuki to the backstage.

"Mr. Nijiro," She began, "You are one of the biggest delinquents of this school. I'm sure you know that. I'm sure you also guessed that you're being here is a mistake. Tatsuo Nijin was supposed to take your place. He excels in both academics and music, and he has good respect towards teachers and manners to everyone. You weren't originally supposed to be here. However, I think maybe you are supposed to be here. I would like you to use this opportunity to learn from your fellow Princes, and learn to get yourself the manners of a prince. Your notoriousness might even help increase the popularity of the group, spreading the name to even people like you. Now get to class, and try to learn from them."

Tatsu listened to her. He could tell that she didn't really mean it, but she was just trying to hide the fact that the school made a mistake. Yet, even though she didn't mean it, he was slightly motivated to try to keep up with his new colleagues. This might actually be kinda fun, even if he was a mistake in the system. He wasn't going to try for Headmistress Sakayuki, his family, his fellow princes, or anyone else. He was gonna try for himself.

"This looks kinda silly, but I guess I'll hang around for a bit!"

Mimi Minako

Mimi was shocked to find out that she was one of the girls chosen to be a part of the idol band. She kept looking around the crowd in disbelief to see if maybe they had called the wrong person, but when the gestured for her to come up and join them, she knew this was real.

Mimi slowly walked over, covering her face with her big scarf, feeling her face turn twenty shades of pink, "H-Hi, guys.." she whispered softly, looking down. Her high-pitched voice was slightly muffled and obscured by the scarf around her mouth.

These people seem nice enough, she thought to herself. They all looked kind and intelligent, and good at music. Maybe this wouldn't be too bad after all.
