Fandom Terraria: Journey In The Otherworld

"Gotcha..." Teruya shuddered as he would explain and elaborate - it's time for a short wander, but not too far out, while things are to be sorted out indoors...! "...Welp, best take the time we have to breathe, I guess. Probably best to stay as close to here as possible." He said to Christian, though after speaking those words, he would yet shrug in uncertainty - there's just too much that could go wrong in a moment's notice. "What do you think?"

Thinking about his new friend’s words for a second, Christian took a deep breath and managed to lift himself from the bed. “Yeah, I guess a little wander won’t hurt.” He shrugged. He lifted his arms to stretch his back, gritting his teeth and grunting a little, before proceeding to get up from the bed and approach Teruya. “Let’s go.”

"Right, let's go!" Teruya would nod and promptly head towards the door - the exit, and opted to find out, just 'what' was the world around them at this moment in time like? What will he find on the other side...?

The first thing that lies ahead of them... is the ocean itself. A calm, soothing view of the blue waters, where aquatic life is most abundant. As Teruya and Christian step out of the Guide’s cabin and into the warm sands of the beach, they start to feel like they’re in peace.

The only thing out of place here? The crash airplane onto their left. The burning remnants of the airliner sits still at the edge of the beach, smoke still spewing from the crash site, bloodied corpses still floating in the waters. “That thing’s still burning?” Christian asked, glancing at the broken plane.

"Geez, however hard it broke it broke 'real' damn good." Teruya said honestly, sighing and then glancing out to the outer reaches of the ocean they had met - sand under their feet and fresh air, no less peace and quiet... "...So far so good otherwise."

Eventually, they hear the sound of a door opening behind them. They turn around to face the guide’s hut to see the guy himself exiting his home, holding a piece of brown cloth with two hands. “I‘ve gotten the tools!” The guide announced, as he approaches the two survivors. “Ah, perfect! Let’s see what you have got to offer.” Christian responds as he walks towards the guide.

"Ooh, sweet!" Teruya headed to the guide as well, voicing excitement in his tone as he would do just that and followed Christian - he frankly had no idea what was expected, but these 'tools' the guide speaks of... how can he contain himself - the wonder of it all?

The Guide quietly places the brown cloth on the sand and opens it. There, he reveals a set of copper tools for our two survivors to see; two copper daggers, two copper pickaxes, and two copper axes. “These are not much, but it id better than nothing after all.” The guide comments as Christian began to reach for the tools.

"I mean - hey, might as well use 'em, no matter how good or bad they are. After all, everyone's gotta start somewhere!" Teruya reached out for the tools as well, intending to take one of each for his own use - you know, as Christian is probably doing.

With their own set of tools to help them survive the island, they stood up with confidence in their eyes, ready to survive on this island. “I wish you two the best of luck on this island.” The Guide said to the duo. “If there are any questions about this island, please do not afraid to ask me. I will remain here on this beach.” Christian nods in acknowledgement.

Teruya nodded as well, cracking a smile. "Gotcha! I guess we'd better get started on learning the 'laws' of this land - and see what we can make of the world around us..." He trailed off into his own thoughts, and with his tools in tow, retreated out of the house, thinking of putting the pickaxe and/or axe to use right away.

Bidding farewell to the Guide, Christian follows Teruya, not hesitating to bump into his thoughts. “First thing’s first. We gotta make our own shelter.“ Christian said, stating the obvious. “You ready to go kill some trees?”

"Absolutely! We've gotta have some kind of roof over our heads - let's not waste any time cutting them out of the ground, and who knows? Maybe we can plant some new ones when they're down!" Teruya raised his axe high and chuckled. "Let's just at least leave 'some' trees around - gotta breathe, after all!"

Christian nods, raising his axe as well. “Let’s go find ourselves a forest!” He takes the lead as he walks away from the ocean and the Guide’s hut, searching for the end of the beach and an entry to the forest.

Teruya would follow Christian's footsteps passively, just opting to look around and take in the surroundings of the world as they both went - and when they would arrive to the forest, well... Chop, chop.

After a short walk, Christian Miller and Teruya Inata discover the sweet-smelling, peaceful forestlands of the island. Trees abundant, grass growing beautifully, and birds chirping.

Christian takes a deep breath of the air, with a big and satisfied grin on his face. “Ah... damn, this place is so, so beautiful.” He comments as he turns to Teruya. “You’d almost never find this kind of beauty in Florida.”

Teruya sighed and nodded. "I'll say, it looks pretty nice here. Don't get much of this back home, either - everything back home is so much different from this, no less packed!" He commented before wandering up to the nearest tree he could find and slicing into it from the bottom with his axe.

As Teruya starts chopping down his first tree, so does Christian. Eyeing towards a Yellow Willow tree, he spit onto the palm of his hands, maintain a firm grip of his copper axe, and starts chopping. For each swing, he makes a deeper cut onto the trunk of the tree until the cut got deep enough to compromise the integrity of the tree. The tree lean towards Christian, who quickly steps out of the way so it wouldn’t smash him. “TIMBEEEEEER!” He bellowed as the tree came crashing down.

Teruya heard the falling tree and swiftly moved out of the way. "Well, alright then!" He said comically as he laughed it off, and kept swinging into his tree, eventually cutting it down and leading to its descent from where it rested on its trunk to the ground level.

They continue on cutting, and cutting, and cutting. A few hours of several trees cut down and a few apples falling on their heads later, they had cleared out a small patch of the forest of its trees, leaving only little trunks and a lot of fallen trees. “Well... that was backbreaking.” Christian noted as he stretched his back, his whole body covered in his sweat and his face a little burned from the sun. “But... I can say with confidence that we have more than enough trees to make our little home!”

Teruya was now laying on his back after the cutting of those several trees, seeming quit exhausted himself. "Yeah... We've definetly got enough wood here for something, but... How about a rest before we actually get to put it together? Surely I'm not the only one out of us worn out..."

“Eh... yeah, sure.” He agreed, as he laid onto the grass. Looking up to the sky, he began to close his eyes and to relax. Little bunnies hopped around them and birds flew as they take their well-earned break, as the sun begins to set at the mountain tops.

Teruya remained laying on the ground for a while - just regaining his energy while nature in the forms of leftover trees, birds and little critters like rabbits came near and past while the sun would begin to set. Teruya took that as an indication - maybe it's best to get something up before night falls - after all, who knows what horrors this world may hold... Instigated by this, he leapt to his feet and opted to begin using the wood to build an admittedly makeshift and improvised house. It wouldn't be much, but it would do the job, right?

Squish.

Squish.

Squish.

AC5E667D-22C0-4610-9B25-E26C1F63571A.pngThe duo hear an unfamiliar-sounding squish approaching them. Christian quickly lifted his head to see the source of the sound. It was a big, green slime... thing. Approaching them with some sort of intent. Christian doesn’t know what it wants, but he isn’t eager to find out, as Teruya see him draw out his copper short sword and point at the slime.

Though Teruya would see Christian doing such, he himself seemed quite occupied with what he was already doing, and opting to focus on that very thing, he did nothing about their 'visitor' in the form of the green slime. The shelter is more important, he thinks, so in hopes that Christian can handle the slime, Teruya kept focusing on it with intent to finish it for now.
