Tell me about your OCs

Aukanai

You are lost
Right now, I'd love to hear about some people's characters. Their personality, history and how you ended up creating them, maybe even memorial events that happened in a roleplay.

Plus, I'd like to talk about my OCs with others and find out what people generally like or dislike about my characters.

BONUS: Send me a picture of them and I'll draw them - I'm on a drawing spree aha.

I have so many characters I've forgotten many of them.

The most interesting inspiration I've had though was when I got into brony stuff. The night after I first saw it, I dreamed I was an alicorn (winged unicorn), one of several, each representing a major arcana card (except there were 24, probably because I found 3 gaps in the current set), and I was the alicorn representing Temperance. From this I created Shadow Sage. Shadow is the mix of light and dark so it seemed to fit. She shimmers between black and white depending on how the light lands. Her mane and tail are like fiery water. The cutie mark a katana and quill crossed over an open book sitting on a locked book. She has lots of seeming contradictions about her. She is has many traits that are feminine yet also many that are masculine. She can be calm, caring, gentle, and diplomatic, yet when roused she shows how much she loves a good fight. She loves being active outdoors, yet also pursues more intellectual pursuits and often hikes through the woods with a book to read during the breaks.

I don't have a picture of her, but if you want to draw one, feel free, though I vastly prefer the show's look over realism in this case.

I'll be back with another character later.

Hmm...I suppose I might as well.

I've only one character, that character being Davis Butler, a 38 year old. In Live Roleplay, he lives in a log cabin in the middle of the woods. Seems odd, and yes, it is. I chose not to live in the City, as it would make for character backstory. He lived in the City for 15 years, and decided it was extremely depressing and immoral, so he just walked away from it all. He walked into the nearby forest, and walked. He picked a spot near a lake, and built his log cabin. His cabin had 2 rooms, a living room and a storage room. From then on, he met many magical creatures.

A moment in Davis' life was a (15?) year old walked up to his doorstep, and adopted him as her father. She built herself a room, and that leads up to now.

I don't use pictures for roleplay, instead I tend to describe.

I'd love to talk about characters I've created!!

My most favorite ones are the ones I don't really put in role-plays on here. They're my babies that I save for certain ones. Those favorites have the names of Vandyke, Bolton, Solana, Cian, and Reva. They are literally my little clan of trouble.

VanDyke hates to be called by his whole first name (he like everyone else thinks it should be a last name- not a first) so he goes by Van and will throw a fit at whomever calls him otherwise. He was actually created for a group roleplay by Typist that was an entertainment school of sorts. Because of that he's very big on Music. He's learned how to play multiple instruments and uses those skills to create his own type of music which he's very protective of. Personality wise he's a complete asshole. He isn't exactly the best with emotions or just being nice in general so talking to him is mostly getting insults and sarcasm though he tends to lighten up on that the closer you are with him.

Bolton is another one who doesn't like being called by his first name (because of history) so he goes by 'Boo'. Just like Monster's Inc's little one. It's funny because he looks like he could be related to her xD      Unlike his best friend Van, he's the complete opposite. He's hardly ever serious (when he is, it's bad) and is the king of making jokes. However he doesn't exactly have all of his screws screwed too tight.

Solana is the third of the trio. She's very polite, sweet, and doesn't necessarily have a back bone. She lets everyone walk over her- always excusing it as helping. She was the girlfriend of Boo though she has some history with Van. Solana can sometimes suddenly have some kind of surge and kick ass but she's more so of a 'damsel in distress' type. If I were to critique her then it would be that.

Cian and Reva were the oldest of the group though not related. Both are charming, smooth talkers that can also be conniving. They are able to betray easily and have no remorse for those they hurt. They were my badass little things!

But seriously, I would love to hear about your characters too! I just love talking about characters lol

I have a few that I can say I'm proud of.

Lyle Andercres

Lyle is portrayed as a young upstart adventurer; lively green eyes, fair skin, and brown, unkempt hair. who wants to see the world and beat up some bad guys. At the same time though, he unwittingly handicaps himself in doing so, for you see, Lyle is an idiot.

He may dress like your typical knight; shiny armor with a sword on his side, but look closely, and you will see that Lyle's armor is made of plastic, and his sword, while metal, has had the edges on it dulled, making it no more effective than a steel paddle.

No matter how many times Lyle will get his butt handed to him in a fight, he'll always maintain the belief that he is the world's strongest swordsman, despite having no formal training, no killing intent, and generally being hilariously incompetent.

Despite all his flaws, though, Lyle does have one thing going his way; his sheer durability, and inability to register pain or danger.

He is the epitome of the Iron Buttmonkey with a heart of gold.

Here is picture.

I have innumerable characters and I could go on for hours about them, but to keep things reasonable, I'll just mention my most recent one: Chrysanta.

Chrysanta is an anthropomorphic (furry) dragon with golden scales. She wields a large battleaxe and has very tough scales, making her a dangerous opponent. Still working on her outfit, but I'm considering an armored dress, if I can manage to draw it. She has a rather carefree attitude and likes to travel, accepting most challenges that comes her way but very rarely challenging others. She never knew her actual parents because she hatched with a tribe of mountain cats who raised her. As part of one of the tribe's traditions, she wears a pair of matching white feathers tied to her horns, which basically indicate that she's single. She's very protective of these feathers and can become incredibly violent towards anyone who might harm them. Like, to the point of removing limbs.

She was inspired by a character I made on Skyrim: an argonian warrior using heavy armor and a battleaxe, as well as alteration magic.

I haven't drawn her just yet, but once I do I can probably put a picture up. I'm not sure if you draw anthros or dragons, but I like sharing art anyway.

I am super happy about my lovely boy Alexander Yalesman at the moment

i call him Fleek Sunflower when i do shitpost drawings  because i keep drawing him with thin curved eyebrows wh o ops

He's a young fellow with telekinesis living out with his father and many siblings on a sunflower farm of Kansas. He's super skittish at the moment, but he really likes to see the human in everyone, the good side. He just recently started to really get a hold of using his powers, since he doesn't really have a mentor for it and his dad is trying to be supportive but also had no idea about it other than a bunch of google searches.

Alex got quite the short-temper though and gives a loud scolding if need be, usually having to act as the judge if something happens in the house between his siblings . His family is pretty large with his dad remarrying (7 kids, wow!), two older than him, 3 boys and 3 girls each, having the mix match between ages and he just falls under the third child.

I am trying to get my tablet working to get a good color palette for him but he has really thick dusty blond hair and grey eyes, though one has a defect of having a fleck of green around the iris in his right eye which he believes came along down his mother's side of the genes, and a gathering of freckles on his cheek and parts of his body (but i keep doing full face freckles whoops).

He wears a lot of his work clothes more often, white-washed jeans, tan workboots and whatever long/short-sleeved button up he can get his hands on. Though he works mostly from morning to evening, he has a sweater to bring along before.

He's brand new and i really really like this sunflower man a lot, just recently started to use him. I was scrolling through a bunch of photos of flowers when i was trying to think of a character and i fell in love with a pretty patch of sunflowers and wanted to use that as a bit of a theme.

and tis my son:

honestly, I have over 240 OCs... I doubt I could name them all xD

they're all too different. In the timeline and world they live, how they tick, etc. sure, some have similarities, but I try my best to give every Character something that just says 'oh, it's them'. For example, my werewolf Mayflower is known for her rainbow stockings she adores wearing in human form, despite being a very mature and serious person.

I have several frequently used OCs as well. Just one or a couple just can't handle all the vast amounts of genres of RP out there. However, I realized that I do tend to make characters that are more mundane and ordinary. Recently I've tried to make my characters stand out a tiny bit more.

My old classic, though, is a wandering scavenger and his dog. He doesn't really have a purpose and just wanders, sometimes doing a bit of good for the world, sometimes not. As generic as they might seem, I always give my characters some kind of distinguishing quality, whether it's good, bad, or neither. For example, the wanderer has a handcrafted crossbow that fires irradiated pieces of rebar and wears flight goggles, and his dog is always wearing a scarf.

I have innumerable characters and I could go on for hours about them, but to keep things reasonable, I'll just mention my most recent one: Chrysanta.

As promised, here is my drawing of Chrysanta.

i have like over 110, maybe even over 120 characters, if i tried to talk about them all i'd be here all day lol

so i'll just talk about one of them. ...or at least try to - a lot of my characters are connected together in some way or another, so it's gonna be hard to talk about just one of them haha

anyways, i'll talk about ana! she's a demon who has the ability to bring the dead back to life, and despite being a demon and all she's actually pretty nice, though she tends to keep to herself and not much is known about her past.

she often uses her power to bring back people's dead loved ones, and while she does manage to do it without any problems most of the time, there have been some attempts that... well, let's just say that they didn't turn out so well. she's trying to change that, though! two people she didn't quite manage to bring back to life perfectly are two other characters of mine, and one of those is a character i made very recently o:

the idea for her came about while i was coming up with the backstory for another character of mine... which as you've probably guessed, is the OTHER character that she didn't manage to bring back to life quite right. i was thinking about what his backstory could possibly be, then i thought 'what if he was brought back to life?' and of course, i needed a character who would be capable of doing such a thing because i didn't have any characters that could do that at the time... and thus ana was created.
