Dog Tags. A necklace made of a high-durability chain and a plate,with his name,date of birth,and rank etched into it,with his division's emblem etched on the second plate.


HECA Custom. To better serve his role as a flash-assault trooper or commando,Oscar demanded he be issued an HECA with priorities on mobility. The suit has shotr-burst jump jets that utilize massive bursts of hypercompressed air,and is significantly less bulky than the standard model. Defense is sacrificed for the flexibility and mobility demanded,and as such relies on his partner more for defense than the suit he wears,which might as well be an HES with a few obligatory armoured plates and some bells and whistles,including the aforementioned jump pack,and an arm-mounted cutting laser.


Multi-Purpose Close Defense System. An overly technical name for one of the simplest devices forged by man: A knife. The knife's blade can vibrate in a sawing motion at hypersonic frequencies,and has microserrations,rendering the blade frighteningly effective at cutting just about anything. It requires a power supply to operate the vibrations,but it is perfectly serviceable without. Near the point of the single-edged blade is a hole,which fits a lug on the scabbard,which is rigid and squared off,allowing them to operate as wire cutters when combined. Finally,the power supply can be removed and applied to any number of portable appliances.


L/X-RC-5000m20*150mm "Gungnir" Experimental Portable Kinetic Cannon. This hulking beast of a weapon is a proof-of-concept,fresh out of the TFEC R&D labs,with the aim of producing a high-impact kinetic weapon that can be rapidly deployed by infantry forces. Entrusted to Oscar and Dahlia for field testing on commando raids,they've used it to put very large holes into hardened targets from five kilometers out,universally causing enough damage to the target,and anything behind it,to render it nonfunctional,if not outright destroyed. Currently,it may only fire spikes or fragmenting rods,but the TFEC is looking into producing explosive,or other,more exotic rounds. It's lovingly called the "Rail Cannon". Which,technically,is a correct technical designation. The weapon is deployed from the shoulder,much like an ancient RPG-7.


D-6 Experimental Plasma Charges. Once again,something from TFRC R&D. In an ingenious stroke of inspiration,the eggheads in the labs decided to solve the issue of coolant by simply removing reusability from the equation. The result was a high-yield explosive device,the size of a platter,contained in a liquid helium-filled capsule to keep it stable until deployment. When removed from the capsules,the charges will,invariably,detonate within five minutes,with destructive force on par with an orbital strike from a destroyer's main gun,or until violently disturbed. Entrusted to Oscar for when a whole damn position needs to be erased,the D-6 charge has seen successful deployment,although one can only be described as "Terminally wasteful",as an entire capsule of five charges was detonated on a single point.


S/M-CRB-300m20nm "Hurricane" Rapid Assault Weapon. Oscar's personal weapon,which compliments his Omega Gene remarkably well. Although it has a shorter effective range than most weapons of it's class,the Hurricane has a MASSIVE ammunition block,mounted parallel to the entire length of the weapon's body on the side,reminiscent of ancient helical magazine fed weapons. The weapon features a folding stock,four static barrels,which are fired in turn,and each has a heat sink,in an effort to manage heat,as the weapon fires at speeds in excess of five thousand rounds per minute,allowing it to utterly dominate close-quarters engagements,and stand a chance in medium range combat through sheer weight of fire. It is specially issued to shock troopers,commandos,and boarding specialists,due to the close quarters at which they fight. Lightly armoured targets have been described as being reduced to "Chunky chili" after a half-second puff. Users have described it as having their own personal gattling cannon. Recoil,however,is a very significant issue,and so short bursts are required to maintain accuracy,even at a range where a knife would be more appropriate.


Wallet. Although not carried on-mission,for obvious reasons,Oscar has a wallet,even though he's more-or-less a human weapon. In it he keeps some cash he calls his "Walking around money",and numerous cards,ranging from various licenses,ID,and credit and debit cards. Most remarkably is a photo of his family,long since dead.


AR Communication Device. A communication headset that links to a personal data unit. It fits over the left side of the face,with a holographic visor working with the microphone,data unit,camera,and speaker to facilitate communication with others. When engaged,the visor covers the left side of the face,keeping the right side free to observe the world.


Personal Data Unit (PDU). The PDU is a prolific piece of hardware. A wrist-mounted quantum computer,the device is strapped to the forearm,and produces a virtual keyboard when input is needed,and projects the video output as a hologram above,with or without a simulated screen. These devices see use in all walks of life due to how useful they are,and how a computer can interface with damn near anything these days,up to and including many personal weapons,operating system permitting.


Civilian Clothes. When not on duty,Oscar wears a semiformal suit consisting of a white shirt,black waistcoat and trousers,and his parade boots,which look more like shoes than boots.


World of Birth: Titan


Omega Gene: Offense: Blitzkrieg. Oscar's Omega Gene is manifested as greatly strengthened legs and superhuman reflexes. This enables him to move,on foot,faster than any other human who has ever lived,and have the coordination to not fall over while doing so. The reflexes also allow him to react to otherwise impossible occurrences,up to and including dodging tank shells.


Background: Oscar was born on Titan,Jupiter's largest moon,and the largest moon in all of Sol. Due to the size and density of the ball of rock,it has a gravity profile nearly identical to Terra's,making it one of the first truly permanent Extraterrestrial Settlements established by humanity. The settlement was established for two reasons: To prove that they could,and to exploit the gasses found in Jupiter's atmosphere.


Unfortunately,Titan received about as much attention as the other lunar settlements in the system,which is to say "Damn near none". Titan was reduced to glorified temp housing for the people that operated and maintained the orbital stations that swarmed around the gas giant,dipping giant suction devices into the planet's atmosphere to extract the precious gasses. Every six Terran Months,the shift switched,allowing the workers on the stations to return to Titan,and bringing in fresh workers to take their place. At any given moment,everyone in the Jupiter System was either on the stations,or on Titan,split down the middle.


Oscars parents were gas miners,just like everyone else on Titan. Working conditions were horrible,and living conditions were only marginally better. It was Hell. It was slave labor. But,what could they do? Incite another Martian Incident? Get crushed under the mighty heel of the TFEC? No one wanted that. It'd be futile. A waste. And so,the people of Titan slaved away,gathering gas for masters that would dispose of them as soon as it conveniences them.


As soon as he turned twelve,Oscar was put on the rotation schedule. Before he got even a single shift in,his Omega Gene was made apparent. While he was assisting in the changing of an extractor tank,the restraints snapped,causing it to fall over. In an interview later,Oscar said that time seemed to slow to a crawl,and he ran out the airlock,calling for everyone to evacuate. The other workers saw a vaguely human-coloured blur spouting accelerated gibberish. When the shift was changing that fateful day,Oscar was gagged and ushered off to an escape pod,flanked by a pair of suits and two soldiers with light blue pauldrons. The pod was launched,then recovered by a frigate,which proceeded to head for Titan.


An hour later,the ship touched down on the moon's surface,and a girl Oscar's age was led into the ship. As soon as the outer airlock sealed,the ship took off once more. The following flight was long,but Oscar couldn't keep track of just how long. There was no way to tell the passage of time,and any attempt to ask the time was met with a buttstroke upside the head. Eventually,however,they docked with a much larger ship,a dreadnought or carrier,by Oswald's reckoning.


Over the next four years,Oscar and the girl,who he learned was Dahlia Cortes,they were subject to brutal training under uncaring taskmasters,meat grinder surgery and borderline blind chemical therapy in order to bring out their inherent superhuman abilities in order to create supersoldiers. They learned that they could only rely on eachother,since they were seen as disposable by their superiors. They eventually left the training that the TFEC provided for them,and were examples of the absolute limits of the human condition. Oscar was a walking monsoon of carnage,while Dahlia was a mobile energy shield projector,invaluable for any platoon in need of support. However,more than their bodies have changed. Now,they firmly believed that the Hell they endured was worth it,because now they may act to further the needs of humanity in a galaxy united against them.


Over the next seven years,Bates and Cortes worked as a pair to strike covertly against enemy positions,VIP's,and supply lines,as well as providing specialist support to standard divisions in significant battles. Due to their exemplary work in the field,the pair are entrusted with numerous experimental weapons for field testing,resulting in horror stories amongst Terra's enemies of ghosts in the night that bring sudden and total destruction in a flash,never to be seen by living eyes.


But,if the other races of the galaxy can work together,why can't humanity? This question has always niggled at the back of Oscar's mind. He tries to push it aside,but it always lingers.

HECA Custom. While Oscar demanded mobility,Dahlia demanded protection and storage. As such,her suit is significantly larger than most other HECA suits,primarily because of the extra armour that protects the hollow storage spaces at strategic locations on the suit. With the suit being so heavy,the suit needed a ramped up power supply to feed the actuators to enable motion. This suit's primary purpose is to provide heavy support for when stealth fails.


Breach Hammer. An invasion tool that is easy to weaponize,the breach hammer is a medium sized mallet with an impact-triggered,high-tension spring-loaded spike inside the head,attached to a jack for resetting. One good swing will drive the six inch spike through just about anything you can name,although the spike needs to be manually reset with the jack after every impact.


L/X-SR-7500m1250mL "Harpoon" Experimental Ferrofluid Anti-Materiel Device. A weapon out of the TFEC's R&D labs,this weapon set out to answer the question of penetration with trauma,while maintaining mobility. The weapon is loaded with several canisters of ferromagnetic fluid,known as ferrofluid,and 1250 milliliter volumes of the substance is fired down the barrel via magnetic induction as a superheated jet with every pull of the trigger. The weapon is hamstrung by the exotic ammunition used to feed it,as well as the significant cycle time between shots,but field testing has confirmed that it is the one sniper weapon that features the absolute most penetration in the entire galaxy.


M/L-GSAW-750m15nm "Monsoon" Rotary Assault/Support Weapon. One of the largest infantry portable guns in the TFEC's arsenal,the Monsoon is the product of the train of thought of "What if the GAU-8 Avenger was a mass accelerator?" This is the result. Firing at a withering ten thousand rounds per minute,this weapon gets the job done by simply unmaking infantry targets foolish enough to expose themselves to it,and can even engage medium armoured assets thanks to how the volume of ammo dispensed behaves much like a deep-core drill. However,penetrating the hull of a medium vehicle will take time that would only be afforded in an ambush or flanking maneuver. Since it's impossible to aim conventionally with this weapon,it has a computer that wirelessly feeds the weapon's barrel orientation to the user's visor,making a display not dissimilar from first-person shooter video games.


S-GMG-100m40*75mm "Fracture" Infantry Dispersal Device. The Fracture is a forearm-mounted grenade machine gun,with a rate of one-hundred and twenty rounds per minute,it can deliver explosive ordinance rapidly at short range. However,considering the small size of the round,the weapon is ineffective against all but the lightest of vehicles. As a specialist heavy weapon,it doesn't see much use,but is hailed as one of the best enclosed quarters weapons to ever come from humanity.


Wallet. Carried when off-duty,Dahlia's wallet contains ID,licenses,debit and credit cards,as well as some cash. There's a photo of herself and Oscar contained within,as well.

Civilian Attire. When off the clock,Dahlia wears a suit nearly identical to Oscar's,but instead of a royal purple tie,hers is blood red.


Car Keys. Dahlia owns a pretty average personal vehicle; It has room in the rear for cargo,and passengers. Of the two,she's the driver.


World of Birth: Titan


Omega Gene: Patron. Dahlia's Omega Gene is defensive in nature,and manifests as the projection of shields,either as bubbles centered on her,or large walls attached to her arm,much like a medieval tower shield. She can pick and choose what may pass through the shields,and in which direction. The shields look like a collection of overlapping blue hexagons,glowing blue. They are transparent.


Background: Dahlia Cortes was born and raised on Titan. As far as the fatcats on Terra and Mars were concerned,the people who make their lives possible on the moons were peasants,not worth any attention. As such,life on Titan,and the gas miners orbiting Jupiter,was hell. Accidents and fatalities occurred almost daily.


Dahlia's parents were engineers,tasked with maintaining the habitat's structure. It was their job to keep breaches from happening,and to patch them up when they invariably do. When she turned twelve,Dahlia was assigned to assist in habitat repairs with her parents. During one repair job,the replacement of a cracked viewport,something went wrong. The safety shutter jammed open,just as a piece of debris approached the viewport from outside.


They were ordered to evacuate,but Dahlia knew that it wouldn't be fast enough. When the rock hit and shattered the viewport,however,the repair team was enveloped by a glowing blue bubble,and found themselves breathing as the room was decompressing around them. They left the room and called the exo-team to do the fix,but the damage was done; Dahlia was an Omega. The next week,a frigate arrived,and two soldiers whisked her away without a word to anyone.


The frigate had many other passengers,but the only one of note was a boy her own age,and seemingly interested in the time,considering how many times he tried to peek at one of their captors' watches,receiving only a buttstroke for his trouble. They arrived on a massive ship,and were immediately put through surgeries and training that escaped description; there were no words in any human dialect strong enough to accurately portray the proceedings.


By the end of everything,there were few survivors. They were expendable,it seemed,and this didn't sit well with Dahlia. She was saddled with the boy,Oscar Bates,as her partner after everything was said and done,and was sent to strike directly at the enemies of Earth and protect the interests of humanity. But,Dahlia knew that some humans "worked counter" to humanity's interests,with the aliens. They lived happily. In peace. If they could,why couldn't the rest of humanity? These questions constantly make Dahlia uneasy,but she does her job regardless; she doesn't have an opportunity to get out,after all.

Background:


Zoalex grew up on the Heelox homeworld. Her parents sent her to a private tutor and like most of her race, she became very talented with working with technolgy. She joined the Alliance and was assigned to Kreeva's ship. Whilst serving under her, she lived in fear of the O'sekra and most of the crew refused to speak to her unless they had to. She worked with the latest gadgets and tech. She was also charged with looking after the slaves that were known as "The Collection". She always took good care of them. From cleaning them to ensuring that they ate and checking on their mental health. She ensured that they stayed alive. When the human known as Aeris was captured by Kreeva, she was thrown into the collection.


Zoalex felt very sorry for the human and ended up developing a will to care for her. She started to defy her mistress by not destroying Aeris's only possession. Her black bra and panties. Instead, she made a few modifications to it. She made them more comfortable and showed Aeris around her lab whilst letting her play with the various gadgets. She purchased a tablet for her and kept it hidden from Kreeva.


The pair formed a mother and daughter relationship. Eventually, Zoalex gained the courage to free the human and sabotaged many of the ship's systems. Nothing critical. But stuff that would slow them down. From destroying the engines to uploading viruses to the ship's computer. She made sure that Kreeva would not be able to follow her and Aeris. But she sustained an injury due the proccess thanks to Kreeva. Just as she got into a dropship, the O'sekra shot her through the chest.


Zoalex barely survived it and had set the ship to autopilot using a custom AI. One that was loyal only to her. The ship didn't get shot down due to the Inquistion's ship's weapons being disabled and the tracking systems onboard the drop ship had been destroyed a day before.


Zoalex stuck with Aeris and helped her to settle down on Teeamnon. She was devestated when she heard about the war but did not get involved with it. She got a position on earth 2 as a techinican and lives with her friend, Aeris.

Both of you accepted. Dovah change Earth 2 to Earth 2 (Teeamnon) I'm assuming she calls it Earth 2 because that is what Aeris calls it.

Background: Drafted to the enforcer corps like every Omega positive human, Xander quickly became a favourite among his superiors both for his apparent strong commitment and excellent aptitude for the corps but also his ability seemed to make him an ideal front line soldier.


Though he still looks nearly as youthful as when he became a full ranking enforcer, years of service have taken their toll on him. The trauma of repeatedly surviving injuries that would normally kill an average man and the mental strain of the forced employment of his power have left Xander a broken man that the EFEC seems to want to keep pushing until he goes over the edge. He will often switch between being overly cautious and suicidally aggressive. What was once an outgoing and personable young man is now shy and awkward and at times has been found apparently talking to himself.


The sole survivor of a recent skirmish with the Alliance, Xander is currently imprisoned but seems quite unconcerned with fate.

Personal Items : Nothing of interest since she defected to the Earth Federation.


Omega Gene : Phasing and invisibility but the gene is aberrant and as Kylee has aged it seems that her ability to control her power has decreased to being negligible. She will randomly rotate between being solid/visible, intangible/visible, solid/invisible or intangible/invisible typically not staying in any one state for more than half an hour. While she can induce a change of state or try to remain in her current state, doing so takes an incredible physical toll on her and these days she can rarely do so for more than a few minutes.


Background: Due to her unique ability Kylee was recruited at a young age as an information gatherer for the Inquisition. As she proved her usefulness she rose in the esteem of the Inquisition despite her notable difficultly in fitting in socially. Once she became mature enough to be considered capable of greater responsibilities she was quickly elevated from the role of spy to that of a discreet executioner of those considered a threat to the Alliance.


Time passing Kylee found herself having a harder time reconciling herself with the values of both the Inquisition and the O'Sekra people in general. However, she felt trapped realizing her only apparent options were servitude or being fugitive. The arrival of a race similar to her own with the largest exception of being warm blooded sparked a great interest. As hostility between the two races escalated Kylee finally decided that she was on the wrong side of the battle and escaped the Inquisition to aid the newly discovered humans.

Two hand guns locked in shoulder holsters, and a bolt action sniper rifle.


Background:


When Renshii was taken for the newly found power of the Omega Gene he was assigned with a young man about his age. They were both alone and had become really good friends in the early years. But, as time passed they slowly began to have different ideas on the war, different views. Renshii preferred the Teeamnon over the EFEC. He disagreed and him as well as his partner got into a large fight, he hated the idea and came to realize that if he joined the EFEC humans, they would gain more power, more people. With this idea in mind, Renshii awaited one night until his partner had fallen asleep and attempted an assassination attempt. This attempt ended in an outbreak against the two, shots were fired, cuts were given, etc.. Renshii had came on top now only having a scar left on his right shoulder to remind him of his past and his partner.


A year had passed before Renshii had brought himself together after killing his own partner and he joined the war siding with Teeamnon. He did his best to become one of the best, rose himself up a couple of ranks and began taking on missions as a hitman, he'd go out. Snipe a target then leave like it never happened. Now, he just does anything he's asked to help with or do.

Personality: Dimitri is something of an odd one. Happy, friendly, brave and jovial one minute, the next, harsh, strange, cowardly. To his comrades, he'll treat them like blood-brothers, loyal to the end - right until flight looks it has better odds of success than fight; Dimitri won't think twice about abandoning his fellows if it means ensuring his own survival, or even betraying them if the gain is great enough. He's become something of an expert in covering his own ass because of this. Before anything else, Dimitri is a survivor, whatever else he is comes second to that over-arching role. But of course, even for soldiers, there is more to life than high-danger scenarios. In times of relaxation and idleness, he relishes a chance to conversate. He is no stranger to taboo questions, entirely unafraid to voice any particular thought that crosses his mind. To passersby, he is a loud, rude man with a strange accent. To those with extended contact, the opinion is much the same, though he can grow on someone if enough time passes. To his enemies, he is a spiteful, ignorant and hateful person. But to all three - he is most definitely strange.


It's a mystery if all those he abandoned to death weigh on his consciousness.


Background: Dimitri, among many, was a man raised in war.


An impressionable teenager, he joined the military as soon as he was able to. The xenos needed to be crushed. His fellow human beings were dying, and he had to do his part.


Twenty years later - what was once the misguided ravings of a young soldier, believing naively the propaganda, was now cemented truth. The aliens were degenerate scum, and their nations, their empires needed to be crushed by human boots. His intense hatred is seconded only by his basic need to survive - but one certainly fuels the other. The war, and the subsequent, shaming defeat is all he's ever known. And to the EFEC, this is exactly the kind of soldier they need. He has performed well and survived impossible odds, including scenarios in which the rest of his team was killed (of course, they did not ever know the truth, that he abandoned the fight, or ordered his men ahead to die in glorious battle so he could make his escape). It's quite clear that any reservations about continuing the fight are non-existent.


And what's more - if there was one thing Dimitri could hate more than the aliens that slaughtered so many, it would be the humans of Teeamnon. Ironic, coming from one with so little honor - and yet, there it was. He betrayed and sacrificed to live and fight another day - the humans of Teeamnon betrayed to chase embarrassing fantasies of unity, and to worship and beg for respect at the feet of the xenos.


All of them would be crushed under humanity's boots.


And with any luck - one of those boots would be his.

Other Notes: Dimitri will quite blatantly treat those of the opposite sex markedly better than males. Hardly a successful womanizer, he still can't help but appreciate feminine company - unless of course, they need to die so he can continue to live.


While despising xenos intensely, Dimitri is also aware of the value of patience and subterfuge, and can exercise restraint when dealing with them in situations that are not immediately hostile.

Earth, the jewel of the universe, the home of the mighty human race, at least that's what David was led to believe as he grew up on some backwater city on his race's home planet. His family was staunchly conservative, believing that whatever the Earth Federation did was for the betterment of mankind and to even dare question the government's authority was grounds for disownment from his family. He attended every parade held to honor the brave soldiers of the EFEC, his family was at every government benefit, and despite not having much to give, they gave all they could without starving themselves. "It's all for the sake of humanity." David's father would say at every event. "We ensure that our future is secured." David would take these words to heart, and always held the leaders of humanity in the highest esteem. As he grew, so did his desire to become someone great, someone that children could look up to as he did to others, a true champion of humanity and the EF. And the second he was eligible, he enlisted in the EFEC.


The initial training was nothing short of brutal. He and his newly enlited comrades were pushed to their limit, running for miles on end, for days on end if the instructors were feeling particularly sadistic. There were several initiates who collapsed during their training and were hauled off, never to be seen again. Only once did David dare ask where these people were being taken, "Treatment." is what the instructor said. David didn't push the subject any further, granted it was a popular subject amongst the recruits. At this time David found himself to be very an extremely good shot, he was recruited into the sniper corps. Here he honed his skills and his craft until he was unimaginably efficient. This training continued on for 2 years, becoming more and more easier as time went on. Maybe his body finally became accustomed to the rigorous training, or maybe he just learned to ignore the pain, but eventually it all came to an end.


To this day, David's graduation ceremony is one of the best days of his life. His entire family was in attendance, watching the young boy they raised finally become a man, a man of the EFEC. "You are the best humanity has to offer," the brigadeer general said during his speech "You are now the first and last line of defense between the people of Earth and her interests....and those who wish to see humanity collapse and devolve into the anarchic society that destroyed so many lives in days past." David believed every word of that speech, and he firmly believed that he was one step closer to becoming the hero that he dreamed of being.


However, after he was deployed he found himself completely disillusioned with the concept of heroism. His first few engagements were small insurecctions here and there that were put down with no real incident. Little by little, David started losing face in the EF and much more in the EFEC as he started to see the brutality in which they treated their enemy. It was little less than accepted fact that prisoners were tortured simply for the sake of it. He tried to rationalize it in every way he could, but David just wanted to finish his tour and go home. But then.....Europa happened.


It was one of the largest insurrections his battalion ever faced. "Don't worry kid, Mars was worse." many of the veterans said before they were dropped. It didn't ease his tensions when he finally stepped off the transport. The EFEC came down like a hammer on the moon's inhabitants. David himself racked up many kills with his rifle. Little by litle, the battle began to wear david down, both physically and spiritually. His time in Europa showed him the true face of the Federation. Death, rape, torture whether they be militant or civilian, the soldiers of the EFEC showed no remorse for their actions. David spent the remaining days of the battle sitting back, aiming down his rifle and simply stating that he never had a shot. He had no dreams anymore, he just wanted to be done with it all, just to go back to Earth and live the rest of his life.


Unfortunately, that day wasn't going to come anytime soon. He was one of the "lucky few" who was recruited to fly on teh EFV Pionee. Their main mission was to expand humanity's influence across the cosmos. This mission was actually appealing to David, who was done with the violence of war and was ready to relax as he sailed the stars looking for new planets for his people to colonize. Unfortunately, David's luck followed him on this voyage. 2190 Was quite the year for the crew of the Pioneer. David knew battle but he had never experienced war on this scale. But at the end, he still remembers looking at the god. At this moment he knew that he couldn't be held back by the Federation anymore. He joined his fellow deserters and ultimately settled on Teamnon, or Earth 2 as many have grown to call it.


He now lives as an inter-human security officer. Basically a cop, but also a political tool since humans are quicker to trust their own kind rather than one of the others. Life is peaceful and good to David now, but he knows what looms on the horizon. If the Federation ever returns, he knows that he may have to pick up a rifle again and defend what he now calls his home.

Goddard, Omega Gene would have a partner and not part of the general army; essentially your description isn't working. Also note that in the rules there is a chance I will kill off characters. If your character is going to go off on their own and sacrifice the lives of others to save himself, there is a chance your character will die.
 
Ah, didn't see that bit about the Omega gene. I'd rather simply remove the gene part than submit another character to pair him with - unless another player wanted to put their character with him, that might be fun.


And I'm well aware the likelihood of death.
 
Two dragons just attacked and decimated most of EFEC's fleet particuarly small and medium ships with significant damage to larger vessels.

"There is a saying amongst several mercenaries and Enforcers. Stare into the darkness of the abyss, and the abyss will soon stare back at you. And when it does so with those icy-blue eyes, it is a herald of death to come."


"Ain't that a load of poppycock, old man. What's all this trash about blue eyes?"


"Oh, you're not believing in the existence of Death, are you? He comes in many forms, and in this space, he stalks the void in the form of a dark-clad assassin by the name of Durga, his mask lit up only by those blue holes that are his eyes. And when you see him, it is time you started picking a god and pray. If you are indeed a good man, he might just leave you be. Have you sinned before, his blade finds its home in your neck, and your very own life sustains him."


Laughter echoes around the room as the old man, whose hand shakes as he raises his own mug to drink, finishes his tale. The mercenary leaned on the table, resting his chin on his hand. "So you must know this Durga person, hey? Seeing as you're so close to dyin' anyway?" The old man didnt answer, instead choosing to mutter something into his drink. It was obvious by his shivering hands that Parkinsons had gotten a hold upon him. He was barely holding it together. The young mercenary sniffed disdainfully. "Tell me, old man, where did this "Death" come from?"


"Oh, looking forward to your meeting with him, lad? Some say he hails from Earth, and was one of the Enforcers, an especially gifted one with his knife. One day, he simply vanished, taking all his equipment with him and disappeared into the darkness that he now resides in. Some others speak of him as if he were a Zandri who betrayed his own kind and picked up human weaponry to add to his already deadly skills with the blade. More say that he is a she and was an O'Sekra. Whichever story it is, he comes in the shadows, as one with the darkness, and only those blue lights tell of his presence. Fear the will-o-wisps that whisper his name in the dark--"


"Alright, alright, you old fart, stop your raving. I've had enough of your stupid talk." The mercenary turned to leave, then paused. He spun around and kicked the chair from under the old man, sending him crumpling onto the ground. The old man didn't make a sound as he fell, and just remained on the ground. The whole room fell quiet, the other occupants of the bar suddenly went silent, and the music stopped as if a grave sin had just been committed in their presence.


Slowly, the old man got to his feet shakily. He reached into his tattered coat, and pulled out what seemed to be a gas mask and slowly slipped it over his face as everyone watched. With this action, he straightened himself straight up, now standing as tall as the mercenary, about 6 feet 5.


"So, you're not believing in the existence of Death, are you?" The old man spoke, but his tone...it had morphed into one of soft, muffled ones. One that meant imminent danger, that meant certain death. The lights of the bar shut down, plunging the place into darkness. At first the mercenary was blind, unable to see anything. All he heard was the harsh breathing behind the gas mask. Then he saw it. The will-o-the-wisps. The blue orbs that hung in front of him. And in this light, a knife flashed.


"Time to start believing in fairy tales."


The lights came back on, and the mercenary lay on the floor, choking as a gaping hole that was torn across his throat bled him dry. He convulsed, legs kicking out at the air, sending his own blood everywhere, and in his final throes, his eyes bore something akin to horror. The old man, if he was even one in the first place, had vanished, the door to the bar clicking shut at the far back, unheard by anyone as the place broke into major panic.


He cast off the grey coat, revealing the black suit underneath, and removed the gas mask. Throwing the hood back, he pulled off the beard and smoothed back his silky black hair. He cast another look at the bar, and tucked his hands into his pockets, and strode down the street, head poised towards the ground.

Background: Born as a middle child, to an O'Shem. The Eldest sibling and mother died early on in his life (3-4 yr) due to malfunction in their AES suits' life support systems caused by an electromagnetic wave from a solar flare, while on the planet, Lemox (This malfunction has since then been fixed). The mother leaving at such a young age, left a bad impression of women on him, and it has not changed since, because of the lack of females in his life especially with the mainly segregated training.


His father, however, remained a strong force in his life. The hunter teams his father lead at work, came home with him on the form of Teekur. He was rewarded as one, and punished as one. His chores were as missions and his father expected perfection. Everything he did had an After-Action-Report from his father. His life became a cycle to make his father proud, and survive the rage fueled beatings.


He eagerly accepted the invitation into OCS, and was one of the top prospects. He quickly separated himself physically from the rest of the group. Everything they put in front of him he did quickly, without question, and damn near perfectly. If he ever did anything wrong he would do the punishment the Instructors would assign and then more as his personal punishment. Even academically he succeeded, however he had a hair trigger anger, which could go off when some one said anything about him. In combative training, his tendency to brute strength was beaten out of him by the instructors and was replaced with precisely placed excerpts of power. His instructors said, "The only way he could be better was if he was an omega." He never forgot that and tended to be hostile towards omegas, and was rather careless, under estimating their powers. He carries a chip on his shoulder, due to this.
