Fair point. Though when Mami did it the bat's appearance changed, Homura's stuff looks like just regular weapons.

I've just never seen any sign that Homura enchanted her guns, is all. I guess the whole thing was never explained in the anime, so I just assumed all weapons could hurt them. Probably why Sting's explanation makes more sense to me.
