Constantine's demon was knocked to the ground and struggled to it's feet from the blow. It ran towards Sauron, screeching in both anger and from pain as Constantine continued to run. Upon seeing their leader in battle, a large number of Orcs charged towards the demon whilst yelling angrily. As it ran at Sauron it was hit from behind and stumbled forwards but continued to run.


Akane sighed in response to Yami's words "Very well, I understand." She nodded in response "What do you want from me?" She asked

Growing tired of the nuisance, Sauron forms another fireball and hurls it at the demon." Bow before me demon or I will destroy you!"

"Oh, I only ask my usual rate. In exchange for my power, I want half of your soul. That's the arrangement Gregory and I had."

Lea stood up and dusted himself off after that experience, not one he wanted to repeat. He looked over to the scene that was going on and just seemed unfazed. It wasn't his problem so why should he care?


Danny continued to attack the orcs with his ecto blasts, aiming to take out any he could.

The demon was hit by the fireball and began to burn on the spot, screaming in agony. In it's final move it made one desperate move at Sauron, aiming for his head with it's claws.


"Bollocks to that idea." Constantine muttered


"Half?" Akane snapped "How will that affect me?" She turned to the approaching Orcs and began to step back, swinging the spear and decapitating an Orc. An Uruk Hai swung for Akane only for his blade to clash with the spear "Half a soul is better than no soul at all, right?" She asked "I just need to know how that will affect me? I do not intend to become a husk, demon."

Yami floated a few feet above the fighting, watching Akane.


"Oh, nothing major. You'll be a bit emotionally stunted for a while. Less empathetic, a bit more aggressive. Alright, at half your soul you'll probably be a lot more aggressive. Generally speaking, you're going to just generally be unpleasant to be around for a few days. But it's nothing that won't get better within a few days, a week at most."

Generally speaking, you're going to just generally be unpleasant to be around for a fewY days. But it's nothing that won't get better within a few days, a week at most."

"I'm already a monster." She spoke in a bitter tone "I...I don't want to become something worse than I already am, demon." As Akane sighed an Uruk Hai struck her from behind with his sword, causing her to fall forwards and shout in pain. She impaled him with the spear as she stood up but found herself quickly surrounded by even more Orcs and Uruk Hai. A thought occurred to Akane. If it was true that Gladius could fix her, they could end her aggression and possibly even restore her soul "You possessed Gregory at once stage. Give me your word that the same will not happen to me and we have a deal." She sighed.

Moving aside before the demon could strike him, Sauron raises his mace and precedes to slam it on the demon's head.

"Oh, you don't need to worry about that. Gregory gave me permission to do that. There is nothing I can do without your permission. And if you'll remember, after the fight I gave his body right back to him completely unharmed."

The demon was struck on the head by Sauron's attack and fell to it's knees, blood spewing from a wound left in it's head. It reached out, attempting to hit Sauron with another attack only for an Uruk hai to shoot it from behind with an arrow. Seeing his chance, Constantine continued to run, trying to find another way out of Mordor.

The demon was telling the truth, while Akane didn't trust Yami she found that she didn't have much of a choice. Lose half of her soul or die at the hand of Sauron's forces "I'll take that as your word then." She sighed "You can have half of my soul, but no more." She reassured herself on what she had heard about Gladius again. As an Uruk hai fired an arrow at her, she raised her left arm to defend her face. She grunted in pain as the arrow pierced her arm.

Yami chuckled.

A wave of black fire rushed towards the Orcs, leaving many of them flailing and screaming on the ground. Akane felt a sort of power fill her, lifting the pain of her injuries and giving her new strength.

Akane's grip on the spear tightened, however her general appearance did not change unlike Harley or Jeff Jarrett. Instead she concentrated black fire around herself in some kind of protective aura. She let out a light chuckle and examined the weapon before looking up at several oncoming Orcs.


"Let's see if this was worth half of my soul, eh?" She asked with a grin before lunging forward. With one swing she sliced four orcs in half from the waist.


Constantine summoned another demon at his feet to distract the Warg riders. This demon was very similar to the last only it's head was that of a decaying dog. He whistled as Cobra Commander's android's continued their attack outside the gates. This caught the attention of Akane was was able to hear Constantine's whistle with her heightened senses.


"Bleedin' idiots." Constantine complained "Can't even follow a plan."


"Any idea who that is Yami?" Akane asked the demon

Yami appeared beside Akane. As she killed orcs, eyes began to appear on his body, blinking at their surroundings in what appeared to be terror before fading into Yami's skin. He did nothing to acknowledge this occurrence, although his usual smug grin seemed to become even smugger, if that was possible.


"I apologize for leaving you to do the fighting. I will require a bit of time to adjust to the resonance of your soul. As for the warlock, I have seen him before, but do not know him. However, he appears to hold no goodwill towards these swine. In this case I suppose that the enemy of mine enemy is mine friend. However, I'd advise you to be wary. He may mistake our little bargain for possession, and attempt to kill you."

"It would be nice if we weren't fighting an entire army by ourselves." Akane replied, decapitating another orc. Six Uruk Hai charged at her only for Akane to slice to all in half with two swings of the spear. She didn't feel the hunger, in fact she could hardly feel anything at all apart from a desire to slice the forces of Sauron. She sighed in relief. The hunger was gone and to her it felt as if a massive burden was lifted from her shoulders. To her, the desire to kill Orcs and Uruk Hai was a better feeling.


Constantine summoned another demon, a goat like creature with large bat wings and it lifted him up, trying to carry Constantine above the walls of Mordor.

Noticing the commotion between Constantine and Akane, The Librarian snapped his fingers and appeared before them. As more Orcs continued to charge at the two, The Librarian snapped his fingers again and vaporized the Orcs in the process with a roll of his eyes.


"Who are you supposed to be? Another pretentious wanker out to rule or destroy the Universe?" Constantine asked angrily


"He's dangerous." Akane stated


"Of course he's bloody dangerous!" Constantine snapped


"John Constantine."


"Yep. No one in the Multiverse has a face as daft and as miserable as this." Constantine replied


"I would require a man of your talents. I already know about your plan with Sauron so how's this. I give you a hand with this Dark Lord and in return you do..."


"No." Constantine snapped, getting an upraised eyebrow from the Librarian in response


"I could literally finish him off with a snap of my fingers."


"My answer is no. The thing you'll want me to do in return is going to be bloody awful." Constantine muttered


"No. Constantine. There are wars coming."


"There's always a war coming." Constantine shrugged "Always some demon or so-called Dark Lord on the horizon who wants to rule or destroy reality."

"I'll just follow you." The Librarian shrugged "Flee through any tear and with a snap of my fingers I'll appear behind you. You can't hide." He grinned "That goes for both of you."


"Both?" Constantine asked before turning and examining the spear. It was the exact same spear he had seen in Colombia, the flying city. He'd gotten distracted by the invasion and by the wanker who killed the demon he summoned for no reason. "Where the 'ell did you get that?" He asked Akane in an angry tone


"Well first it belonged to Jeff Jarrett, it turned him into a giant then to Harley Quinn, then to a guy called Gregory Nelson. All of them are dead now." The Librarian explained before clearing his throat "Of course, I am more important."


"Yami didn't kill those people." Akane protested


"Bollocks." Constantine snapped "That spear is dangerous, hand it over."


"No. I need it." Akane snapped "I need it to get to Gladius!"


"What the fuck's a Gladius?" Constantine asked


"An advanced civilization built in a universe surrounded by demons. Protected behind walls that have never been breached. Nice place. Been there a few times."


"They can fix me." Akane continued to plead "Make me human again."


"One of the most advanced civilizations in the entire Multiverse." The Librarian continued "Now. How's this for a deal. You do as I say, Akane or you will never get to Gladius alive."


Constantine stood in the way of Akane and The Librarian "How about you take that spear and shove it up your arse." He muttered bitterly


"I need Sauron alive so I'm going to make a deal with him. You on the other hand, Constantine...Hmm." He paused for several moments "I will bring back Emma."


"Emma went to Heaven. Why'd I want her walking about being miserable?" Constantine shrugged


"Astra." The Librarian stated


"Same case there."


"How's this for a deal then, Newcastle." The Librarian grinned "Help me in these wars or I'll toss both of them into Hell. All those other kids too. Give me a minute I'll bring back Nergal and let him have his fun."


Constantine stepped back from the Librarian and lit himself a cigarette. He summoned a demon before the Librarian, a large leathery figure with bat wings, sharp claws and the head of a goat. It snarled at the Librarian before lunging at him.

"I suppose this is your choice to make. Personally, I am in favor of setting his soul ablaze with black fire. Anything with that kind of power would burn quite nicely. But of course it would be risky. Nevertheless, I am a servant and nothing more. I can offer nothing but my power, and my council."

The Librarian scoffed at Yami's words "Remember what happened last time you tried to get rid of me? Why not just do the easy thing and work for me?" He then turned his attention to Constantine's demon and with a wave of his hand turned it to dust. He shrugged at Constantine "So what'll it be?" He asked "Painful death with Astra and Emma tortured or actually hear me out?"


"Fine." Constantine muttered bitterly


"One moment." The Librarian grinned before snapping his fingers again and appearing in front of Sauron himself.
