Taboo

Emily actually glares coldly at Sastu, before trying to shove the girl aside and head inside. She didn’t know what happened between her walk outside and coming back. That didn’t matter. If no one stopped her she would head right up to face Anya, pull an arm back and aim to give the ***** the biggest shiner she could muster. “The world is harsh *****.” She would say either way. “Get used to it . . . if this is tough love, then you need to ******* expect to get the crap beat out of you if you keep up the way you do.”

Sure she noticed the other leave that was good for the other, sure she didn’t seem to be glancing at anyone else, sure she knew she was probably going to be kicked out of the group. But hell if she managed to pull off that punch, a punch that probably held years of mocking and resentment towards her from her past . . . if she could pull that off even a night or two in a cell would be worth it. “Watch who and how you talk about people. You won’t always be protected.” She warned her if the hit landed or not.

Anya turned her face towards Evan as he spoke up in agreement with her, reaching to slide her hand slowly up and down his arm in a caress that almost dug in fingernails just enough to be uncomfortable as she spoke to him, her voice low, deliberately throaty. "Evan here gets the picture...even her, whatever planet she is again, knows what this group is. I'm telling you all the truth. That's what this group is. Truth. Ugly or not, harsh or not, it's what it is and you might as well hear it here where everyone else is as much a freak as you are. You don't like it, you're gonna have a hell of a time in the so-called real world. 'Cause this is the one place where your freakiness is just one in the crowd."

As Emily storms back into the room, Anya turns her head, starting to smile; she can see from the girl's posture and expression how furious she still is. "Hey, Gwen-cest, welcome back! Forget your contraceptives?" she started to say lightly, but when the girl kept coming straight at her, she tensed involuntarily. The girl was broadcasting her intent to hit her, and Anya was not entirely sure whether or not she'd literally carry it through.

If she moved, she would look like she was afraid of being hurt by her. If she sat there and took the punch, she'd look like Emily was tougher. There was no real winning for this situation, so in the end Anya merely turned her head fast so that the blow glanced off her upper cheekbone instead of hitting her eye as intended. Still, it stung badly and she knew it would swell and bruise. The fact that Emily would dare to hit her, dare to threaten her, to physically mark her, and in front of others too, no less, caused a sudden and intense rage to rise in Anya, enough that she could barely keep herself from simply leaping up and beginning to physically fight the girl with everything she had.

As it was, she did not touch her cheek and made extreme effort to show no sigh of pain at all. She smiled at Emily, but her eyes were narrowed, cold, even as her voice remained casual.

"Hm, you sure you're not something of a sadist yourself, M&M? Such brutality with such little provocation. Sorta makes you wonder if I hit a nerve..."

She paused, then said very deliberately, even as the wheels of her mind began to turn, forming a genuine plan, "Maybe some people ought to watch out for the people they say mean so much to them. If they care about them so much, maybe they should make sure they keep their eyes on them, if they don't want to lose them some day."

She knows very well that Emily will likely interpret that as a physical threat against Ryyan. This is actually not her intention, at least not in that moment....no, it's rather different plans now beginning to work themselves out in her thoughts.

Outside the building, Keegan has begun to cross the parking lot before she sees her foster mother emerging from her parked car, smiling at her pleasantly even as she heads her off, with no intention of letting her escape. Keegan tries to dodge, but Mara is firm, and grabbing her by the arm, begins to tote her back to the doorway with a protesting and resistant Keegan finally pulling away and slinking back inside herself, her cheeks hot with anger. Why did she even CARE if she went to this stupid place?

Satsu brushed off the child bumping into her. It was a child throwing a hissy. The child obviously had attention issues and Satsu wasn't about to be the one to give that girl what she actually wanted. So she ignored the shove and went to step inside herself, only to have the one she had actually tried to help shove past her. The ****? It pissed her off some after letting the kid go but to show that would be of no benefit, hell reacting in any way to such a childish act would do nothing for her, so on edge as she may be for a few moments until she got over it enough and on to other things, Satsu would let it go, knowing full well she intended to play a game with this one from the beginning. Besides games were always more fun with the unwilling or unsuspecting.

She made her way back to her couch and took a seat, scanning the room with her eyes as she entered, eyes seemed to be on Anya, what had she missed? Still more attention grabbing than this was Emily and her murderous intent as she approached the other, was she so easily pushed into doing things? A smile cracked her lips even knowing that her could be friend was about to get hit. Majority the damage was avoided but still Emily took the swing and Satsu could only imagine the thoughts racing through Anya's head as she tried to calculate and not react. Both had biting retorts to attack with yet neither went to attack the other physically again. As the girls parted Satsu knew that show was over for now and she turned her attention to James. James was always offbeat with his approach, but he still had to keep the room in check, otherwise he wouldn't be able to run taboo. The councilor only smiled and held his concoction up as if he were about to cheer, in some sort of appraisal. “If you two want to get to mud wrestling let me know so we can get the equipment, otherwise keep your hands off each other on ALS Anon grounds. What you do in your spare time I can say nothing about” he seemed so laid back about it all, yet his words, how they were spoken said otherwise. The girls had gotten a warning, and they would be wise to listen to it.

Satsu reached into her pocket and pulled out a piece of gum and began to chew silently. She would go back to her observing some only to notice the child being escorted once more back into the building. Hell whoever brought her here obviously gave a damn about her, perhaps she had a chance of redemption unlike her peers. Not like Satsu wanted to be 'fixed' but having a choice of how you turned out instead of life and others shaping the person you became... it sounded somewhat nice.

Keegan practically threw herself back into her old seat, slouching down so much with her arms crossed that her face could barely be seen, half covered by her hair. What was visible displayed a fierce glower and reddened cheeks. She didn't intend to say another word, no matter what, and she definitely wasn't going to leave herself open to any more teasing or insults.

Despite these intentions, however, she found herself sliding her eyes over to James often, gauging his reaction to her reappearance, and then one hand creeps out of its cross to run through her hair.

In response to James's comment, Anya turned her head towards him, giving a mock salute as she settled back into her seat. "Aye aye, mate. If anyone wants to get down and dirty, and I'm betting about 99% of you do, we'll keep it on the downlow, yeah?"

She is looking at Emily again as she continues, "Though I'm not promising anything for extracurricular activities." She hopes Emily will read into this as a threat against her rather than as it is actually intended.

Turning back to face front, her eyes shift to meet Satsu's, and she holds them briefly, a beat too long to be without meaning, before she looks away again, watching to see what will happen next.

Hendric sat there silently as the insults and slandering continued, it seeming to be the main part of the reason to come here in the first place. Anya was obviously the main one to ‘toughen’ up the people that show up, it seeming to be the reasoning behind her teasing and pestering. The act of getting rid of those that do not want either help or whatever would be made easier by the simply introduction of an annoying individual. Earlier Hendric wondered with Iness if someone would actually hit Anya, which was answered when one group member clocked her with a punch. Anya hiding the fact that the hit hurt but he figured that it hurt nonetheless, getting hit in the face will hurt no matter how much you protest against the pain.

Iness tapped Hendric on his shoulder whispering a sensual joke in his ear, it being a bit descriptive and all. He shook his head and chuckled lightly saying aloud in response to Iness, “Who knows.” The individuals who had left found their way back to the room in due course, for a range of reasons it seemed. The room had once again gone silent after the ‘excitement’ died down, which was eventually going to happen any way.

It was obvious that Emily made an enemy of Anya, or at least she had put a target on her forehead in Anya’s mind. Such things in Hendric’s mind would seem to make your life more ‘exciting,’ having an enemy would at least shake up the monotony of your day to day affairs. He thrummed his fingers on the arm of the sofa he was sitting in, wondering who would be the next person to speak. Most of them had already spoken about themselves and what had brought them to this place, himself included.

After a few moments of silence Hendric figured on speaking at the request of Iness, her prodding him until he gave in. He looked over at Anya and asked with a raised brow, “So you find enjoyment in pain of others? Is it a sensual delight or is it more in the realm of a conquest in your mind?” There was no provocation in his words or threatening underlay that would hint at an attack yet to come, he was simply continuing the conversation. It did lack the rudeness that had previously been used to start conversations but he figured he’d go a different way.

Henrich's question is actually a decent one, lacking the disgust or fear that most show, and also is one that Anya hasn't thought about very much on her own. She turns her head towards him, actually taking him seriously as she considers what he is asking her, trying to decide it for herself.

"Hm, no one ever asked me that before," she voiced aloud, and she meets Satsu's eyes again briefly, as though seeking her own opinion before she continues. "Probably kind of both. Not going to deny it's a mental charge, figuring out everyone's weakness and what way to hurt them most or make a situation where they're going to, knowing I've got the power over them they don't want me to have. Reading people like a billboard...definitely the head part is a turn on. But the sensual, the sexual, yeah, that's there too."

She smiled slowly, and let her words come out almost like a caress then. She seemed to be enjoying describing as much as anything.

"When I watch people hurting, physical or mental, and see the pain in their eyes...when I hear them crying or see them squirm, hear them gasp in shock or pain or fear, see them shaking and stricken and wishing to die...it turns me on more than any sexual act ever could. I get a shiver down my spine and I feel it all the way down to my toes....I don't feel much, so that? It's the best feeling I've ever had."

She lets her eyes rest briefly on each in turn, and she is still smiling, as though imagining every one of them exactly as she has described.

“Hm,” he simply uttered and then added as he stretched in the chair, “Intriguing to say the least, I find that most things resolve around sensual desire or the acts to achieve such a thing as a connection with someone. Whether it be for a life time or for a few minuets, your case seems to be the latter.” He smiled lightly and looked back at Iness and then back toward the bulk of the group, “Some are attracted to the dead,” he said looking over at the girl h was describing, “simply because the thought of dealing with those that live, those that can lie, those that can hurt you causes unneeded stress…which is something I can understand.” He chuckled lightly and scratched his nose, “People are either bland or a pain.”

“Regardless,” he said with a light shrug as he looked over at Anya, “Enjoying pain isn’t as odd as some think.” He smirked and opened his eyes wide as he stated, “After all a nip at one’s ear or neck is always a welcome addition, turnabout is fair play after all.” In truth he thought that a bit of fun was essential in one’s life, with out ‘fun’ life would be rather tasteless and dreary after all. Anya seemed to get the whole ‘live life and to hell with the rest,’ which was something that Iness and Hendric took wholeheartedly.

He didn’t say anything else, him merely waiting to see if anyone would have a retort or something to add to the conversation. Most of the people in the room were observing and not participation in the least, which was not such an oddity. They were most likely checking the depth of the waters yet again, seeing if the pool had been drained and if the animosity recedes. He was interested in hearing what Anya would say to that, but only mildly. As he waited he played a tune in his head and drifted in-between different internal radio stations.

Evan whimpered when Anya carassed his arm. She was teasing him and he was enjoying it. But a part of him wished she would do more. That she would do much more to him. He listened to her explain why she liked dealing pain and something in his warmed at her words. he was happy to have found something like her. No not happy. His desire for pain had little to do with happiness. He did diverve pleasure from the act, but he was never happy when it happened.

Evan licked his lips and sat back in his chair. He looked across the room at Hendric. It seemed that not all the people here were either whinning wimps or bitchy assholes, although he didn't mind all too much. It was sort of fun to watch the chaos as well. And Evan had never hated anyone who insulted him either. He knew that he deserved such treatment. He glanced at Anya and then looked at Satsu. He gave her a slow smile before looking away.

Jupiter was drawn back into the conversation when Anya mentioned something about getting down and dirty. He smiled a little. "Are you talking about sex?" She then blushed and looked at the floor.

"Don't get too excited Jup."

"He-hey. I did say I was a nympho. What did you expect?"

Evan laughed and winked at her which made her face get hotter.

"Connection?" Anya raised an eyebrow, laughing lightly as she again turned to face Hendric's direction. "The only people who need that kind of connection with people are those who are too weak to stand on their own. Connections," she almost drawled, and she allowed her hand to again drift over Evan's thigh, stroking lightly, then squeezing, slowly adding pressure, "are selfish...connections are for self-pleasure and need alone...so what makes any of you, with all your desperate seeking for connections, any different than me, really? Maybe I'm just more honest."

Keegan had continued to sit in her slumped, sullen state, appearing to be working hard to be blocking them all out, but when sex was mentioned she sat up, then cut her eyes to James, before she spoke aloud, her tone still guarded, but curious too. "So...you have sex with dead people...you have sex with like everyone...you three have sex with like knives and beating people or something...you have sex with your BROTHER....you have sex with other guys...and I'm supposed to be the crazy one 'cause I have sex with guys who are a few years older and that's ALL? This is so STUPID."

"Got news, Lolita," Anya smirked, shaking her head. "A difference in like forty years? That's not classifiable as "few," that pretty much means "three times your lifetime."
