Would anyone from the other group in particular like to notice and act on Turin's absence? I'd like to reunite the two somewhat soon, but I posted with Dylan not too long ago.
Not entirely sure. Eve's just rushing to get everything over with not having a clear plan of what to do. She just wants to move forward and I think Turin's disappearance would be really easy to miss for her.

Will reply when I get home. Is Turin visible to our group or just to Damon? I'm having a derp moment.

Visible, I'd say. Or at least audible.

Oh shit... I thought I pressed submit when I wrote a post. I didn't. Dx

I JUST realized that. ;;A;;

Hey everyone,

so, to get straight to the point, I feel as if the interest in this roleplay has been declining for a good while now, and it's come to the point where I feel as if the sole reason for participation is politeness. There's a feeling of apathy with how things have been going. Whenever I try and ask people what to do and what to change and what they'd like to see, there is no concrete response, but it's pretty clear that enthusiasm is almost entirely absent from this roleplay. It has began to kill my own energy lately. All around, I am unhappy with the development.

So, essentially, I'd like to just ask who actually (like, really) wants to participate in this any further. There are constantly gaps of two weeks between posts and so on, and I don't think this is enjoyable to anyone. At least I don't want to continue this way. If you leave, that's fine. I'd just rather play with people who actually wanna involve themselves than trot along.

Thanks

I really do wanna participate further. I'm really sorry you feel that way. Heck, you know how much I like this RP (even if recently I might have failed to show you that and I apologize) But nonetheless, I'm staying.

I'm still interested, but I definitely know what you mean about slow pace killing vibes. I don't blame you. I feel bad that my own participation is spotty (I honestly think if there was more chatting or something my attention would pull back here, because I tend to goldfish memory). I apologize and I would like to participate further.

Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about when you say that lack of player enthusiasm can kill motivation. I've experienced it myself lately and frankly, it's discouraging :/

I am still interested in participating, especially since I feel that this concept has a lot of potential. I mean, we haven't even met god yet, let alone try to kill him, and I want to be a part of that. To be honest, I feel like the lack of enthusiasm is due to an unfortunate set of uncontrollable factors. The characters, being thrown in a situation of which they have no knowledge or control of, can't exactly go off to do their own thing, so it feels like we have no choice but to be led along. Or at least, that's my assessment of the situation and my own personal feelings about it. This role-play has a mystery element to it, which can drag it down at times -- though I'm only speaking from personal experience. It comes with the genre. My prediction is that once the characters have a better grasp of the situation and more choices available to them, interest will pick up again.

Another thing that I've noted is the somewhat unfriendly atmosphere in the OOC chat. I know Critical and Aldur are active in the OOC, but the other players seem a bit distant. I know that some people prefer to keep the OOC roleplay-related though, so maybe this is more of a preference. I'm guilty of this myself, but I'm just pointing this out as a possible cause for the weak response. Sorry if it seemed like I was calling anyone out. I'd like to speak with you guys more in the future; meeting new people is alway good and I could definitely learn a lot more about role-playing and GMing from all of you.

Sorry for rambling on. Some of things I said might have come off as presumptuous, though it wasn't my intention. My own participation record has hardly been reflective of the interest that I'm claiming to possess, but I hope that I can continue to take part in this.

So, I suppose when I started this roleplay, I knew I was not very strong in sci-fi but I had never gotten the impression that the story would be primarily character led. For the most part, I find myself hesitant to post because I'm confused on what to do, or not confident enough to have my character move somewhere without really being guided by the GM to do so. In the way, I understand the weakness is my own.

I suppose what I'm trying to say here is that I am not convinced I have the confidence to continue. Even with being told to take Turin out of the scene, I still feel like I messed it up and that other players haven't been reading my posts.

Truthfully, as a roleplayer, I don't see myself having a role here.

After how busy this summer has turned out to be, no. I'm afraid that I don't have the energy or time to really contribute in anyway that would be beneficial.

@Aldur

That's good to hear. :) Thanks!

@CRiTiCAL ERR0R @BlueInPassing

I understand what you mean. In all honesty, there are days where I just feel like I wanna avoid RPN, and then it's hard for me to chat in the OOC, even though there's no pressure. Pleasepleaseplease never think I'm distant or don't like anyone in here. I can 100% say that everyone who's in this RP, I like. A lot even. And feel free to chat, too. I'll try and be more communicative as well. I'm glad you bring this up, because that's one of the issues I had - Whenever I asked about what people need/want, I felt as if nobody gave me stuff to work with. But sure, let's make the OOC more lively. :)

@Mordecai

It's not character driven per se, but of course, especially at the start, we gotta mold the group and sort of establish us, if that makes sense. I'm really sad to hear that, because I asked many times or suggested things. I always tried to emphasize that, if something's not clear or you (or anyone, really) doesn't know what to do, that I'd be happy to help, but there's never been any sort of direct expression of that. I can't help when the problem isn't said. If you feel that way, I respect that, but it's sad because it was so avoidable. But seeing how you removed Thalassa from your list, I'm guessing it's done with anyhow. Thank you for playing so far though.

@Poe

Okay. Sad to see you go, but I understand that. Thank you for signing up, I personally really enjoyed Kaye.

Looking back at our Discord history, I did reach out to you quite often. That said, I'm sure your responses were more than adequate for someone more confident in roleplaying sci-fi, but I've felt as though I've been struggling quite some time-- questions or not. That said, I really enjoyed creating Turin and wanted to thank you for all the hard work you've put in, even if it wasn't a good fit for me, personally. I can see all the time and energy you put in here. (: Thank you!

Please feel free to handle Turin any way you see fit, if you need to kill him or just let him wander off.

I hope you haven't interpreted my inactivity as a lack of interest in Thalassa. I've been extremely busy in real life ( which is sort of ironic, considering it is summer break ), and even when I get the opportunity to post I have an awful tendency to procrastinate. It's my fault, not the plots.

I think the one thing I would be unsatisfied with is my ability to interact with other people in Thalassa, both in the OOC and IC threads. IC wise, most of the fault is with me, as I made the choice to create a belligerent, cranky old man who thus far has no redeeming qualities. Not really easy to get along with. It's far too late to try to whip up another character, so I find myself trapped and trying to think of ways to salvage Brian, and I can't drastically change his attitude that quickly. In terms of OOC, I'm all for it, but again, my fault as I have never tried to initiate any conversations. Hopefully these things will change in the future, as I'd still like to participate.

Actually, I quite like Brian. I think if the character sticks around, he may have development where he'll end up having some sort of redeeming qualities. It's a bit difficult when characters are thrown into situations and have to feel around in the dark in order to move along with the plot. It's also hard when current freeroaming is kind of at a minimum. I feel like if you grind through all the tough parts with him, you may be rewarded with things that'll round him out a bit more.

Eve and I liked Brian from the start <3

To everyone who's still in:

I've had a pretty bad down phase lately. I think I'm coming out of it, I just wanted to let you know I'm not just dropping everything, I just struggled with working on stuff. I'll reorganize some things so the RP can live on, I hope it's acceptable if some things take a bit. I'll also reopen the roleplay for future participants, so we get some fresh enthusiasm. :)

Take as much time as you need. Take care of you first though. I don't mind a wait. xD
Vicious music for a vicious age. ††
Agreed. Although I still think Perturbator's music fits the setting more.

@Master Jaster

Ken sort of reminds me of Pagan Ming from Far Cry. :P Alright, so, though the personality is shorter than what I had requested, it's very well filled. It feels whole and it's concise, so I'll allow it regardless. However, there's two problems with him.

A.) Lust isn't available. I realize he'd very much fit that, but I think Greed would work just fine. He could be greedy for decadence and for knowledge, even.

B.) I'll not touch on that too much but Wabash cannot have traveled earth. He can say he did and fabricate lies, but I must insist that he cannot know of what lies outside of the Thalassa continent structure. He may have knowledge of The Capsule, but cannot have been there. Accordingly, Ken's conversations with people from outside must've been liars or maintanance workers.

Once those two things are fixed, I'd happily accept him.

@TheLoneRook

Heh, so Void help me. I like it. :D Okay, so, a tiny issue I find is the college thing. It's no biggie, and I haven't been very elaborate on Thalassian education, so that's on me. So how Thalassa works is:

The high districts have universities and academies, sorta like a boarding school, but super duper fancy and more... free range? They don't have to live there, but they can. For middle class and the lower citizens, school works in a bit of a different way. Public schools lead through grades one to eleven. You start school at age six, usually. Once you finished eleventh grade, you are to find an apprenticeship. Apprenticeships work in a different way from what you're used to. They go for anywhere between two and four years, and you'll be taught everything you need for your job. The goal is to make you job ready so you can work in the business you take your appenticeship in. That's relevant for whenever Rook's possibly recalling or otherwise relies on his past. Otherwise, he's fine.
