Sword Art Online [Inactive]

Nicholas' pace began to slow as he followed the road he felt that with this head start he could make it before anyone at either pace, and his hunger was slowly but surely wearing him down. He looked up at the orange red sky as it became dimmer by the moment. Near a tree Nicholas began to sit down and rest until he had the energy to move on once more. Removing his helm, he lied his spear on his lap sideways and moved to stare at the now tiny walls of the Town of Beginnings. He was browsing the menus and looking at the party tab. Although his first attempt to party up with someone had failed he was preparing to try one more time and waited for the next passing player.

Duncan turned to the guy who was speaking to him. "You seriously didn't listen to anything? You must be new here. If you missed the obvious we are practically stuck in this game for good. Die here and you die in real life."

Mercedes stared at the people whom were trying to party with them. "What's their level Yuchi?" He asks. "Maybe they'd be..." Wait, stop right there Mercedes. Think about what you're saying. Maybe Yuchi was crazy enough to accept you (or it could all be a front) but these people too? That's too much. Mercedes didn't continue his sentence.

Duncan stopped looking at the guy behind him and looked at the two players. "Cassie, they are trying to get to the other town and large parties attract monsters. Not only that but the next town is a long way from here...." He then smiled and giggled a bit. "Plus they may be trying to have some couple's time together."

Yuchi simply ignored the couples comment as she began speaking.

"I need to level up as quickly as possible, so lets all become a party and fight the monsters, that way in the end we split the experience." She suggested.

(I'll be on my laptop soon, on the bus rn)

Yuchi's comment settled like a rock in his stomach. A rough, hard boulder kind of rock (Any other time this would've been funny to Mercedes with the possible innuendo it could've lead on to. But now just wasn't the time.) "Ah...um...partying with them? Are you sure about that?" He asked nervously while looking down at Yuchi. This is bad! Bad bad bad! These people are going to figure out how much of a loser I am and totally make me monster bait!

(ugh. Hey you guys. Mondays are always the hardest. *yawn* sleepy sleepy~ -u-)

(I have doritos and omg so good)

"I'm positive. See we both have a greater chance at survival, plus I saw that one girl in the Beta Test, so her and I know our way around a fight. Besides, you want to be cool and badass right? Well, we can help you. There are probably tons of players who have already committed suicide over being trapped here, so I don't think you are a coward." She stated firmly, expressing her opinion. Yuchi just really needed to be able to use her sword...

(When can we time skip, so I can have my cool sword)

The first night was to come soon in the new world and Nicholas has started to make his way to the next town past the village as a quest was seemingly still not available, so he began to wonder if NPCs meant anything. His hunger and thirst were defeating him, but he knew slowing down at such a time would not be wise as battle would be difficult in the night rapidly approaching. The atmosphere of the lonely path had grown dark and Nicholas began to hear footsteps throughout the forrest leading to the town. He knew he would soon regret waiting at the tree earlier as he prepared for combat.

Duncan noticed how little time they had left before the night was above them. If they wanted to reach the next town before night time then they would have to leave now. He looked at Mercedes and said: "Look, I understand why you don't want to party with us...but the thing is that out there the world is tough. Big parties have a much bigger chance of surviving than smaller ones...." He smiled. "Besides, we are all heading towards the next town so at least let us travel with you until then. If you don't change your mind when we get there then we will leave you two alone, and that is a promise. What do you think?"

Mercedes stared at Duncan, surprised that he had such a keen eye for detail. At least, he thought so. Duncan knew why he didn't want to party with them? Was he that easy to read? He looks down at Yuchi and thought of every kind of crazy hormonal thought he's had that day...and shivers. Sorry Yu...

He takes a deep sigh. Yuchi thought it was the best idea and like Duncan said, at least just until they reach the next town. It'd be for the best.

"Right..." he said halfheartedly. "Let's party up. Name's Mercuryd- ...you can see the name above my head. Please forget the second part." He said, feeling like an imbecile for coming up with such a ridiculous username. I didn't know I'd have to live with that name...

'Wait, did that really convince!? I should say that more often...' He thought. "Nice to meet you Dog! Let me introduce you two to the others, even if you can already read their usernames." He said with a smile.

Duncan placed a hand on Cassie's head. "This girl over here is Cassie." He then placed his other hand on Snow's head. "And this one over here is Snow, a beta tester." After introducing them he stopped touching their heads and instead he placed his hands inside his pockets. "And I am Leafions!"

Yuchi squinted up at the fading sun, and if they wanted to make it through the woods to the next town they had to leave now.

"So.. are we going to get going now? It's getting late, and we wouldn't want to encounter anything too high level just yet..." She said as she took out her starting weapon, which was a long thin silver blade.

"Gee, this thing is too light..." She said with a frown as she tossed it between her hands, beginning to gain 1/4th of a skill point. However she kept her skill under wraps for now.

(so like...you think 2moons and toast are going to come back and reply? Cuz I'm wondering if I should just like keep on going or just wait it out for them.)

"Yeah, we should and tomorrow morning I guess we should start training..." Mercedes said as he stared at Yuchi's blade, a little worried about how used she was to it. 'Damn...I don't think I've ever touched a blade outside of a cooking knife and pocket knife in the real world.'

He let out a long, loud yawn. "Man, I'm beat...is it possible to sleep in this game?" He asked, looking at Yuchi and Duncan for an answer, hoping he didn't sound too dorky.

Duncan quickly nodded. "Yeah we should...sorry I got a bit distracted. Just let me see if I have all my gear." As Duncan opened his menu he turned to Mercedes. "I will be a hundred percent honest with you....I don't know." He looked back at his menu. "Like you this is my first time ever in SAO. So I am sorry but I can't answer your question..."

Duncan finally stopped checking his gear and then turned to Yuchi and Mercedes. "I am ready now, what about you two? Are you ready?"

"Don't worry guys, there is sleep. This is a virtual reality..." She said, emphasizing reality.

"And yeah, I'm all ready to go!" She says enthusiastically. Yuchi couldn't wait to level up and be able to use her sword from the Beta Test. She definitely found great pride in it; after all, she did make it herself. Maybe that's why the system let her keep it...

Nicholas pulled off of the roads as swiftly as possible when he heard the footsteps quickly approaching forgetting his temporary plans of encounter. He hid behind a tree and began to hear two voices growing in volume "We can't just befall anyone passing us!" said a younger male voice before a mature male's voice reply aggressively with "If we want to survive this we need to take what we can while we can!". Nicholas knew this was nonsense but confronting the sheep and his false shepherd was not the smart thing to do right now. He decided to walk off the trail at a slower pace.

(I'm sorry! I never got any notifications for this. >.<)

Avery waved to the two. She shookk her head, getting out of the trance she had gone into, causing her to not really pay attention to anyone. She didn't really want to question what they were all doing, so she stood back and would listen until she figured out what was going on. She wasn't exactly sure where they were going too, so she would just follow them, but she was pretty sure they were going to the next town, where she assumed almost everyone was going by now.

Duncan waited a couple of second to hear if anybody had any objections. Whe he heard none he felt a certain relief. "Okay everyone, let's get going already before the night reaches us." he said before he began to walk towards Town of Beginnings main entrance.

He hadn't noticed them before but the air was filled with the voices of other players. Some were crying, others were cursing and he even heard some others planning what to do. He tried to ignore them all so that he could concentrate on his own thoughts.

Yuchi heard those voices as well, and some of them were debating on whether or not to commit suicide, or just to win the game. Believe it or not, since Yuchi was an occultist, she actually found joy in the death of others. So Yuchi wore a big smile as the group walked to the next town.

Yuchi would make sure that nobody in her party died though, because if they did who would she have to talk to? Making friends early on in the game is a good thing. Especially because after she makes a name for herself, nobody will want to befriend her...

Mercedes followed silently, close beside Yuchi. He tried to ignore the voices of other people around him by thinking of happy thoughts. Of better days with his friends Luka, Herb, Austine, Fate and Ai. How he missed them.

If they were in the game with me, then it wouldn't be that bad. Hell, it would probably even be enjoyable. He sighed and continued on walking, thinking of better days thinking on how he'll never see his friends again.

As the party made it's way out of the town and into the fields the voice began to fade away slowly. But those voices were replaced by the screams of the players fighting the monsters outside the town. None of the players they saw were fighting alone, they were fighting the monsters in groups of two or five. Duncan noticed how a group of four players attacked a single wolf. 'Seems like a bit of an overkill...' He thought as he watched the group defeating the wolf.

The deeper they went into the field the fewer players there were. Soon the party found themselves alone in the fields as the screams finally ceased. Duncan was glad they had finally left the town and the fact that they were leaving to a more quiet town was something he looked forward to.

(Some of us have school please come to a short halt I have a test)

(Ok you guys, so I'm formerly Raviael...and that account has been banned for 4 days ^_^ So~ I'll be doing replies from here. I just wanted to let you know so I don't get accused for anything faulty)

Straying on the side of the path the sound of footsteps other than his began to increase in volume. 'If people caught up I must really have gone as slow as humanly possible' he thought looking at his feet. In this group of people he swore he saw the enthusiastic girl from the chaotic screech event. He was correct he could make out her whole figure from the distant dark covering them. He no longer wanted to traverse alone and he decide that he would approach them not realizing his weapon was still equipped. "Hello! HEY!" he shouted rushing at them with his weapon flailing around in the air with each movement, at this rate he looked like he was going to try to PK, although his player sign above his head was still green.
