Fantasy Survival Academy!

Kill

That Lovable Killer.
You are DEAD. It's the end of the road. Nothing else to do but wander the Earth as a spirit.. Or so you thought. In actual fact, you wake up at the entrance of a school on an island, surrounded by sea as red as blood and a forest filled with monsters of the night. The school in front of you is ten stories and has up to four living areas, separated by class (Poor/Rich when they were alive). You also begin noticing the fact that something is glowing on your right hand. It looks like a diamond shaped crystal that is embedded into your hand. It glows a light blue color and out comes a voice. "Welcome outsider! This is a pre-recorded message for all new students. You are probably wondering where you are right now. Well, my friend, this is Survival Academy! A school in which you have to survive until graduation, which is when you will have the ability to reincarnate. If you die in this realm, your soul will be erased, never to be seen again. It will be hard to survive though, because of the MANY monster attacks. But don't worry about that, the teachers will deal with it... After their coffee breaks. Monsters may be completely harmless or devastatingly dangerous, so you might want to work in a team to take them down. Lessons will mostly include monsters weak spots and training your powers so pay attention in class.. Wait, you don't know that yet. You now have powers. It has been randomly given to you by muah, your mysterious principal ~Whispering~ No one has seen my face yet. ~Normal voice~ Anyway, good luck, make friends and most importantly... SURVIVE!" And with that, the crystal stopped glowing. Now it's up to you.. Might want to get into the school though, monsters are lurking.

John clutches his fist tightly, holding back tears, and through gritted teeth. "Michael....I will survive and come back to you. That is a promise." He pushes the gates open and walks onto the ground of the school. He is shaking as he aproches the shcool. Its dark, spooky, and most of all there ARE MONSTERS that could come form anywhere. John whispers to himself. "Calm down They have to be messing with you. Remember what Michael said Monsters arn't real......he also said if they were he would protect me....." His eyes tear up but he just blinks them away  "I need to stop acting like I will never see him again. All I have to do is survive and I will be able to be with my brother." Standing right before the door he is quiet intimidated by the size. He knocks on the door and waits a little while before opening the door. Peaking his head inside he looks around. "Hello? Is anyone there?"

Jazmine was on a varnished bench with her chin tucked into the nook between her legs. Her head shot up and her legs shot out. Her hands tightening around thumbs, nails digging into flesh. leaving crescent blemishes across her palms. The young girl observed John from a safe distance, her face shadowed by the overhang of the banister, her green eyes glinting in the pale fluorescent light. She dared not speak. She hadn't seen anyone yet; they must all be asleep in their dorms- If this place even had dorms. She subconsciously touched the spot where the bullet had tunneled through her cranium. The smooth baby skin there frightened her. It was as if the wound that had ended her life was a mere scratch.

John inches into the building, a little hesitant after not hearing any response. He was looking around for any sign that this was where he was supposed to be. "I feel like something is going to pop out any second." Just as soon as he said that he spots the dimly lit Jazmine. It was a shock and in that split second  he couldn't tell if she was another lost soul or one of those monsters. He jumps back screaming in shock. He ends up backing into and end table knocking it over and falling onto the ground, bashing his head. He roles around clutching the back of his head. There is only a small bump, no major damage done.

Today has been a rough day for Al.  He overdosed on drugs, presumably died, but then woke up in a downright spooky location.  He woke up in front of an entrance to a school, with a blood red sea behind him and a forest surrounding it.  Really, it was the former that alarmed him most.  As far as he was aware, seas were a dark blue, with a little bit of variation depending on certain factors.  Still, something about the forest frightened him on an instinctual level, as if he knew that this was the only time he'd ever play for keeps.  Suddenly, in his hand, something glowed.  A strange, almost jovial voice began speaking.  "Welcome outsider! This is a pre-recorded message for all new students. You are probably wondering where you are right now. Well, my friend, this is Survival Academy! A school in which you have to survive until graduation, which is when you will have the ability to reincarnate."  Reincarnate?  Al's eyes widened.  This was the afterlife!  So lost in his thoughts, he barely paid attention to the rest of the message.  This was unlike any culture's beliefs on the afterlife.  It was closest, he supposed, to some combination of Buddhism and ancient Egyptian.  Absolutely amazing.  Sure, Al heard something about monsters and powers, but that was hardly worth half as much as the knowledge of what came after you die!  Well, he should probably get into the school before he died, but the learning was the big part here.

Al stood still at the door.  He was going to enter, but there was a commotion inside, including screaming, knocking something over, and a loud thud.  Hardly an inviting sound.  Was this one of the monsters?  Were there even any monsters inside the school?  Hopefully not, on both accounts.  Al looked behind him, making sure there was nothing to fear, took a deep breath, and casually slipped inside the school.

Van had a rough fall at the entrance of the school, but once he stood back on his feet, he took in the sights around him. A blood red sea, a misty looking forest with tree's as tall as the clouds and the giant looking school. When he looked down a light was emitting from a diamond shaped crystal embedded into his hand. It explained how this would be a second chance in life and that we had to survive until graduation day, even though he was past school. What interested him the most was the whole 'powers' aspect. He wondered which one he had been given.

Enough about that though. Why did he have to go back to school? He was twenty seven years old, so he had already graduated.

Van walked through the gates of the school and into the main yard, which contained a fountain spraying out the same red sea water. The statue was gray and in the shape of a tall man, with no face. And I know what you're thinking, but no it wasn't slender man. Van believed it was the principle of the school, because of the statue having no face, being all mysterious like. He admired it for a bit, before he moved on to the door entrance of the school.

Before he even reached the entrance, a bat looking monster that was three times the size of a normal one flew out at him, trying to grasp him with it's hawk-like feet. Quickly, he drew his sword and blocked the attempted attack with it, before spinning it around, using the sharp end to slice across one of it's wings. It fell with a thud, causing the ground to shake ever-so-lightly.

"Not so tough now, are ya?"

He'd say, spitting to the side of him while he approached the beast cautiously.

After a little while the pain subsided, he is hit with a difficult situation. There is something in the room with him. Though after a little inspection he come to terms that there just another person, he is referring to Jazmine. Though he hears the door open behind him which causes him to freez in fear. And yet again another startling nose follow by a rumbling. His eyes widen as he as he thinks about what kind of creture has to be big enough to shake the ground like that. Shaking his his boots he quickly  moves behind the end table and prays that he won't be found.

"Bloody hell." He'd say as the bat stood back onto it's feet, even if it could no longer get away through flight. Van didn't really feel all that fazed by the creature, cause' after all, it was just a bat.. With terribly large limbs and a thirst for human blood by the looks of it around it's mouth. Before the creature could try and attack, Van pushed forward one of his own, using the tip of the sword to pierce into the monsters stomach. Van then twisted the sword, so that the sharp side of the blade was facing upwards and with a struggling effort, sliced the monster upwards, almost cutting the entire body in half. "That thing was bigger than me." He'd mention, finding it weird that there was not even a single guard to fight the monsters with.

He brushed himself off and looked at his blood covered body with a sigh. Then, he fell backwards onto the ground of his own accord, arms outstretched and facing towards the night filled sky. He expected stars, a few clouds and the moon.. He didn't expect a number count of 9,356.. It must have been at ten thousand at one point, possibly meaning that this was how many students were left at the school.. Damn, a big number for a school.

Sillian watched as the strange bat monster was almost split in two by someone else. He considers asking how that seemed easy for them before deciding that, compared to everything so far, this wasn't actually that strange. He had received a strange message from a crystal in his hand, telling him things that he could not fully believe, but decided that since he was already dead, there wouldn't be anything bad happening if he believed the message, other than possibly re-dying to a monster. He glances towards the sky, expecting anything but what he saw. A number? He didn't know what it meant, but he guessed it was important. In the end, he simply walks over to the one who killed the bat thing. "Hey, good to see you. What do you think that number means?"

@Kill

I had never known that I would've died in that blizzard. It was unexpected. A mere moment in life, where you meet death. It was a scary thought for the living, but for the dead, it was a fact. A part of life where every living creature meet's it's end.

If only we knew when we'd meet our deaths. We could've said good bye our loved ones, accomplish so much more, and meet our deaths in peace. Not knowing the unknown was a torturous feeling, a sense of foreboding, a sense of fear, and your death date can never be told. Estimated, but never told. I wish that I had known my death, and then maybe I could've saved all those lives that depended on me. Instead, I failed them, I failed them, dying in the snow.

I was trying to reach my village, called after our founder, Alexandria. I was carrying a dozen cures for the deadly disease that had ravaged our town, bringing it from another town. I was about to become a hero, about to save lives. I had a mother waiting at home, sick and ailing herself. If I had survived that blizzard, I would've been able to cure her.

But I didn't.

When one think's of death, they think of the Grim Reaper, or maybe an afterlife. Eternal torment, or eternal paradise. They're right. There is an after life. But what I found, was not even close to what the living thought of an 'afterlife." Instead, I found myself staring straight into an enormous castle made of cold stone, ten stories high, intimidating me with all it's imposing glory. I'm sprawled on the frozen ground, chilled and terrified. What the hell was happening? I got to my knees, and suddenly, an wall of ice erupted from the ground, inches from my face. I gasped, backing away, staring at the cool surface. I blinked, stunned, looking at my own reflection. My hair, which used to be a nutty brown, was now white as snow, and my eyes, which used to be a hazel-honey colour, were now a blazing, sun-golden colour. It freaked me out. I stood up rapidly, checking if anything else had changed. I was wearing my old, tattered grey shirt, tight-fitting and elbow-sleeved. I was wearing brown trousers and a pair of black boots, but that was about it. I shivered; who knew death would be so cold? With no other choice, I began walking  towards the building, until a voice interrupts my trek. Bewildered, I looked around for the source, until I realized it was coming from my hand. I gazed at blue, diamond-shaped crystal embedded into my right hand, watching it glow in response to a man talking.

Survival Academy? Monsters? Magical lessons? Superpowers? All these thoughts whirled around my head. I glanced at the ice blockade I had created, and then glanced at my hands. Ice...hands...powers...academy....did that mean I had ice powers? Actual ice powers? This made no sense. I couldn't believe it.

I had ice powers, a forest full of monsters and a supernatural, dead academy I had survive and graduate from.

Wow.

Flustered and still suffering from aftershock, I headed into the Academy.

And then, I noticed the bat monster.

(Hope you don't mind me writing in first person. I may have stretched the intro too long, but eh. Free to interact :)  )

Immediately after entering the school building, he saw two shadows seem to move from sight, and Al swallowed some accumulated saliva and backed up so his back was against the door.  Outside, the moon and stars illuminated the ground, but in here there was nothing.  He'd have to wait for his eyes to adjust, and until then, he was going just a step above blind. The ground shook violently for a second, before being calmed.  Did that meant that who- whatever was in here didn't like him being in here?  Al shook his head.  Either way, inside the building was probably safer.  He was already dead, so why should he fear anything, right?  Al carefully and slowly worked his way to his left, sticking close to the wall, aiming for an end table, which is where he'd seen one of the shadow creatures.  If they were really people, then he'd be glad to know.  If they weren't, then... well, he'd figure out what to do then.

John shakes where he is kind of making the end table also shake making some noise. He is doing his best to be quiet but he can't help but tremble. His heart stops as he hears approaching footsteps. With each step his hear beats faster and faster. But to his relief he sees a human face. "Oh thank god!" He takes a huge breath of relief. "You have no idea how freaked out I was, knowing that there is another human here make me so happy." He stops trembling as if he doesn't care that he doesn't know this person at all. He just seems relieved that he is not alone.

Al was surprised by the face he was able to make out.  He was confronted by someone that was surprisingly young.  Somewhere between 12 and 15, he guessed.  "Uh, yeah, ditto," Al said.  Al was slightly distracted by the thought that he would be easily overpowered, but he shooed that odd stray thought away.  "Let's go... look for someone that really knows what's going on."  Sure, presumably they both heard the same recording, but what were they supposed to do now?  Just wait until morning?  Plus, what kind of monster would he be leaving someone so young to fend for himself?  Even though he was hardly strong enough to protect this kid, he'd at least like to try.  In the relief of learning that he wasn't going to be double killed, he completely forgot about the second shadow.

John happily agrees to go with the strange man. Well going with a stranger is much better then being alone with a monster. So he moves in really close to Al as if he were trying to hide. He lightly holds onto the shirt of him as if attaching himself to him. He felt more safe now that he had someone with him which allowed him to thing straight. "That's a good idea, where do you think we could find the principle person?" He never went to school before so he doesn't even know what a principle is, heck he doesn't even know what a teacher is.

"Where do you think we could find the principal person?" John said.  Al wished he knew.  If the principal was never seen before, he doubted he could find them.  Al took a moment to look around, now that his eyes were adjusted.  They were in a somewhat luxurious school entrance, which he supposed he should have expected.  He noticed a human shaped figure sitting on a bench.  Was that the figure he saw earlier?  He hoped.  Al didn't consider himself a very fearful person, but he'd rather not die, and if this was the figure, then that means that there were probably no monsters inside.

Al tried to talk to his temporary charge.  "I don't know where we can find anyone.  My name's Al, what's yours?" he asked.  Al didn't mean to be brusque, he was just a bit distracted by worrying about this figure.  After receiving an answer, he was going to walk over to this person, unless something unexpected occurred.

John could tell that Al just got a little scared, but knowing they were not in any danger as of right now, he snickers at him. "My name is John...." He says before looking off to the side like his is thinking of something painful. "Hey Mr.Al.....I never  went to shcool.... so... I don't know how long it takes to graduate.... how long will we be here?" He looks up at Al with tear filled eyes, doing  his best to hold them back, but it was clear he is in emotional distress.

Suddenly, his view of the number was covered by another person who had walked over to him. A little startled by this, he almost went for his sword again, but he realized soon after that he saw the humanoid face. He'd sit back up from the ground and looked off into the distance, near the forest. "I dunno. I'm guessing it has something to do with the amount of students here. Like some counting thing that tells us how many have either died, or joined the school." He'd say, shrugging in the process. Van honestly didn't know what it was though, it could have meant something else.

@Peculiar Panda

He listens, interested to hear what he thought the strange numbers in the sky meant. The response made some sense, once he thought about it, but he did want to know for sure what it was. After all, if it was important he had to know. Thinking about it for a bit, he then decides that without someone else who knows for sure what it is, he isn't going to figure it out by guessing anymore, so he may as well believe the other's reasoning. "Huh, that makes sense, I guess. That would be a lot of people, but maybe a lot of people came here at some point so who knows. Could be something else, but I cant be sure either. Anyway, my names Sillian. What's yours?" he replies.

Never went to school?  He didn't look five years old, and he was crying.  Did that mean he was homeschooled?  Al wasn't sure.  John looked at him with teary eyes, and Al struggled for words to make him feel better.  "Ah, we'll just be here for a couple months.  Probably."  He wasn't exactly sure if that was true, to be honest.  This could be a high school, or it could be an entirely different case, which was most likely, given them being in the afterlife  Although, to keep it from being overcrowded, they'd have to have a graduation every couple seconds.  Given how long he's been here, that evidently was not the case.  His thoughts kept wandering back to the figure.

"Say, John, I'm going to go over there," he said, pointing to the bench where he saw, and, in fact, still sees the person.  A person.  He could see them clearly now, and he could see that it was a human being.  Or a monster in a human suit.  He had no way of knowing, but thought that knowing was important.  He vacillated between taking John with him or not, before deciding he should.  "So, keep close to me, okay?"  Al made a show of walking towards this figure loudly and consistently, so that they wouldn't be startled by him.

John found peace in Al's word believing that all this would only be a couple of moths. He rubs the tears out of his eyes and lifts up his chin. "Alright I can make it a few months....I have to make it a few moths." He gives a small smile pulling on his shirt. "And it should be easy with someone like you." He might be jumping to conclusions but he sees that he is a nice person and that he wants to put his trust in him. Even if that trust isn't founded in any way, he would rather regret it later then waste a chance at a new friend. Plus he is quite naive, Michael always chastised him about trusting random people. When he mentions he is going to see the person over on the bench. John nods and gets behind him and pears around him. "Hello? Your a person right?" He asks Jazmine.

@CoolGuy @TheMADQ

Jazmine had been expecting any number of questions, but this certain one put her off guard. Not just because it was a strange question, even though such a thing was a certainty. It was a strange question because well... she wasn't at all sure.

"I hope so." She mumbled, biting her bottom lip, nearly drawing blood.

Raine Grey

tumblr_inline_nm7d53xDXZ1rrrkde.gif

Pain. Blood. So much pain and blood. She couldn't think straight, couldn't figure out what was going on. The forest around her was dark and foggy, like a true horror movie come to life. Was this a dream? Was any of this real?  The crystal imbedded in her hand said she was dead, but she didn't remember dying. It told her that if she survived she would return to the realm of the living. But what if she didn't want to? Returning there meant she would return to her father's torture, and she didn't want that.

How long ago had she landed? Had it been minutes, hours, even days? She wasn't sure, all she knew was that she was wounded and she was terrified. Raine had fallen from the sky into the forest, landing in the plush undergrowth that cushioned her fall. But she wasn't fortunate enough to fall into any empty forest. The crystal had mentioned monsters, terrible beings that would kill her again if she wasn't careful. However, her loud fall seemed to have signaled one of her location, and Raine was attacked.

The creature was a skeleton on fire, burning bright purple and lighting up the darkness forest. It seemed to burst out of the shadows, out of nowhere. It was reminded Raine of a wolf, the picture of the familiar species lighting up in her brain. Suddenly, her body began shifting. Her bones cracked painfully and shifted, thick fur began growing all over her body, and soon Raine was walking on all fours. The crystal had mentioned something about powers, could this possibly be hers?

Before Raine had time to even assess the situation, she felt a burning sensation on her body. Looking over, the creature had come closer, it's fire singing her new fur and causing the skin beneath to burn. Raine barely had time to think before the creature reached out and clawed her down her shoulder. Raine immediately took of running, sprinting, wanting to be anywhere but near that thing. She followed her instincts, wherever they led her. Pain. Blood. So much pain and blood. The thought kept racing through her mind.

Before she knew, Raine burst through the gates into a courtyard in front of a large, ghoulish building. She had lost the creature, but now she was lost as well. Seeing a group of people standing not to far off, Raine raced up to them, unaware that her bloody wolf form may be misidentified as one of the monsters mentioned before. She just needed someone to help her.

A strange answer, but Al hoped it was meant in a more philosophical way.  After death, could we be considered human?  It hardly mattered to him, but perhaps to others it may.  She seemed to be easily beaten so long as he attacked immediately after deciding to.  Wait, what?  Al shook his head.  This was a getting odd.  "I'm Al," he said, carefully leaving out John's name, just in case.  "Are you a, ah, fellow freshman?"  If she wasn't then he'd finally have some information.  If she was, then at least they'd be confused together.  Really, the principal should have left a more detailed introduction.

John seemed to be more comforted by Jazmine's statement. He inches forward and then just takes her hand. "You do this seem like a monster to me." Then giving her a smile he says. "And if your not a monster then your a friend. I mean they did say make friends and you will survive so three is better then two." He seems quite enthusiastic about this all. In the corner of his eye he sees something move and he quickly looks over there only to see a painting on a wall. Looking around everything seems still. "Did anyone else see something move?" He is now holding onto her hand tightly.
