Fantasy SuperWing Heroes

Invisible monster

Blah blah, can't think of decent title, penguins
Welcome to the world of SuperWing Heroes! In the distant future, where the sky is filled with flying boats, skyships, fortresses and towns, a group of slightly crazy people travel the skies in an old ship, heavily refitted and redesigned, called "The SuperWing". I really want this to be friendly for people dropping in and out. The good thing about this setup is that whenever the ship lands somewhere, an opportunity would open for people to leave or join, and new people would need only the basic premise to get started, as their character would likely not know the previous goings on anyway.

Lyon tapped his foot impatiently on the dock, his mind wandering. He walked over to the huge board on the edge of the pier, advertising various ships, the posters begging for crew members. Lyon allowed his eyes to drift to his poster, which bore bright blues and yellows, and huge, screaming letters, that read:

JOIN THE SUPERWING.

SMALL TIME ADVENTURE CREW WANTED.

Earnings will be equally split, as well as expenses.

ANY SKILLSETS WILL BE WELCOMED.

Interested parties should meet at dock 5, Wednesday 5th April, 9:30.

Lyon scrutinised it, his eye skimming over the bright text. Had he used too much all caps? He shrugged. No such thing.

((I'm posting. Delete this if I'm wrong.))

Connor ambled his way towards what was most definately the Superwing. Everything else had to much gloss to it, nothing that shiny ever needed crew members, especially old ones. Dirty ships, ships that looked used, on the other hand, always needed a couple of knowledgeable hand on deck to keep the green horns in check and make sure they are tying all their knots right. And someone that knew a few good shanties. He, had both of those.

Hearing the shuffling footsteps approaching him, Lyon turned away from the board. An old man, maybe 60 or so, was approaching him, or rather, his ship. "Uh, hi. Are you here to join the SuperWing?" Lyon gave the old man what he hoped was a warm, welcoming smile, though he knew himself well enough to know that it was far more likely to be his trademark 'crazy, lopsided grin'. That wouldn't be a great first impression. Almost as bad as this guy showing up, expecting an accomplished captain, and finding some 24 year old man-child with no experience, admittedly great hair, and no crew to speak of. Realising how immature and inexperienced he must have looked in front of this man, Lyon self consciously straightened his coat. Trying to sound professional, he spoke again. "It's right here."

Charles walked around the docks, a lit cigarette in his mouth, just as usual. He was feeling kinda bored today, so he decided to take a stroll where all the ships were kept. He always loved ships, did since he was little, and that made him become who he is today: a pilot. He wasn't the best, but he was good enough for some people who offered him small tasks, that usually consisted of bringing a ship from point A to point B, unloading the cargo and then returning to point A. They weren't the best jobs, mostly because he didn't really have fun while doing them, but his clients played pretty well, and that was a good reason for him to keep doing them.

Charles looked around, and his eyes fell on a poster, with bright colors and big, screaming letters. It said something about "The Superwing", it was probably a ship, and that it was in need of an adventure crew. Well, if it was a ship and it needed a crew, then it had to be a big ship. Maybe he could enlist for this, it certainly seemed an interesting idea.

Charles quickly made his way to dock 5. When he arrived and saw the Superwing, the pilot suddently stopped. It was gigantic! He stood there, amazed by the huge, and surprisingly new, ship.

"I figured it was." Connor said, ambling right by him. "And wipe that stupid grin off your face. It's hard enough to take you seriously as it is. Trying looking more serious, and a beard wouldn't hurt." he said. After his little tyrade, he was rather close to the ship he would be serving on. "So this is the Superwing." after a short pause, he says "I've seen better." and got on board.

"Oh..." Lyon's face twitched, but his leering smile refused to fade. "What the hell was that?", he muttered to himself, stroking his chin, cursing his inexplicable lack of ability to grow facial hair. When his dad had sailed this ship, he had been everything you wanted in a captain. Years of experience, tall and strong, even had the stereotypical captain beard. Lyon looked like a skinny teenager, and his spiky black and white hair didn't help matters. He looked over his ship. His dad had once used it on trading voyages, but it had long since fallen into disrepair. Until Lyon got it refurbished, that is. Now it was a bona fide adventure ship, and a big one, too. And now, it officially had a crew member, harsh comments notwithstanding. Lyon realised, with faint horror he didn't know anything about this guy! Not his name, skills, what job he wanted... Lyon quickly turned and was about to follow the old man into the ship to ask, but someone else was standing in front of it. Someone else who looked way older and more prepared than him. Great.

"Who... Who's ship is this?" Charles asked to no one in particular, not even noticing that there was anoher person with him. He just stood, still as a statue, admiring the great ship, looking at everything it had: the new wood, the untouched sails, the colors... It was truly beautiful.

Jessica was looking at the sign up sheets. None of them looked impressive enough to take on her enemy ship. They were all cargo ships of some kind. The all caps letters then captured her eye. She instantly pivoted and headed straight for the dock 5. She frowned at the small crew. She was about to leave when she saw the ship. It was massive and perfect. Why not?

She walked up to the old man on board the ship, assuming he was the captain. She stuck out her hand.

"Saw your poster. I'll be willing to join. Names Jessica. Most people just call me Jess though."

Connor looked at the offered hand with a blank look on his face. Then his face split into a smile and he took her hand in his. "Well welcome aboard the Superwing. Names Connor. But I'm not the captain. First mate technically speakin. That over there is the captain." And with that, he gently turned her to face the true captain in all his man-child glory.

Aqua was walking on the edge of the dock wearing his iconic mask people new about but the people only called Him the "problem child" because he would always get in fights without even talking to people and would beat up even the most biggest group of people with ease. But today he was just looking for a ship that would take him as a crew member to get off the island sense he had no family there. Talking to himself "would they take me.... Probably because nobody mows me on this ship I hope" and hops up on the superwimg looking around.

Lyon walked over to the other man, trying to seem confident. "It's mine.", he said, instinctively raising his shoulders a little in a fruitless effort to seem taller. "We're still open if you'd like to join..." Suddenly, Lyon was aware of a someone one the deck above him. His deck. The deck of his ship. He turned around, and spotted two strangers on board. Instantly forgetting the conversation he'd already instigated, he bounded up the steps and burst onto the deck. He stared at the small group, consisting of a young woman, the old man, and someone... else. Lyon stood, confused. The old man's presence made sense, at least, but Lyon had no idea who the other two were. "Uh, are you here to join the Superwing? I'm the captain. My name's Lyon." Lyon looked at them blankly, not sure what to say. In spite of himself, he smiled.

"She is." Connor said, gently shoving the woman forward. "Thinks I was the captain. Him, on the other hand." He remembered when he had first spotted the boy. He nearly had a heart attack on the spot. Didn't the boy know to not to sneak up on an old man like that. "He just appeared out of the blue."

Lyon extended his hand towards the woman, for once managing a reasonable facial expression that didn't make him look insane or evil. "What's your name?" Lyon asked. "Oh, that goes for you, too," he added looking at the old man. "And you?" He asked, looking towards the other guy.

Katie Walters was just walking. Minding her own business. She scanned the postered walls thoughtfully, her mind not really reading the words, and instead drifting to her own thoughts. All of these were the sam-- Whoa. Okay, that one caught her eye. Katie moved over to the poster in question, the large, all-cap letters sticking out like a giant blinking arrow saying 'LOOK AT THIS'.

It was bright blue and yellow, and read: 'JOIN THE SUPERWING. SMALL TIME ADVENTURE CREW WANTED. Earnings will be equally split, as well as expenses. ANY SKILLSETS WILL BE WELCOMED. Interested parties should meet at dock 5, Wednesday 5th April, 9:30.' Katie squinted slightly. Then she glanced down at her watch. It was about 9:30 now. Whether the poster had meant AM or PM was beyond her.

She adjusted the bag over her shoulder and quickened her pace to a jog, grinning to herself as she approached Dock 5. The sight before her made her jaw drop a little. 'Okay,' she thought to herself, 'that really is a super wing.' As she drew nearer, she caught sight of a few people already aboard. It looked like an older man, a girl, and two younger guys.

"Excuse me...?" Katie called from down below, hand cupped around her mouth in an attempt to amplify the sound. She had to check before just going aboard. Who wants to make it awkward just going on a random ship without permission? Not her, certainly. "Is this the SuperWing...?" She figured the older guy was the captain. He had that 'wise-old-captainy-guy' look, after all. Kinda.

((Sorry; I had no idea this had started! (|||||||||)O ))

Aqua was just looking around at the deck of the super wing when he noticed that the old geezer and the woman were standing near a what it looked to him a malevolent spirit. He what looked like him teleporting to the three was him just walking there and stares at the malevolent person with eyes piercing thourgh the soul but he had his hood covering his eyes and his mask is covering his lower face and all that's seen is part of his eye and some white hair with red streaks in it hanging out. "Hey I'm here to join this crew"

Jessica smiled at the woman, who made the mistake as Jessica had just moment before.

Jessica was about to shake the mans hand when unexpectedly a man filled the space. She grunted in displeasure.

"I apologize for the mistake" she then lightly pushed the man aside. "My names Jessica, but I just go by Jess. I was looking to join your crew if that's alright with you."

Aqua looks at Jessica that just pushed him aside and turns away walking around the ship and sees someone he notices from a past fight and flicks him off. The pissed man comes over to Aqua and is 4x bigger than him and says "god damn abandoned brat die!" The man tries to punch Aqua and Aqua ducks the punch and kicks him in the head making him fly off the ship with ease. And how's back to looking around like a little kid again

((Aqua, quick tip. Even though your person may be an apparent BA, try to be a BA when it makes sense, and not at a random moment. Please and thank you.))

Connor silently pointed the newcomer in the direction of the actual captain. Perhaps he should just stand close by, and slightly behind, the real captain. Maybe that'll stop all of this nonsense. "Names Connor McKinley cap'n." He said in a loud and only slightly rasping voice. "I've served on many a ship and with many a crew. I know about just a bit of everything."

Aqua sees Connor walking around and the Aqua comes up to Connor and says while smiling "do you know where the captain is gramps" and extends his hand out to shake his hand to establish a friend.

Charles looked at the boy who just dropped him in the middle of a conversation and shook his head "kids these days..." He tought out loud, and slowly made his way on the ship. There were already a lot of people there: there was another old man, a hooded boy who was talking to the old man, what he just learned to be the captain and a girl who was talking to the captain. Great. Everyone was talking with someone and he had no one to talk to. Oh, well, he would just have to wait. Charles started walking around and looking at the ship. He wanted to see if it was beautiful on the inside as it was from the outside.

Katie cautiously boarded the ship, still a little unsure. Everyone seemed to be busy with one another, and she wasn't sure what to do or who she was supposed to talk to. The only one who didn't seem busy was an older man, who was just kind of standing around, examining. She figured he couldn't be the captain then. He had obviously never seen this ship before and was curious about most everything.

"Excuse me," Katie said, giving the man a nervous smile. "I'm Katie. Are you here to join the SuperWing?"

Aqua goes up to the side of the ship to where the girl that just got on is and sites on the side of the ship and shouts.

"Boooooooorrrrrrrrreeeeddddd!"

Katie's head whipped around to look at the stranger guy, frowning a little as he called out for no apparent reason. He seemed like he needed (or just wanted) a lot of attention, which made her wonder what kind of background he could have come from. If he needed so much attention, he must have come from a childhood with barely any at all.

And if he was trying to get her attention (which she doubted, but hey, it was still a possibility), it wasn't working.
