Fantasy Supernatural Teenage Drama

Rob looked at Jordan and smiled, "Hey." And then he remembered the hallway and his smile disappeared, along with a feeling of saddness, "Uh... How's your day been?" He tried masking it because he knew she'd pick up on it right away, but he wasn't sure if it worked or not, and his face wasn't good at hiding emotion either. He looked away and back at the man

"Who knows? I heard Mr. G just picked random students," Jackie said, shrugging. "But was it just me, or is everyone in the play relatively powerful?" She sighed. "It's weird either way, so I guess it doesn't really matter. We just have to go with it, it seems." She yawned. "I'm sorry, I didn't sleep at all... I've been sleeping in class all day."

Dexter laid on the hospital bed, almost in a comatose state. In his mind, he floated weightlessly in a pitch black space. He could still identify parts of his body due to some type of lighting that seemed to radiate off of him. Trying to recall he suddenly understood where he was. In one of his advanced classes, they often discussed a plane in everyone's psyche that acted as an alternate reality, according to ones consciousness. Perplexed at the nothingness, he concluded that he must be knocked out. But... in some way, he felt that he wasn't completely alone. He could sense that someone was watching him. In the outside world, Dexter visible winced silence while the others were around him. An intense pressure began surrounding everyone in the room. Dexter's eyes slowly opened up, they glowed a faint and eerie white.

"I don't blame you. I wasn't even in most of my classes today. I'm sure I'll hear about it tomorrow from my teachers." Alec sighed. He knew he hadn't missed too much, since it was only the second day, but he wasn't looking forward to the extra work. "Yeah, seems like we're all fairly well known for our abilities. But why would we be chosen based on that?"

Jordan felt a wave a sadness course through her, and she was confused by it. She didn't know that Rob had seen what happened in the hallway. "My days been interesting." She replied. "Rob? Why are you sad...?" She looked at Ryder for a second then back at Rob, and walked over to him slightly and looked at the man, wondering if he was causing the mood. She then glanced back over at Ryder and Dexter and frowned slightly, "Dex is waking up. Is he okay?" She asked, then glanced at Rob again.

"Gosh, I don't know," Jackie said. She hummed, thinking, then looked up. "Maybe it's just to keep us out of trouble? You know, because we're staying after school for this thing, and if we're tired then we won't try anything stupid?" She yawned again. "I just get more irritable and childish when I'm tired, though, so that might backfire."

"Huh? Uh. Just.. the guy, its sad that.. he's like this.. Hopefully we can get him out of here soon.." He looked over at Dex, "Lets go check on Dex, Im just.. Maybe seeing him get up will help." He scratched his head. "Question though." He wanted to ask about her and Ryan, it was on the tip of his tongue, "Uh, think you can help me with the play? Cause I tried watching a movie, and Im, just more lost than I started off, I thought the play was set in like.. Medieval times?

"Who doesn't? Besides, I won't be stirring up much trouble for another week or so. Unless I find a healer willing to help." Some healers weren't willing to help others often, as it could greatly weaken them. "Or maybe they're trying to impress the council by showing their powerful students have other talents. I heard some of the council members are coming for a visit in a few months."

Ryder examined Dexter, waiting for any sort of response. When he opened his eyes and revealed blank whites, however, he jerked back, knocking into his hair and shoving it back a couple inches. "What the hell," he muttered and shook Dex's arm. "Hey, wake up, man. You're scaring me." As the boy's eyes widened, some sort of foreign pressure began to build, making it hard to breathe. "Hey! Dexter, stop it!" Ryder shouted, grabbing his shoulders and full-out shaking him.

Edward called Ryan's attention again, "Ryan, isn't it time for your play practice?" The teen shifted his gaze to Edward, "How did yo-...Mr. Martin huh?" Edward nodded. Ryan stood up and put the drumsticks away, "Thank you for not kicking me out". Edward replied, "It's fine. Go have fun at your practice". Ryan left the room and entered room 310, the said practice area which was also his Calculus room.

Jackie laughed at that. "And they choose acting? To showcase our skills? Are they crazy?" She was bent in half, she was laughing so hard. "I mean- like, I'd be okay at it, I think, and I'm sure Ryan and Jordan will be great, but-" here she looked at Alec and started laughing harder- "You would have a frown on your face the entire play because you don't wanna be there, and no offense but I'm really worried about Rob because I saw him today mumbling to himself about how he doesn't understand anything Mercutio says and wow, Mr. G, good move!"

Jordan looked at Rob, still confused then shook her head focusing on his question, "I believe that some of the remakes were set in present time, but the play is set in medieval time." Suddenly a pressure began to fill the room, and Ryder's words startled Jordan and she ran over to Dexter and held her head from the pressure. Fear washed over her as she saw Dex's eyes, "What's wrong with his eyes!?" She exclaimed. Jordan looked for the nurse but she wasn't in the room.

Alec chuckled. "I know. It doesn't make any sense. But I was thinking more along the lines of, "Look, our best students can also do this." Like to show they're the best school or something." He ran a hand through his hair and glanced around the room. "The scripts are up there."

Charlotte arrived to the room where practice was going to take place in a few minutes. She continued reading her book hoping to get an idea of the entire play. She knew who her character was but just didn't understand the play. She saw some other students who arrived before her talking but she decided to stay out of their conversation

Rob's instincts kicked in and he turned into his armored form and frowned, "Whats going on?" He shrugged, trying to relieve the pressure off of him any way he could, but to no avail.

Ryan saw Jackie and Alec in the room, "Oh hey guys...". Mr. G was setting up some props around the area and didn't notice anyone's entrance into his room. Ryan looked at Mr. G's desk which was covered in the costumes that he and the other...actors would perform in. "We aren't doing a dress rehearsal or anything right? Because we didn't even get the chance to look at our scripts yet and check if those clothes fit us" Ryan said as Mr. G turned around. "When you wear the outfits...if they fit ofcourse, then you will be more into your character" Mr. G explained. Ryan took a deep breath, "Yay outfits".

"I don't-" Ryder's words caught in his throat as he struggled to breathe. Dexter's eyes were glowing oddly, as though he wasn't completely there and instead was possessed by some other being. "D***, this is bad," he muttered, clutching his chest as the pressure fought against him.

Jackie wandered up to the scripts. "Yay, speeches," she said dryly. She looked over at the costumes, more interested in those than the scripts. She looked over at Ryan. "Hey," she said, giving him a little wave. "Where are the others, do you know?" she asked him.

"Dress rehearsals already? Aren't you rushing this? We haven't even read over our parts yet," Alec said, wrinkling his nose. He stayed on the opposite side of the classroom from the teacher, remembering how he could manipulate emotions so easily.

Jordan tried to take a deep breath and hold it and looked at the others holding her head. The ungifted man groaned in the background feeling the pressure. She felt sick herself, and the fearful and confused emotions of the others were rubbing onto her. She glanced around more for the nurse silently pleading she'd show up and fix this, but the nurse wasn't in sight.

Ryan shook his head, "No clue". He decided to leave the scripts alone and just look at the costumes first. They were labeled with sticky notes that read each character's name, "Oh man, the fashion is very up to date". He said sarcastically eyeing the blue thing he was going to wear, "At least Mr. G changed the pants".

"I'm not rushing you. I'm helping you get the feel of your character more easily so that it would be more easy to act" Mr. G stated.

Dexter felt the dark space vibrate violently, causing it to flash from white, to red, and then to black again. Voices unidentifiable to him began ringing in his ear and he held his head in severe pain. A female voice rang over the rest of them and it invaded his ear. Dexter felt unspeakable fear that he never experienced in his life. "Don't let it control you." She said before giving a low and tickled cackle. It was the last voice he heard before he jolted back to consciousness. He hadn't realize that he was screaming as hard as he could, tears streaming down his reddened face. "NOOOO!! NOOOO!!" he wailed. He shook himself violently, it felt like his body was being ripped apart before his eyes.

"Hey, Ryan, throw me mine?" Jackie called from the front of the classroom. She rolled her eyes at Mr. G. "Whatever you say, sir," she said. "Are you sure you don't just want to watch us squirm?"

"Yeah, that's not gonna fit me," Alec said, getting up to look at his costume. It was way too big, and it looked as if it had been made for someone several inches taller and much broader than Alec. "So I'm not wearing it."

Mr. G looked at Jackie, "I'm sure. The costumes have been made out of comfortable fabric...not itchy at all". He was actually telling the truth. The teacher grabbed measuring tape then rapidly measure Alec. Then, he move his hand over Alec's costume. The measurements changed and he smiled, "All better". Yep, that was the reason why he earned his spot as a math teacher as well. Ryan took Jackie's costumed and walked it over to her instead, "I don't feel comfortable throwing this. Who knows what Mr. G would do if I accidentally threw it too hard".
