Eventually with the group arriving at the clinic Chase stopped at the front door and opening to allow the rest of the group to shuffle through. Preferring Ash to go first in the event there was still those within, even this late, to question them. Especially considering his half-naked form. He also guessed the staff would have been appraised of Vitae's current status, and about the Werewolves by now. Though when Morgan would attempt to pass him by he'd speak up, "Your uncle already left, sent a text that he was heading back. We stick around too long and he's going to send a search party after us." His tone was rather flat from his coming down from the day and the current mood, but there was an attempt at sarcasm despite it being entirely plausible for Emile to send someone to get them if not come himself.

With that he'd follow the last person inside. Admittedly he might have already left if not for the fact that they needed a momentary debrief of sorts. And with Mac out of commission and Will away he thought to check in with their partners. Not to mention he felt the need to fill Ashley in on what happened before the Angels arrived, as the woman seemed to have no memory of it.

Ashley-May lead the pack of wayward injured people towards the clinic. The walk was slow and at moments tedious; it had been a very long day, for some more than others, and she honestly just wanted to lay down but she continued on, keeping a steady enough pace that wouldn't ware too much of Eli. "We're good," She assured him despite feeling anxious about it all. It was eerily quiet within, she was used to ... noise from Liam. She couldn't explain it in truth, she had always had a sensation that he was there, she could feel what he felt and how he reacted to what she did, thought or felt and now it was just... silence.

At the Clinic she winced slightly seeing the Beast still hap hazardously left on the lawn; she'd have to move it before Mac woke up or it would be her head. Inside the main doors they were greeted by a confused and annoyed Ruth Before the older woman could speak she was handing over Eli to her. "He tore his stitches, for real this time. Thor healed them but he still has pain." There was a moment that she thought Ruth might just scold her regardless before the older nurse collected a wheelchair and brought it around the nursing station to Eli.

Ash turned to those behind her, "Morgan get Addy to that chair there," She pointed aside, "And sit with her," Just behind Addy was Chase. "And you, sir, go sit; I want to take a look at your bruises." Finally Tara arrived with Ginny in her arms, the Djinn still looked distraught and shocked. She knew little about healing Djinn; or even if she could but she figured she may as well treat her as she would a human. "Alright, let's get Ginny set up over there," She directed Tara to a gurney as she grabbed some pillows and a blanket from behind the nursing station. She brought them to Tara and Ginny. "Try and keep her warm and comfortable and I'll try and get her some blood to feed on soon."

As Gaveel assumed her position on the large rune she turned to face William, regarding him a moment; it was odd to be doing this a second time for the very same blood-line; she idly wondered if there would be a third incident where she would be providing one of his kin with Grace in the future. "Open the vial," She instructed. The angels surrounding William went to work, a low audible hum filled the room as each channeled their Grace into the painted sigils. They soon started to glow, the light traveling along the lines and circles headed for its center and William stood.

Tara gets Ginny sitting down, muttering softly as she takes off her coat, and puts it over her like a blanket. This is one of those times Tara is painfully aware of how young and inexperienced she is.. She wants to help, and she knows what others did for her after she was turned. That’s about all she has to work with here.

Ginny, meanwhile, is refusing to open her eyes, pulling her sleeves down over her arms as far as she can. Unfortunately, her human disguise requires an amount of focus she just does not have right now. At least she’s stopped crying, and the shakes are starting to subside a bit. She’s just so very scared of everyone at this point.

She pulls her knees up to her chest, trying to make herself as small as possible. Tara sighs. “Kiddo, look at me.” She says, her tone more firm now, putting her hand on Ginny’s shoulder. Slowly, light peeks through Ginny’s lashes, and she looks up at Tara nervously. “You can’t do this forever. They’re going to find out. So I need you to be strong right now. I promise, I won’t let them hurt you.” Ginny whimpers softly, but nods slowly, trying to breathe.

Elijah was thankful that Ruth didn't turn him away or better yet throw him out of the Clinic after his previous stunt covering for Ash. At the end of the day, the woman was a professional after all -- and compassionate, in her own way. As she pushed a wheelchair over to Eli, he nodded his thanks before turning to sit with a stifled grunt of pain. He took a moment to watch Ash at home and in her element, directing the "walking wounded" with an efficiency that if he didn't know better he would have assumed she had spent years working in the E.R. As Ruth began to take him away for examination, he smiled to Ash. "Take care of them first," he said, gesturing toward the others.

Adelaide followed Morgan's gentle urging toward the chair, taking a seat alongside her friend. She was beginning to regret not grabbing the woman's clothes when she shifted, though it had honestly been the last thing on her mind at the time. She turned to look at Ginny sympathetically, the young Djinn clearly in a state of shock. She deliberately avoided probing into her mind but what surface thoughts she could sense from this distance were unpleasant even as Tara did her best to calm her.

Will Hooded.jpg
William did as he was told, squaring his shoulders to Gaveel before taking hold of the cork at the top of the vial. The angels around him began a chant -- a low melody of sorts -- as he pulled at the stopper. To his surprise, the vial unsealed readily as if the Grace inside was eager for a new vessel. He was vaguely aware of the influx of light along the rune's painted lines which all converged toward him as the Grace billowed outward from the Vial, toward his face.

Everything went white... and black. Every color between the two seemed to flash before Will's eyes in a fraction of a second. Warmth filled his veins, his chest, every fiber of his being. It was a soft glow, the likes of which Liam had provided him when he healed him. Peaceful, serene -- grace. As his eyes shut and he stood still in the circle, every passing moment seeming to drag on for an eternity, his muscles relaxed to bask in the sensation.

It didn't last.

That warm glow intensified, growing hotter with every beat of his heart. Will's body tensed and a choked cry escaped from his lungs when his veins felt as if they had been set ablaze, heat and pressure welling up inside him so rapidly that in that instant he thought he might implode in a burst of light, never to be seen again. The Grace was spreading to every organ, every cell, every atom that was him, an unstoppable torrent of white-hot agony. His mind was gone, unable to perceive the world around him. Had he been aware, he would have known he was screaming -- a ragged, tormented sound as his body convulsed at the center of the circle but never buckled, held taut like a puppet on a string.

Then it was gone. The string was cut and his body crumpled to a heap in the center of the sigil. The humming had ceased and his breaths came in slow, shallow rasps. Slowly Will raised his head, his mind swimming. His mouth was agape as he looked around at the curious angels, halos faintly visible above their heads for the first time. He could not only see the angels, he could feel them. Their Grace was there, plain as day as if noting a person's color of shirt. That went for everything he saw as his wide eyes turned to take in his surroundings. Everything was sharp, crisper, in more detail, but not purely in sense of eyesight. William felt as if he could see through them, to what made each blade of grass or fleck of paint what it was.

It was like seeing, truly seeing, for the first time. His memories were still there, but he recalled them as one would remember a dream -- distant, detached, and ever so hazy.

Moving inside the building he was met with Ashley giving orders and when she got to Chase, he knew she meant well but he still huffed when being told to sit. When the blonde moved on to check with the Djinn and Vamp, Chase moved towards the seats the others were sat in but didn't sit. The ever so slight defiance in the fact that he didn't want to sit yet, not to mention he was still coming down from the Angels and Inari. The man crossed his arms over his currently bare chest, "How are you two feeling?" He asked Adelaide and Morgan. Adelaide had her bout with Solomon, and Morgan had been tossed by the Angel. Though as far as the landing was concerned he guessed it wasn't a harsh one since he'd broken her fall. Morgan had moved with him when Chase had made the first move, it was something he should have thought of but at the time he hadn't. Risking himself was one thing but risking her was a different story, and he'd been headed off leaving her to be thrown at them.

Morgan sat next to Addy where Ashley-May had directed her to sit; she wasn't sure exactly why she had obeyed Ash's command, most likely it had sounded authoritative, she looked over her friend quietly, content at least the bleeding as stopped at this point -she could no longer smell it beyond what was already congealing. She glanced to Chase as he asked if she was alright, she nodded then. "Yea, I'll be fine, just sore for a few days, you?" She knew she needed to go and collect her clothing, but wanted to make sure everyone would be alright before she set out.

3SijZSx.jpg

Ashley-May tucked a small pillow under Ginny's head and tucked the warm blanket around her, she glanced to Tara. "She's probably in shock, so keep her still and warm." She glanced to Sandy as she emerged out of the backroom after seeing Eli returned to his bed with Ruth. "Can you grab two bags of A positive from the back? Bring them out here and set them on the counter; we're over stocked on A plus right?" Sandy nodded, confirming Ash's suspicion and turned to the back to do as she was told.

Ash soon came back to the other three, Chase, who was still standing, received a glare from Ash but for the moment. Ash picked up a small first aid kit from the nursing station before coming to kneel in front of Addy; of the three she was the only one that could be in grave danger even though she was talking and walking not long ago. "How are you feeling Addy?" She asked quietly, slipping on a pair of sterile gloves before retrieving her flash light. She brought the light up and shone it over each of her eyes watching for her pupils to change. "You feeling nauseous at all? Any dizziness?"

Gaveel watched as the man - nephilim - recovered from the ritual. Already the other angels were returning to their previous tasks; they were still hard at work handling their project. While they had certainly sent Thor on the task to confront the First Sin, they didn't believe this would be the cure all but simply a stop gap of his ascension. They knew they would need someone, something, capable of taking on the First Sin toe to toe in the end. It would come to a battle and thus far they had none that could compete.... yet.

After a short time it looked as though Will was coming back to his sense's. "How does it feel?" She questioned, the curiosity getting the better of her; she wanted to know if he would respond with the same answer his father had.

Adelaide gave Chase a small smile. "I'm fine." Hearing Morgan's reply alongside her, she squeezed the woman's hand lightly -- her friend had incurred the injuries trying to protect them all in a fight she had no stake in. As Ashley-May approached to conduct her examination, Addy remained still and cooperated as best she could, eyes squinting involuntarily at the light's intrusion. She started to shake her head, but regretted it immediately as she felt the pain in her temple flare up. "No, no nausea. A little dizziness earlier, but the pain isn't quite as bad. I think I'm concussion-free, Doc," she said with a wink. Addy reached forward to take Ash's hand in hers. "What about you? How are you feeling after... everything?"

William Main.jpg
William was surprised by the genuine curiosity in Gaveel's tone. He imagined this was something she never had and never would have the chance to experience, regardless of the number of centuries under her belt. All the same, he wasn't sure exactly how to answer. He was silent for a moment, glancing down at his hand as he raised it, turning it this way and that, clenching and loosening his fingers. He wasn't sure what he expected -- there he was, looking the same as ever.

He knew it wasn't his body that had changed, but rather his perception of the world around him. Gaveel's presence had been striking before as a human in the cemetery, but that had been a superficial reaction to her based solely on her appearance and what subconscious reactions his mind forced on him at the presence of an angel. He realized just how limited his view had been; he was able to feel her Grace, a radiating warmth that touched at his own inside his chest as the stood there.

"I don't know," he began quietly. "It's like I'm seeing and feeling for the first time; it's like being reborn. I'm still me, but everything I took for granted is so much... more." Will frowned, knowing that he was babbling as he scrounged for words. "It was like I was seeing the world through two slits in a blindfold before and now that blindfold has been removed." Will turned to look at Gaveel thoughtfully. "That's the secret, isn't it? It's not about the Grace making me stronger or faster. It's how it opens up new doors."

Chase wasn't surprised by Morgan's answer and shrugged when asked about his own condition. "Probably the same, might have to hold off on shifting for a while." Whether the ribs were broken or just cracked he couldn't tell, the pain was similar when the shift occurred with any. Promptly noting the glare from Ashley as she headed their direction a few seats away from her previous patients. Eventually settling in front of Adelaide and checking on her, though the woman who was seated clearly more worried about the blonde herself.

"She's right Ash, you just went through some stuff that's hard to explain." He told her softly in concern, "Go to the back and find yourself an ultrasound machine." Chase didn't need to detail the reasons or why because it was rather clear why she should. "Your instinct is to put us ahead of yourself, but go check on Liam first. We're all going to live." He flashed her a smile in an attempt to ease her concern.

Tara nods, watching as Ginny slowly relaxes, letting out a long breath. “There you go.” The vampire murmurs. She watches as the djinn’s eyes lose their flames, returning to their human appearance. “Thank you.” Ginny whispers to Ashley May, glancing up at her nervously.

Tara looks up at the mention of blood, her pupils dilating slightly, before she growls in frustration, taking a long pull of her blunt. It doesn’t actually do anything about the craving, but at least she won’t smell it. That tends to be what triggers the worst of it.

Ginny looks around at the others, nervous about what they think of her now. She’s put so much effort into convincing people that she’s human, but now Solomon, Morgan, Chase, and potentially Sandy know. And that’s including all the people that knew before. Maybe Tara is right. Maybe it’s time she stops hiding. But not yet.

Morgan was content to see Ash started to look after Adelaide; relieved that her friends seemed alright, well enough that Ash didn't look worried at the immediate sight of her. She stood from her seat and patted Addy on the shoulder. "I'll be back, going to grab my clothes." She was painfully aware of Chase standing in the middle of the pristine clinic sans shirt. She gave the other wolf a quick nod before heading towards the door.

3SijZSx.jpg

Ashley-May nodded as Adelaide noted how she felt; it wasn't likely she was in any danger but Ash needed to do this, to do something to occupy herself while Will was off doing ... something, that would result in getting Mac back. If she wasn't busy tending to her friends injuries she would be left to pace and worry, her mind wandering. How long would it take for him to come back? How is Mac going to react to Will now having a Grace and was it the right thing to do? "Good." She said quietly, putting away the light and moving to sit where Morgan had been just a minute before, gloved hands pulling back Addy's hair to examine her scalp and where she could already see dried blood.

She glanced to Chase standing beside her telling her to go find an ultrasound and check on Liam. "I'm... we're fine," She said calmly before pointedly looking at the chair beside Addy. "I'm not going anywhere until you're both looked after so the faster you listen and obey the soon I get to check on Liam, alright?"

S34NpV7.jpg

Gaveel listened with interest as William explained to the best of his ability what it was to have a Grace returned to him. She wondered idly if it would be different if he had recovered his Grace but that was certainly not an option in this case. She nodded slowly as he came to terms with the knowledge. "For you, that is the case, and I suppose any Angel that lost its Grace and had it returned. The same couldn't be said for a demon, for example, fueling themselves with a Grace or even Thor." She watched him a moment longer before turning back to the room they had been in, exiting with the expectation that he would follow. Mackenzie was still laying on the cot, un-moving and entirely unaware of any changes have gone on around her.

Gaveel paused at the long table closest to where the Prophet lay, on the table were several documents, written in the old tongue depicting what needed to be done to bind souls. This hadn't been done in centuries; no angel had preformed it previously -successfully, let alone a Nephilim, but that was not the point. If they set the Prophet out without a Guardian she was as good as dead regardless.

Adelaide smiled, nodding at Morgan as she departed. "Be careful," she called after the young woman. She wasn't surprised that her assurance to Ashley-May was promptly ignored as the woman took the now-empty seat alongside her, continuing the examination. Addy winced only slightly as her hair was pulled aside, exposing the small gash to the sting of fresh air. With slight sigh, she relented. "Do what you have to, hon," she said. Adelaide gave Chase a sideways glance, "You'd better take a seat before she hits you with a tranquilizer," she teased.

william-main-jpg.375819

William followed Gaveel without hesitation, the angel leading him back to the observation room where Mackenzie was still visible beyond the glass wall. He looked down a the table where Gaveel pored over a series of scrolls and tomes. Will began to turn away, knowing he couldn't possibly decipher the Enochian text... or could he? Glancing at the characters, he squinted as vague comprehension began to dawn on him. Not enough to read it all in full -- the text was "dense" to say the least -- but he understood the gist of what the documents were detailing.

Will looked up at Gaveel. "Now you bind our souls together?" he asked.

Morgan quickly sought to leave and grab her own clothes and he wondered if she'd done it to escape Ashley's inspection. Chase let out a defeated quiet sigh as Ashley stayed defiant and Adelaide pushed him to accept her terms, "And people say I'm stubborn." With a clearly unhappy body language he finally took a seat next to Ashley so that his right side would be facing her. When prompted he'd raise his arm up to shoulder level with breath hitching slightly, he dared not go higher knowing full well he'd regret it. His side was exposed enough for her to have her look, and he grit his teeth awaiting the inevitable prodding fingers against the tender area. "Some are cracked or broken, feel free to figure out which."

Jordan continued laying in the graveyard and staring at the sky, he let out a steadying breath as he stared at the stars in the night sky. The feeling of a cool breeze brushed over him as the warmth of the sun playfully beat down on his ski- Jordan's eyes shot open and looked at the stars once again, he hadn't realized that he had closed his eyes and started to nod off, but he did not like what was there when he did. He didn't know if it was the severe damage done to his head, but he definitely didn't expect to start reminiscing about his past. Jordan furrowed his brow at the stars and the heavens above in an attempt to stay awake. He didn't want to remember, it wasn't a painful memory but it wasn't something he wanted to remember.

He could feel the blades of grass licking at his skin as he laid amongst them, the calmness of the day seemed to overtake the young Kitsune as the inklings of a peaceful smile toyed with the corners of his mouth. Nine white tails flowed from him and each had seemingly found their own place to sprawl out and lounge on the cool grass along with him. The calm was so infecting that he didn't notice that someone was slowly making their way through his maze of tails and stopped at his head. Slowly a hand reached down, a silent mission baring down on the calmed Kitsune. He shot his eyes open just as the fingertips made their way to the middle of his forehead, and then playfully tangled about in his silver hair. He let the had mull about in his hair for a bit before turning his gaze to the source of the hand.

A woman of beauty that the Kitsune could never begin to put into words stared back at him, her eyes held experience that matched if not exceeded his own, the makeup around the corners of her eyes gave her a snake like appearance. She wore robes that were almost scale like and shone with a deep sea blue and her hair as black as the void in which the Kitsune had once been born into and where he had lived for so long. "女娲," he stretched as her name left his lips, "How did you-"

"Find you? Were you trying to hide from me?" the Goddess taunted him.

"Of course not I-" he frowned a bit as the woman gave a teasing laugh before kneeling down beside his head and continuing to run her fingers through his hair.

"I know, you are a being who enjoys not being held down though, you tend to leave without notifying anyone because that's just who you are. I wonder, is that who you will remain?" She seemed to be expecting an answer but only got a narrowing of eyes from the young fox as he seemed to be quite wary of his playful companion cutting him off again. Nuwa gave an amused grin before giving a wave of her free hand to signify that she wouldn't interrupt him.

"I...don't know, truly. The brother I felt most comfortable with, perhaps because he was my brother before, is in a different land, he and I seemed to have the same idea when it came to getting out from under what we were supposed to be...No doubt he will have made enough offspring to begin a new life...he always did believe that strength in numbers could offset many a challenge. I don't believe I'm ready for that, that kind of responsibility doesn't suit me..."

"Of course you aren't," Nuwa leaned down and placed a kiss in the middle of the fox's forehead before continuing, "Neither is your brother, or MY brother for that matter. None of us are ever truly ready for the responsibility of another's life until it is upon us. Though I believe that you'll be quite the leader in your own way...the question is, how will you treat those you turn?"

"I would give them the same freedom that I myself constantly seek, allowing them to serve me in their own ways."

"And how would you tell them to deal with the humans they will no doubt encounter?"

"That...isn't an easy one, I would tell them to use their judgement in all things concerning humans...Be as formless as water and as strong as iron. I would tell them that they are to be protected and watched over, but that they never let their arrogance get out of control."

Nuwa's gentle smile grew in size as she placed her forehead against the fox's, "And what shall you do if any would choose to harm your people, in a way that far exceeds anything that might have been deserved?"

"I would let nothing stand between me and their impending deaths. The world would tremble at the destruction I would unleash upon them to avenge my people."

"Then, if you would like my true opinion? You are more than ready, even if you yourself don't believe it." Nuwa spoke in a quiet manner as she and the fox slowly closed their eyes and enjoyed their peaceful moment together, "My beloved K-"

"Inari-san," Jordan woke with a start as he looked up at Himiko, he stared at his most loyal follower for a moment, trying to process where he was, one moment Nuwa was about to say his name and the next Himiko was saying the name he had given himself, "Do you require assistance?"

Jordan slowly sat up and shook his head free of the lingering memory and looked back at Himiko, "No, I am fine...just...remembering." Jordan ruffled his hand through his hair, dreads-black. Good, that meant he was still in control of himself. Jordan reached his hand out and placed it on Himiko's head in a loving manner, as a parent would do to their child. "Thank you for your concern," he stood up without a hint of hesitation and smoothed his hair out of his face. "Let's find Da Ji, we have better things to do than fall victim to our memories do we not~"

Once Morgan was out in the night air she felt a little more comfortable after everything being indoors was making her tense; she needed to be out in the night where she could think. Content that Abby was in good hands her started to jog back to where she had shifted and ditched her clothing.

Ashley-May rolled her eyes at Chase finally took the seat Morgan had vacated; it was not lost on her how quickly the young female wolf had exited the Clinic and she made a mental note to corner her upon returning. She dug around in her medical kit until she found some antiseptic wipes and returned her attention to Adelaide's scalp. She gently wiped around the wound to try and assess just how deep she had been cut -clotting was a good sign, but if could still be deep enough that I could require a stitch or two to heal quickly. She ran the wipe across the would gently, inspecting. "Don't look too bad." She said quietly. She set the wipe aside and retrieved some gauze, placing it against the oozing cut. "Hold this." She brought Addy's hand to her head. "I don't think you need stitches but I'll apply some glue on it so you can wash the blood out of your hair without worry."

She peeled off the gloves, discarding them with the bloodied wipe before turning her attention to Chase. The man couldn't be described as anything but pouting as he raised his arm exposing his quickly bruising rips. She slowly shook her head but moved in, drawing her finger tips along his side poking and prodding; doing exactly what he wanted to her to do: finding the broken ones. Only two, thankfully, and she made certain to give an extra jab for good measure before stepping away to the nursing station. "I get you're a wolf and you'll heal quickly." She said over her shoulder to the man. "But that doesn't mean it won't be days from now and you'll be in pain."

She found the few items of what she was looking for before coming back to her broken friends. "So, I'm going to give you these." She shook a small medical bottle of sample pain killers at the man. "From what I've researched wolves have a higher tolerance to the effects of medicine and alcohol than humans, right? So these are the strongest I can give you -safely. Take one before bed on a full stomach and one thirty minutes before you plan on doing any strenuous activities...." She paused and smirked slightly. "And I'd advise holding off any... rough love making you have planned for the time being." She gave the man a playful wink.

S34NpV7.jpg

Gaveel nodded at William's assessment; noting that he was able to read and decipher some of text, it would be worth documenting for later consideration. "Yes, but prior to that we need to involve the Prophet's Soul. Her body remains in Vitae, on Earth, but her Soul is here and corporeal for the moment; humans are not well designed for astral projection." She turned her attention towards the cell behind the glass wall and the small human behind it. "This way." She lead Will closer. The wall was not solid, only resembling a solid piece of material until Gaveel came closer and it moved like water rippling on the surface of a lake. She stopped towards one end of the cell, reaching a hand out and into the fluid substance. It melted away, falling from the 'ceiling' like droplets of water cascading around the cell and projected image in the center of the room.

Mackenzie rolled from the cot as the first bit of her reality started to melt away, she watched cautiously as the world started to disappear and she started to feel... something from the other side of the illusion wall. She held still but ready, feet spread, hands in fists ready for anything but what she saw was something else. They were gods? She could feel them, sense them now that the walls were gone and the world had changed. Dozens of them standing in a purely white room, there was two close by: one female the other ... Will. She narrowed her eyes at him, annoyed and angry at the seen. The female stepped forward, speaking . "My name is Gaveel -"

"Angels," Mackenzie growled, she recognized the name from someone's journal; specifically in writing about Nephilim hunting and slaying. Her eyes never left Will's, seething. "You used his face." She hissed lowly, stance shifting so she could edge closer. "I know you're not him I can feel you angel, and if you knew anything about me you know what happens next when I'm let out of the cage: Monsters start to die."

Elijah gritted his teeth as Ruth continued her examination of his sutures -- or at least, what was left of them. By the look of her pursed lips and something between a clinical gaze and an outright glare, she was still less than pleased with him. He wasn't sure whether the source of her anger was his charade earlier to cover for Ashley-May or the fact that he had managed to open his wound... again. All things considered, he knew there was a not-insignificant chance that it was both.

Ruth stepped back, peeling the nitrile gloves from her hands as she made sure the intravenous line she had administered was flowing as intended. "You'll have to wait for Doctor Camden to--" she paused, frowning, sniffing the air as a very... distinctive smell wafted into the room. Recognition marked her features, followed by a flash of anger that made a chill run down Eli's spine. "One moment, Mister Davenport," she said in a deceptively silky smooth tone that was cold as ice.

Adelaide sat patiently as Ashley-May continued her examination, ignoring the slight stinging pain that welled up. As Ash directed her to hold the gauze in place, she complied immediately with a smile. "Thanks," she said before glancing at the door, waiting for Morgan to return. She turned aside to watch Ash tending to Chase, chuckling at her rather risque comment. "What a shame," she said with a wink at the two.

"I hardly think that's appropriate talk for the Clinic, Miss Branston," a chiding voice rang out from the corridor. Addy turned to see Nurse Ruth standing there with a clearly disapproving glare, hands on her hips. "I'm sure the gentleman will keep his 'urges' in check." Her head swiveled to settle on the dark-haired woman sitting nearby smoking, of all things. "I wish I could say the same for everyone present," Ruth remarked sharply. "Miss, I don't know who you are but you may have noticed a sign when you came in. There is to be no smoking -- tobacco or... otherwise -- inside these walls on my watch. Are we understood?"

William followed Gaveel into the room, eyes fixed on Mackenzie. Part of him wanted nothing more than to rush forward and embrace his fiancee, but he resisted knowing that she was likely disoriented and on edge. What she said to him -- the piercing glare she leveled in his direction -- was like a knife in his chest. Still, in a strange way it was refreshing to hear: this was Mac, as he knew her. She was intact in all the ways that mattered. Whatever his ascension had done to modify his memories, his love for her burned as bright as ever, unmarred by the change.

William spoke slowly, not moving toward Mackenzie lest she lash out despite his urge to do just that. "Mac, it's me. You're not in any danger; we're in Eden." Will bit his lip, hand rising to rest against his chest. "You can feel my Grace because they gave it to me... I'm a Nephilim again." Will paused, considering how to defuse the situation, to convince Mac that he was who he said. "Anything I say could be a lie, it's true. Angels can manipulate memories, make illusions. But I'm not one of them."

Will smiled, slowly. "I told you I loved you and that I'd do anything for you... and I meant it. That's why I gave you that ring," he said, gesturing toward her hand. "That's why I made a deal to get my Grace back: to protect you and Ash and Liam."

He paused. "We shared a dream once, because of Hypnos. After all the pain we saw, we both woke up stronger for it. After New York, you sang to me -- you saved me. You trusted me when you gave me your journal... now I need you to trust me again. It's time to wake up, love." Slowly, Will extended his hand toward her, palm outstretched in offering.

The Abyss, the name seemed to suit it perfectly. For what he had just entered had the god at a loss for words. It was a dead world made up of dark rocks and mountains, crude structures of stone scattered across the landscape in what seemed like a parody of ruins of an ancient culture, toxic fumes and green fire sprouted from cracks and crevices in the ground, and the dark sky was constantly being lit up by green flashes of lightning. Everything, even the air, just felt... Wrong. As if there was something fundamentally twisted, in everything from the smallest pebble to the very sky itself, something that the deity just couldn't place. It was tempting to liken it to Hell, but whereas Hell was Hell, a prison of fire and torment, everything there was the way it seemed. There was something far more unsettling about this place, and Thor wasn't sure even he could fully rely on his own senses, mighty as he was. All the while he felt like he was being watched, as if this plane of existence was a beast he had awoken, that wanted nothing more than to spit him out or tear him apart.

He was a lone star of bright light, surrounded by a sea of darkness. Yet Thor had a task, and he would see it completed. He could feel the presence of dark things, things the likes of which he had never felt before, equally twisted as everything else and filled with mindless malice, yet they fled before his immense power. All but one, he briefly felt the presence of something so dark and powerful he flinched, a mind with an indomitable iron will that seemed to be tortured to the point were whatever it had once was couldn't be recognised anymore. It was hard to make out more, for the mind was shielded by mental walls of iron. Thor knew what it was, there was only one thing it could be. The First Sin...

Thor was in his true form now, a large man with long blond hair and a formidable beard, his wings tucked away beneath a giant fur cloak. He was dressed in silvery armor that, like his skin, seemed to glow, emanating light as if there was a star right beneath it. It was a terrifying form to most dark things, but he highly doubted that the First Sin would be intimidated in the least.

He looked around where he stood, he seemed to be standing on a pyramid of some sorts, it wasn't especially high, but wide. Built with stones so dark they seemed to swallow all light, there was a high arch from which he had emerged. The door out having seemingly closed behind him, but Thor knew it was a ruse, Heaven and his kin were both watching him. The platform was surrounded by tall pillars of iron with cruel jagged spikes shooting out from every side of them.

His examination was abruptly interrupted as he felt the presence nearing like night decending upon him. Something that looked like pitch-black smoke struck the stone a hundred feet in front of him with such force that it sent dust and shockwaves in every direction. The smoke slowly assumed solid form and what first looked like a skeletal creature and then a man (or rather something that had once been a man) emerged from the dark cloud of smoke and dust that surrounded the small crater caused by the impact.. He was dark-skinned with hair darker than the empty void that was space, cruel eyes that shone with malice rested in their sockets. His cheekbones were high, and he wore the shadows around him like a cloak.

The First Sin's lips curled in what could have been seen as a smile, but to Thor it only looked like a predator baring it's fangs. "How is it that you are here angel? When I have been unable to leave for eons? And what brings you to my humble abode?". A sense of immeasurable physical agony ran beneath everything it said. Thor curtly replied "I'm no angel, and I've come for you." whilst examining his opponent, there was something familiar about him that Thor just couldn't place. "What are you?" the god asked. The First Sin laughed, it was a cold, sharp laugh without the slightest hint of warmth that sounded like two blades colliding. "So you are telling me that you sought me out without knowing what I am? How very... Foolish..." the last words almost a hiss.

The creature's eyes opened and a satisfied smile appeared on his lips, only now did Thor realise that in his distraction he had done something he hadn't done in centuries, slightly lowered his mental defenses, and the First Sin had managed to seep in through the cracks and gain access to some of his knowledge. Thor pushed him out with such force that the creature staggered where he stood. "Stay out of my head." the god snarled. The First Sin smiled again, this time it was more convincing, yet Thor knew it was poisonous all the same. The creature raised his arms in a welcoming gesture "It would seem we are more alike than you think, we have both fallen from grace and suffered at the hands of the Fallen One, Lucifer." He spat out the last words like they were poison, but when he continued they were considerably gentler. "You see... Thor, once upon a time I was the crowning achievement of God, I was the first of my kind, the first human."

The Thundergod interrupted him "Adam!", that was why he had seemed familiar, Thor had never had any interactions with him, but he had studied him from afar in curiosity eons ago. The First Sin nodded "Yes, that was my name once upon a time, and you know the story. I was cast out alongside Eve for what? For eating a fruit after being tricked by Lucifer, an eternity of torment for a fruit, does that seem like justice to you? I have no quarrel with you Thor, join me and we can exact our vengeance upon Lucifer, together we could even bring your father and brother back."

The lightning intensified as Thor frowned and spoke in a condescending tone "If you truly believe that I would betray everyone and work together with you... You are a fool without equal.". The smile vanished from Adam's lips, he now looked as if he was contemplating his next move. The entirety of the immense, implacable will and power that was the First Sin's was focused on the deity, yet Thor stood unafraid and unshaken. The deity continued "You are a creature of evil and darkness, driven only by primal hatred and malice. My only purpose here is to end you."

As they both grew angrier, the winds and lightning now seriously began to increase, and the earth began to tremble slightly. Adam looked merely slightly disappointed, yet his eyes betrayed him, he was furious "So be it, I shall break you, then I shall destroy you. Nothing of you will remain to reach an afterlife.". But before he could do anything further, Thor had swept out Mjölnir and attacked him. There began a titanic, nightmarish struggle. The earth began shaking furiously, the sky practically split open, winds with the force of a hurricane raged and the very air itself seemed to scream.

The two entities were wreaking havoc on their surroundings as they blasted eachother with magical attacks, with the power released as a result of them causing the most of it. Thor launched a mighty lightning attack, sending a bolt from his hand, but Adam simply put up a hand and deflected it, causing it to fly off to the left and blast a pillar off the pyramid. "MY TURN!" the First Sin roared over the wind. Thor could feel power gathering about him like an abominable shadow, knowing what was coming and raised a shield of brilliant light. The blow struck the shield like a hammer and nearly shattered it, Thor groaned due to the strain of blocking all that power, but then took it down now to deliver a strike of his own.

He raised his arm and pointed it at the First Sin, his body began to glow to a blueish light, growing more intense and bright by the second as Thor prepared to unleash the full force of his power upon his foe in the hopes of smiting him into Oblivion, tapping into both his divine and angelic powers. His features were now barely distinguishable and his hand was illuminated with such a bright light that it appeared like a burning sun of white holy light, and he felt a burning sensation is his entire body, as if there was a flood of energy that needed to be released. There was a surge of power that shot out from his body and into his arm and a beam of light shot from his hand, striking the First Sin with full force. The heat from the beam caused the stone to light up and glow as it melted. Die... Just die... the deity thought, the First Sin seemed engulfed by light was being burnt by it, the deity just hoped it would be enough to burn him away into nothingness. Yet as he lowered his hand, he found the First Sin very much alive, albeit crouched and damaged.

Adam growled as his charred face began to heal, and then something happened that caught Thor completely off-guard. The First Sin moved his hand quicker than a bullet, and something struck Thor in his thigh. The deity fell down on a knee and looked at his leg, having pierced it was something that looked like a stake of shadows, he pulled it out and it dissolved. But a distraction was all the First Sin wanted, Thor looked up just in time to catch the First Sin's arm by the wrist as he was about to drive what looked like a dagger of shadows into Thor's heart, and the deity had no doubt it had the power to kill him or at least seriously injure him.

The First Sin's was distorted by rage, and Thor placed another hand beneath the one that held the dagger away to support it, groaning. The sheer force that Thor had to exert to hold it away caused the stone to crack beneath his knee, and the First Sin placed his other hand on the pommel of the dagger, grimacing due to the immense effort. The dagger was slowly nearing Thor's heart. In a span of a few seconds, Thor saw eons pass by, he remembered the Universe taking shape, he remembered first assuming physical form and setting a foot on a planet, he remembered the masses revering him and their love nourishing him and making him greater, he remembered the slow fall from grace and all the pain...

Thor quickly snapped out of it, he still had a task to complete, using more strength than he even knew he possessed, he began twisting the wrist away from him, turning the dagger towards the First Sin. Adam's eyes, up until now confident and victorious, turned dead serious. Thor slowly got up to his feet, forcing the First Sin back, deciding it was time to take the initiative, Thor let go of the dagger and darted aside, it narrowly missing him. The Thundergod then proceeded to summon Mjölnir to him in the blink of an eye, and launched a furious flurry of attacks at his foe.

But the intense battle raging was nothing compared to the one between their minds, as both side sought to subdue the other, one mistake could mean loss. As of now they were of quite equal strength, with the First Sin being slightly stronger. But whilst Thor had experience on his side, the battle was slowly wearing him out. The First Sin tried to get a hold of his thoughts and split his mind in half, fighting on multiple fronts like a hydra, whereas Thor wielded his mind like a mighty fist, hammering away at Adam's mind whilst deflecting his attacks, hoping to beat him into submission.

Trying to strike the First Sin was like trying to stab a fly with a needle, Thor swung his hammer so fast it only appeared as a blur, yet the Adam kept dodging and parrying it with lightning speed, delivering small but precisde cuts with his blade was they fought. Deciding it wasnt working, Thor slammed his hammer into the ground instead, sending a shockwave of lightning at his foe, knocking him back. The deity wasted no time and threw himself at his foe, mercilessly striking him with Mjölnir over and over again, dealing obvious damage, yet with a gesture of the First Sin's hand, Thor was thrown back dozens of feet.

Then something strange happened that Thor hadn't anticipated, both launched energy attacks simultaneously, Adam's green beam struck Thor's blue and they stopped eachother mid-air. Where they met there was a white light, the collosion sent rippling waves of heat and dust in every direction and Thor noticed how the white light began to implode... Too late he realised what was going on, the immense amount of energy, the heat in particular, was creating chemophysical conditions naturally occuring when a star goes supernova.

There was a bright light, a burning sensation all over his body, and then... Nothing. Oddly he didn't hear anything, but with his exceptional healing ability, he quickly came to his senses. He was lying in a ruined wasteland, even when compared to what it had been before. There was no sign of the massive Pyramid that they had fought on, instead there was only a massive glowing crater, as deep and as wide as a deep valley surrounded by mountains, as if he was inside a massive active volcano. Using his power he muttered "Andardráttur vetrarins verður að kólna þetta.", causing a pulse of frost to erupt from where his feet stood, cooling down the stone as it went. When the annoying heat was gone, he scanned the surroundings for the First Sin.

He didn't have to look long however, for with a loud cracking sound, the stone all around him seemingly fell down into nothingness, leaving deep rifts with that ghastly green flames sprouting out from them. Thor then spotted his adversary, Adam looked far better than Thor did. Unlike Thor, his power seemed almost inexhaustible, whereas Thor was beginning to tire. His features distorted by the flames, Thor saw the First Sin raise his arms, and stone began falling into nothingness all around him, the platform Thor standing on growing ever smaller. The psychic attacks had been intensified to the point that Thor was entirely on the defensive, and was blocked from being able to teleport. He knew he had to act fast, should he fall into those flames he would likely die.

The crater was rather deep, and the Thundergod hatched an idea in a matter of seconds. Creating large amount of matter was beyond him at this point, but transmuting already existing wasn't. Raising his arms, he used his power to command the atoms in massive chunks of rock (in this case large sections of the crater walls) to rearrange themselves to water. With a loud cracking and then rushing sound, causing the First Sin to turn around in suprise, a tidal wave of water a thousand feet high came crashing down upon Thor and the First Sin, Adam being caught unaware was swept along with it, but Thor using his wings shot up into the air, reaching just above the surface of the water as it passed where he had stood. Still in the air, his massive wings causing ripples on the surface of the water, he pointed his arm at it and a pulse of frost erupted from it, causing the water to freeze over.. Swiftly the massive crater into an icy lake, or more like a solid block of ice.

He landed on the ice, that was glowing ominously with a ghastly green light from the flames below, he had been right in his guess that they couldn't be extingiushed. The ice stretched far in every direction and there was no sign of the First Sin, the psychic attacks had abated. Even the lightning and the winds had calmed down now, and it was eerily quiet. Thor looked beneath him, was it just him or was the green light growing even brighter here? It was.

The deity teleported himself out of the way right as a geyser of green flames shot out from where he had stood, more fires erupting all around him. A shadow shot out from one of the holes and materialised for the second time. It was Adam, and he looked ready to finish this fight, his features twisted with malicious determination. Before Thor had time to defend himself, he had been blasted with a ball of purple flames, knocking him down into the ice. Retaliating, Thor began blasting his foe with a stream of lightning, that only hurt Adam the first few seconds before he raised a shield of shadows in front of him, with the lightning being deflected by the shield, he began moving closer to Thor as he fought against the force that the lightning was pushing him back with.

Just as he had gotten up on his feet, the First Sin was on him, Thor struck him with a devastating right hook, but the First Sin shrugged it off and headbutten Thor before striking him right in his chest and finishing with an uppercut. Thor spun around and struck his foe with an elbow, before grabbing his throat and slamming him into the ice so hard that massive cracks spread in every direction. Thor dived with a punch, but found it being halted by an unmovable object that was the First Sin's palm. Adam's hand closed over Thor's fist with crushing pressure, and with a swift movement he pushed Thor aside and gained the top position, striking the god several times before hauling him up into the air, holding him by the throat and his arm.

The First Sin lashed out with his power, and Thor felt the shock of it go through him, a malevolent pulse of cold darkness. The deity felt as if he was being choked, Adam's mind wrapped around his and began crushing him. Adam's hand that gripped his throat began to burn with black flames, causing Thor's very being to scream in agony, his physical form emanated bright white light and Thor fought desperately to resist the First Sin's power. It was far weaker than at first, but it was still too much, he was getting exhausted faster than the First Sin and he felt himself fading. What had once been a mighty star was now a small candle of light surrounded by darkness that was about to extinguish him.

Then a bolt of light struck the First Sin and Thor saw the colours of the rainbow as he fell unconcious...

Tara looks up, surprisingly intimidated by the voice she hears. Seriously, no human should be that intimidating unless they’re a hunter, and this woman obviously isn’t. Tara winces a bit, and hurriedly puts out the embers, stopping the smoke. “R-right, sorry.” She says, ducking her head. “It’s just I gotta stay with the kid, and the smell…” She shudders a bit. “Won’t happen again.”

Ginny manages a small smile. Seeing the normally sarcastic and blunt vampire get put in her place like that by the nurse is pretty funny, and in any other circumstance, she’d be holding back laughter. Not that she doesn’t understand, Nurse Ruth is pretty terrifying.

Shouts of alarm intermingled with the sound of gunfire and screams of pain, reverberating down the cramped corridors of the structure -- part repository, part bunker. Gil's heart pounded as he sprinted down the hallway, the footfalls of his loafers clattering against the concrete floor along with those of Olivia only a few steps behind. The sounds of slaughter -- the death of their comrades who bought them a precious few seconds with their lives -- followed them down the corridor. Finally they reached their destination: the safe room and the vault it contained. Gil scrambled through the door alongside Olivia, the latter hastily turning around to slam the massive door shut with a resounding thud.

Olivia latched the door shut. It was several centimeters thick, mounted on reinforced steel hinges and plated in consecrated wrought iron along with pure silver. It was adorned in Devil's Traps and Enochian warding sigils -- impenetrable by demon, angel, or monster. Gil breathed deeply, his lungs on fire as he ejected the spent magazine from his pistol, hastily pulling another from his belt. "What the hell was that thing?" he asked breathlessly.

Olivia shook her head, stepping past him toward the computer console at the back of the room, activating the system whose monitors slowly flickered to life. "I don't know. Salt, iron, silver -- none of it even slowed it down. And it moves so fast... how did it even get inside?"

Gil grimaced, "Whatever it is, it's after the vault. We need reinforcements from London." Olivia nodded, establishing a live but encrypted video feed to the Men of Letters Chapterhouse. "Miss Danforth. What's going on, we lost cont--" a voice droned evenly through the speakers.

Olivia cut them off. "We're under attack. Something's here, it's already gone through most of the garrison. It's coming for the vault as we speak. We need--"

The sound of fists pounding at the door caused Olivia to spin around with a gasp, eyes fixed on the barrier. Gil stood several feet away, clutching his pistol tightly. Olivia turned back to the computer, transitioning to the surveillance camera feed showing the outside of the door. "My God," she murmured. "It's James."

Their friend and comrade pounded at the door. "Please let me in!" he cried, his voice now audible over the camera's microphone. "It's coming! Don't leave me out here!" Gil stepped toward the door, reaching for the latch when Olivia spoke up. "Gil! Stop!"

Gil whirled around to face her, slowly leaving the door to approach the monitor, watching as a humanoid figure appeared at the end of the corridor over the camera feed. In the blink of an eye, the form flitted from view and appeared behind James. The man turned with a cry of surprise, lashing out with the knife in his hand. The creature caught hold of his wrist with contemptuous ease and the sound of bones cracking under pressure was soon audible, accompanied by yells of pain. The assailant lifted his free hand, thrusting it forward with blinding speed. Gil barely resisted the urge to turn away as the fist punched through James's ribcage and exited his back, a spray of blood partially obscuring the camera's lens as the man's lifeless body was allowed to hit the ground.

The creature glared up at the camera, cocking his head and allowing his mouth to curve into the slightest hint of a smile. His eyes flashed yellow with a distinct flare effect, the skin of his chest and neck becoming illuminated with an orange glow as his mouth opened inhumanly wide to release a torrent of flame. The camera feed went blank. Olivia and Gil turned to stare at each other, fear visible in their eyes as the latter swallowed deeply. Moments later the sound of fists pounding at the door resumed -- but these blows were far more powerful. The barrier shook violently against its hinges, steel and iron creaking and groaning as dents formed against all odds. Gil's ears rang with the sound of each impact as he pointed his pistol at the door, heart thundering in his chest.

The sound stopped. Gil and Olivia stared at the door for what seemed like forever, hoping against hope that the creature had given up, that it couldn't bypass the door. Those hopes were dashed as a faint sizzling sound became audible, the dark gray metallic sheen of the door slowly turning red -- then orange, then yellow. Finally it took on a brilliant white-blue shade that Gil knew should have required nigh-impossible amounts of heat. The metal popped and bubbled, the oppressive furnace buffeting him even from across the room. A hand appeared, unfazed by the molten metal, punching through the softened steel to fold it aside before tearing out a gouge. The figure stepped through the entrance, his yellow, reptilian eyes flashing back to a more human but no less piercing blue.

Desmond.jpg
Had Gil not known better, the creature could have passed for a businessman. His suit and overcoat were marred by bullet holes and singed with soot, but the man straightened his tie all the same. His fingers ended in dark black nails more akin to talons. "Who are you? What do you want?" Gil demanded.

The creature glared at Gil and Olivia in turn before glancing at the wall on the side of the room dominated by a large vault door. "Greetings. You may call me Desmond. The one who opens that vault for me gets to leave here alive," he remarked in a deep baritone. Gil said nothing, raising the handgun to fire at the man. Desmond sighed as the shots rang out in the confined space, the wrought iron bullets penetrating his human skin before flattening against the scales beneath. He moved with inhuman speed, appearing at Gil's side and tearing the pistol from his hands. Desmond's hand glowed with orange heat and soon so did the frame of the firearm in his hands, crumpling in on itself before melting to slag that ran between his fingers and dripped to the floor.

Gil, his face grimly set, pivoted at the hip to throw a right hook at Desmond. The creature caught his arm, tearing it from its socket in one fluid motion. Gil's scream of pain was cut off abruptly as Desmond reached up to take hold of his neck and twist it nearly 180 degrees, allowing the man's corpse to fall to the ground with a thud. Brushing his hands off, Desmond turned to look at Olivia. "Let me be clear. I don't need you to open that vault. I'm giving you a chance to survive. Your friend chose to reject it: be wiser than he was."

Olivia, breathed in shallow, shuddering gasps as she looked down at Gil's body before slowly nodding. She slowly walked over to the vault door. The droning voice from the computer spoke up again, "Miss Danforth! Don't do that. You are a Man of Lett--" the sound was cut off as Des turned to smash the computer with a hammering blow of his fist before glancing back at the woman. "Please, do continue."

Olivia reached into her jacket, removing a silver disc from the pocket -- emblazoned with Enochian runes -- and inserted it into a slot in the door before quietly speaking the accompanying incantation. The vault door slowly creaked to life, spinning outward against its housing before sliding open to reveal the interior. Desmond walked forward, Olivia all but forgotten as he glanced at the shelves full of ancient tomes and artifacts from dozens of different cultures. Supernatural relics from the world over adorned the cramped space. Des paused at a crate in the center, adorned with stenciled, Medieval-era images of a dragon. He ran his hand along its surface before heaving it open. Inside were two slots fit for holding swords. One held a sheathed bastard sword, its grip familiar to Desmond as he reached out to hold it for the first time in centuries: Legion's Loss. It had come to exist following a skirmish in the fields of what would one day become the Holy Roman Empire -- half-a-dozen angels slain by he and his kin following a battle that ravaged the land for leagues in all directions. He had gathered up their fallen angel blades, melting them down with his fire and using the celestial metal to forge a blade of his own -- the same sword he had put through his own torso to appease his mother.

But not the sword he was looking for. The other slot was empty.

He whirled around with a glare to see Olivia making her way to the door. Desmond dashed forward, blocking off her escape and wrapping his hand around her throat as he lifted her into the air, his sharp nails drawing rivulets of blood from her flesh as they dug in. "Where is it?!" he demanded, his voice taking on a guttural aspect that seemed to shake the room.

Olivia impotently scraped and pulled at the vice-like grip. Des released his grip enough to allow her to choke out a reply. "What? I don't--"

"The Sword of St. George, quenched in my blood, the one you curs use to kill my kin!" he said, his eyes once again flashing yellow.

Understanding dawned on Olivia's face. "You-- you're one of Eve's dragons..." she hissed between gritted teeth. "We thought you were all extinct..."

Des grinned, a predatory gesture. "Not yet."

"You will be soon enough. You'll never find that blade until it's driven through your heart by one of us, you son of a--" Olivia was cut off as the sword in Desmond's hand sword pierced her stomach, the tip emerging from her back as he ran her through before tossing her body aside.

Desmond looked around at the room in disgust, absentmindedly wiping the blood from his blade on the back of Gil's jacket. "Humans," he scoffed in disgust.

*****

Hypolyes stood atop the hill, watching as the repository burned to the ground in the distance. He had taken what he needed from the vault, leaving the rest to the flames. He had hoped to recover the sword destined to kill him and destroy it before an enterprising hunter got ahold of it, but the blade was in the wind... for now. With a resigned sigh, the Alpha dragon turned on his heel to march into the darkness.

Chase didn't enjoy Ashley's not too gentle prods of his side to find out the extent of the damage. Though the final small jab had him catching his breath and giving her a small glare as she stood to grab something from the nurses station. The man promptly lowering his arm as she returned with medicine, which he didn't particularly feel he needed but knew to hold his tongue. "I'll take them if I need to." He told her with a nod of thanks, though her final comment caught him off-guard. Chase gave a small chuckle, ending abruptly when he felt a pang in his side warning him not to. "No promises," He started with an obnoxious smirk. "Hormones of a teenager and all that, sometimes we wolves just can't help ourselves." He added sarcastically.

Nurse Ruth's sudden arrival and dislike of current conversation was rather sudden, and right on time. The man simply half rubbing and half covering his face in amusement at the way she spoke. Chase stood up as the nurse went after the vampire for her smoking, "No excuses now." He told her, nodding towards the back in an attempt to have her go check herself out. Clearly planning to go with considering his stance, unless asked not to. If they did manage to get alone he saw it as an opening to tell her about what happened before the angels showed.

It didn't take long for Morgan to find her clothing, right where she had left it mid way between the clinic and where Addy lived. No surprise that no one had come out and found any of it she could still sense the fear within the colony and she could only hope the meeting in the morning would calm their nerves and restore a little balance to their lives. Addy had told her how tense things were inside the colony as they prepared for an 'attack' by the pack. She had wished time and again to tell the woman the truth but the colony had had its chance to listen and their councilors had elected to keep it all secretive.

She changed swiftly back into her own clothing before checking her phone. Only a single message from her uncle dictating that she should return to the pack tonight with Chase and to look out for one another; he was leaving. He also mentioned he was sending in Brody and Malcolm to see their family. "Shit," She stuffed the phone back into her pocket, turning to make a run back for the clinic with Chase's clothing.

Ashley-May winced as she heard Ruth scold her for her comments; that woman had a true knack for catching her in all sorts of bad spots. She said nothing, only returned Chase's glare as the man replied almost under his breath about urges, she could see the bemusement on his face with himself and the trouble she dug herself into. She nodded slowly as he suggested she step away to get checked out herself; it certainly wasn't a moment she was looking forward to, she could feel the fear welling up within her but she cleared her throat and glanced to Ruth as she finished tearing Tara a new one. "Ruth, would you be able to finish up Addy? She just needs a Dab I think and some pain killers for the night; no sign of concussion or any fractures." She smiled as Ruth nodded, heading to get her gloves and kit. Ash smiled to Addy, "You're in good hands," She promised before stepping away and heading to the back.

She knew they had an ultrasound machine somewhere in the back but in all honesty it would take time and more effort she wanted to exert to set it up; she knew there was a much faster way of determining the health and well being of her son. Once within the back halls she found a stethoscope and skirted into Elijah's room. She smiled painfully seeing him; Ruth had done a number - which was to be expected -but he was back in bed, tucked in and hooked up to the IV; getting the pain killers he needed. "Hey" She said sheepishly, trying to assess just how coherent he was at the moment. She waggled the scope at him. "I didn't want to do this alone."

Ruth turned to Adelaide's side, glancing over Ash's open kit; annoyed the woman had left it behind. As much as she respected Ash for her talent and dedication there were ... small bits of annoyance that transpired almost daily; two of which were already exhibited tonight: inappropriate conversations or actions within the clinic, and leaving things a mess. She supposed it could be worse, she could be Sandy. The girl was a mess when it came to emergencies. "How are you feeling Miss Moreau?" She asked despite Ash having done an initial assessment. She shoo'd away Addy's hand peeled back the gauze. She looked it over clinically and noted that Ash was correct. She turned to her kit retrieving the small bottle of medical glue and uncapping it.

iryB73Q.jpg

Sandy came swinging through the doors to the back of the clinic "Hey Ash, I got the blood you needed; since its to feed the Djinn I put them in the incubator..." She paused as she caught sight of Ruth standing in Ash's place. Brown eyes traveled the room swiftly looking for her friend but when she came to realize she was no where to be seen she balked slightly. She backed towards the door but Ruth soon interrupted her. "Well don't be standing around staring all night, feed the girl; she looks like death warmed over." Sandy quickly nodded, skirting around the room to Ginny's side and tucking in the two collected blood bags for her to drink from.

Malcolm's drive to the colony was uneventful; he knew the place well enough once past the gates - not protected by Franklin's Nest. He had been here many years ago and little had changed in that time. He followed the main street from the entrance to the Clinic and pulled up to stop at the curb. Exiting his truck he paused to see the Mainline parked hap-hazardously on the manicured lawn, it's doors wide open. It was a sight to see, he couldn't stop himself from approaching it and lovingly running his hand along the smooth lines as he made his way up to the drivers side, leaning in to look. It was wild to see his wife's, now daughters, car for the first time in over a decade. He saw the keys still dangling from the ignition and slipped into the drivers seat; it was obvious to him that Skye hadn't been the last to drive it.

Doing his due diligence he closed the passengers side door, followed by his own before backing it off the lawn and parking it along the road. He stashed the keys in the car and headed into the clinic to see about his daughter. He didn't expect to find Chase seated in the main area, half naked and very bruised. He paused in the door way cautiously before stepping within. "Is everything alright?"

Mackenzie continued to glower at William as he spoke; the words stung beyond all measure. She wanted to trust him, wanted it to be the truth but she could feel the Grace within him. She glanced momentarily to the woman - Gaveel - near him before back again, body relaxing slightly but not entirely. "Ash is okay?" She asked quietly; if he had made a deal she would work endlessly to get him out of it, to free him from the terms one way or another. She watched the man nod and it still took several seconds before she relaxed entirely, stepping forward to take his out stretched hand; predictably being pulling into his arms and held tightly.

Gaveel watched the encounter annoyed with the delay; she hadn't expected the Prophet to be volatile to someone she actually cared about, though she had to give the Nephilim credit where credit was due in his efficient way of subduing the hunter. "Well, now that that's over with." She said crisply, turning back to the room to see the other angels quickly returning to their work after being distracted by the pair. She sighed and returned to the table with the various scrolls, selecting one and holding it to the Nephilim. "This is the binding ritual; it will bring her soul in line with your own. You will need to trace the rune on her palm with a blade and hold it to your chest and then repeat with your own. After this you will activate the rune with your Grace and it will bind the two of you together." She paused, "I will assist on the use of your Grace as it may not come to you naturally."

Ginny takes the blood bags, that hint of a smile vanishing. She glances around nervously at everyone, before opening it, and putting her mouth where the tube would normally go, her eyes lowered shyly as she sucks at it like normal people might drink a juice box. She sighs with relief, already feeling that rush that always hits her when she feeds. She’s already feeling a lot better.

Tara groans softly, the scent hitting her, and immediately looks away, forcing her fangs back into their sheathes. She wishes Franklin were here, since he’s been so good about keeping her bloodlust in check throughout this time in the colony, but he’s not. And she will not leave Ginny right now. Not when the djinn is so scared. Tara will just have to tough this one out on her own.

She looks up at the nurses, trying to hide the strain this is putting on her. “Thank you.” She murmurs, glad that they’re willing to help her friend without questions.

Adelaide winced at Ruth's obvious displeasure with Tara's indiscretion, despite the nurse's rage not being directed at her. The woman lighting up certainly hadn't been missed -- it was hard not not to notice from this distance -- but she didn't question it, understanding Tara's reasoning in trying to suppress her urges. Ruth was far less accommodating and Addy was thankful when the vampire gave into her demands. Ginny's sudden relief at being able to feed was palpable to the psychic; she was happy for the young Djinn. The past few weeks had been hard on her, trying to fit in at Vitae after the hardships she had already faced in life.

Ruth approached and began picking up where Ash had left off. "I'm all right, thank you," Addy answered politely, holding still to allow the nurse to do her work. She glanced up to see another man enter -- not familiar to Adelaide. He addressed Chase with familiarity, leaving her to assume he was another member of the Pack. Addy remained silent, content to let the two discuss matters alone as Ruth patched her up.

Elijah turned upon seeing a figure enter his view at the doorway. He was delighted to see that it was Ashley-May, giving her a wide smile. "Hey, you," he murmured, the painkillers already kicking in but not yet putting him out. As she held up the stethoscope, he frowned for a moment before understanding dawned on him. He nodded, scooting over on the bed and tossing the covers back to make room for her. "Come here," he said gently.

William was overjoyed as Mackenzie took his hand, pulling her tightly against him in a warm embrace. Gaveel gave the two of them precious little time to reconnect before moving on with the next necessary ritual: the binding of their souls. Will kept his hand clasped around Mac's as he listened to the angel's instructions, nodding slowly as she finished. He took the bright, polished blade Gaveel held out to him in his free hand, turning to look at Mackenzie and waiting for her silent assent before slowly lifting her hand, turning her palm toward him. He hated the idea of what came next, but he knew it was necessary.

With the scroll splayed out in plain view, William lowered the tip of the blade to Mac's palm and applied the slightest bit of pressure. The knife was sharp -- very sharp -- and he saw her flesh part, small rivulets of blood running out. His jaw was clenched, wanting to apologize to his love for the pain he was causing but forcing himself to continue. Finally finished, he set the blade down on the table before stripping off his shirt and nodding to Mac.

It seemed rather obvious that Ashley sought some privacy so Chase didn't follow after her. Instead he was met with the voice he recognized as Malcolm, curiously he turned around to see the man entering the clinic. Though he was quick to realize why the Beta had come, his daughter lying in a coma. Chase nodded at his question, "Long story...but things settled down. Emile and the pack get back no problem?" He glanced towards the others still in the lobby then back to Malcolm, "I'm sorry about your daughter, but she should be fine. Again, long story." Chase shook his head ready to lead the other man to her room if he needed it, "Short version of both stores: Angels."

Ashley-May sighed in relief seeing Elijah still within a coherent state of mind; it was selfish, she knew, to put this one him but she needed someone to be there with her no matter what the discovery was. She would have gone to Mac first, naturally, the small hunter had been her rock for almost six years. The woman had pulled her from the depths of Hell and she trusted Mac with her life. As much as she loved Elijah they had just broken back onto stable ground. He moved over on the bed, inviting her in and she went to him without second guessing. She came around the side of the bed and pulled herself up to sit along side of him, setting the scope on his lap as her hands went to the top of her jeans.

She was too nervous to speak, her hands shaking as he pulled open the button then fly of her jeans, pulling them apart enough to expose part of her abdomen, enough to place the diaphragm. She chewed nervously as her lower lips as she struggled to place the ear tips within her hears, thanking Eli as he assisted her. She watched with anxious anticipation as he placed the diaphragm against her abdomen; she listened but heard nothing but her own racing heart. She guided his hand with hers, moving the metal circle until she found it; found him. Hand immediately rose to her mouth, feeling tears rolling down her cheeks as she nodded to Eli and smiling. "He's okay," She whispered quietly, pulling the stethoscope away, offering it to him to listen to the rapid heart beat of their son.

Ruth nodded as Adelaide noted she was fine; she didn't doubt the woman had one hell of a headache but was putting on a brave face. She quickly administered the few droplets of glue to the woman's cleaned scalp, holding the wound closed as a man came through the doorway and addressed Chase. She listened, no care if their conversation was private - it was being held in her clinic and as such would not be considered as such. The stranger was soon identified and his presence now made sense. "Mr. Cannonach," She interrupted, "Your son said you'd be on your way, I didn't expect you so quickly," She glanced to the nurse still standing near the woman consuming the blood bags. "Sandy please see Mr. Cannonach into the back to see his daughter."

She glanced down to Adelaide's minor wound, seeing the glue had dried enough to hold it closed. "Mr. Keaton," She said without looking away from her work. "I imagine you will want to join the others in the back, but I'd appreciate if you could dress accordingly before visiting any of my patients." She said crisply, packing away her kit, followed by Ashley-Mays. "And keep an eye on Miss Moreau, any signs of disorientation or confusion need to be reported, understood?"

Malcolm huffed slightly hearing Chase's explanations, the short version of each, was less than thrilling, "You'll have to explain it all, in detail, later." He said before the Nurse spoke to him. He nodded, "Thank you," And soon followed the flighty young girl through the doors of the main lobby into the hall behind. He didn't need the nurse to lead him, the moment he stepped beyond the doors he could tell where his daughter and his son were, both their scents distinct to him. She led him down the short hall and to and open door and he stepped within to see Skye in the small hospital bed. She had always resembled her mother but he hadn't seen her since she had been twelve; now that she had grown up, entirely so, she looked exactly like her. Brody was at her side, sitting in a chair pulled along side the bed, asleep, his hand locked around Skye's ankle through the blankets. He stepped in quietly, to stand along side the bed. Emile had mentioned something of Rune earlier, but he could see none of that now.

Panting, Morgan arrived at the front of the Clinic again, she slowed enough as she came to the lawn, coming to a stop with a frown. Something was... different, from when she had left. It took several seconds to realize the car that had been on the lawn was gone; now parked on the street, and Malcolm's truck now sat packed behind it. She cursed herself again, turning to make a dash for the interior of the clinic, rushing through the main doors to earn a glare from an older woman.

Mackenzie glared at Gaveel as the angel instructed Will, not for any other reason beyond the fact that she didn't trust the creature no matter how much Will apparently did. Eyes traveled around the pristine looking room, meeting every gaze that dared to meet her own defiantly. They looked scared, timid of her but maybe it was Will they were intimidated by. She could feel their presence but the more she thought about it the better she understood. Like the gods before she could not only sense where they were but just how strong they were. The woman, Gaveel was powerful, the others around the room varying but William radiated strength and power; she just couldn't fathom why.

She silently watched as he copied the rune onto the palm of her hand, wrinkling her nose as the sharp pain followed it. She hesitated as he removed his shirt, exposed his chest for her to follow the instructions. She didn't know the purpose of this, she didn't understand why they would need to bind their soul (or what that meant) but seeing his confident nod she placed her bloodied palm to his chest, over his heart and waited.

Elijah watched Ashley-May slowly, one arm around her shoulders as she maneuvered into the bed alongside him and bared her abdomen. Taking the diaphragm end of the stethoscope from her and allowing her to keep the eartips. Taking a deep breath, Eli pressed the cool metal of the diaphragm against his girlfriend's skin, allowing Ashley-May's hand to guide him. He watched her face intently for any reaction -- good or bad -- to what she heard... or didn't hear. His own heart was thundering in his chest -- ready to leap into his throat or drop into his gut -- sweat beading up on his palms with the tension of the moment.

Finally, Eli saw Ash's eyes light up. Her hand went to her mouth as tears formed -- the most beautiful sight he'd ever seen. In that moment, every ounce of tension drained from his body as he let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding, closing his eyes and smiling with relief. As Ashley-May offered him the eartips, he accepted them without hesitation, careful to keep the diaphragm in place as he used his free arm to place them in his ears. He heard the sound of Liam's tiny but undeniably strong heart thumping steadily away and grinned uncontrollably, eyes stinging as he laughed the laugh of released anxiety. Elijah remained like that for several moments, listening to the sound of a child that wasn't his... but would be. "Hey there, son," he murmured. Finally he released the stethoscope, lowering his head to place a gentle kiss on Ashley-May's abdomen before wrapping his arms around her, resting his head on her shoulder.

Adelaide watched the scene as Ruth addressed the newcomer -- none other than Mackenzie's father and the Pack Beta himself -- with utter professional courtesy before turning her cool wrath on poor Chase. She gave the wolf a bemused but sympathetic glance, hoping he knew better than to tempt Ruth's anger. The woman was implacable on the best of days and tonight she was most certainly in rare form. It certainly didn't help that Morgan entered soon after in a rush (now clothed, thankfully), causing the nurse to give her a cold glare that stopped the young wolf dead in her tracks.

Deciding to intercede on the werewolves' behalf before Ruth decided to go for the silver nitrate to get her point across, Adelaide cleared her throat before speaking up. "Thank you, Miss Ruth," she said as politely as she could manage. "I'll be sure to let you or Ash know if I feel anything."

Will Looking.jpg
William could tell that Mackenzie was less than convinced with the ritual and its necessity, but she went along with it out of trust for him. Feeling her warm blood coursing against his chest in a sensation that was disconcerting, he was quick to take up the blade again and begin replicating the sigil on his own hand. The pain was distant -- he was aware of the tip of the blade piercing his skin, but no stinging flare shot through his nerves. It was dampened... almost like it was happening to someone else. He ignored the strange sensation, finishing the sigil before once again setting the blade aside and using his now-free hand to lift Mac's shirt enough to place his bloody palm to her chest."

He turned to nod at Gaveel before closing his eyes -- he had no idea how to summon forth his Grace. The prospect was overwhelming and alien to him, even in his new form. He waited for the angel's guidance, taking several deep breaths to steady his nerves.
