I'm thinking my character's family history will focus a lot on the Salem Witch Trials. Basically, they were actual witch hunters that lived in Salem, but after discovering that there were no witches, and that it was simply a way to get land, they were accused of witchcraft and fled to what is now Maine. They then assimilated into the town, quietly watching for any supernatural threats.
