At the last resort and seeing that she was falling behind from Kaleb she formed a very strong and elastic bubble around her and started to ram through the undead as she ran after Kaleb.

The 'classified' building is apparently underground, and the elevators heading down to it are extremely heavily guarded. Heavy duty drilling equipment and high-grade explosives are brought down the lifts every few seconds.

The Veteran mercs were pretty clever, but these Elites are... well, elite. Of course, it's possible to just hide with the cargo heading down.
