Eris keeps yelling in protest until she abruptly stops. Moments later, she returns to her docile tone. "I apologize for my rude behavior. However, I'm afraid there's a bit of an issue involving the possibility of Peter getting to Maddy first and putting this plan in jeopardy. I shall do what I can."

She sends a text to Maddy.
'Maddy! I need your advice on something I'm working on, but it's a secret so it's just between us ladies okay. Can we talk over frozen drinks? My treat.'
