The book initially drains her energy as it temporarily blocks off her dark magic so that she can properly use the book. An old wizard's voice started speaking from the book.
"Your magic was dark, and yet the Tome accepted you. There must be something dire going on. What do you need?"

"I see." The wizard said. "It must be the curse that we've been working so hard to try and cure. The blades on those daggers were forged from the spikes of a spirit that resides in a malicious book. It feeds off of the souls it takes, granting itself and the user immense strength. The price is that the user is completely under the creature's mercy as well, but they tend to not care anyway. This may sound strange, but the key to freeing those who lost their spirits is by going in as one. You mentioned two of your people were stabbed, that means that if they're still affected, they can cross over and confront the beast."
