One of the punches struck the wolf in the leg, which caused it to be slide and tumbled at a weird diagonal angle from Fourarms. But not before it managed to get a try at scratching one of the arms.
As Lydia carefully cut vegetables out of her mother's view, she realized something. Illustration had saved people, sure. But here, Lydia was being a true hero to her mother, with helping her avoid flashbacks and handle her prosthetic leg. Illustration was likely gone, maybe forever. But her heroing wasn't quite over. This made Lydia smile as she carefully sliced the celery in front of her.
Her powers had been great, but some heroes didn't have to wear capes at all.

The patrons began breaking the bones. Some impaled themselves on them and laughed as they broke the bones and were free.

In a not-so-far-away prison...
The young adult sat in the cell that had been made especially to handle his gifts. It wasn't the first, likely wouldn't be the last. He was much too dangerous to ever have a last. What did last mean again anyways? It hummed with familiarity at a memory for the feeling in his heart when the metal blade had sliced through the older man's chest. Last, yes. There was a lot of last in that moment. Last breath, last sight, at last he had loosened one of the things truly holding back his gifts. That man had only been one. There was the other, who he'd made the mistake of leaving to suffer. Then the spared one betrayed him, and now he had many things holding him back. He tilted his head downwards so his long bangs covered his peripheral vision. For now. Now. This time. This moment. Now he was held back again. Soon. Later. Another time. He'd finally break all of the things holding him back.
In an academy a few hours away...
The purple-haired girl took a deep inhale of the shirt she held. The one they'd made together. When she hadn't screwed everything up. When she hadn't let her feelings get the best of her. When there wasn't a two-way duel of lies.
Tears slithered down her cheeks, and her heart fluttered with heartbreak, betrayal, and loneliness.
(these are kinda teasers for the characters i'll properly introduce in the future)
