Fandom Superheros and Villains

You look down to find an injured Oracle sitting on her knees, huddled in her measly tunic, clearly cold. She says nothing and hands you a note that reads, "Found this woman curled up in an alleyway on my route home. Did some basic first-aid because she demanded that I take her to "location where path shows" rather than the hospital. If she isn't a total dumbass around you people, please get her medical attention. Her eyes got...a beating." The note is unsigned, but you can see a thin teenage figure in a grey hoodie stalking away, some bracelets helter-skelterly tossed behind them. Whether the author is telling the truth or not, they appear to be right about her eyes. The basic bandages across them are absolutely soaked with red.
Ben slammed down on the Omnitrix. "HEAL ZONE!" He began to use his abilities to heal her.

(on an unrelated note, i went to a convention today, yesterday, and are definitely going tomorrow. yesterday i cosplayed as frisk, today i cosplayed as chara, and tomorrow i don't plan to wear anything special.)

Oracle gives a small shudder and accepts the healing. The teenager in the hoodie pauses within viewing distance of the doorstep.

He helps Oracle inside and turns back to normal. He grabbed his green jacket off the coat rack and puts it on. He walked over to the figure in the hoodie.

Oracle curls up with a blanket on the couch and dreams very stressful dreams. The teenager turns their back and pretends not to notice Ben. They instead focus on the charcoal and notebook in their hand.

Ben leans against a tree for a minute. "Okay I'll start. Mind telling where you found this person."

"Alleyway 'tween The Coffee Bean and Fallstone Credit Union. She was sitting in a box, using some rags to try to bandage some fresh wounds on herself. Don't know how long she was there, don't know who hurt her or why, sure as hell wasn't me." It's a female voice, and she doesn't even look up from her sketches as she says it.

He looked at the sketch book.

He looked at the sketch book.

A simple sketch of some thin, singular flowers you'd find on a tree in spring. She hesitates for a moment, then flicks the sketch of one of the flowers as if it were sitting there. It flutters off the page and into the air, gently fluttering to the ground, where it settles as if it hadn't been a drawing a few seconds ago. "Not the first time I've seen that odd woman. Sighted her off to the side of some parking lot brawl with a clawed man and a boy in a suit fighting some bad, 'tween some bushes. Seen her a few times in the park's yoga sessions and drum circles. Odd hippie, eh?" Her eyes are focused on the small flower as it flutters to the ground.

"Odd is subjective." Ben said gesturing toward what she just made happen. "For example I have a high tech watch that turns me into aliens and monsters."

"Hero, I'm guessing? Yea, I thought that was cute once." She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a ring with a purple and white swirled band, with a little white easel with purple paints and brush decorating it. She tosses it to Ben. "Magical-girl style costume transformation thing, like some anime or whatever......Friend's idea, not mine."

Her voice shakes a little at the word 'friend', as if it has some emotion with it.

"The names Shock-boy, Excalibur, Gorgon? Those ring a bell? Probably do, don't they? They were always so much better than me at handling tragedy and staying optimistic." She says, the last few words causing her to stop drawing for a second.

"Shock-Boy. Yeah geeky kid. Fainted when he met me." Ben said.

"Heh. He probably did. Geeky and obsessive, oh how obsessive. He wouldn't stop trying to take down Nightingale, obsessed over stopping her nasty chain of robberies, and yet when it was all over, he obsessed over never speaking of it again. He is so damn obsessed with the idea of being a superhero that he'd skip a beat in thinking just because he thinks it'll bring him a step closer. He's probably mentioned Killzilla, right?"

Uh. I have heard of neither nightemgale nor killzilla." Ben said arching a brow curiously. "Truth be told.I haven't seen him for a couple months."

"Probably hasn't told you about his old pal "The Illustration" either, eh? Well, it was more of a one-sided thing. I was never interested in being part of the group, but I kept getting roped in."

"Shock-Boy, The Illustration, geez that's almost as bad as Ben 10." Ben said. "Anyway I'm more interested these incidents you spoke of."

"Probably wouldn't get these stories out of anyone else. Shock-boy likes to keep his past losses, allies, and enemies in just that, the past. He moves forward with his life."

She smirks a little at the name critique, but then quickly returns to her blank face.

"Nightingale was the first real villain we really had around town. Sound manipulator, sonic screamer, the works. Shock-boy had some drama with her in the final showdown that resulted in him straight-out letting her go. I don't know the specifics at all, none of the others would tell me. Secret-identity related stuff, I s'pose."

"Who are you?" Ben asked. "Like really who are you?"
