"For being the first person in my life to give me a second chance." He said "When I first met you, I tried to hurt you... and then when I lost my parents, the house let me in. You gave me a second chance at life... and now..." He smiled "Well, I don't even know where to begin."
Maddy smiled. " well people change. So wanna open your gift? You are really hard to shop for."
"There is no need to shop for me." He said "I have deep pockets and I'm a spoiled brat." He then looked at the gift and opened it.
It was a glass rose in a case like from beauty and the beast. Maddy smiled. "You did tell me your mom and you shared a favorite flower, I hope you like it"
"It was always her favorite." He said "It's the one we used at..." He sighed "At the funeral." He opened a portal and gently placed the case in his living room under a picture of his family. "Almost seems like fate that I got that table, just in time for your gift."
" yeah I know I remember picking out the flowers." She said and smiled. "Sometimes I wish I could have met your parents."
"I guess some things were not meant to be." He said.
"Yeah guess your right about that" she said.
"But this cruiseline will be a great time off from the hero work." He said "Unfortunately I couldn't get any sooner than the cruise in summer." He said
"That's ok" she said.
"Don't feel bad." Ben said. He pulled out a small parcel out of his back pocket. He handed it to her.
She opens it.
Inside was a crystal four leaf clover probably made by diamondhead. There were words engraved on it. "For my Real Lucky Charm."
" awww..this is lovely." She smiled.
"Great, just remember to pack your bags in June, alright?" He said
"I couldn't really think what else to get you." Ben said. "My first choice was another Omnitrix but I figured you wouldn't really care for one." Ben said rubbing the back of his head.
"Got it" she nods
"I think this is perfect." She smiled. Indigo meows and looks at it.
"Finally, time for us to relax. Away from everything." He said "I'm sure you have enough vacation days, it's a two week trip. We leave for the cruise in California by June 4" ( *FORESHADOWING INTENSIFIES* )
"Oh good I was worrying that I jumped the gun." Ben said falling onto his back. "I need sleep." Ben said.
"sounds good and who knows maybe if someone can't go on a earlier cruise we can try to get that spot." She shrugged and smiled.
"Then get some sleep Ben, im sure your grandpa won't mind you taking a cat nap on the floor." Fate said.
"You're also tired." Ben said pulling her down with him.
"No its fine, I don't want to sleep." She said.
