Realistic or Modern SuperHero Academy

Crawling along the ceiling was the invisible Zero, watching Bael walk away. Everyone was leaving now, why? "If I may ask, human. Why is you leaving?" He asked, not bothering to turn uninvisible. "What is wrong with here now?"

@Sleipnir

"I'm not-" Bael stopped short, then looked away. "I didn't say there's anything wrong," he finally said. "It's just not home. D'you see? Until I'm home I'll be worse than I usually am, and home is in the lighthouse on the lake."

Home? Last time he went home his people died. "But that is where you be alone all the time. Why do that?" He asked further, not understanding this human. "Why be alone for all life when can stay here with others?"

Bael first looked back behind him, then at something in his vest pocket. "Well... Maybe not alone all the time," Bael replied. "But until I'm sure, I know this: I'm pretty okay with being alone. I managed alright for a very long time. I have other things to distract me."

"But being alone... it not good for mind for long periods of time" Zero argued, hating the thought of being alone again. He never wanted to be alone again. "Distraction only dulls out everything else, why take that instead of other humans?"

"Alice... You're not planning on doing what I think you are..... Are you? You know you shouldn't kill anyone."

For the first time in years, Bael laughed. "Oh - my mind has dealt with worse than loneliness. I want to go home because I love my home. Even if I'm alone, I'm in the one place I love. I get to see the sun set over such an expanse of water - it looks as if there's no end to it. The sun turns the waves this beautiful orange, and on really nice days, you can see these sharp black silhouettes of the sailboats out on the water. Sharper than knives. And in bad weather - in bad weather, my job is making sure those boats are safe. I keep the lighthouse working and seeing the light just cut the black... You see every last rain drop, and it's dazzling. In the fog, it's just a beam of light." He paused. "I chose it because even with no others, I'm not alone. I'm with the lighthouse and in its own way, it's the fairest company I could get."

Seven grinned, able to hear the exchange from her room. Bael seemed different talking about that lighthouse than when he was with anyone else. Perhaps he'd even changed a bit.

Zero blinked, tilting his head. This human had a different mindset then he had, it was way different. He spoke as if the lighthouse was another person. But talking about it made him want his old home back in the marshes, his old family and old leaders. He sighed though shook his head. "Sound like nice place for human to inhabit. I see that human does like lighthouse a lot, cure loneliness"

Bael shrugged a bit and nodded. "Well... In a way, yes. I suppose it does, doesn't it?" He paused. "...I've never considered it that way. But yes. My home - the lighthouse - it does cure the loneliness." He quieted again, considering everything else that had happened there that had caused him never to consider his solitude as anything but positive. Subconciously, he pressed a hand into his hair.

He pulled his hand away suddenly. "I, uh... If I may, I have something I need to take care of."

Zero nodded, though he didnt move. He wasnt in his way, he was still on the ceiling so he was well out of the way.

Zero thought a minute then nodded. "Follow me" He said, crawling along the ceiling and down the hall to where Alice was still with Alexander and her dead brother. Zero almost felt bad, well he did feel bad but he couldnt do anything about it anymore. He stopped outside Alice's room and nodded.

Bael stood in the doorway for several moments, quiet. Finally, he asked, "Alice?" He leaned in, putting on hand in his pocket.

@KattRai

The shadow melted down and reappeared beside Masks. "Why is everyone so sad?" It asked, speaking for Shadow Kage since she didnt want to up and walk into the place. "I know someone died but wont that happen sometime anyway?" It really didnt make sense to her why everyone was so sad about the dude's death. C'mon now, cry and move on!

@subject 635

(Oh yea, I forgot I called her that) The shadow blinked, "Heartbreaking?" It asked. Yea, she knew the emotional term for it but the first thing that came to her mind was someone physically crushing your heart. "Well, why even get attached? Everything dies sometime, doing that would just weaken you"

@subject 635

Masks looks at her "because.... with out attachment..we would all be in chaos.... a world full of hate.... we would kill someone for looking at us..." he says looking down "everyone is attached to something... one way or another...."

@Bonnie the Bunny

"It's not a choice." He said in response to the conversation a few feet away.

"We just do. And I'm glad we get attached, or else this species wouldn't have made it this long."

"I dont feel attached to anything really, guess its a human thing" Humans were odd yet she liked being one at the moment. She heard Alexander and turned her head, "You eavesdroppin', numb-nuts? Y'know that is incredibly rude" She probably shouldnt be talking, she was the very definition of rude. But oh well.

"Mostly yes, I really cant go back on them either. It is better just to stick with em until they get beat outta ya one way or another. Or you just go through with whatever decision you made, and finish it. Ta-da! Then you dont have to think about that decision ever again" She said.

Masks looks up at the roof "then you are attached to your decisions... being attached means.. no matter what... you will always follow through till the end"

"I guess that is that definition of attached, but its not like I'll be heartbroken over one of my decisions anytime soon. I mean seriously, their words or thoughts. If thats the only thing I'm attacked to then I'm fine" SHe crossed her arms, then looked up at the ceiling as well. "Whatcha lookin at?"
