Welcome all, to a world unlike you've ever seen.
In this thread, you will find the many different individuals who are a part of this twisting tale. There are no character sheet requirements that I'm going to limit you to, as I trust that each of you know your precious characters best. I know that you will put the information that is most important about them. I do ask for a section containing their newfound ability/item, and how it relates to a major part of their overall personality.
And now, to introduce your lovely host!
Name: Hux
Species: Arbiter/Divine Judge
Gender: Agender; presents as male
Age: ???
Sexuality: Bisexual
-
Personality:
Hux cannot be described in words that humans can understand. He's the prickling feeling of cold sweat on the back of your neck when you know something's following you in the woods at night. The twitch of the arteries in your neck when you supernaturally sense that your life is soon going to come to a close. Conversely, he's like the rush of endorphins you get after winning a jackpot at the slot machine. The bright, shining lights, varying in every possible neon color. The dinging of bells signaling that you're the one and only winner. The cheers of people around you, filling your head and triggering the elated smile on your face. The high of life. He makes you feel like someone who is beyond lucky to be alive in the space that you occupy. He feels like bone-chilling danger - the type that makes your hands tremble and your stomach drop like lead.
Most of all, he brings about a feeling of purely primal fear.
This is perfect for bringing out the best and worst in people, is it not? You must see all sides of an individual in order to judge their souls. Their highest hopes and most violent, terrifying lows.
Hux acts superior to humans, and knows from experience that he has the right to act in such a way. He gets what he wants, no matter who is harmed in the process. He's cold and heartless, yet tenderly sweet. He's a collection of contradictions, packaged in the most sinister of gifts. Hux is confident. Unflinching. He takes risks without hesitation, knowing that he can take the consequences.
Backstory:
Hux was not born the way that any Earthly creatures are. Rather, he was created from seemingly nothing, just like the hundreds of brothers and sisters that were made at the same time as he was. Being lost, confused, and scared, Hux was drawn to the voice of his creator and given one order.
"My children... whichever one of you is the strongest is the only one who deserves to live. Now... kill!"
Just like that, Hux's small world became a battle for survival. As he clumsily learned to use his new form and conscience, he learned what it meant to take a life, and how it felt to eat a soul. And another. And another.
Eventually, he was the last one left. The survivor. The winner. He had killed his siblings, and became the only one who deserved life. From the beginning of his existence, Hux learned an important lesson. The strongest are the only ones who call the shots.
After observing human behavior, Hux proved this rule to be true. The powerful, the corrupt - they all were in power.
Hux was made for a distinct purpose - to judge human souls, and decide whether they deserve to be reincarnated or eaten. As a being who thoroughly enjoys eating souls, Hux does not make it easy for humans to pass his tests. He manipulates them. Tortures them. Pits them against each other, making them think their lives are at stake. Watching the destruction and terror that follow simply makes him pleased, knowing that he will have a fresh meal soon to devour.
Appearance:
Hux's truest, most natural form is... a lack of a form at all. From the eyes of any living being, Hux looks to be a shadow. He appears as a collection of constantly moving scribbles, formed messily into the shape of a man. Overall, his form holds no coherence. It's broken. Incomplete. If someone were to focus on one part of him, then they can catch small glimpses of what his body should appear as if it were clear. His red, piercing eyes. Black, goat-like horns curled around his head. A sculpted yet scarred body, like the statue of a Greek god that has become broken and cracked over the ages. His body is scarred, most prominently on his face and neck, which are the most visible. He has a scar running down his left eye, as well as a healed-up gash across his nose. On his neck, there is a scar reminiscent of a claw-mark that must have come from a fanciful, mighty beast. These scars are from his struggle to survive in a battle to be deserving of existence. Hux has no motive to hide them.
With enough energy, Hux can change his appearance to fit in a little more with humans. He tends to appear as male - he has only appeared as a female twice in his life. As of now, Hux appears as tall and muscular, with dark skin and an even darker aura to his being. His hair is curly and short, and is gorgeous in its own way. He keeps his dark horns entirely visible, which are beautifully kept without a single scratch upon them. His eyes are pitch-black, with pupils the bright and eerie color of the blood moon. His fingers and nails are pointed like sharp claws, and have torn through the souls of victims who just couldn't pass the test. His smile is devious, with sharp, gleaming, white teeth lining the inside of his mouth. Hux dresses cleanly, wearing suits or button up shirts and slacks. He looks professional at all times. Handsome, yet dangerous.
