Pequeno Burraidh
Beag Combatiente
War is as war has always been.
Two nations duking it out, claiming to be what's best even as they leave ruin behind them, callously letting those that get caught in the middle fall to their fates. This continues for generations, and now very little of what once made the world beautiful remains.
Over eight percent of the countries left are war going groups constantly warring with one another, and trying to drag others into their battles as the worst of human nature runs rampant. Most of the other twenty percent are subjugated in one way or another, save for a handful. Your homeland, Rangimarie.
Living in Rangimarie, your knowledge of the outside world is what you chose to learn. Whether you fled from another country, or were born there, and whether you range from a simple grocery store worker to a high end politician, you have been able to do anything you've ever wanted with your life. This includes being part of the bi-monthly lottery. Everyone always wins something, but what they win is generally always different.
This month you've won a week long cruise, and this will be where your story starts.
The first five days of your cruise are simple. You laugh, make friends and enjoy yourself. On days six however, you first encounter a refugee boat, and welcome them aboard with open arms. That night a massive gas-based explosive sends toxic fumes throughout the majority of the ship which immediately kill everyone caught up in it. You are one of these people.
However, on the morning of the seventh day, as your home nation is being invaded, you as well a a handful of others will awaken, not quite dead, but not quite alive either.

Well, I mean, technically.
As a survivor of a terrorist attack, you awaken later to find that your aren't quite dead, but not quite alive anymore either. No craving for brains, but if you're protein levels start to drop and stay too low for too long your body will begin to decay.
The actual plot of the story, however, will focus on all of you doing your best to survive as your nation falls under attack, and to choose whether or not you will become the heroes you're now equipped to be, or the villains you were intended to become.
Other plot points, such as finding a cure, tracking down the terrorists that gassed you, romance and more will be expounded upon as I continue to work on this.
I also plan one having a few human roles open for those not wanting to be a member of the undead posse.
