[Stay Frosty!] Stay Frosty! Discussion

Yes. Just make sure to do it, do it. So point out in the fiction you're assessing the sitch and roll it.

I'll edit my post now. Really need to read over all the moves for CM again.

I haven't gotten them all down yet. I may have messed this up, but it will work as the AW games like this, so we should be fine.

Aye. I do like the volume of fire rules, I have to say. Reminds of the supremely elegant mass combat rules of L5R.

And only now do I remember I roll Battle for this due to my Battlefield Awareness

Just as you open up down the street, Meijer, a second group fires on you all. You all can see three of them firing from behind the building East of you. Taken by surprise, you all take 1d Incidental harm.

What that means is you roll a single die on the volume of fire table under the first row, for Incidental. The numbers along the top tell you which column you fall under and you'll find out if you take stress or a wound.

Do that now, you're under fire. Then, we'll move to the next roll.
...any chance you could walk us through this? I don't think this affects me, since the column/row you're talking about is just --. Probably because I'm immune to stress damage?

For sure. We're all going to be learning here.

So, both groups are firing on you now, I've done a hard move since Thorne failed his roll. I'm inflicting harm. But they suck, so their fire is considered incidental.

So, since I gave you 1d incidental fire, take a single d6 and roll it. Whatever number you get corresponds with the number at the top of the table. A 3+ is stress and a 6 is a wound.

Makes sense?

This might not stand. I'm working through the rules and thinking it might not work this way. Stay with me, I'll get right back to you.

Okay, never mind. It's right. Sorry, this early stuff will take time to iron out.

Those who rolled 3+, take a stress. If you rolled 6, mark a wound instead. You're choice on where you mark either a stress or a wound.

Here's what it says about marking stress:

(s) stress: Mark a slash in a stress box of your choice. Your character’s next action will be influenced by the box you mark. flight: avoid the enemy, fall back, take cover, assist a comrade. fight: attack the enemy, pursue, seize territory. shock: cower in fear, freeze up, stall, confusion.

I'm sorry this game never really got a chance. Maybe someday in the future. For now, I'm archiving it. Thanks for the work, guys. I hope to see you in our other games.
