Static Value Question

On page 185 of Exalted 2, in the box there is written that "no combination of charms ... can increase a static rating by more than half the (Atrribute+Ability). Does that mean that I can (with Dodge 3, Dex 3) raise my DDV by 3, or that I can (with Athletics 3 and Strength 3) raise my "Feats of Strenght" value by 3 (which would, tought further, allow me to raise my DV by 1,5 = 2).

Or can I double the feats of strength value? Or do DV and Feats of Strength work differently?

Sorry for the confusing post, but I AM confused.

Yes. DV is a static value derived from a dice pool. The feats of strength table is just the dice pool, in a table. Dice pools can be doubled, as can static values. That's what they're saying, in a roundabout way. Incresing your DDV by 3, in your example, is just like doubling your pool and then recalculating DDV.

Thanks. I was just confused, because they mentioned Feats of Strength on page 185,but that was how I thought it SHOULD work.

If you have a 3/3 you have a DDV of 3 right?   So if you buy 6 extra dice and roll 5 successes are they capped at +3 to your DDV?  Or am I misreading?

I don't have my book with me but are external mods different from that?

IE, if I have a shield it's not capped at 6 right?  Or if I have some spell that makes me really hard to look at and gives me +2DV?

Or is it always capped at 6?

Crap, now I want to go home from work and read my book... :)
