Star wars

@FabulousTrash

Upon the Generals arrival, she would notice that the barracks were abuzz with activity. Columns of soldiers in full battle armor, riot shields and blaster rifles were loading onto transports, AT-AT's were loaded onto gunships, and several engineers were at work warming up ground defense cannons, equipment which had not even been trained with for months, several of them were not even operational. Several battalions were still in the practice fields, accepting assignments, and several more were in formation out on the open fields waiting for transport. Activity was evident everywhere, at least on the ground, word had not yet reached the fleet, although soon the Admiral might hear about this. It would take nearly ten minutes before the Jedi could find Arc, and when she did, Talena would find her in an improvised command room with several other captains, Arc herself running her finger along the city, speaking quickly and efficiently in ordering the Legion to their positions. Several captains of Red battalion were leaving when Talena entered to see the scene. Arc immediately noticed her, stopping to glance up at the General. "What is the situation commander?"

There would be at least a ten minute window of when the Admiral received the news, to when the fleet shifted, a solid ten minute window of opportunity to catch the defense fleet off guard. At the moment, the majority of the Venator's shield weren't even online... nor their weapons. It would be a slaughter.

The Council decided to believe me and are currently alerting nearby Republic fleets. For now, however, its just us

Talena turned towards the clone that was at the comns station

Get me an open comn channel to the CSF fleet Admiral.

In her mind, Talena was thinking of the many possibly tactics the enemies could use to successfully push through into Coruscant. Though, with so many possibilities in mind, she finally decided that they would just have to be prepared for anything

Arc, trigger the planet-wide alarm. We need to get the civilians evacuated and into the Underground Bunkers. Have Red Company and the Riot Troopers on that. The rest of them need to get deployed as quick as possible

@FabulousTrash

The response was quick and deceive from the highly trained clones, the coms officer began on the holo net, while Arc gave but a mere nod before brushing past Talena and out of the tent, brushing her cloak as she passed. Arc said not a word in passing, carrying out her orders efficiently and with certainty. Soon the entirety of Red battalion was deployed out into the city proper, and riot troopers were deployed in key positions around the city center, especially the senate plaza. Arc had things well under control, and a good thing too, for there was another problem. The coms officer called out in an uncertain voice behind her, "general, we've lost contact with the holo net. I have no conformation, but it looks like the entire network is shut down all across the planet... we're cut off from the outside, all we have are local coms". The news was not good... and the lack of holocommunication was evident simply when one looked up. The venator class starship orbiting the planet... we're not moving an inch from their normal patterns, as if there was no real alert at all. The admiral knew nothing of what was going on planetside, and unless they found another method of communication, the defense fleet would never know about an impending invasion. Meanwhile, what was almost worse, is that the alarm could not be raised without access to the system. The alarm would have to be triggered directly from the Senate building, and even then it would only cover part of the city.

Talena cursed under her breath, then spoke to the communications officer once more

Patch our signal through another transmitter or through one of the gunships. Try everything. We need to alert the fleet. As for the alarm, I'll take care of it.

Talena swiftly left the tent, going towards the hanger. She got in the next available transport that was deploying near the Senate building, hopefully not too far. As the transport flew, she made radio contact with Arc

The holonet is down, we got only local comns. I'm on my way to the Senate building to trigger the alarm directly. See if you can find a way to patch our transmission signal though one of our gunships, then get that gunship near the CSF fleet.

She ended the transmission, looking out the window and bit her lip. This was obviously not good

Talena was right about one thing... there was nothing good about this situation. Even as Arc responded with a simple 'understood', there was already a panic spreading among the city. The net was down, and the holo net was absolutely vital to nearly everything on Coruscant... holdups in normally smooth and flawless traffic routes became increasingly common, and it was becoming difficult to navigate to the Senate building. And when she arrived, there was a state of emergency declared, and the Senate was already beginning evacuations at once, while some still belived in a simple malfunction. Regardless, it would take nearly twice the time as normal to arrive at her destination, and by then it was nearly too late for her and the alarm.

Arc met similar opposition. It took nearly ten minutes, despite her rank to obtain a gunship, and when she did, immediatly ordered the pilot to ascend into restricted coruscant airspace, and get them up to the Fleet. She might not be able to hardwire the transmission signal... but they might be able to simple land and alert the admiral herself. By the time the gunship arrived in the hanger of the flagship Valiance, it was already too late. She failed.

((Go ahead and initiate the fleet action as you see fit, I'll response with the Republic as appropriate. Currently they are in basic patrol routine, shields down and power minimum, weapons offline... a good time to strike and strike hard at the unprepared fleet.))

((hehe, this is gonna be fun ^~^))

Out of hyperspace, the massive Separatist fleet came out of hyperspace. Over 10 gunships and countless smaller craft. Immediately, the cannons went off as a barrage of fire came raining on the unprepared CSF fleet. The gunships provided most of the firepower and cover as many smaller ships came out of the hangers, making a beeline towards the planet's surface.

...

Talena had finally reached the Senate, despite the longer time to took to get there. She had noticed that the Senate had declared a state of emergency, but none of them had actually initiated the planet-wide alarm. She cursed under her breath and broke into a run, using the Force to amp her physical abilities. She blew threw the crowd, throwing out "Excuse me", "Pardon me", "Sorry" to the many civilians she was pushing to the side. It took her another 10 minutes to reach the building's entrance. She immediately went to the nearest Senate Guard

I need to get inside and trigger the planet-wide alarm. We're about to go under a full scale invasion

(Alright, going into narrator mode ^^)

@FabulousTrash

It was morning for the far side of the planet where the Senate, the Jedi temple, the majority of the government complex's, and a large portion of the fleet resided. The orange sun was steadily climbing above the horizon, marking a new day in a global city in which activity never ended, I'm fact, perhaps only heightening in the darkness. Activity was heightened this morning in particular... the debate on the chancellor's emergency powers had come to a peak, and the Senate was due to make a decision starting midday. However even this early, many senators were already arriving to go over cases and arguments, and the plaza was filled to the brim with activity. In response, the senate building had been placed under lock down to non-senators and their assistants for security purposes. Seemingly in direct effect of this, commerce was roaring throughout the district, food, entertainment and live holo net coverage of the debates. The majority of the fleet captains and admirals, officers of all ranks were gathered in bars and saloons, just as eager to watch the debates that could decide the course of the entire war. Activity was travelling across the holo net at such rates, many reports were set aside in favor of another drink or another hour at a gentlemens club. The first stage happened in an instant across the entire planet. A planetside communications blackout as the entire holo net system collapsed. Galaxy wide calls ended, streams of the debate failed, and power flooded many major electrical power plants, sending fluctuations across the entire planetside power grid. It would be hours before the crisis could be brought under control. All communication that operated off the network was completly cut off, which had immediate effects. The global economy instantly plummeted, throwing the populous into a panic, and any immediate reaction was utterly shut down by this lack of communications. Traffic froze, and the entire grid froze to a near standstill, further preventing response from the uncoordinated authorities. The next stage happened almost as quickly. Segments of the defense grid for no apparent reason at all, blacked out, specifically, the grids over the governmental complex's. Separated from the normal power supplies, it would lie in confusion for many days after how it happened. The third stage came slightly after the second, and came as a complete surprise to the unwarned and unprepared fleet. Every known hyperspace lane was accounted for and protected by portions of the fleet, and nearly completly secure. So when dozens to hundreds of Federation ships came out of hyperspace nearly directly on top of the fleet, there was no defense. The first volley lit up the sky's above Coruscant a vibrant red as if fireworks were being deployed in honor of the Senate's debate, and a few even cheered the sight as such. The volley tore through the fleet as if the federation ships already know the exact locations of each of the Venator's. Almost instantly, over a dozen cruisers burst into balls of red hot fire, incinerated from the sheer firepower. Countless more would be shattered asunder before the star destroyers could return fire, and raise defenses. The Admiral got lucky in her survival. Out of the entire fleet, her command cruiser was always on alert, and the systems already primed, a necessity when commanding a fleet. Her ship had been among the battle group that had been trapped, and was one of the few survivors. Sarah had been in the captains chair unlike many of the other cruiser captains, monitoring the defence grid. And when she saw it's sudden glitch, she immediatly ordered her crew to battle stations, but found she could not communicate with the rest of the fleet. When the attacking force dropped out of hyperspace, hers was the first to respond efficiently. After a solid half a minute of bombardment, the 'battle' was properly joined as the remainder of the fleet underwent evasive action, and began a defence of the planet. By then however, the hundreds of smaller ships had already reached planetside, and the fleet was rapidly falling apart under the consistent barrage of confederate fire. The fleet never stood a chance.

The Senate was in uproar when Talena arrived, and no one seemed to understand what was going on. Senate guards were doing there best to keep things under control, but it was a losing battle. When Talena approached the Senate guard stationed at the entrance, the Clone in red stepped forwards stoicly. "I'm sorry commander, the building is under the complete lock down and I am not all-" a well known whining sound came from above, a whistle and then explosions as the plaza around them came under fire. Hyena class bombers flew overhead uncontested, and dropships were already descending in clear view... in moments, the ships would be unloading battle droids by the thousands. The guard, having nearly fallen from the barrage, only beckoned her inside, saying something that was lost to the wind.

Lock down this area and get all those civilians out of here!!

Talena knew that it wasnt her place to command the Senate Guard. It wasnt in her jurisdiction. But at a time like this, it only seemed logical to take command. It was also her instinct, to say the least. After shouting that one command, Talena dashed into the Senate building, running through the halls and threw out loose apologizes to those she pushed aside.

She knew where she was going and soon arrived at the control room of the Senate. The planet-wide alarm could be manually triggered by the power and heat of a lightsaber. In the wall, there was a small socket. Talena drew out her lightsaber, igniting only one of the blades, stabbing it into the key-hole. A perfect fit

The lights in the building went red and the distinct sound of the alarm could be heard all over the planet. At least, the parts of the planet that were in range

"ATTENTION CITIZENS OF CORUSCANT. THE SENATE HAS DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY CODE 012-A. IMMEDIATELY EVACUATE TO THE UNDERGROUND BUNKERS. LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS BEHIND. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL"

The dull droid-like voice continued to say those words over and over as Talena withdrew her saber, disignting it then made her way back outside to assist the Senate Guard in defending the civilians around the area

@Warhawk (sorry I took a while to respond. I've been a bit busy)
