Fandom Star Wars - Interest Check

Howdy!

Excuse the lack of code, I hate doing it and can’t be bothered.

But I am wondering if there would be any interest in a Star Wars roleplay? I would be down for any era, though would prefer The Old Republic era just for sake of lore flexibility. I can put together more of a plot if people are interested, I just don’t wanna put a bunch of work into something and not have it go anywhere.

New Era stuff would absolutely work for me as well. Lots to work with there too. I just like Old Republic because it’s kinda a blank slate.

I generally follow ‘rule of cool’. No need to stick to too closely to canon as long as things are interesting and peeps are having fun.

Sounds like a good rule to have! Are canons and/or OCs allowed? I've got a few canons I'd love to use, and an OC as well.

If there is a specific story you’re wanting to shoot for, we can always make it a 1x1 too. I’m just dying to write some Star Wars. New season of Andor has me hyped lol

I personally think a group roleplay would be more fun, but it's your interest check, after all.

A group of bounty hunters or just a more general rag tag group could absolutely work!

If we get a little more interest I’ll put together more of an idea, and I’ll try to keep it open enough to keep both OC’s and Canon’s available

I like the idea of a rag tag group of force sensitives (not necessarily force trained) from different backgrounds teaming up to like try to revive the force post Jedi purge. Would this be Legends continuity or Disney canon or mix whatever’s coolest.

Rule of cool is the way to go. As long as it’s interesting and doesn’t TOTALLY break away from the established canon, I’m just here to try and write a cool story.

We could do a ragtag group of Bounty Hunters, Force Sensitives, Rebels, etc to really give people freedom with their characters. Would we want Empire Era or Rey/First Order era? It seems like this has a decent amount of interest. If we can settle on a period I’ll try and have at least a vague story proposal tomorrow?

Personally I prefer Old Republic since doing stuff around the movie time period limits options/scope.

But if I had to choose between the original trilogy and sequel trilogy I'd prefer the Imperial Era since there's a lot of cool stuff happening.

I’ll type up a short idea for the Old Republic and the Empire Era both, and maybe we can just choose what we like most? I’m absolutely open to input or whatever. I just want to write Star Wars and have a good time.

So, I’ve got kinda a baseline idea for each prospective Era. (Excuse the meh writing from them. I’m at work and used AI to write the actual hooks lol). Let me know what you guys think or if you have suggestions.

Old Republic: The Shadow Pact

The galaxy is at war, but in the chaos, there are those who move unseen. The Republic and Sith Empire clash in an endless struggle for dominance, their battles shaping the fate of countless worlds. Yet beyond the front lines, another war is being fought—one waged in the shadows, where loyalty is fleeting and morality is a luxury.

The Shadow Pact is no ordinary crew. Composed of exiles, mercenaries, rogue force-users, and those who have turned their backs on the Republic and the Sith, they exist in the space between factions. Some seek profit, others vengeance, and a few chase secrets lost to time. Their work is dangerous, their enemies relentless, but the rewards are beyond measure.

When whispers surface of an artifact from the age of the Rakata—an object of immense power that could tip the balance of the war—every major faction takes notice. Jedi, Sith, and warlords alike will stop at nothing to claim it. For the Shadow Pact, the artifact represents something greater than a payday: a chance to shape the future on their own terms. From war-torn battlefields to the lawless depths of the Outer Rim, their pursuit will take them across the stars. But power is never without consequence, and in a galaxy defined by conflict, every choice comes with a cost.

Empire Era: The Crew of the Black Nova

The Jedi Order is dead. The Empire has seen to that, hunting the survivors to the edge of extinction. The few who remain live in hiding, scattered across the stars, haunted by their past and hunted by the Inquisitors. But hope is not so easily extinguished.

The Black Nova Crew is more than just a band of smugglers, mercenaries, and outlaws. Beneath their reputation as a ragtag group of misfits lies a secret purpose—one that could reignite the spark of the Jedi. Some among them are former Padawans, Knights, or even ex-Republic soldiers who once fought alongside the Jedi. Others are drifters, scoundrels, or Force-sensitives who barely understand their own abilities. Together, they are bound by a singular mission: to find the lost, protect the hunted, and rebuild what was destroyed.

Their journey will take them to forgotten Jedi temples, war-ravaged battlefields, and the criminal underworlds of the Outer Rim. They will search for hidden holocrons, lost survivors, and allies willing to stand against the Empire. But with the Inquisitors always one step behind and betrayal lurking around every corner, the question remains—can a handful of exiles truly restore the Jedi Order, or is the dream of the Republic nothing more than a relic of the past?


I tried to keep both ideas as open to whatever characters you guys might what to create. Let me know which your prefer or if maybe you’ve got an idea yourself

Still leaning towards the Empire Era one, think it fits my character better. But I could also go for the Old Republic one!

Shadow Pact allows for more variety of characters to be attempting reshape the universe. A Mandalorian could be seeking to take over the mantle of Mandalore and bring their people to new heights through swallowing the other warrior cultures. A non Jedi Force sensitive could be seeking to use the device to expand their influence to drown out the Jedi and Sith ways altogether.

With the Black Nova, it’s centered on rebuilding the Jedi order or depending on the character replace it. There’s not much for others outside of that former Republicans way of life that aren’t a trained force sensitive.

Do you guys think just the four of us will be enough? I can write an actual Story Hook or whatever for it and set up a character sheet. It’s been years since I’ve just started my own RP. I’m a little rusty lol

Putting up a character page and story hook tends to draw more people in since they can see what they'll be getting into.

I'm not sure if all of us have Discord, but I personally would really enjoy that!
