Fandom Star Trek: Warp Speed

I like the inclusion of NPC ships, good chance for the inclusion of some ideas we have. Also that Klingon academy game looks to be quite the interesting concept, will have to look it up sometime. Also also, Gorn use slow ships eh? That inspires so many tactical scenarios it's not even funny. xD

Slow, but tough. The Akira's fighters could at best harry most of their larger ships... but, that is where our tactics together come into play ;)

Pardon the intrusion, but having noticed Bardy is on board and feeling a bit nostalgic... would there perhaps be room for one more?

Ok, the first IC post is up. I wanted to include the Breakthrough warping into the system, but I found a nice spot to end on. My next post will have more setting details.

Nice post and gives an idea of what we are working towards. Interesting that you give Captain Regina red text. What do you plan for when there is communication between other sources or commanders? i.e. if Regina is to speak with Babouk? How about some simple code if you consider it necessary, such as:

Red = Federation (NPCs and the like)

Green = Gorn

Blue = Drapikxan

Purple = Klingons

Brown = Orion Pirate/Mercenaries

I played around with a few different colors for Regina's text; red wasn't even my first choice. But it was the only one (imho) that both contrasted well against white, and captured her tone. I like your color code suggestion. ( :) ) Let's not make it mandatory or anything, but I'll certainly be using it.

My next post will have the Breakthrough's crew communicating with the Drapikxan's. It should get everyone up to speed on what exactly has transpired in the Furix system.

Because everything I ever do is tied to DC comics, I'll reveal the man who inspired Commander Seung. ( :P )

I am sure we are all guilty of including references in. For instance, the Captain of the Sakura is Feardocha Edwina Lynott. Her name is a reference to her role (Feardocha being the Irish of Frederick, meaning "peaceful ruler") and history (Edwina for Lord Edward FitzGerald, an Irish revolutionary of the late 18th Century) and culture (Lynott for Phil Lynott, the lead singer of Thin Lizzy).

Woot, first IC post. I stuck to the whole color code convention just to make these uniform; because in Starfleet, if nothing else, we look damn spiffy in uniform. Now I can't wait to see Bardiel's Akira fighter carrier and get into the situation right proper. Also as an aside, @Grey , you still interested? I would love to throw as many different star-ships as we can at this. (OUO)

Nice post. I should hopefully get to post tomorrow. Been re-watching some TNG to get a feel for RPing.

Arg, sorry - going to have to bow out before I even get started. Busier month than I expected.

Have fun, folks.

My apologies everyone, but my creative time and efforts are being poured into a new world building project: https://www.rpnation.com/threads/under-the-albatross.130905/.

All of my story ideas are coming for that setting and I won't be able to juggle the two projects at once. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna shelve this RP. Thanks for helping me create this, and thanks for submitting great starships. I owe you both big time.

Ah, that's a disappointment. I didn't get the notifications from this thread earlier, for some reason. I said I'd post the first half of my IC post. The second was a flash back to the battle of Sector-001 and the lessons learnt with an IC conversation in the ready room, but there isn't much point in writing that up now.

Well, @Bone2pick thanks for getting the RP started originally. @SwiftThunder I suppose the option remains to restart the RP under a different guise if you are interested? Bone2pick, you could always join it if you have the time, perhaps it would be easier for you to find the time as a participant rather that as storyteller?

Well, it would certainly be interesting to go forth with these set-ups, but I would have no basis for storytelling in Star Trek as I wouldn't be able to do it justice. If you had an idea though @Bardiel, then I would happily give it a go.

Once again, I'd like to apologize for bailing out. Unfortunately I have a one track mind for detailed creative projects. And after my heart moved on to something else, I decided I needed to pullout as the storyteller.

Please use any and/or all of this RP's content. And I'll keep an eye out in case you relaunch this.

Well, I kind of feel bad about not keeping your heart on this, but I guess that's just something that happens.

I think a relaunch could be done. Having the Breakthough assist in the original evacuation operation could leave open the option if you want rejoin, Bone2pick.

SwiftThunder, do you have another ideas on what you would like to modify and/or would you be okay with me relaunching this publicly in the future to see if we could get another person or two to join?

I would be absolutely fine with it being relaunched publicly to attract some new people. As to anything to modify, if it is intended to keep it exact to the plot as it already stands, then I don't have much in the way of modifications. However, should we ever go progress beyond the evacuation mission, or we want to start over with a new plot, then I will be happy to start thinking of some ideas to throw out.

Without going into specifics and potentially ruining peoples enjoyment, having an initial prelude chapter of an evacuation mission is a good idea to get players together. From there, expansion into a larger campaign could be developed, with characters acting solo or combining. I have some ideas on how that could work, and giving some different avenues for players to explore or niches to focus on (strategic, tactical or political).

Well, if you ever want to start a PM regarding the plot, I'll do my up-most to try and assist with it if you want any feedback or the like. Either way, I am game.
