This might be a silly question but what are we talking about in “special characteristics“ for a species?

Well, whatever makes them special in comparison to humans, if putting it like this helps. Are they physically stronger or faster? Can they see better in the dark?

Or their special abilities, if they have any. Of course, we tend to be as realistic as possible, so no magic, but as an example, there was a species that we had in the past that was able to hold their breath for very long periods of time. Or species that can bite with venom. Or slime-like species that imitate the rough shape of other species. Anything that would be special to them.

I only made a character, so I can only get so deep. That being said, I am using Nadia abstractly. She actually came from my own OC universe that has quite a few planets and setting of its own. For obvious reasons, I have not included any of that in the CS

Oh I have lots of experience pulling characters from either OC or defunct RPs and molding them into others. Spend too much time working on these things to let them collect dust.

One of my favorites was a character that actually got ported from one RP into a different RP, with an in game explanation, and was more or less aware of this fact, but not in a campy way.

I have an Adepta Sororita (Warhammer 40k) that is basically from an alternate universe of WH40k and landed in her current one from a mishap in the warp. I made her this way because my 40k knowledge on lore is not nearly as on point as a lot of other fans. This way, if I mess up details, it's on account of her not actually being from her current dimension. lol
