Fantasy St. Matthew's School for Young Royalty[Looking for New Students!]

fshlkafhalkf;lkasdjflkasdj

A Man in Love with the Sea and the Ships that Sail
Life as a modern Royal is hard, now that common folk have all the power it's exceedingly hard for a noble to do anything, their every move is restricted, generations of power snuffed out like a candle. Worst of all is schooling, every young person needs a proper schooling if they are to go anywhere in this world, royal or no. Public schooling, however, is a disgusting cesspool of knuckle dragging apes who should not be permitted to breathe the same air as nobles. In the past the only balm to this issue was the prospect of tutoring, but no longer!

In an enchanting alpine valley there exists a town right out of a fairy tale, Saint Matthew's. A majestic stone castle rises up out of the mountainside, gleaming in the crisp mountain air. This pristine and refurbished castle is in fact an academy for the young and noble, providing an environment of class in which to attend class. Outside of the walls of the castle lies a small town where the commoners live. Each and every home is built in a quaint peasant style, as though the town would be inhabited by actual commoners, except here the peasants are in fact trained employees of St. Matthew's, not the boorish types you'd find elsewhere. The town is dotted with various squares, markets, churches, and other landmarks for the enjoyment of the students, in fact the whole town is open for their recreation while not in classes.

In this academy we will provide the best in noble education for all students, including the proper arts of dancing, riding, fencing, and other time-honored skills. Any and all nobility are welcome, please apply soon!

As the sleepy sun crawled its way over the peaks and ridges of the Alps, golden rays flickered off the dewy grass of the valley, making the fields and gardens sparkle as though they had been dusted with silver and gold, making the hearts of all rising to greet the day swell with anticipation. At least, that's what the poem read. Matyas was prepared to go back to sleep. It was a frosty alpine morning and he didn't feel much swelling when he looked out at the craggy mountain walls which seemed to fence in the miniature wonderland.

To the outdoorsy young count, literary study was a terrific bore, and far from a decent way to start the morning. Somehow being a noble does not earn you the right to sleep in past seven, though early rising hadn't been a problem when his bed wasn't more than a sleeping roll or cot. He pulled at the starched collar that seemed intent on slashing his throat if he turned his neck too quickly. This was another new discomfort, though he had been wearing the noble attire for a few years now, it didn't feel as right as the rough cotton shirts, trousers, and leather boots he had grown up in. Everything was soft and silky smooth, but then starched to a cutting edge, and then everything was bound tight to make it look as though you were a walking three-piece with no substance inside. He had tried on a dress uniform once before this, it was nothing like the school uniform.

Matthias looked around the lecture hall to see if anyone else was having as rough a morning as he was. Maybe he could have a nonverbal conversation with someone who found this colorful poem as dull as he did. Or at least pull a face at some demure noble who'd start at such behavior.

Winter was paying no attention whatsoever, and was busy doodling on a piece of paper. At a first glance around, almost everyone seemed to be paying attention. At a second glance, she noticed someone looking around, no doubt finding this lecture boring as well. She sighed in irritance as her foot stepped on her dress when she shifted. Precisely why she hated wearing dresses. Perhaps she would be a skilled dancer if she didn't always have fabric getting in her way. She was holding back a huge groan, seeing as she was now unbearably bored.

Matthias locked eyes with a young lady a row or so down, she looked as irritated as she was bored, he supposed that was just the nature of the English. Those nobles always seemed to have some sort of issue, but they were pleasant enough. He stifled a smile as she turned and her dress snagged, it was nice to see that he was not the only one who was unaccustomed to the noble costumes they had to put on. He looked at her and nodded towards the front of the class, then rolled his eyes, as to say. "Quite the insufferable lecture, no?" @thebrokendoll

Dai was sitting in the back, looking out the window in boredom when a bird landed on the window sill. He tilted his head before he looked down at his notebook, took a pencil and silently sketched it down in a corner, it looked like a real life thing ready to move. When he looked up again, it was gone and he suppressed the urge to pout in disappointment. As he looked around, he noticed two students interacting and sighed, rolling his eyes as he looked back down, starting to shade the birdie. His ears were still sharp so he listened to everything around him except the lecture as he had heard it a year or two ago. He could also see pretty much everything from the corner of his purple and orange-yellow eyes.

Quinn, walked into english class. Late. Due to her brother's and Sister's pestering. She didnt like the uniform she had to wear. She walked to the teacher. "Sorry i am late, Traveling difficulties." She mumbled clearly tired, and annoyed. She waited for instructions and a place to sit. @Cunning Commander

Matthias read the young lady's lips and nodded in agreement, it would be preferable to be out in the cold and frost than stuck in here. Here tapped his wrist as though he were wearing a watch, then mimed sipping from a cup while mouth coffee, to say "After this, would you like to get a cup of coffee?" @thebrokendoll

The teacher looked up from his lectern and rubbed his eyes, pulled out of the, apparently, entrancing poem. He focused at last on the latecomer, and breathed a heavy sigh. "Well, miss, I cannot condone your tardiness, but I suppose you may take a seat..." His eyes scanned the rows of students. "There." He pointed at Matyas and checked his name on the Roster. "Count Tepes, would you please help the young Countess to the seat beside you?"

Matyas barely registered upon hearing the newcomer, but eventually glanced over in a small panic at hearing his noble title. He stood and pulled out the chair for the young noble and waited for her to be seated. @LilyannaGaming

Curtsying to the teacher. She walked over and took her seat gently. Blushing wildly. not use to this. I CAN TAKE MY OWN SEAT. Her brain scattered, to her mare rebel side. She placed her books in front of her. "Thank you," Was all she managed to say without getting embarrssed by being a social outcast.

Winter barely had time to register what Matthias had said, and mouth, "Sure," with a small smile. She then glanced at the latecomer, and offered a small smile.

The only bad side to coffee with Matthias was that listening to the poem was now impossible. She rather liked coffee, almost more than tea. Quite unusual for a person from the English countries.

As he watched the scene slowly progress, the raven-haired teen snorted audibly, unintentionally stopping the teacher from getting back to lecturing. It felt obsurd to him, to pull a woman's seat so she could sit down. Any woman, unless crippled, was more than able to pull her own chair out a bit and sit down. "So boring.." He muttered, casually packing up his things and slinging his bag over his shoulder before he got up, shoved his free hand in his pocket and started to gracefully, even for a boy, move towards the door. "Pardon me" He said, obviously laced with sarcasm. @Cunning Commander

Andor stood just off the door to the Literary studies classroom, back pressed against the wall. If he went in, he'd have to face him. If he didn't go in, he won. He layed his fingertips over the flesh around his right eye. Sore and already tender to the touch. He'd thought the sons of the Gentil would have been above this. And his own country man? He sniffs. He hates this place. He hates this whole situation. He can barely breathe through this collar, even if he kinda enjoyed looking...regal as a kid like him could. Regal? That's right. Chin up.

The likely Crown Prince of Norway carefully stepped into the room, looking respectfully over towards the professor."My apologies, honestly professor. I ran into some trouble on my way to class." Before sending a meaningful gaze at the son of Duke Atre of Norway. Jerk. Andor's lip quivered for a second, and Atre's mouth turned to a subtle smile, upsetting Andor further. What he wouldn't do for a few inches of height.

The young prince watched as tardy teens walked into the class and tilted his head before he scoffed. He didn't miss the little tension between the blue-haired midget and some other guy. "Bullying already present, huh.." He muttered as he brushed past the smaller teen and towards the door. @Deadeyelee

(No one yet seemed to notice a student packing his things and getting up and walking towards the door ._. )

Timothy knew he was late. God he didn't mean to be. He knew he'd be in great trouble once he made it. What a great way to start the day. He let a sigh pass his lips. He had brought his slip which was an apology note for his tardiness and that he'd stay after class if it was needed to be. His steps crossed the pavement until he finally made it. He rushed to the outside door of the class.

He walked in and blushed nervously. He looked at his professor and held a note to him. "I-I'm sorry! It won't happen again I promise!"

Winter noticed another boy come in, who seemed quite nervous. She smiled comfortingly at him and mouthed, "Hello." She smiled again, then glanced at the professor, not really wanting to be told off right now.

@solicitude

Timothy sighed and sat next to who had talked to him. He smiled, feeling everything will turn out fine. He waved at her. "Hello there!" He said, smiling.

Winter smiled back politely, then said, "Hello, my name is Winter. It's a pleasure to meet you. What's your name?" This guy seems nice, she thought, as she smiled warmly ay him.

Andor sunk sullenly into a seat. He was no good at this. Everyone in here was so...dignified. It was hardly fair. He looked a child among dignitaries. They even had the confidence to blatantly skip out of class as they pleased. Such audacity was completely foriegn to him.

While waiting for the English class to end so he could head off to the next one in hopes of it being more interesting, he walked outside and sat down in the grass under a tree, pulling out his phone and plugging in his headphones before he put them on his head. He turned on the music, letting out a soft hum as he started to relax, a soft yawn leaving him.

Timothy smiled. "I'm Timothy. It's nice to meet you." He said happily. He liked meeting new people. As well as he liked making friends.

Winter smiled, and said, "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Timothy. If I may ask, what country are you from? I myself am from the UK, but if you don't want to tell me, it's alright."

@solicitude

Valentian sigh as enter the room like a male and look at everyone "HEYO! names Prince Severux" Valentina said as she wave her hand "Prince of Russia" she said as she cross her arms together as she look around and smile and sit down at the table and place her legs in the table its been a long run since she to school and this is a new one might just get a little bit fun with everyone as she yawn and look at the teacher while sitting in un mannerd way.

@Everyone @anyone?

The whole class was becoming an uncontrollable mess, new students were coming and going with little to no decorum, and the fringes of the hall began to echo with the sounds of idle conversation. It would appear that though these teenagers were nobility, they were still teenagers. As the conversations mounted louder, Matyas saw little point in remaining in the class any longer. He would excuse himself from the room and go to the stables, there he would take a much deserved nap next to one of the schools many mares, they were friendly horses, and no one would ever look for him in a pile of hay.

As Matyas mounted the stairs up to the doors, he found that it took a great deal of effort to pull one leg up over each step, and by the time he had reached the doors of the lecture hall he was thoroughly winded. It was very strange, he was very athletic, a simple flight of stairs should not have made him feel so... weak. He attempted to turn the corner out of the room, only to feel weaker than before, his feet slipping out from under him, Matyas tried to steady himself in the doorframe, he slid down to the floor, breathing heavily.

Suddenly his mouth was filled with an unmistakable taste, a taste of iron and salt, the taste of blood. The edges of his vision grew darker and darker as the world tunneled around him, his senses then tumbled and whirled as the ever-fading world spun like a demonic carnival ride. His mind whirled in the panic, trying to make sense of what was going on, with the last scrapings of his consciousness he thought to the collar of the uniform shirt, the way it seemed to cut and prick at his skin. He grabbed at his neck, but his fingers were as heavy as railroad spikes. He collapsed in the threshold, the last hazy wisps of intelligence slipping from his mind, he came to one last revelation. There was someone out there who wished to do royals harm, and that someone was inside the academy. Then everything went cold and dark.

Dai, getting progressively bored, had turned his music off and headed back inside to explore. He had paused though, seeing a male student on the floor. It was a guy from his class but he didn't know his name. Frowning softly, he stepped over and crouched down, pressing a finger to his neck to check the pulse after he undid a few of the clips to release pressure off his neck.

Looking around, he frowned. He couldn't exactly leave the guy alone and get help, someone could kill him or something. Taking a soft breath, but a deep one, he shouted out, wondering if anyone would hear him. "HELP! SOMEONE HELP - A STUDENT COLLAPSED" Coughing after that, he rubbed his throat, never in his life had he needed to scream purposely and by choice.
