We all know the lyrics to the classical song, of course...

Spooky scary sto-ories,

Send shivers down your spine...

So, got any ? Not the [insert campfire story here] type story, but real ones. Things you experienced. Seen a shadow of a man while you were alone in the house ? Heard a baby cry in the dead of night coming from under your bead ? See dead people all the time ? Please, scare the shit outta me.

And please don't make up shit. Just speak from personal experience.

There's really only one I can think of. It was when I was five years old, I had a dream that started off normally (I don't remember what exactly the dream was about, only the ending) and continued to be normal up until I climbed into my bed to fall asleep in my dream.

Then I heard something beeping, and a light flashing. It was a Simon Says game we kept in our room, sitting on the floor. It continued beeping, slowly getting faster, until everything flashed white, and I woke up (In the real world) laying on my back dead-center in the hallway. We're pretty sure I was just sleepwalking at the time, but for like the next year and a half I was convinced the Simon Says game teleported me there.

That's really the only true 'Scary story' I have xD

Was it a portkey ???

I don't have one myself, but I know people who do, including my mam. And when I say "my mam", I mean stories including the house I'm in right now. Also my aunt's husband. Same building, different apartments. Footsteps in the hall. Keys. Plastic bags. Keys being unlocked. But each time, nobody was there.

There's also another one. Even more horrifying.

I posted it somewhere; I'll throw it on here once I find it.

Okay, I'll tell you kiddos two stories, one fake, the other supposedly true. The observer can assess, and figure out which is which, however, I shan't bore you any longer. Prepare to hear spooky stories.

Survival

On my various adventures to possibly risky countries, the most effective one was my brief stay at India, where I hiked through the many insect-infested jungles, names undisclosed for anonymity. On my adventure, I found myself having strayed away from the main path, lost, with the only hopes of ever being found as a rotting corpse. My mind raced through numerous possibilities, one of them included eating as much of the exotic, unknown plants in hopes of receiving sustenance, and a cocktail of various poison. Death by poison is always better than starvation, aren't I right? Better go away in a pool of bloody vomit, than getting eaten by a carnivore or something. However, the illogical, senseless side of my brain soon compelled to ditch that idea, only for a new one, concerning auto-cannibalism to pop up, and get shot down by the
logical side of my brain.

Nevertheless, time was running short, and so was the very chronology that now dictated my life.

What followed next was something stranger than fiction, but whether it was a hallucination triggered by then delusional state, or by a ghastly ghost, is a matter up for debate. I tried to locate my path again, but each run only ended in failure, as I often just seemed to run in circles. I eventually gave up, only to hear a loud shriek. Inhumane in nature, and all too terrifyingly uncanny. I was perturbed by the sudden presence of the sound, and starting towards the contradictory position from where the sound came from. Although, Saud sound could've just been from a shrieking, batty, rabies inflicted monkey, that wasn't something my mind processed during that time.

I, later found a beat-up path, indicating common usage. Only after three hours, was when I finally got a clear recognition of my position, and this was one of the only situation where I was actually quite scared. Nevertheless, I found myself dubbing the incident as extraordinarily strange in nature, although I've almost always been a very sceptical man.

Irksome

I was fazed by the recent, exceptionally supernatural incidents. Most of which occurred in my home, my very home which I've so fostered with care, and this was indeed, the very thing that betrayed me.

I, at first, thought I was going crazy. With the unexplainable silhouettes appearing during my vast focus in peripheral visionary. And the thing that irked me the most, aside from random audible footsteps, was my mother calling my name from other, more distant rooms.

My mother doesn't live with me.

Here's a pretty scary story: The story of how I almost died. This is from the eyes of my father, as I was only 2 years old when it happened.

It was a normal summer afternoon. I was with my family, watching television and all that good stuff. I was a heavy eater, even at that age, and I ate stuff that probably shouldn't be fed to toddlers. In this story, i was eating chips (don't ask why).

So, I sat and ate my chips and everything was going fine, until something bad happened. All of a sudden, while I was eating the chips, one of them got stuck. As a result, surprise surprise, I started choking.

My parents stated to freak out over the situation. Luckily, my father is a doctor, and quickly was able to get the lodged chip out of my throat. Apparently it was a pretty close call, too.

So there you have it. The story of my near-fatal experience with chips. Afterwards, I was not allowed to eat chips for the following 4 or so years.

But no, really.

When I was a kid, my grandmother lost her house for some reason. She had to move to a different place, and every time I went over there, I had the creeps. It was one of those side residential areas that people didn't go down too often. The house was painted all white--it was very tacky from what I remember. It didn't even seem like the previous owners even cared because the paint looked like it was just doused on everything from the walls to the cabinets. I think the floor was... tile? I don't quite remember. But the backyard was HUGE. But... well... dead. Nothing growed. There was a half dead tree off to the side, but the entire yard was just one giant mudball. However, on the side of the house the wooden fence was broken, revealing a chain-link fence that divided our yard from the neighbor's. I don't think anyone actually lived in the house next door. From what I understood, it was abandoned. It was all overgrown with ivy and other kinds of plants, and all you could really see was an old gold-colored car stranded in the backyard. It gave me the creeps.

First, the place just gave me weird vibes. Some of my cousins and my childhood friend would joke that someone was murdered there. I always refused to say I was superstitious, but I'm super superstitious. So if there was a murder, the spirit was still probably there. It didn't help that occasionally when I looked outside that car would have it's door completely open but when I look back after turning away for a second, the door would be shut. No sound, nothing. It was creepy.

Sometimes I thought I would see things in the corners of my eyes. I thought they might be bugs, but, really, it might have been too big to be a bug.

Then, almost every other night for half a year I would have the same nightmare. The white house would be painted with acid pinks and greens. I would run through the house looking for my family, calling and crying for them because I knew something was wrong. I would keep crying that we all needed to get out before the house devoured us. And then when I got to the living room, the floor opened up like a hole with quicksand. Except this quicksand pit had teeth. And was evil. Now because my family was still inside, I had to do something to protect them from the people-eating house. So I ran outside to grab a hose and for some reason, hosing it down like a firefighter made it retreat. Well, for a short while. Somehow it caught onto the hose and started to drag me inside. I remember my nails digging into the mud, but couldn't get any kind of grip. I would wake up every time right before it killed me.

The nightmares instantly stopped as soon as my grandmother moved out of the house.

Other than that, occasionally I'll have precognitions about my friends and family. For some reason someone I know will pop into my head, and I'll start to worry about them to the point where I induce a panic attack. Last time that happened, I had a nightmare that my best friend's son died on the couch while she was sitting at her computer. I woke up that morning, woke her up, and told her to call an ambulance for her son. I left for some reason. Maybe to take out trash or to catch my breath. But when I came back, she told me to call an ambulance because he had five seizures in ten minutes (he had a seizure condition since birth, but it hadn't been that bad in a long time). After that, he was in and out of the hospital for months and went through a brain surgery. As far as I know, the kid's alright now with seizures here and there. But he's grown and progressed a lot. It was scary though, because I truly felt that he could have died that day if I didn't have that nightmare.

Yeah I got one. So this house that I live in is basically legit haunted. My parents don't believe me nor my brother. So anyways one night, my cousins and I like to star gaze and this was at 3 in the morning. While stargazing and chatting, my brother's room light suddenly gets a bit brighter and nobody is in there because we have a perfect view of the room and the door was opened as well as the light was on. (Those dimming lights) suddenly this shadow figure of a person shows up all creepy looking looks like he's lifting up the window. Now you might say I was under the influence or something but I wasn't. My cousins even saw jaw dropped. The shadow faded within a few seconds and everyone just stood there baffled looking at one anothet tripping out. We just decided to run inside and hang out in the kitchen for the rest of the night. What's worse is there are more spooky stories that happen in this damn house.

I used to sleep talk and walk when I was a child, so like between the ages of 4 and 7. I didn't actually understand what was happening and for the most part I thought my mom was moving me at night. But apparently I would get out of bed, completely asleep, and walk around. Sometimes I would stand by my sibling's beds and stare down at them for awhile, before going back to my own bed. Sometimes I would crawl into bed with them without saying a word. It might be genetic because I think my eldest brother would do it too, like sleep walk to the kitchen and open the refrigerator and stuff. But because I was small I would be constantly freaking my brothers out.

One night we were all sleeping in my mom's giant bed. I sit up in the middle of the night point at the windows across the room and start yelling, "He's coming! He's coming! He's coming". Like this obviously wakes everyone up and I do that a couple more times before just lying back down as if nothing happened. To this day I have no idea what could have caused me to do that. Like I guess a nightmare but I was super small and I don't remember it at all, not that I remembered any sleepwalking/talking to begin with.

Now I'm pretty sure I've stopped sleepwalking. I live with people so they would certainly tell me if I was walking around doing creepy stuff at night, but there was one time that scared the crap out of me. It was my first year of college and I was living alone in a dorm. I loved it because it meant I didn't have a roommate to bother or vice versa. But one night I set my alarm on my phone and placed it across the room to make sure I would have to get up to get it. I go to sleep and when my alarm goes off it's under my pillow. I had no recollection of having gotten it in the middle of the night. The other thing is that my bed was about six feet off the ground because it was set up like a bunk bed without the bottom bunk. Which means sleep walking I had to swing myself off my bed without falling grab my phone and get back up without waking myself up. It scared me so much because if I could do all that asleep what the fuck else could I do and not remember!

Hoho, nothing really special here, its just a regular ghost sighting.

So one night, I remember I was kinda sick. I slept in m room where my bed is near one wall of the  room with a orange light on. So I was on my bed, while facing an opposite wall of the room which is mostly blank, just a white wall, my room was quite empty then.

And while I was casually looking around, I happen to see a shadow, if I could remember it clearly, itsa silhouette looking like a men with only upper half of his body, projected on the wall. The shadow was hovering high, near the ceiling.

Well, I am mostly just confused when I saw the weird shadow,it was weird and I thought it was my shadow when I saw it, so I got up from the bed and move my body around, and of course the shadow stayed there looking weird. Shortly, when  I started to move around, waving my hand just to check when staring at the shadow, it started to move, not how i was moving, but it move across the room. The shadow of the man with only the upper part of his body slowly shifted to the right which s towards the big window of my room.

When the shadow reached the window, where the white wall ends, the shadow, of course, disappeared.

I was like, Whaaaat? I don't really know what happened for a split second after all of that happen, then after a while I was like, "Oh...so I just saw a ghost......"

And I can't sleep for the whole night.

When was in middle school, one of my teacher, claimed that she is borne with her third eye chakra opened, so she often saw spiritual entity and even can communicate with them. The teacher told us tones of her story, how she often saw human spirit, some of t even involve the spirit asking her to "share" room with her, pretty wild. The teaches eventually asked the priest to help her to bless her and end her bothering ability.

In one particular story, the teacher mention she once saw a hovering human spirit outside of her window, and described the spirit as a hovering spirit with only the upper part of its body visible. It matches perfectly with what I saw, which further convinced me what I saw was not an illusion.

Also, I do some googling after this, and it also matches what I saw.

  • Partial apparitions: In some cases, people may report seeing only part of a person, such as an upper body, an arm, or a face. According to ASSAP, these types of sightings are rare.
  • Shadow people: These shadowy figures take human form, but are often only several feet tall. They do not have discernible features or faces and appear as black humanoid figures in haunted locations. Shadow people tend to have a density that appears to be heavier than objects around them.
