Orphaned from a young age he was always alone in his family’s mansion. Blank's life, was... unfortunate. To begin, his family maintained a family of servants from a once noble black smithing family. Mr. Cross and even his father kept this family close even before the world fell into itself the Marshall family served and even protected the name Cross. Blank had grown up with Fiona, always playing in their yard. Oblivious to his past Blank continued playing until Fi was unable to play anymore. Blank lost his only friend to work and he was unable to do anything without her. Blank has always had everything taken from him, or so he felt. His mother, his father and now his only friend. Blank confronted Mr. Marshall about his parents and why he had never met them. His answer was simple in that he didn’t know where they disappeared to,”Somewhere off in the caverns they were.” The blacksmith told him. Blank began going out into the caverns looking for his parents coming back each time soaked in blood and scared from a new cut or smashed bone he managed to receive.

Blank was alone for a while, going into the caverns beginning to forget why he began in the first place. Coming back bloody and within an inch of his life he just kept to himself until he was feeling well enough to leave again to fight the creatures that dwell in the surrounding areas in the caverns. Blank eventually stumbled across (Second in command) , in the midst of the town and the only one to stop and help Blank as he laid in the center of town bleeding out. After Blank was saved by this .... and taken back to his home, he invited her to live with him in his mansion so that she may help him whenever he was bloody or broken again, so he didn’t have to trouble the Marshall family who at this point was helping supply weapons to the local government to help pay for the land they now took care of almost for free. Blank often saw Fi taking out coals from the furnace, making quick eye contact he was just turn throwing his sword over his shoulder and leaving again. Blythe was always with Blank from that day, the only communication he had with the Marshalls was to mend his blade, or to make him a new one. One day he had left expecting his life to end that day, but there was a very low number of monsters around. Exploring by himself in the caverns he went deeper than ever before. In the darkest depths of the caverns Blank came to a large opening where he could see the slightest glimmer of light. Looking up the ceiling and down across the wall he saw what appeared to be a path leading up to the surface. Looking up to the light Blank falls to his knees and screams out as loud as possible. “I finally have somewhere to go!”

Suddenly Blank was blind sided by a quick moving flash. Out of no where he was on the ground and his right ribs felt like they were broken. Looking around he saw a blue horned beast, almost like a ram, standing on two feet readying to charge again. Blank stood as fast as he could and ran away from where he was attacked. He was hit again feeling his left shoulder pop out of place making an obscenely large noise. Blank still ran away as fast as he could trying to escape the beast. Once he was in the shadows of the cavern again the best would not cross over, it stayed in the light breathing heavily staring at Blank with it’s crimson eyes, letting out a breath and turning around and leaving him. Blank confused and now unable to fight limped back to the town as well as he could, and with the the town in sight, “I will rest... I will become stronger... I will make it to the surface.” he said to himself holding his dislocated shoulder. Blank looked up to see (Second in command) standing there at the usual meeting point. As their eyes met, Blank fell unconscious on the ground.

Name: Charles Rockbell (Played by Caldwell)

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Main skill: Agility

Secondary skill:
Medic Arts

Third skill:
Elementals

Fourth skill:
Thievery

Personality:
An incredibly timid young fellow, Charles has no self confidence and therefore lacks any type of decision making for others, making him a follower. Although prides himself within his books, he tends to do work for others because it's commonly known he is a pushover. Doesn't act his age and contains the innocence of a child, however can be very mature in certain situations.

Spirit type:
Water

History:
For as long as he could remember, Charles had been in the town orphanage. He, being as naive as he was, didn't resent or take offense to this at all. He figured he would one day be taken in by a family that would be kind and caring, which never came. Often picked on by the kids his age, he was bullied into performing their chores, causing his physical prowess to surpass that of others.

As he got older, and the other children began leaving the orphanage, Charles began working at the orphanage part time, caring for the younger children. To the younger children, he became an older brother, and to him they became a reason for him to continue on.

At the age of 16, he heard of schools that accepted the rich children that were already well read and prestigious. Deciding to change himself and make something of his timid life, he began studying and learning from the older people of time, acquiring every possible book. He soon became far more knowledgable than the other children, however was denied access to the schools due to being a orphan runt.

Choosing to be optimistic rather than sad, Charles continued studying, until one day he found a book on the history of the Earth before the split, and was instantly moved by the nature that supposedly surrounded the lands outside of the caverns. Deciding he wanted to see that world for himself, he began working more jobs to raise money for supplies and trained his skills further, so that one day he could see the wide blue sky for himself.

Looks:
Charles has blonde hair that reaches out past his shoulder, in a wavy kind of sense. With a clear pale complexion and timid mannerisms, he is often called a girl and feminine, which he finds highly offensive. With bright green eyes and standing at 5'8, he gives off the impression he's much younger than what he appears. Constantly wears a loose white collared shirt and straight black pants, which is covered by a green apron he wears for his orphanage job.

Other:
Has no specific job to fight, and therefore takes the more supporting roles.

Name: Lyson Samsāra

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Main skill: Elementals

Secondary skill: Agility

Third skill: Thievery

Fourth skill: Illusion/Space

Personality: A fine fellow. Dark, yet very generous and helpful. Can be very sadistic if he so chooses. Very calm in the face of danger.

Spirit type: Shadow, Light, Ghost. (or Ethereal Twilight as Flare dubbed it.)

History: Lyson came from a poverty stricken family in a town that was never given the honor of a name. But even his family was in more of a poverty than one might expect in such a town. Around the age of three, the house in which they lived had caught fire. Some of the monks from the nearby temple happened to be near and came to the rescue. They managed to save most of the house but it was still badly damaged.

Lyson’s family thanked the monks so much but could not think of anything to repay them. The monks left and the family thought and thought of something to repay them. It seemed that everyone was nicer to Lyson that night, for he was unaware of their decision. The next day, the family made their way to the shrine.

Lyson’s mother sat down with the head monk and bowed her head to the floor. Lyson couldn’t hear what his mother was saying, but she was obviously crying. After they got up his mother walked over to Lyson with tears in her eyes; hugged him tightly and left with the rest of the family. Lyson tried to run towards them but the head monk had grabbed his arm and just shook his head at the boy. He came to realize that he, the young boy, had been the payment.

Lyson spent almost the rest of his life with the monks. Learning their ways of meditation, heightened senses, and calm of mind. Lyson never could get a hold of the martial arts that they tried to drill into him, so instead the monks gave him the option to self meditate in the surrounding areas everyday. During this time Lyson would eventually come across two small children playing near the property of a wealthy family. He decided to meditate out of sight and watch them as he never had the opportunity to play and he found enjoyment while watching these two have their fun.

He later learned their names by listening to them speak to each other. Neither of them aware he was nearby. One time he decided to try something different and find another place to meditate where he couldn’t get distracted. While searching, he came across some peculiar caverns with crystals imbedded upon the walls. He felt a strange power from the crystals and decided to meditate upon them. When he returned to the temple that day the monks were gathered at the gate. Lyson looked confused as he approached them.

The monk gave him a look of disapproval and pointed back towards the neighboring forest. He explained that by entering that cavern, that Lyson had started a path in which he could no longer return to the one he was on. Lyson understood what the head monk meant. Lyson could feel a strange power inside of himself just like the one he felt about the crystals. The monks gave him the basic supplies he would need to survive and turned him away. Unable to return ever again. Lyson decided to spend the next few years mastering his sneaking and spying skills by watching the two young children; getting closer to where they were everyday. He spent his other free time meditating within the caverns and learning how to control the powers of the crystals. When he heard that the two children he watched grow up, wanted to leave the caverns, he felt like he was obligated to watch over them and see just how far they could go.

Looks: 6’4” with dark yellow eyes. Hair is somewhat short and is such a dark brown that it almost appears black. He spends free time either meditating on his powers, sneaking about, or spying upon others. Because of his long sleeves, most people don’t get to see his hands. Due to the power of the crystals he has meditated upon, his eyes glow an eerie blue during his casting of magic.

Other: He was one of the first to enter the caverns. He found the crystals to be interesting so he meditated on their strange powers. He meditates in a full lotus position. His time with the monks (along with his meditating) gives him heightened senses to a point where people who don't know this, think he has a sixth sense.

So sorry this was so long.

Name: Fiona Marshall

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Main skill: Blacksmith

Secondary skill: Hand to hand

Third skill: Agility

Fourth skill: Medic Arts

Personality: Fi is a very dedicated person. Quiet most of the time, she concentrates on her work and focuses her efforts on the tasks before her. Fiona is a tomboy to the extreme and is often dirty and covered in the sweat and grime from her work. She thinks of it like a badge of honor, most others don’t create things as high quality as she does. She tries to prove she can take care of herself. She doesn't know how to take compliments and gets embarrassed easily. She tries to avoid confrontation with people close to her. She lashes out and snaps at people when she gets cornered because she doesn't know how else to respond. Fiona values the few people that are close to her because she doesn't have many.

Spirit type: Fire/ Earth (Metal)

History: Fiona’s family lived in a small house on the corner of the Cross property. They were the caretakers and the protectors of the family. Everything from cooking and cleaning, to making weapons and patrolling the grounds of the lone structure that stood out from the rest, was entrusted to this single family. Mrs. Marshall and Fiona’s only sister, tended to the chores inside the house while her four older brothers tended to the things outside of the house. Mr. Marshall was a dedicated blacksmith that spent hours in his forge crafting some of the best weapons the people had ever seen.

There was a somewhat happy day in the mansion when the Cross’s had a child. A son. Mrs. Marshall’s duties started to include helping to care for the baby but all seemed well, for the most part. Until the baby was one. Fiona had just been born and her mother was up late taking care of her. There was a commotion coming from the the Mansion. Peering out the window, Mrs. Marshall saw Mrs. Cross running, Mr. Cross close behind. Insisting that her husband see what was happening, the man grabbed a freshly forged sword and took off after them. The trek took him deep inside one of the crystal coated caverns. There wasn’t a person in sight. He heard the sound of a baby crying and followed it to where he found the swaddled baby lying on the stone floor. Picking up the baby he returned home and told his wife what he had found.

The Marshall’s took care of the baby and decided to raise him as best they could. They didn’t know what his name was so they dubbed him Blank until he could remember his own name. Blank and Fiona grew up together as children. They played and rough housed often, having the whole mansion and property to themselves. But when Fiona was nine, her father said she was too old to play anymore and she had to start working. So she started to work under her father and become a blacksmith, her new job bringing with it the mark of her new status. the mark of a servant branded with hot iron into the skin of her abdomen.

As she grew up, her skills with a hammer and iron and steel were exquisite and so fine tuned that within a few years she was making weapons and armor of quality that surpassed her fathers.

Since it was just Blank in the Mansion now, three of Fiona’s brother’s decided to leave and seek work elsewhere, they were no longer getting a payment. They were the first in her family to ever leave the Cross’s employment, concealing their marks to get by. Her older sister got married and left as well leaving just her parents, one brother, and Fiona there to take care of everything.

When Fiona wasn’t building and crafting things, she practiced her own fighting. Nothing with swords, but she made her own heavy bags and things to work with. She liked being able to stand up for herself and not feel like a defenseless woman.

Fiona always watched as Blank would sneak out and disappear, coming back beaten and bloody. Training, always training. It made her sad thinking about how close they used to be, how many secrets they used to share. She wondered if they could ever get back to that, but right now he hardly ever spoke to her, let alone looked at her. The only time he ever came near her anymore was when he needed his sword fixed. He was the only friend she ever had, she’d do anything for him if he’d ask. She just wish he'd ask from more than a fixed blade.

Looks: On the short side, only 5'2". Thin golden toned hair she keeps tied back in two braids. Hazel eyes are big and her most expressive asset. She is a well rounded woman and has always taken care of herself. Physically fit she has a body of lean well toned muscles many would envy, but she earned them from her long labored hours of work. She has a large scar on her lower abs, the left side, just above the hip bone, the Cross family crest. She has numerous other scars, burns and gashes from her metal work. Fiona wears baggy clothes, and layers them often, afraid of people seeing the large scars on her. The only one she can't cover up is a large one that wraps around the back of her hand. The young woman is often covered in soot and dirt, results of working hard in her forge and crafting things, so her cloths are almost always torn and dirty.

Other: She has a bright yellow crystal necklace. It was a gift from Blank when they were children. Her family couldn't afford gifts so she was shocked by the gesture, and the simple present made her happier than anything else. It is her most valued possession and she never takes it off, it is always hidden under her shirts though.
