Max smirked some and pressed herself into him a little bit "Mmm you get to have anything." She said letting her hand fall under the covers before she kissed him lovingly. She hadn't had any kind of touch since he left and she was craving it just as much as he was

He smiled and kissed her back hoping they could get away with something there but it was only a couple minutes later that he started feeling pain going through his chest to his back and down his body from his heart racing too much out of excitement and his monitors started sounding off alarms while he lay back trying to catch his breath

Max went wide eyed and quickly pulled away from him "Babe babe you have to calm down its okay." she whispered kissing the top of his head hoping she could help get him get his heart rate down.

He grunted a little and began shaking as he couldn’t catch his breath or calm himself down just watching her. “I can’t... something ... something tore.” He grunted. He’d felt it. Something in his chest when it started to hurt it was because something had ripped. The Color was draining from his face before her very eyes as doctors piled in.

Max cried shaking her head some, this was all her fault, she knew it. She quickly moved out of the room as they rushed him out

Carmen woke up in the middle of the night to Abi crying and screaming at the top of her lungs so she got up and went to tend to her. “Oh baby girl I know it’s no fun waking up alone is it?” She murmured to her. “I wish your sister had survived to keep you company.” She whispered to her not knowing Charlie was watching them.

Jon groaned as they explained to him what was happening to him before they put him under and let them take him through to hopefully fix the damage.

His nurse stayed back and explained to max that there had been a tear at the base of his aortic artery but they were hoping that they had acted quickly enough to keep him stable.

Charlie woke up hearing Abi and quickly went to check on her. He stopped at the door when he saw Carmen and gave a quiet sigh hearing what she had said. It killed him to know that one of them didn't make it, but he knew thats how things were sometimes. However what hurt him the most was not knowing what happened to her afterwards.

Max gave a small nod and whimpered softly letting a few tears fall "May I see him?" she asked quietly

Carmen sat down in the rocking chair to feed her and gently positioned her while she held her tiny hand, glancing over at Charlie. “Hey.... do you know why I didn’t want you to talk to Tom about what’s going on? Why I don’t think he has any right to know?” She asked him quietly.

“As soon as you can we will let you know.” She explained then left her to it while Lana came back with Dean.

Charlie frowned more and went to sit down by her placing a hand on her knee in a comforting way "No...babe I wasn't told anything about our children on the inside, just that we lost one." he said quietly letting a few tears fall as he watched her.

Max nodded softly and took her son into her arms when she saw Lana "He....something tore in his chest." she explained quietly

Carmen frowned and shook her head some. “He uh.... he thought he was helping but he should have stayed out of it. When I was still sick, before I’d even had a chance to meet Abi, he authorised for her to be cremated.” She whispered “he thought it was what we would want.” She muttered, “then a few weeks before they sent you home... I guess he decided that ... well I don’t know what he was thinking or what his plan was but he kissed me... and I told him to get out and not come back.” She explained to him. “He’s no longer welcome in our lives and frankly he can’t transfer back to the city fast enough.”


Lana just nodded and frowned bouncing Dean a little. “Is he gonna be okay?” She asked her quietly. She knew he was hurt but she also knew that if he made it through this he could go home and they could be a family again properly.

Charlie felt his heart shatter at the news shaking his head some "That son of a bitch." He muttered taking deep breaths to keep his anger down as well about to situation "I'm so sorry...this is all my fault, if I had been there...if I hadn't been so fucking stupid." He muttered

Max gave a small nod taking Dean from her and bouncing him gently "Im hoping so, but I think it'll be okay." She told her hopefully kissing the top of her son's head

She just nodded and gently pulled abi away, burping her then getting her back to sleep in her crib before heading back to bed with Charlie holding onto him tightly. “I don’t care what happened before. I care that you’re home and I have you now.” She murmured.

Jon was taken back to the same room as before a few hours later and his doctor explained everything to max before leaving them to it, letting them know he would wake up in the morning.

Charlie stood in the kitxhen glancing over the paper for job listings while he heated up a bottle for Abi. It hadn't been an easy month but he was getting by thankfully. He had been working a few odd jobs here and there, mowing a lawn or helping paint a house, but nothing he could find that was solid. He sighed as the bottle heater dinged at him and quickly took it out before he went to get Abi smiling happily at his baby girl as she lay contently in her little lounger chair they had.

Max sat in the dance studio with Dean next to her smiling happily as she cooed at him "Yes yes Mommy loves you sooo much." She murmured glancing at Jon as he ate giving him a wide smile. They had come by to have lunch with her and she was over the moon happy about seeing the two of them. Jon had been so mucj better since he got home and she could tell he was slowly turning back into the man she had fallen in love with.

Carmen wandered downstairs a short while later rubbing at her face. She was only getting worse but she knew this would happen. Like it did last time and all she could do was hope that the treatment was all working. “Morning... sorry about last night. I didn’t mean to keep you up.” She mumbled. She’d been throwing up from 9pm all the way through to four in the morning and so Charlie had had to do all the night time feeds for Abi. “How is job hunting going?”

Jon looked over at them to see they were both staring at him and he chuckled a bit. “Can I help you? I did offer to get you some food but you said no so don’t you go taking mine.” He winked at max and smiled w little. “So after this we are walking home and I thought I would get the big pool set up for Lana to bring her friends over today.” He told her.

Charlie held the bottle for Abi while he looked over the papers. He looked at Carmen as she came downstairs and shook his head "Don't worry about it babe." He murmured kissing her cheek gently as she came by him "Its alright, got a few I'll be checking out. Hardware store is hiring, I'm hoping they would take me back."

Max gave a small laugh and shook her head some "Say no daddy, we arent hungry." She cooed kissing her little man's chubby cheeks "That sounds like a great plan babe. Im sure she would love that." She said softly glancing at Dean as he grunted and strunched up his face "Uh oh...someone needs a diaper change." She murmured about to get up but Jon beat her to it "Babe I got it dont worry." She murmured but frowned when he insisted and took Dean away.

She nodded and sat down next to him, resting her head on his shoulder. “That might be good.” She murmured gently. “It’s been under new management for a while so they probably won’t even remember the time you knocked everything over with the fork lift when you weee 17.” She teased gently, “I don’t get to eat anything now until after this surgery.... my bag is all packed and ready... I still think we should leave Abi with Marie for it. She said her offer still stands.” She mumbled.

Jon nodded and got up taking him to go so it. “I’m tryna catch up on all my dad duties.” He called back to her, getting his diaper changed then took him back to max and passed him over to her, rubbing his chest “He’s gotten really good at grabbing scars and beards.” He chuckled.

Charlie gave a small nod and chuckled at the memory "Shouldve given me a crash course like they said they would." He teased but his face soon turned serious when she mentioned the surgery "...Im just worried about leaving her is all." He murmured glancing at their daughter who was happily drinking her bottle

Max frowned softly and gave a soft sigh. He had been doing this a lot as of late. Not letting her really do anything for Dean other than hold him while Jon ate or went to the restroom to do his business or shower. Hell he didn't even let her get late night wake ups anymore. At first she thought it was sweet, but she wanted to do this with him and right now she felt he was kind of pushing her out of it. She got out of her thoughts as he returned smiling as she took their son "Yeah he has decided my hair is a great pull toy."

Jon chuckled a little and nodded. “Grabbed my pacemaker the other day or st least tried to pull it. He’s strong like his momma.” He winked at her and threw his trash away then sat close to her pulling her into his arms. He was doing so much better than before and after he’d gotten really bad they’d fixed what they could but with all the damage he’d sustained over the years, he had been given a pacemaker to help keep him more stable and to give them more of a heads up when he did get bad before it could get out of control.

Carmen just nodded. “I know you are but Marie loves her just as much as she loves Dean and she smiled offered and I think rather than her be bored while you’re so distracted it’ll be easier on both of you.” She pointed out.

Max gave a small laugh shaking her head softly looking at their son "You're not supposed to do that silly." She said giggling as he squealed loudly at them with a giant smile making her let a few tears fall "We...we actually have him Jon...he made it." She whimpered

Charlie gave a heavy sigh and nodded "Yeah I guess you're right...I knew there was a reason I married you." He teased giving a small chuckle taking the bottle away as Abi finished it off "Say yes, we knew mommy was a smart one." He cooed

He nodded and kissed her head. “I was thinking:.. maybe... now that we have our son... maybe it would be safer for me to get snipped. So we don’t have to go through losing a child.” He suggested quietly.

Carmen rolled her eyes a little watching him burp her then set her in her little walker so she could get around a bit easier. “Charlie honey we aren’t married. You keep saying it but it’s just not true.” She pointed out.

Max gave a soft sigh and nodded "Yeah...I guess that would be better." She whispered giving a heavy sigh "I just...I wish we could have one more, but I know it will be too risky to try again." She murmured

Charlie smiled softly as she had her back towards him "Yeah....maybe I should change that." He said before he got down on one knee pulling out a ring and waiting for her to turn around. Once she did he smiled widely and held out the small ring to her "I know its not much but I have had it since we were teens." He said giving a small laugh remembering when he bought it at 18 hoping to some day give it to her.

She turned around to get some tea but saw him on the floor and just smiled wide, "Get up handsome.... It's about time." She murmured, pulling him up and kissing him softly, "Of course I'll marry you." She murmured gently to him. "I love you. And the ring doesn't matter, all I need is you and Abi." She murmured

Jon just nodded "I know... But we have Lana and Dean and maybe someday if it works out we could adopt... But I want you safe." He told her kissing her cheek, "Alright.. Me and little man need to go home, we will see you later. What do you want for dinner tonight?" He asked her quietly and kissed her softly.

Charlie smiled widely and kissed her lovingly before he picked her up and spun her around "I love you more than anything Carmen, I'm sorry it took me so long to ask." He murmured quietly against her lips

Max gave a small nod "Yeah, I would like that a lot." She said quietly pouting when he said it was time to go "Ooh bye my sweet little baby boy I will see you later." She cooed kissing all over his face giggling as he squealed again "Im up for anything babe,you choose."

“Oh So dean gets goodbye kisses and I don’t?” He tessed, pulling her into his arms and kissing her lovingly before leaving with him, taking him home.

Carmen smiled and held onto him tightly, kissing him back and wrapped her legs around his waist giggling. “I love you too Charlie.... soon as I’m better we start planning and saving. We don’t need anything fancy. Just something real simple will work for us I think.” She murmured and kissed him again. “Mmm.... my fiancé.”
