  A

  bout 150 years ago this town was nothing more then a few small homes where freed slaves worked on nearby plantations. When the Michels, Heberts, Blackwells, and [open supernatural family] arrived all that slowly began to change. The four founding families decided to build up this town into something special. A safe haven for their families and those like them that needed a safe place to live in this country. Some of the original towns people left due to the unusual nature of the four families, but some decided to stay and help. They were never able to put their finger on what made them so different other then just having "weird" quirks.
  
  As the town grew, so did the four families wealth and influence. Sure the human families who decided to stay grew as well, but they could never quite gain as much control as the four. Due to natural supernatural tension, as well as the drive to become more powerful the families that once worked in harmony to build the town started having conflict. Never enough for them to declare all out war, but lots of shade has been thrown over the years. They also still have one common "enemy" and that's the humans. Some families trust the humans more then others, some select individuals from families trust them more then others, and some actually like the humans who've stood by them. However the rule that still remains is to always keep the secret. The only humans who know are ones who have joined a family, and they are sworn to keep it from their birth family.
  
  The town still serves as a safe haven for the supernatural, but it seems the new and old generations in all the families are starting to clash. Will they be able to keep their secret from the humans forever? Have times truly changed?   The Genasi Family: This family is the decedents of the mixture of Genie and human bloodlines giving them magical abilities tied to one of the four elements. Their abilities become active once they come of age, and it's random which elemental trait will activate.   These families have been around either as long as the main families, or came along in the last 150 years. They are human and due to a Witch's spell over the town don't know about their supernatural neighbors and haven't noticed some of their drastically slow (or non-existent) aging. Coming up with the idea of just strong familial genes being passed down. Will they finally be set free of the spell? Will they finally gain control over the town?
