She also is very imaginative and curious however, she always justifies it as research for her books, but if she is curious bout something, it might cloud her mind until she is satisfied with the information she finds.
Backstory: Her mother and father are famous musicians, she was never spoiled however, her parents did teach her to be independent and kind. Growing up, her parents took some time off to raise her, but that was until she was six years old. That was when her parents had to start working again, going around to world to perform and such. So they decided to put her into a boarding school, the Carlton House. Her parents weren't aware of their history, all that they knew it was a school where famous and smart people came from, so they enrolled her. Alice grew up at the boarding school, never really going home, only to visits to her parents when they were back in town. Carlton House was the place where Alice found her love for literature and any written work. Not only did she love reading it, she loved writing it. Stories, poems, essays, you name it, Alice has written it. Her teachers praised her for it, called her a prodigy with words. Over time, she learned about the sketchy history of Carlton House, but no matter how bad the rumors may be, she couldn't just leave, the Carlton House was her home.

Gender Male

Personality: Donny is quiet and calm. He cares for others and encourages them to make the correct choices to make sure they stay out a trouble. A bit of a genius, Donny takes interest in trying to solve police cases. He's actually solved a few and was given award money which is how he was able to pay for the school.

Tenure: 2 years

Backstory: Donovan always had a sort of boring life. Nothing bad ever came his way and he never got into trouble. He was often called "The Perfect Child". Not that he didn't like the peace but, it got boring after a while. So, after watching a detective series at 7, Donovan started trying to solve cases. Murders, thefts, kidnappings, everything. He was damn sure good at it too. At only 14, he had solved 43 thefts, 12 kidnappings, and 7 murders. Lots of police departments tried to convince him to join them but he just said,

"No, thanks. That kinda takes all the fun out of it."

By his 17th birthday, he had made $76,000 solving cases. Instead of shopping like there's no tomorrow, he gave some of it to his parents, a little more to charity, and invested the rest into joining the Carlton House University. He had a heard it was a place where the smartest and most talented people attended, and he wanted to find someone as smart as him. One of the biggest reasons he joined was because he heard rumors about Carlton House. Horrible rumors. Now, he's challenging himself to see if he can solve them.

Name: Bennet James Bovary
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Tenure: First year (Freshman)
Appearance: Bennet has unkempt, messy brown hair. He is slender with a tall build. He stands at 6'2. (Faceclaim is Joe Keery)

Joe Keery.png

Personality:

*TW: Does mention physical and verbal abuse*

Bennet Bovary is never one for taking anything seriously. Before attending Carlton House, Bennet was seen as the class clown among his peers. When a pop quiz would be announced, Bennet would do everything in his power to get it postponed or forgotten about. He would fling himself from his desk resulting in injuries, he would steal the assignments and hide them in his desk, and he would distract his teachers by asking them questions about their favorite subject or their personal lives all the while feigning intense interest in order to get the class distracted. This caused his teachers to become completely exasperated with him because when he turned his work in, he would have the highest marks in the class. During conferences with his father and his teachers they would go on and on about his potential while he sunk deeper into his chair wanting everyone to stop talking about him. While being the class clown had its charm, what Bennet truly appreciated about being the class clown was the guard it gave him. No one wanted to talk to him about his life at home or where he saw himself in the future if he was making them laugh while doing something stupid or impulsive.

Around others, Bennet would be described as extroverted, playful, funny, sarcastic, and aloof. He likes joking around, making people laugh, and being the center of attention. You can usually find him lighting up a cigarette in the middle of telling a joke, accepting dares, and planning elaborate pranks. When he is alone with his thoughts, Bennet is very insecure with himself. He tends to get lost in his own thoughts when there isn't someone or something to attract his attention. He reflects on his past mistakes, his broken family, and his faults in a loop until he can find a way to distract himself. Bennet tends to keep himself occupied in order to run away from the lingering anxiety that follows his train of thought everywhere he goes. However, now that he is at Carlton House, his anxiety is following him closer than ever before. Suddenly, he isn't the smartest person in the room and to be quite honest, he isn't the funniest person in the room either. After moving into Carlton House, Bennet is almost desperate to make a connection, to make someone laugh at one of his stupid jokes. He finds himself falling more and more behind while everyone around him seems to be succeeding.

When Bennet isn't studying furiously in his room, he enjoys reading, writing, playing cards, and smoking cigarettes out on the fire escapes late at night. During class you can find Bennet typically wearing a tweed blazer, a black turtle neck, and slacks. He never truly takes the time to make himself look presentable because he is usually trying to get ahead in his reading in order to not fall behind in his classes for the day. He always keeps a pack of cigarettes in his pockets along with a lighter. Smoking allows Bennet to take the time to slow down and refocus when he gets too anxious. He enjoys the repeated behaviors he displays when he lights one for himself. When he is in the mood to read, he typically pulls out his dog-eared copy of The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury. He loves escaping into science-fiction and short stories with dark endings. When Bennet is nervous, he tends to chew on his fingernails, run his hands through his hair, and pick at the skin on his fingers around his cuticles. In the classroom, Bennet enjoys being in the middle of the room. He likes being surrounded by his peers and finding reasons to talk during lectures. He enjoys being put on the spot and will sometimes antagonize his professors in order to take over the class's attention. He hates being in quiet classrooms and libraries. When it gets too silent, he will start humming or drumming his fingers on his desk in order to make noise. This has caused him issues in the past, so he tends to study in his bedroom where he can have his records playing while he works.

History:

TW: *Does mention verbal and physical abuse and death in the family*

Bennet James Bovary was born on April 3rd, 1934 in Manhattan, New York. His father, Harry Bovary, was the son of an oil baron and the picture of wealth and old money. His mother, Willa Jameson, was the daughter of school teachers from a small town in Connecticut. They met after his mother had come to New York for school and their romance was what dreams were made of. When Bennet was born, they were a happy family ready to grow their lineage and further their economic growth as the Great Depression raged on. When he was a child, Bennet loved reading with his mother in their study. She would make voices for each of the characters in order to make him laugh and she is who gave him a love for learning early on in his life. When he turned five, he gained a little brother named Alexander. Bennet and Alexander became best friends, often finding ways to cause mischief within the Bovary home. Their mother would always smile and shake her head at them and encourage their antics. Their father was constantly traveling while keeping up the family business, but when he came home they would be the picture perfect family.

The picture perfect family act fell once Bennet turned fourteen. Harry and Willa Bovary attended a business party surrounded by New York's elite. It had been storming violently throughout the night. When it was to come home, Harry and Willa's car hydroplaned off of the road into another vehicle. Willa was pronounced dead at the scene and Bennet's father would never be the same. After the accident, Bennet was immediately a target for his father's grief. Somehow, he had convinced his father to send Andrew to boarding school in order to keep him safe and far away. When his father was home, the expectations for Bennet grew exponentially. Nothing he could do would make his father proud of him. He would always get lectures from his father about becoming the heir of the oil company once his father passed. When his grades at school began to drop, his father would find ways to motivate Bennet with a violent hand. Cigarette burn marks for each question missed on a test, a kick to the stomach when a teacher would complain about the pranks Bennet pulled throughout the day, and on the good days, he would get hateful words thrown at him in passing that would repeat in his head over and over until he fell asleep. He was useless, he was a joke, and most of all, he would never amount to anything according to his father.

When it came time to choose a university, Bennet was incredibly surprised when he was accepted into Carlton House. Sure, due to his father's help, he kept his grades as high as he could, but he still couldn't believe that he was accepted into one of the most prestigious universities in the country. When it came time to pack his bags, Bennet looked at his home for the last time. He knew that once he stepped onto Carlton House campus, he would never make it back to Manhattan. What he didn't know is the horrors and the mysteries that were laid out in front of him at the university. Whether he made it out of Carlton House alive made no difference to him, he simply wanted to have an opportunity to run away from his own life for good.

Tenure: brand new
Personality: introverted, quiet and reserved, keeps to herself - maybe her being a lesbian and her being scared of the police or anyone finding out about it has something to do with it
Backstory: Raven was born on February 4th. She‘s the second child to two farmers and grew up on a ranch in Montana. Everyone in her family plays an instrument, though she‘s the first one to take it to a professional level. Her life was pretty normal for a child on a farm, though she never disliked it. She and her brother are very close, from being the only two kids around.

Other than her brother, she never had any real friends. Her parents noticed, she was smarter than all the other kids her age, resulting in her actually skipping two grades and graduating high school at age 16. Deeming it too young for her to pursue her studies in becoming a musician, she devoted the next 2 years in honing her skill playing guitar and also learned how to speak spanish and french fluently. Having fallen in love with languages then, she started tackling German and is still working on learning it.

Name: Marcus White
Age: 22
Gender: Male
rgsa52vlnid61.jpg

Appearance: (RL FCs)
Tenure: 4 Years

Personality: Marcus is a rather calm, collected, but serious person in most environments. He does casually joke with peers and goes out of his way sometimes to prove that he's not all stoic, no personality. Mixing sarcasm with serious and even forgetting to read the room, Marcus is often seen as a brooding asshole to those that don't know him. It takes time, but eventually, he'll recognize to read people a tad better and it's almost night and day.

While making his grades acceptable and sometimes finding himself alone to study, it is apparent that Marcus struggles in the classroom setting. Tapping his foot as he tests, studies, anything that involves a rather deep concentration level that he just is not capable of giving. Rather than letting this affect him, he does manage to convince some professors to allow him to test alone in an empty classroom from time to time.

Otherwise, Marcus looks as if he's a big, stoic, tough guy with horrible grades but in reality, he is rather protective of those who get close to him. If he isn't making jokes or teasing you, he probably does not like you.

Backstory: Marcus was born to a dockyard worker and a stay-at-home mother in New Jersey before they moved upstate and settled in Long Island, New York. Growing up, Marcus has always had troubles making friends, getting the best marks, and even finding something to retain his focus with all of them practically failing when he tried to better them. Thus, his Father threw him to the Docks while he was young to work with him instead of studying. Although this hurt his academic life, Marcus worked like an ox. He never was able to get involved with troublesome youth or even the law as he worked when not at school. It started to raise his marks before eventually he passed his primary school and moved on with high standards in secondary.

Eventually, however, the war came, "The War to End All Wars" as his father wrote from the west side of Germany. Left as a young kid, Marcus was told to stop working at the Dock and take care of his mother while this war in Europe raged. As he was only 10, the next few years would be the worst for him. 1945, May, his Father was pronounced dead as a battalion of German soldiers did not get the message the war was over. As his Father died in a rather unfair circumstance, this placed his mother in a severe degree of shock that came with unfortunate health conditions. For the next 4 years, Marcus forced himself to focus in school, however his grades continued to slip as most of his real focus went to his mother. Eventually, Marcus's Aunt was able to help him take care of his mother. Now with more freedom and a slight regret for letting his grades fall so much, Marcus found himself being strangely accepted into Carlton House. Thinking this was going to be a way to fix his past mistakes, he packed and left his mother with very high hopes for her.

Clothing: Marcus likes the feel of casual clothing. Partly setting into the Greaser style, he usually wears either a plain T-shirt or a collared button-up without the tie. He is clean shaven almost all year around and a rather messy head of hair rather than your traditional slicked over or back. He wears dark denim jeans and a pair of Chuck's as well as his father's dog tags. Other than that, he blends in rather well in public.
Favorite Book: Although ADHD severely hinders Marcus's ability to focus, he does like a few books. For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway comes to mind.
Quirks: Rarely makes real eye contact, inappropriate joking

Dion likes to call himself the resident 'bad boy', he can be rowdy in a moment, but also rather caring in another. he's not one to flip flop typically, but during on content clues for situations and how the environment is, he has a heart of gold and is a little bit curious one is to say. He likes to know what's happening and typically demands control of the situation. He likes to be aware, even if it's hyperactive. He is rambunctious and has a lot of energy, loves to go out and have fun, loves to see people smile and laugh and enjoys having people around him. He's an extrovert, but also loves the fear factor of people not being sure whether to approach him due to the way he dresses and acts, since most, a bad boy look is an act. He isn't 100% cold-hearted, he isn't non-interested, honestly, he's the opposite. He cares about people, is hyper loyal and loves to honestly be the centre of attention if he can get it. He could've just been the heartthrob ladies' man his entire life if he wanted, but with the influx and hit the greaser attire as he took interest in it, and shaped himself to fit that social class a little more.

It isn't hard to approach it, but due to his lack of shown facial expression one is never able to tell how he is feeling. It's sometimes rare to see a truly genuine smile on Dion's face, but a smirk is never too far from him. He loves to make jokes, and play pranks, he's too much of a people person, but again that's his demand for attention acting up. He isn't a bad kid, nor is he ill-mannered, he simple just had needs he wants to be met and will do whatever is within his power to meet them. Once he has a goal, there's no giving up.

BOOK GENRE:: Action & Suspense

LIKES:: Fashion, Getting a job done, adventure(!), campfires, camping, parties, long drives, movie nights, fire, people, spiders/bugs

DISLIKES:: colour theory (its annoying tbh), the early morning sun, the beach, swimming, failure, tight/small spaces

QUIRKS:: Talks to everyone as if they've all been friends for years,, patting everyone on the shoulder or back, he kinda random holds hands with girls???? esp those he's known for a while,, he doesn't know how to shut up,, he really likes to talk about fashion, and clothes, if somethings cute to him you will know.

HOBBIES:: Biking (Bikes or Motorcycles), painting (shockingly), Fashion (likes to make lookbooks tbh), Photograph (He has a really nice polaroid camera he carries everywhere)

Dion is above average height standing to the astonishing 6'2", and jet black hair that is often brushed back and greased to stay like that. Or on days when he's lazy, he just lets it fall however so it's a half curly mess that is often parted down the middle or slightly brushed back to stay out of his face. He has a few very soft freckles that you tend to only be able to notice in bright lights, or by being extremely close to his face (and that he isn't cool with typically). Due to spending a lot of time outside, Dion is rather tan, but his skin is extremely healthy-looking and very smooth to the touch. He tends to smell of fire and smoke 90% of the time, and no one can ever figure out if that's just some sort of cologne he buys, or if he just *really* spends that much time around campfires. (it's the latter). His nails are extremely well taken care of, because growing up his mother taught him looking your best would attract any and all, so Dion has some rather crazy personal hygiene.

If you were to take a closer look at Dion's face, his freckles aren't the only things you would notice more. at the left corner of his bottom lip there's a rather deep scar, but due to the placement is typically missed by anyone who gives him a quick look. There's a darkness that tends to lurk behind the crystal blue hues of Dion's eyes as well, and not to mention the rather sharp looking k9's in his mouth. The boy's appearance will leave you as confused and interested in him, as he is in you.

CLOTHING STYLE:: Dion dresses in the rising Greaser fashion. Often seen in worn t-shirts, and jeans, a pair of black sneakers and his iconic leather jacket with some patch on the back that he no longer remembers where he obtained it or the meaning of it. The colour on the patch is rather faded telling you just how to hold and loved the jacket might be, along with all the scuff marks and the dirt. But that doesn't stop Dion from wearing his beloved jacket. His wardrobe is mostly the same, he has some alternate jackets, for different weather conditions, like a long strength coat, or a winter jacket here and there. some blazers for fancy nights, but typically, Dion is in his jacket, a shirt with a flannel, and jeans. He isn't hard to pin-point in a crowd between his obscure attire and his height.

CONTENT WARNING:: Mentions of Alcohol Abuse/General Usage, Domestic Violence/Domestic Abuse.

Nordion Verda, was born to not the most affluent family, but he was born to a family that was able to foster him and feed into his needs for things he found a passion for at a young age. While he came up different and a little strange compared to others, Nordion who rather be called Dion, fell in love with Oil Paints and sculpting clay. He had a talent for creating it seemed. His mother loved it, looking at him creating little bowls and knick-knacks for the shelves in their home, his favourite thing was a set of coasters he got to hand paint when he was 12, each depicting a different time of day, one for him, his mother and his father.

However, just as every story does, there's also the climax with the plot point tragedy. For Dion that was the loss of his grandparents and father in a house fire that started due to careless drinking and smoking. While a young Dion was aware of his father's poor choices and addictions to cigarettes and alcohol, he never sought to think of a day where it took not only his father's life, but his grandparent's as well. It struck the Verda's hard, leaving his mother left to drown herself in her own self-pity and hatred for losing her husband, and often taking her anger and grief out on her only child for a number of years, which is what awoken a new form of creation in him allowing new darkness and theme to form in the paintings he created in his free time as a way for him to vent his own personal aggression and gripes with reality. It had only been 3 years since that time before Dion was shipped off to an academy to hopefully further his skills and give him a purpose to use them for professional reasons and allow him to grow more than just what he could do at home with his now deteriorating mother. Dion has spent a lot of time at the Academy ever since, only really going home for the Summer, and choosing to stay locked in his dorm during Holidays to avoid his mother for the sake of his own sanity and mental health to survive the semesters.
