Sounding for Exalted!

Name: Thunderous Cherry Blossoms ("Thunder" or "Blossom")
Type: Full Moon Lunar

Concept: Fickle Bodyguard

Spirit Form: Long-haired yellow tabby
Pending getting into the game, I'm interested in picking up the bond if you still need a recipient. Aside from the incredible usefulness of having a Full Moon bodyguard for a sorcerer, we'd probably play to each other's strengths well. Again, see Lunar bodyguard for a sorcerer. Krana the city boy knows a fair bit about the great game and social manipulations, while it looks like you'd gear Thunder towards the running around cloak and dagger stuff. Also we'd both be MA favored, which offers portents of sharing charms and styles. What do you think?

Cthulhu_Wakes, it is with great regret that I must pull my application from the game. I think I might not have time for it between my others. Which is a shame because I was looking forward to being in one of your games.

I just realized we have three Twilight candidates. I am amused.

But first! Setting chaff:

A Sample of Calinese Houses

Akodo - martial power, an old house descended from Taisho Akodo, famous wing-leader during the Contagion who held the Forty-second Martial Reclamation Zone (present day Fushida) during the Contagion. Familial line descended after the chaos of the Contagion back the once-great military backbone of Calin after the Realm Wars. After the Fae Incursion of the late 500s, the house has been in the decline. Strong influence in polite society, the military, and the Shogun's court remain. The Terrestrial blood still sings within the family and keeps it in such power.

Head of Household: Akodo Kane, Fire Aspect

House Champion: Matsu Fumiyo, Air Aspect

Takahashi - social power, currently a rising star in the Shogun's court these former silk traders have become a powerhouse in the last century producing top notch courtiers and diplomats. A Takahashi sits in one of Calin's three delegate seats in Marita. A Takahashi cuts deals with the Empress' negotiators in Imperial City. A Takahashi holds the Shogun's ear.

Many are wary of the Takahashi, but many hold to the old proverb, "The Shogun's ear is but an empty horn." Yet they sometimes forget the rest of the proverb, "but be wise to the blower's tune and the song the Shogun sings."

Head of Household: Takahashi Misu

House Champion: Bakoro, the Forty-Man-Slayer

Biaxi - economic, social power, the oldest house in Calin, former House of Shoguns, it has since waned from political favor to the mercantile over the past two centuries: hinterland manors of eccentric nobility, warehouse districts, plantations, a notable red-light district in Tinaxin, a school of exorcists in Ballico, a museum of Shogunate-era poetry and writings and bronzework in Port Calin itself. Their words are weighted, but little heeded in these days. Respect is still demonstrated, but feathers turn to arrows in political arguments now.

Head of Household: Biaxi Inrau

House Champion: Paro Kagemusha, Earth Aspect

Jnan - martial power, the forefront of the Shogun's martial Houses, stocking the royal army with the finest swordsmen and heavy cavalry par excellence save Marukani mercenaries. Their trade is war and rice wine and a thriving, yet not widely known medical profession. The Bayushi family of Jnan is renowned for their hospital in Tien-Wo and their logician-doctors and their works of clockwork artifice.

Head of Household: Paisho

House Champion: The Vertiginous Blade

I like the L5R family name references.

I don't think I trust the Bayushi to be running a hospital though. >.>

Come now! Just because the doctors are wearing masks and work with poisons on occasion means nothing!

...

Nothing, I say!

Okay, I will be making my picks tomorrow, folks. Last call and what not. If you've anything to add, add it now. I'll make the choices in the late afternoon. Cheers!

Come now! Just because the doctors are wearing masks and work with poisons on occasion means nothing!

Nothing, I say!
"Hello, my name is Dr. Yogo Junzo, and I'll be your physician today. Let me just open up this here black scroll... and I guess it says the only cure for your condition is becoming Undead. So sorry!"

Official concept-

Name-Cathak Domon

Caste-Eclipse

Motivation- Perfect the arts of the sword and pen/Maneuver himself into a place of power within his own house (Haven't decided which one)

Backstory- Cathak Domon was, as most children of Dynastic houses, a child born with a jade spoon in his mouth. He learned all the proper methods of court, politics, military stratagem, and every other nuance that was expected of him. He especially took a keening to the sword at a young age, and it was expected that he would, of course, follow in his family's footsteps and Exalt as an Aspect of Fire. This expectation, however, was not met. He fell from the good graces of his family then, but, quick wit and an impressive skill with his blade opened doors for him in an 'honorable' position as a dignitary to lands in the Threshold. This was not at all what he wanted.

Since then, he's seen the world, much more than he would care to. His missions have sent him to the farthest and seediest reaches of the Threshold, often each reassignment an attempt in some higher person's political games to kill him, usually followed by a short stint in some posh estate as a rival placed him there. Just another pawn in the games of his peers. That was until assassins, most likely from one of House Cathak's rival houses, did in with his guards. It was then he felt the grace of the Unconquered Sun, and displayed exactly how quick his blade could be. He reestablished connections with his house, and, through use of his now-enhanced skills, has been trying to make his way back to the Isle, to show his peers just how mistaken they were.

Currently, he is in a diplomatic position in Port Calin, but, a sleight to an Akodo lieutenant has him waiting eagerly for the arranged duel. He'll certainly show them the true meaning of swordplay if needed.

Well, there you have it. And, yes, I had to make an enemy of House Akodo. My crane-inspired duelist will CRUSH ZEM!!!! BWAHAHA!

That ?!

That's nothing, really, you should have met my father... I was never able to surpass him in the worst and easiest jokes category, he turned that into a form of art.

So I am just keeping the legacy alive :)

Name: Takeru Kosaka / aka T.K.

Concept: Farmboy hunter turned assassin / bounty hunter

Type: Changing Moon Lunar exalt

Spirit Shape: Peregrine Falcon

Motivation: Create a stable power in the threshold

Backstory:

T.K. grew up in a small farm between Charak, Rubylak and Sijan. Being the middle of 7 children is never easy, and he was often overlooked. Not wanting to exactly be the farmer type, T.K. took up the bow when he met a wanderer who taught him how to use one properly. After the wanderer left, T.K. started hunting the local woods, and bringing game for the family.

Not being content with just local game, T.K. started going after more challenging game, and eventually got tired of that as well. It was then that he decided to go after one of the elder animals of the area, which was a bad mistake, since after killing one, he angered the local god. The angered god began chasing T.K. through the forest, and after T.K. tripped, he awoke to see a beautiful woman, wearing moonsilver armor, and holding a moonsilver bow. The woman told him to follow the next people who are coming for him. When he awoke, he had realized that almost no time had passed and continued to run. Amazed that he was running faster and not tiring as much, he runs into a group of tattooed men, who chased off the god.

Following his vision, T.K. followed the tattooed men who, while traveling, told him what he had become, and that they were taking him to the elder who told them to retrieve him. After reaching the wyld, he was tattooed as a changing moon caste, and given a mentor who honed his archery skills, and taught him a bit with a spear. However, after a short time, T.K. had a funny feeling about his homeland, it might have been home-sickness, but he felt like he needed to go back. With his mentor's blessings, and new weapons, he left for home.

After coming home again, he had found out that the local emissary had been replaced, and the new emissary was a tyrant. Feeling the need to help his homeland, T.K. decided to take matters into his own hands, and him down and when he was alone, killed him, and drank his heart's blood. Taking his form, T.K. tried to reverse some of the damage the emissary had done. This was going well until others around started to notice the change. T.K. decided that this was a good time to pull a vanishing act and headed to Port Calin until things have cooled down.

Durr. Also, hurr.
