Fantasy Soul Summoner Saga

(I'm Baaaccckkkk!!! Sorry about the slight hiatus. I have kids and they come over on the weekends. Things are like a zoo but the people are in the cages and the monkeys are free.)


Mr. Amon rubbed the bridge of his nose in frustration at being ignored. In his day these arrogant children would have sentenced to life as slaves, and forced to build pyramids in his name. He sorely missed the old days.


"I'm guessing that one of those young ones fighting over there is Sora. And we are not allowed to interfere with summoners battles. I guess we will just have to wait then.


"Hey you three children over there!?" He said to Olivia and Justin. "Where are you going? I will take you to the camp grounds now. You can start your training immediately." He said creating a swirling vortex of colorful energy on the ground.


"Jump inside if you want to receive training. And Justin! Your understanding of the current situation is false. Drake and the chosen do not equal power. Power is the-" Suddenly Drake walked out of the shadows again cutting Mayor. Amon off.


"Power is what I say it is, fallen god. I am the definition of power in all its glory." He said walking past the mayor right up to the Justin, Kauro, and Olivia. "I can prove it as well. Just ask and I will grant you a soul with the rank of RARE. No questions asked. And you do not have to join my cause. It is a gift to you from a fellow summoner. You will see for yourselves whom you should join." He said walking up to Mayor Amon.


"Your not welcome, Drake." Mayor Amon said harshly.


Drake smirked humorously. "And what methods will you take to stop me? I'm a human remember?" Drake asked before stepping into the vortex disappearing into whatever place it would lead.


Mayor Amon sighed looking at the rest of the students. "Well you lot coming or not?"

 

[Gamer Wizard Justin]

He saw Drake go into the Vortex "Hey come back here!" He ran and jumped into the portal. He didn't know where it lead but he hoped it wouldn't be anywhere bad.

 

[Vizriel]

The strong winds completely caught the Gargoyle off guard causing him to slow down and lose control but he saw the steel feathers coming. He closed his stone wings in front of himself like a shield blocking most off the blades but he fell to the ground cracking the concrete beneath him when he landed. His wings were completely useless now so flight was impossible. Reggie shook his head in disbelief. The only other summoner ever to beat him was Drake. "Its over Stone Gargoyle. You did your best. Lets finish this like warriors." The Gargoyle ran forward in a sprint. It reached to its skewered wings and pulled out two of the steel feathered blades, holding them like swords and leaped at Sora's soul roaring as it made its last attack.

 

[Mireille]

Zenos let out a screech, and saw the gargoyle sprinting towards him. Zenos flapped it's wings creating a blast of razor winds, and shot his steel feathers in all other directions to hopefully block all escape routes. Zenos wanted to end this battle now. It was growing old and while Zenos could keep going for a long time. The battle was growing ever dangerous. Zenos let out another screech, but the effect was calming and inviting. As if a trick to convince the gargoyle that the stuff wouldn't hurt him, and that he should let himself be hit.

[Vizriel]

The stone gargoyle used his wings and the blades in his hands to block as many of the steel feathers as possible but was stopped on his tracks as three of the blades embed themselves into hits chest, arm, and leg. It suddenly burst into a flash of sparkling lights as it was finally defeated.


A message popped up on Sora's phone. "Victory. Will you Reward or Punish?" It said.


Mayor Amon answered rushing. "Ah! The battle is over. Would the one named Sora like to enter the portal for training? Kauro, and Olivia as well. It is time to go."


Reggie pointed out. " He's Sora. I'm nobody." He said walking away. "Hopefully we can fight again. If not, then oh well. It was a good battle. Stay strong, Sora." Reggie said as he began to walk away flipping through the apps on his phone.

[Mireille]

Sora ran after Reggie and got in front of him. "Hey hold on..." Sora held out his hand. "Want to be friends?" he was smiling at him, in his head it sounded like a good idea, but Reggie might not be that type of person. He wasn't sure at all. However, Sora was hoping he'd accept the friendship request as he'd love the idea of making a new friend. He didn't hear Mayor Amon at all.

Reggie smiled. This kid was really the good guy type. Reggie had been a complete jerk but he as still trying to be buddies.


"That would be great, in a different world. But I'm a chosen and your a champion. If you don't choose punish, the odds are that we will battle again and sadly, I don't have the luxury to be as noble as you are Sora. I can say this. Anyone strong enough to defeat me, has my respect and admiration." Reggie said genuinely.

 

[Mireille]

Sora looked at Reggie he understood his point but Sora pointed out. "So, what if you are a chosen and I am a champion? We are only rivals in battle right? So, there's no problem being friends outside of it." Sora wasn't going to back down from this. "Besides, if it's Drake you are worried about. I'll crush him for you, and then you can be free." He wasn't sure how to argue with this. But, Sora was going to do his best to convince Reggie.

Reggie stared in disbelief. "Your gonna defeat Drake huh? Well if you can do that, then I guess your right. We can be buds. Until then You do what you gotta do, and I'll do the same." Suddenly Sora's phone began to beep in notification again.


"Victory. Punish or Reward?" Then a second message popped up beneath it. "Contact-Summoner ID: Reggie" It said on his screen. "See ya around Sora." He said walking away.


Mayor Amon rolled his eyes. "If your all done wasting time, please enter the vortex. Who knows what havoc Drake is wreaking as we speak."

[LizzyBeth]

Olivia jumped into the portal after Justin. "Justin what's going on?" She asked as she appeared on the other side of the vortex.

 

[Gamer Wizard Justin]

When Olivia went through the portal he was already sitting on a pole. "What took you forever sweetheart?" He said to her and smirked.

 

[LizzyBeth]

"Well cutie you did just run off." She shrugged and then looked up at him. "You going to stay up there all day?" She asked mimicking his smirk.

 

[Gamer Wizard Justin]

He shrugged and he then jumped down after her and he soon yelled "HEY DRAKE WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?"

They were in a dense green jungle with magnificent huge tree's that towered like skyscrapers as beams of sunlight broke through. There were four totem poles with monstrous faces located near the entrance of an alter, probably where they had entered from.


"I've been right here the whole time." Drake said leaning back against the opposite totem pole that Justin had been sitting at. "But you might want to keep your voice down. Unless you want to attract some horribly unwanted company."

"I challenge you to a summoner battle!" He said to him "Instead of punish or reward how about If I win I get some answers and if you win I'll join your side" he smirked sad he pulled out his phone

Sora looked at Reggie walked off from him. Then, heard the beeping on his phone. "Reward or punish? What do those mean?" He said to himself curiously looking at his phone and noticing the new contact. "So, his name is Reggie?" Turning his attention to the mayor. "Who are you?"

 

[Vizriel]

"I am the mayor of this town and a friend of the Champions, but years ago I was known as the Egyptian Ruler Ra." He said folding his arms with authority. "You are Sora I presume. Reward is what you receive for winning the summoners battle and Punish is what the loser receives for losing. You have a choice. You can reward yourself or punish them. You will find that at times each are can be beneficial and necessary."


He pointed at the vortex. " That will take you to the training grounds. Everything about summoning will be revealed during your training. You and Kauro are the last to enter. And beware. Drake has entered the vortex as well."

Sora looked at him for a bit and bowed a little. "Then, It's a pleasure to meet you, Ra. But, ..what does punish do specifically?" Sora got up and looked at the Vortex "Drake..." He nodded at this but still wanted a clear answer on what punish did. "What..does Reward and punish do exactly. Do you mind me asking?"

[Vizriel]

"No not at all as wisdom is the reward of those who ask. If you choose to reward yourself, you will receive a new soul to summon. If you choose to punish, your opponent will lose their ability to summon souls and you will have one less opponent to worry about." Ra said straight faced.

[Mireille]

Sora thought a moment. "Then, I can't do that to my friend." He said selecting the reward option receiving a new soul. Then, dashed into the vortex. Soon he arrived and noticed Justin, Olivia, and Drake. "Drake been a while. How ya doing?" Sora asked him. Drake was indeed an enemy but Sora was being very polite to him.

"Well if you don't want to fight what do you want?" Olivia asked placing her hands on her hips.

 

[Gamer Wizard Justin]

He followed after him "Then tell me what even is your reasoning to gather summoners" he asked he wondered he was gathering them.

 

[Vizriel]

Drake watched as Sora arrived and greeted him. "Same to you." Drake said in a manner rather faking politeness.


"As for why I will not battle you? I see no need. I have the ability to recruit you without putting my summoning app at risk, should I, gods forbid lose to the likes of you. That is the reason why I make my underlings do it." He took out his app and scrolled down the list of souls he had. "I have other ways to prove my power. As I said before, should you simply ask i will gift you with a soul of rare... no "legendary" rank. Free, with no tricks or strings." He said smiling. "I have plenty of souls to spare."

 

[Mireille]

Sora looked at Drake. "Whoa..didn't think the guy who'd try to recruit me would be such a big coward." Sora didn't say this to offend Drake, but rather said it because of him using other people for his own gain. Then, he heard the words 'I have plenty of souls to spare.' this made Sora burn up inside..did he really think souls are just something you can toss away at any given moment. "Your way of thinking disgusts me...tossing souls around, making them seem like nothing other than tools. But, I already made a promise to someone I'd crush you." Sora didn't sound angry in those words at all. Oddly, those words seemed to be beaming with kindness.

"Truer words have never been spoken." A voice could be heard as three wolves came trotting out of the lush jungle. "Drake is nothing but a coward. A coward bent on becoming worshipped like a god. He will watch the world burn just to get his way." The center wolf seemed to be the one speaking although his jaws werent moving. It had a scare going down one of its eyes which seemed to be blind. Suddenly more vortex's opened up and even more kids came out. At least 12 more kids appeared.


"I bet you none of them think so." Drake said smirking.


"Hey there's that Drake guy. He's the one that gave us the rare souls." The new kids said walking over. "But where are we now? The mayor said it's a training camp." A girl said looking around.
