Soul Eater

I started to rock back and forth in my seat. I had so much energy I just couldn't pay attention. I started to noisily snap pencils till the teacher looked at me with a glare. "Blue Star, do you need to leave class!" yelled the teacher. "Yes please!" I skipped out of the classroom and began excercising in the hallway. There was no time for books. I needed strength!

Hunter put his head down in embarrassment...he kept on jotting the notes down. Eventually class ended and Hunter shoved the paper at her. "Here."

I took the paper and flexed. "You see these guns! These are kishin kicking guns!" I looked down at the notes. "Thanks!"

"Are we going to fight!?" I asked excitedly, cracking my knuckles. I held out my fist. "It's curtesy to touch fists before a fight!" I started to jump up and down with anticipation.

I noticed how easily he transformed and couldn't help but be a little jealous. It seemed to come so naturally to him. I gripped his handle and ran to the nearest tree. I stuck it into the tree and used it to propel me high enough to grab the first branch. I swung on top of it and continued to climb to the top of the tree. At the top, I looked down. "If I dropped you from up here, would it hurt?" I asked curiously.

"Okay," I said, pretending to drop him, but since he started vibrating, I actually dropped him. I jumped off the tree to catch him. I grabbed him in the air and put the weapon over my stomach so he wouldn't get hurt.

I got up, coughing from the impact. "I'm sorry!" I said running after him. "I couldn't control my mad tree climbing skills!"

Hunter glared at her. "Listen here kid, I am not some 'ninja's' accessory. I am a weapon that is mean for killing shinigami's. Not freaking trees. I was wrong about you." He then turned away ad started to walk.

I sat down in the grass sadly. I did this every time! My fun loving nature always pushed people away! I bit my lip to make the pain go away till a trickle of blood dripped off my chin.

Hunter just wanted a partner, who knew how to use him correctly...one that wanted to learn so desperately. He sighed and walked back to the girl. "Listen,"

"It's okay. You don't have to try to make me feel better. Nobody wants to work with a talentless fool. I got it. You can go back to studying your precious books. I won't distract you anymore."

Hunter sighed and sat down next to her. "Our souls will never perfectly match.." He whispered. "Hell, I was surprised you could even pick me up.." He mumbled, running a hand through his hair.

"It's called massive strength," I said sarcastically. "And the soul wavelength thing honestly doesn't bother me. I'm an abnormal soul, so no one's going to fit me perfectly at first. It just gives us goals, but it's not right of me to drag you down like that. I hear Rachel doesn't have a partner yet, and she's an amazing meister. Can resonate with anyone. Why don't you just let her wield you. I'll be the first meister to defeat a kishin without a weapon!"

Hunter sighed and looked down at the dark green grass. "It wouldn't be right to ditch you..and plus, no one else would take you." He glanced over at her. "But...we will defiantly need work...and you need to realize..you cant do this one your own."

I clenched my fists. I hated having to need help. I liked to do things on my own, be the leader. "Okay. I will try not to goof off next time," I said quietly.
