So… souls… everyone has one. Some people have really strong souls, which are called “Strong Souls.” (Very original, I know.) Usually, though, in all honesty, meisters and weapons just have regular souls. Grim reapers have “Grim Reaper Souls.” A grigori soul is a very rare type of soul with wings. Maka has a grigori soul in the anime.
Souls can have different colors.
Certain individuals can be born with specialized soul wavelengths which are listed on the lore page. It’s important to note that specialized soul wavelengths are things you are born with and therefore they cannot be taught to someone who doesn’t already have one. You can read more about these on the lore page, but I’ll list them here. Current specialized wavelengths are anti-demon wavelength (Maka has this in cannon), anti-magic wavelength, numbing wavelength, parasitic wavelength, healing wavelength (

‘s bread and butter for most of his characters I’ve seen 
) and survivor’s wavelength. You are able to create your own wavelength as well although I would personally request as the lore person that you try to model it after those we already have. I like consistency.
Then there are soul wavelength based abilities. These are things like soul force (which Black Star uses as “Black Star Big Wave”), soul perception (Maka and Stein use this), sutures (Stein uses this when he fights Medusa under Death City), and other abilities that players have created.
