kenny-kong-galaxyhoodgirl2.jpg Sunday, not an ideal day to start school, but instead an orientation of the school and introduction of a partners before tomorrows first day of school. The hooded Viola stood in the center of the plaza, the entrance of the school, admiring the architecture. The sun's rays spot lighting the building making it marvelous as it is. The young girl's eyes light up for she has heard of the school, yet never step foot. She looks around noticing how lonely it is early in the morning. Viola gathered she is the first to arrive. Behind, the view is amazing, capable to see down every street, shop and building. The academy certainly proves to be the castle to reign over it's people and surveillance. "Soon." She whispered.

The girl takes a seat against the ledge of the cement rails wondering how to approach things and what is in store. Initiations have changed recently, as she has been informed. The question is, 'why'? The only tradition stays where name tags with their status are mandatory to wear for just the orientation. Viola's tag written in black marker, "Meister".

Standing at the precipice of his future, Kasper could only marvel at the sheer magnitude of the academy, the large imposing structure looming over and casting him in shadow. The building exuded presence, the large stairway an ominous obstacle that they'd have to overcome on a daily basis as well as the sheer fortitude and power that emanated off the castle like building house at the top. A school this may be, but it was also a place where weapons and Meisters would be trained in the art of combat; soldiers against the darkness and madness that threatened to destroy the golden age.

Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine he would end up at such a place, the carefree life of anarchism that he had just recently been forced to give up spared little time for such frivolous thoughts; the idea of living a 'just' life never really appealing to the dark haired boy. Born amidst the harsh truth of poverty, nurtured through the rebellious ideal of anarchy; it was hard to find anything about Kasper that implied he had 'good' inside of him. The law and society as a whole saw him and his former crew as nothing more than criminals, though that was merely the result of being left behind by those fortunate enough to have been given the golden ticket of the 'Golden age', for those unlucky enough to have been left behind, it was a dog eat dog world. Survival of the fittest. Ofcourse, things always have to change and it was the sudden disappearance of their leader Rosalia that had forced his hand.

Rumours abundant; it had become quite clear that the DWMA were somehow involved or at the very least aware of these disappearances, their general knowledge of the matter not privy to those outside of the academy walls. If Kasper were to find the answers to his questions, than this was surely the place to be and being a goody-two-shoes was a small price to pay for the plethora of questions that raged inside of him.

Raising a hand to remove the glasses from his face, Kasper halfheartedly glanced towards another figure perched against the ledge of the cement rails, their face obscured by a hood. Another student perhaps? Studying their figure, Kaspers hands got to work cleaning the lens of his glasses, a smidgen of condensation had formed along them as the crisp morning air took its time to warm up. Unable to discern anything else from her seated frame, Kasper returned the glasses to his face, casually adjusting them into their perfect perch before pocketing both hands in his pocket. His right hand brushing against the Weapon Tag he had been given.

The fresh wafting aroma of toast was graciously carried along the winds; a slight ruffle of Kaspers hair turning his attention away from the school and down one of the main roads. Was there perhaps a small bakery nearby? His stomach rumbled ever so slightly. Being new to this town, he had spent the morning studying the map to the academy, only it was at the cost of breakfast.

Although she had spent the past ten years of her life training in lower and lesser academies, there was still something extremely daunting about walking up the staircase to the actual Death Weapon Meister Academy after aiming to be there for so long. The entire building loomed over the city as a whole and she was fairly certain just by glancing at the architecture and the city’s structure that Death Vegas wouldn’t exist without the academy at its center. It just seemed like the city fed off the academy and vice-versa. Of course, Kyleigha knew that there used to be more of a reason behind that. The city used to be bound to the soul of the ancient grim reaper - Lord Death, himself - and had served to trap the kishin Asura for centuries long ago.

Despite knowing her history, though, Kyleigha was unsure of what the connection was between the city and the academy now. Had its purpose been abandoned or adapted? Or was it something else entirely? She stood on the precipice of finding out as she walked up the daunting staircase.

Uncertain of what the details of the day would entail, Kyleigha had dressed for just about anything. She wore a simple black t-shirt with a collar for formalities purposes because a uniform hadn’t been prescribed to them. Then she wore denim leggings that gave her plenty of mobility while also looking presentable enough. It was a utility outfit as far as she was concerned. She didn’t anticipate needing to impress anyone with her outfit, after all, because being accepted and asked to come to a Sunday orientation ought to show off her skills enough. The tag labeled “Meister” was probably the only thing that made her feel inexperienced or unprepared. It marked the fact that she had no partner and was thus incomplete. Incomplete in more ways than one. She was a meister without a weapon and a descendant of a witch who yet had no magic. Kyleigha knew she had to correct one of them.

Therefore, when she made it to the top of the stairs, her eyes narrowed on the two individuals who were already standing there waiting for the rest of the group to join them. The first was difficult to make much of because they wore a hood that concealed nearly all of their features. Kyleigha wasn’t quite sure what to make of that. Her gaze quickly shifted to the other and she very promptly noted the weapon tag they wore. It was enough to draw her in their direction and she held out her hand to them politely.

“Hello,” she greeted. “I’m Kyleigha Ford. I’m a meister. You can call me Kye if you want to, though.” She figured it was probably best to assign herself a nickname before someone else gave her a ridiculous one. Her hand would remain extended as long as seemed appropriate, but even Kyleigha wasn’t about to force things if nothing seemed to come of it.

1588733580927.pngThere was a pep in his step and a tune he was humming, the boy bouncing around from side to side as he made his way through Death City. It was such a weird name to call a place! Sounded like a total bummer and a snore fest while he was on his way there, pretty unsure of the kind of craphole a place had to be to get that kind of name recognition. Lo' and behold though, it was REALLY FRIGGIN' COOL! The young man would have NEVER thought that a place called Death City would keep to its motif so strictly, most places like that seemed seriously snobby and that wasn't something that he could vibe with at all. As his eyes darted around, looking at all of the weird buildings, his attention was especially fixated on the GIANT SKULLS that were made into these really artistic lookin' archways all the way at the top of the city. The guy that drove him here wasn't kidding in the slightest when he said that there was no way that Arma would miss it. I mean, how could he? IT'S SO COOL!

That didn't mean that everything was all good vibes though, as there was this really weird aura that seemed to surround the place. Even though he couldn't tell what it was that made him have such a feeling it definitely made him do a quick double take. It gave him the chills, the way it seemed to barely move and how it looked like a weird overlay on the clouds or something. The self admitted shorty would think aloud: "Creepy... Oh well! People to meet! Orientation to attend!" As Arma made his way through the large city, a wide toothy grin on his face as he looked around in awe at all of his surroundings, the closer he looked the cooler he began to think this place was; so much so that he had almost forgotten why he was here! It wasn't a vacation, it was for an education, one to reform him at that. Continuing to hum his tune, he would look down at his arms as he climbed the steps towards figures that seemed to be waiting around at the meeting spot he was instructed to go to. Theo... Miral... I'll hope you idiots are doing just fine. OH SHIT!

The teen quickly stuffed his hands into his pockets, remembering that he had to wear that nametag that he was given so that people could recognize what he was at the DWMA... a meister. The whole thing felt a little weird but.. it was his life now.Oh well... chin up Torrez! With his own little hype-up, the rowdy meister would jump in the air when he had finally made it to the meeting point, a goofy grin on his face. "Hey Hey Hey!" Arma would swiftly turn to the two people who seemed to be introducing themselves to each other, giving them a quick salute before making a big leap toward the hooded person on the steps, his body wobbling slightly as he landed until he shot himself upright from his crouched landing position. "Yo! Name's Arma! Imma meister! How 'bout you?" The loud mouth could see the name tag and what was written on it. BUT these were INTRODUCTIONS! They had to be friendly and talk right? Right...?

kenny-kong-galaxyhoodgirl2.jpgIt's only been five minutes since Viola's arrival, and one by one, students start arriving. First, a tall boy whom also started with admiring the building. What was questionable is the fact that the guy is wearing shades early in the morning. Viola sweat drops finding it amusing to easily be able to read his soul. Nothing ominous, except the soul is a little disturbing to read. She shakes her head finding it rude to even do so. It's an unconscious habit she's come to accept as there are times she cannot control. Part of the reason to apply to the school is to harness her abilities in the first place-among other things.

The male's gaze locked onto her, sending a cold shiver down her spine. 'Did he notice me reading him?' From his angle, she could tell her face is still covered. Once he looked away, she sighed in relief. 'Thank goodness. I don't want to start anything so early in the morning, let alone as a first impression.' The next student comes along, analyzing both Viola and the Shades guy. It felt reassuring that another girl is attending, unfortunately she turned to greet herself to the boy. Before Viola could return to her thoughts, a voice bellows a greeting toward her, startling the poor girl. She yelps, jolting back in her seat. Standing in front of her is raven-haired teen with a blonde streak hanging down the center. A large grin, plastered on his face and his honey, brown eyes staring down at her with a spark. What could it be? Enthusiasm? Interest? She didn't know. His closeness intimidated her let alone made her shy as he seemed cute to her. Her cheeks begin to grow a rosy color. "H-hi....I'm...Viola." She mumbled, lowering her head.

Kasper half turned towards the newcomer as she approached him, her earnest greeting managing to elicit a response from him in the form of a a faint almost plastic smile. From behind tinted lenses Kasper examined Kyleigha from top to bottom and from bottom to top; his gaze inspecting her every inch in as much detail as he could gather. Denim jeans accompanied by a simple black t-shirt and a collar. Sensible yet practical, formal yet casual. A modest attire compared to the black jeans and blazer he wore. 'Meister' her tag read, the opposite of what the tag hidden in his pocket said. Depending on how things went, there was a chance that they'd be paired up; though nothing was for certain. All he knew was that in order to attain what he hoped to get from the academy, he would need to play the role assigned to him to its fullest regardless of the hurdles placed before him. A soft inhale and exhale as Kasper internally prepared himself.

It was a half minute before Kasper reciprocated the hand shake, extending his right hand to meet hers ; though stopping at a mere handshake was not his only intention as he held her hand tightly, his gaze meeting her own. "Kyleigha" he muttered, attempting to get the pronunciation right, "...a lovely name.. forgive me if I mispronounced it", his voice still somewhat soft. Still holding onto her hand, Kasper slowly raised it towards his lips as he leaned forward, a soft introductory kiss to the back of her hand before he tilted his head back up and locked eyes with her once more. "I am Kasper, Kasper Strauss" as he revealed his name, he had released his grasp on her hand and stood back fully, the plastic smile of his returning to his face. Just in time to see a 4th Student arrive.

Momentarily tearing his attention away from Kye, Kasper acknowledged Arma's greeting with a nod before watching him make his way towards where Viola sat. Her reaction priceless as she jolted backwards.

Walking through the city of death, was another of the academy students, one whom had traveled here from far and wide, and did not have the luxury of her parents buying a plane ticket. As such, having spent nearly forty-two hours in the back of a bus, going across the border, dealing with customs, the silver-haired girl finally reached her destination, Death City. While the weather wasn't something she wasn't used to, it was the architecture that baffled the young lady, it was odd, didn't fit one style or another, while uniform with itself, it was many styles clashing together. That is, until you get to the top of the city.

"You're strong, Nina, remember that..." Those words echoed in Nina's mind as she looked to the stairs of the new academy she was to attend. Exhausted from her travels, the stairs looked to be a wall to her, though it didn't stop her, though a few words were mumbled under her breath the entire way up.

Reaching the top of the dreaded staircase, Nina was mildly surprised, she wasn't the last one to arrive. Looking at her watch she was certain that she was, but won't argue it. There were quite a few students standing around, one being a raven-haired boy whom had just finished cleaning his glasses, he was tall, much taller than Nina, with what she would guess a well-built body type, based on his stature. The next, was a woman with a deep brown set of eyes, her long hair matched colour she seemed to be roughly Nina's height from what she could gauge from her distance.

Taking a step from the stairs, she looked at the other boy, with dark hair except for the golden blonde streak at the front, he was about Nina's height as well, maybe even a little shorter. Lanky in stature, his attitude was easy to see, as he seemed to be brimming with excitement. And finally, Nina's eyes set upon one last person, an enigma. She couldn't see the person's face past the nose, as a cloak covered their body. What could they be hiding? Why would someone come to an academy in a cloak of all things?

As those questions surfaced, the brown-haired girl spoke first, “Hello, I’m Kyleigha Ford. I’m a meister. You can call me Kye if you want to, though.” What an interesting name, Kyleigha, it reminded her of the middle names her family had, due to her heritage being of the ancient Aztecs. But that was a different story for a different day, the next one to speak was the shorter boy, whose words brimmed with the same energy that his body showed,

"Yo! Name's Arma! Imma meister! How 'bout you?" Then, the cloaked woman spoke, it was so hard to hear her, as she trailed off quickly, it sounded like the name Viola from what Nina could guess. But that left only the tall man to introduce, as Nina had just arrived and might not have been fully noticed yet,

"I am Kasper, Kasper Strauss" After speaking, he took up a smile before sitting next to the cloaked woman with the name Viola. Hearing these names, Nina slowly approached from the very top of the stairs, joining the others she would have to share classes with, it was only fair to share her name,

"I will guess you were introducing yourselves?" She asked, as now she stood with the other students, she wanted to be sure before speaking once again, "I'm Nina De León. Meister. A pleasure to meet you all." Her words were calm, a stark opposite of Arma's, containing her emotions was something she had to do, especially after the many suspensions she faced.... Nina didn't want it to happen again.

Wowie... The words came as an afterthought in the back of his head. It was huuuuge! I mean, he'd seen the pictures and all, it was to be expected; it just didn't give it full justice. The stairs were... arduous, to say the least, but seeing the building grow larger as he scaled them made it almost enjoyable. The aesthetic of horns and spikes appealed to him. He'd have to get some spikes and skulls of his own.

Already at the bottom he saw the shapes moving upwards and knew he wouldn't be the first to appear, and it made him excited. Who would he meet? What would they be like? How difficult would it be to make them rever him? Maybe they wouldn't, but they were going to like him. He was sure. Who wouldn't like him? He was disarming like none other. Slowly the corners of his mouth curled into a sweet smile. What would the girls be like? Athletic and hot, no doubt, this was a very physical education. Producing the name tag from his pocket and fastening it to the breast pocket of his shirt he was positively shining with joy. There was not a hint of doubt in his mind that he'd always been very different from everyone else; no, above everyone else. This was an academy for extraordinary people, they'd be happy to receive him!

He reached the top of the stairs to the scene of five students already haphazardly getting to know one another. Just ahead of him was a girl with bright white hair, and rounding her to lean forward to look around her curls he noted that she also shared his uniquely colored eyes. Realizing his odd behavior, he almost jumped back from her and covered his mouth as he giggled, revealing - if momentarily - the bandages wrapped around his knuckles. "Haha, sorry! I'm Quinn! I was just interested, we look a little alike..." He trailed off innocently and lowered his hand from his face. Turning his head back and forth to observe everyone around, he noted that he was at least half-right. The girls were cute. Well, bar the boring, plain looking brown-haired girl with poorly done bangs. Ugh, he hated bangs. The men he ignored entirely.

The disarming smile never left his face as he continued, "This is DWMA right? It has to be. I hope I didn't walk all those stairs for nothing..." He seemed to think over every word, as if he was actually uncertain he was in the right place.

Not even a minute into his odd introduction to the rest of the students here, it became abundantly to the shorty that he'd have to do a lot of the talking, not that he'd mind though anyway. After dealing with such an OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD house for almost his entire life being in a place where he can finally hear himself think would be a solid change of pace. Maybe with that extra noise space he'd actually be able to muster up an extra braincell or two to figure out how to keep a conversation going! NAH... If they ran outta things to talk about Arma knew a bunch of ways to keep himself and by extension others occupied, but he'd burn that bridge when he got to it ya know? All there was to do now was just read the totally nonexistent room and resonate with the vibe. Ah crap... mind's wanderin' again. With a quick knock on his noggin, his focus was placed back into reality and outta his own thoughts, realizing how much he had startled the hooded girl from her weird reaction. Despite their close proximity he couldn't make out much of her features aside from the FRIGGIN' COOL cloak she seemed to wear, and her drooping head didn't help too much.

Even with her nervous reaction though, Arma would simply tilt his head in confusion. "Viola? OH like the instrument? That's a sweet name! Do you play it? One of my cousins used to play it but she SUCKED at it, always making that irritatin' screeching noise that made me wanna blast my speakers right on the wall that was next to her room!" He would chuckle with self satisfaction at his own idea, the loud mouthed meister beginning to rock back and forth on the heels of his sneakers as he did some light tap dancing to distract himself from immense boredom. Without thinking, he would ask: "So where ya from? I know some people actually grew up here but I'm not from here at all! This place is all new to me and its got me friggin' PUMPED!"

As two more people seemed to arrive, one of them introducing themselves as Nina and the other a boy who seemed really focused on her, introduced himself as Quinn. Arma would quickly turn his head toward them and his hand would shoot up, like a kid who DESPERATELY wanted to answer the teacher's question. "Nice to meetcha Nina! Name's Arma! I got a little sister with your name! Ain't that wild?" His eyes would shift over to the guy, a cheeky grin on the dude's face. "Aye! Your name's Quinn right? I'm Arma! Hope we can be buddies!" After all of that, his eyes would quickly shift back towards Viola, a stupid grin plastered on him. "Sorry 'bout that! Don't wanna seem rude!"

Guitar Girl.pngCadence Harper
The twins hadn't been quiet for more than five seconds the entire time they'd been in the car.

Cadence thought, idly, that she'd miss them. The group - her mother, father, and two brothers - had already been to her accommodations to drop off her single suitcase. She'd brought everything else with her. You could never be too careful.

She slipped her headphones around her neck as the academy came into view. Her parents weren't talking at all; a dull news program she'd have some chance at hearing if not for the 'tweenagers' played in the background. Her eyes drank in the awe-inspiring size of the academy. She'd seen pictures, of course, but size wasn't something that awed you in a photograph. Coda - the more outspoken of the twins - turned his head to give her a lopsided grin.
"You're gonna be a hero, Cad!" All-to-enthusiastic. She rolled her eyes. Brio's shoulders raised, a silent snicker at his twin's proclamation. "Sure she is."

"Maybe I won't give you a tour when you pick me up for winter break." Her hand pulled on the car door's handle as the car slowed in front of the academy. It opened, but she waited until the car was fully stopped, smiling at the chorus of groans. "C'mon, Cad, don't be like that."

"Love you, dorks. Love you mom. Dad."

She jumped out of the car, slung the instrument's very homemade case over her shoulders, and made her way up the steps. She just barely caught the introductions - walking almost directly behind a grey-haired boy. Cadence didn't look back to the car. Her clothing was casual; a lapel-sticker that looked similarly made by hand adorned the chest-height hem of her open sweater. She hoped nobody would mind that she'd taken some liberties after receiving the weapon sticker in the mail. If they did, she had the old one in a pocket, but that was so boring.

"You're already getting to know each other. That's, uh, great. I'm Harper. Or Cadence. Cadence Harper."
A grimace. "It's nice to meet you guys."

Erik Muller

To say that Nevada was a definite change of scenery that took getting used to was an absolute understatement. He was used to trees and green grass and rain and clouds. Death City was most definitely an appropriate name for a place Erik felt he would die of heatstroke at any time in. He had already gone through half a gallon's worth of water in the past five minutes. The steps that led to Death Weapon Meister Academy seemed infinite as the man, pulling a suitcase in one hand, holding his leather jacket and guitar-case in the other over his back. What a shitty environment to be semi-formal. A white button-up with rolled up sleeves and unbuttoned til a bit past the neck, black vest and loose tie, black slacks and shoes, they made him feel like he was in hell as he sweated profusely while he trudged up the steps in the burning sunlight. No doubt he'd get sunburned somewhere. Originally, he had put his Meister tag on his leather jacket, but it being beyond far too hot to wear it, he settled for slapping it on his forehead where he [hopefully] wouldn't forget it, though the corners wilted from the sweat on his face, though it still stuck... somehow.

With heavy breath painfully panting, and what felt like years on end, Erik saw other people on the steps. Unsure if they were real or not, due to the weather he despised so much, and due to the exhaustion of the seemingly endless stairway [he was never much for cardio exercises], he collapses to his knees, exasperated.

"If y'all are real," he managed, exasperated, through his loudly exhausted breath. "I don't suppose anyone has some water to spare or something?"

He looked through squinted eyes as the bright day took it's toll on his eyes and the heat and stairs sapped his muscled of energy. It was a bit hard to tell, but he was sure there were five... no, six people around. Hopefully at least one of them wasn't some kind of hallucination like some desert oasis cliche, and even more hopefully they'd have some water or something. Something cool. Anything, really.

Fuck, it's hot out.

Sebastian Yumi
Although he knew orientation wasn’t scheduled until Sunday, Sebastian had always been one to be ahead of the game. He’d gone and found himself a small little studio apartment in Death City and moved in two weeks ahead of time so that he could adjust to new surroundings, learn where all the essential locations were, and do some observatory research of the school he was going to become a student of in a very short amount of time. He hadn’t been able to learn too much ahead of time that he didn’t already know, but having time to adjust was beneficial nonetheless.

There was one thing he didn’t do in the two weeks he’d occupied Death City, though. Sebastian Yumi had not forced himself to climb the immense staircase that led up to Death Weapon Meister Academy’s entrance. Yes, he was well aware that it was something he would have to do when classes started and he already could guess that it would be his least favorite part of going to class every day, but that didn’t motivate him in the slightest to torment himself more than he would need to. After all, Sebastian was more of a bookworm than an athlete and exercise wasn’t high on his list of priorities. It wasn’t like he needed the exercise anyway. The teenager already had a thin and lanky form that made it very clear any muscle he had was poorly developed at best. It wasn’t needed in his mind.

The fact that he’d put off climbing the staircase for so long made it that much more terrible when the day came that he actually had to do it, though. Sebastian took his time. He saw multiple students climbing along with him, all of them going faster than him, but he didn’t care and he didn’t see any reason why it should bother him in the slightest. Their opinion of him would probably be damaged more if he arrived at the top panting and unable to catch his breath, anyway. Taking his time meant he could make a better impression when he got to the top.

When Sebastian finally arrived at the top, it was easy for him to see that everyone was already getting friendly. Although he wasn’t necessarily out of breath from climbing the stairs, talking to everyone still sounded like too much work at that exact moment. If anyone wanted to get to know him, they were welcome to do so, but he just walked over to the nearest rail and leaned against it before sliding down to the point of sitting on the cobblestone.

It certainly wouldn’t have been intimidating for anyone to approach him in the slightest. He wore a brown long-sleeved overshirt, a white and orange striped t-shirt underneath it, and he had a pair of eyeglasses resting on his nose. Staring up at the clouds, Sebastian briefly wondered how long they would be waiting before the orientation officially started. Who would be giving it? So many questions… only time would unveil the answers.

Kyleigha Ford
The brunette meister’s face lit up with a soft smile when the student she’d approached accepted her greeting and took it a step further to bring her hand to his lips and offer a gentle kiss. It wasn’t something she’d expected in the slightest, but it certainly wasn’t unwelcome. The situation was more one where if anyone had asked her what to expect from her fellow students, she would not have replied that she anticipated any sort of formality at all. So it was a pleasant surprise.

“Nice to meet you,” she said casually. “I’ll be sure to remember the name.” And she meant it, too. Learning names was the first step to forming alliances and alliances would be needed to be productive at the DWMA from what she understood. Teamwork was almost always valuable in some respect.

One greeting aside, Kyleigha’s attention returned to the rest of their growing class, only this time, she took it in with different eyes - soul seeing eyes. The loud one obviously drew her attention and she struggled to follow the soul that bounced wildly in every which direction imaginable. Immediately, a grimace took over her expression as she tried to imagine the near painful focus it would require to resonate with such a thing. She hoped it wasn’t a task that was assigned to her and she was absolutely delighted when she heard him say he was a meister. It freed her of any chance of having to resonate with him… at least, as a partner, she was free of the possible assignment.

Nina introduced herself and caught Kye’s attention next. Kyleigha’s attention quickly drifted away, though, when Nina also specified that she was a meister. It wasn’t that she didn’t care about making friends with other meisters, but those were less pressing alliances to work on at the moment. She needed a partner first and foremost.

The next person to actually grab Kyleigha’s attention was Harper. Or… Cadence. Or… both? The easiest way to clarify would be through conversation so that’s the approach she took.

“Is there a name you prefer to go by?” Kyleigha asked as she approached and held out a hand. “Or is what we call you just up to us? I’m Kye, by the way.” After taking a brief moment to look the newcomer over, Kyleigha’s eyes lit up at the sight of a weapon tag. Finally another potential partner. “I like what you’ve done with your tag,” she added, hoping a compliment would ease them into conversation.

As quickly as Kyleigha had left, so too did the plastic smile that he had forced upon himself; his facial expression returning to its default neutrality. The need to put on a mask was temporarily out on hold now that she had departed. Meanwhile the hand he had used to shake Kye's own was now pocketed once more, fingers fumbling with the weapon tag as his gaze scanned the rest of students that were gradually beginning to pour in. How many had been accepted to the academy,he had to wonder? His gaze shifting from person to person as he momentarily envisioned one of them being his potential partner. Whilst Introductions were a required task of any partnership, Kasper could not deny that he much preferred observing first rather than entering the relationship blindfolded. Alas, he'd take this opportunity now to observe quietly,

A silver haired lass, slightly shorter than he was had arrived just after Arma, the boy with the golden streak whose name Kasper had managed to overhear due to his energetic introduction a few seconds prior. Considering how everyone had been so far, Arma surely stood out the most considering how 'hyper' he had been thus far; not that that was a problem. The hyper ones tended to draw in the bigger crowds with their radiance, though that only ever made it easier for those 'behind the scenes' to get away with things unnoticed. Of course, too much brightness was also problematic, judging by how his approach had startled Viola; the girl whom had yet to reveal much about herself . From the little Kasper had managed to observe, she appeared to be a bit skittish.

Like Arma, Nina had revealed herself to be a Meister as well, though her introduction was far more composed than his. Kasper whom himself tended to 'hide' things about himself, could not help but feel that Nina too was doing the same. Whilse her calmness came through quiet well, Kasper could not deny that he felt a hint of it being 'forced'.

Like a roller coaster deviating between highly energetic to calm and controlled then back to energetic, the next student to introduce themselves was Quinn; A meister judging from the tag he wore. Again, not lacking in the enthusiasm, Quinn had essentially ambushed Nina from the get go; the other boy mentioning something about their similar traits before turning to acknowledge the rest of those gathered here... at least most of them. Kasper could have sworn that Quinn had just looked right through him as if he wasn't even there; that moment were their eyes were normally locked not happening this time round. It also seemed apparent that his gaze tended to last much longer whenever his head was turned towards the opposing gender. This one was going to be a problem.

Next on this roller coaster of introductions was Cadence, the girl whom Kyleigha had gone towards. An instrumental case slung over her shoulders and headphones draped around her neck, it was obvious where her interested leaned towards. Eyes drawn towards her 'custom' tag adorning the sweater she wore, she was indeed the most 'artistic' one out of their motley bunch thus far. Though that itself hadn't been the main 'draw'. Unlike everyone else besides Kasper, she like him was a weapon; and considering his own 'state', he could not help but feel a twinkle of curiosity as to what her weapon form was like. Despite his travels with Rosalia, Kasper had been the only demon weapon in their crew. Meeting another was surely a first for him; though his curiosity was not enough to cause him to go over and introduce himself.

It was only when she turned ever so slightly that Kasper noticed the guy collapsed behind her, the muscle built man whose stature more than likely dwarfed any of the other men here currently gasping for breath and by the sound of it water. Had the stairs really drained him this much? A genuine smirk had formed upon his lips at the irony and as if on cue another boy again easily dwarfed by Erik had arrived, the boy seemingly unfazed by the stairs. This time, Kasper had to turn away from everyone else as he stifled a laugh.

A forced smile.

After a long - too long - moment of staring at the hand, something seemed to click behind her eyes, and Cadence put her own forward. She squeezed a little too hard as she shook, as if especially focused on providing a firm handshake over a comfortable one, as if that social cue was drilled into her brain.
"Either one works. People at school called me Harper, mostly. It's nice to meet you. "

She looked down to her tag. Her face burned, and there was another too-long pause, as if the girl was trying to determine whether she was being teased. "Thank you." A moment of silence as she looked over the group, then back to the girl before her. "I like to make stuff. With my hands, I mean."

The others were commanding attention with their conversations, and it was hard to focus, but as Cadence let out a soft heave of air she seemed to relax a bit. There were lots of people not talking much. She wasn't the only one. It was okay. Splitting attention was difficult but possible.

"Do you... do anything like that? Play an instrument or something?"

Soon after Nina's arrival, another came up the stairs, almost immediately locking eyes with her for a moment, as he approached her almost immediately, as if getting a look of her. It slowly freaked with her, something was off about him, he seemed quite unsettling, it was apparent the cool and collected nature of Nina, while hard to see at first, was a forced nature, yet looking at this new person wore whatever morbid curiosity on his sleeve. As Nina adjusted, he leapt back quickly, with a giggle and a show of the bandages on his knuckles... Was he attempting to start something? Before her question could be thought through, the boy spoke, his tone seemed quite excited from his laughter,

"Haha, sorry! I'm Quinn! I was just interested, we look a little alike..."

That
was his excuse? The fact that the two looked similar? Sure, it was uncanny that both Nina, and the boy Quinn, had the same eye colour, and possible home, but to immediately look over someone like that without any warning was concerning to say the least. As he looked to the other students, Nina took a gradual step back, personal space was needed for a moment, though, the boy Quinn spoke again,"This is DWMA right? It has to be. I hope I didn't walk all those stairs for nothing..." After a moment, allowing Nina to get the right words, she responded in kind,

"Sí. This is the place given." Her response was short and to the point, though her attention was divided to the other boy, Arma, who spoke quicker than expected, it took a moment for Nina to fully catch what was said, partially due to her lackluster English, while not entirely her fault, she did spend some time away from classes due to roughing up her classmates... But that was brushed aside,

"Nice to meetcha Nina! Name's Arma! I got a little sister with your name! Ain't that wild?" He asked, while Nina took a moment to think of a response to that, how does one even respond to that for that matter? It was delivered so quickly then moved along like nothing was said, where was he from where someone could keep up with the speed of which he talks? (Oh the irony...) Though, she replied to Arma in kind,

"I am not surprised, Arma, Nina is quite a popular name." Maintaining her calm, Nina knew she was a little overwhelmed, but tried to force herself through it anyway, she had to get used to this.

Quinn tilted his head and looked over when he heard a greeting sent his way. A boy with this e-boy vibe had greeted him from across the courtyard, and he just raised his hand to send a small wave and a friendly smile back at this Arma fellow, then looked back at the girl. "Oh is that Spanish? Mexican? I don't know the intricacies." He asked off-handedly while trying to keep up with interactions going on around him. Behind him a couple new faces showed. Another cute girl, some plain looking fellow, and a big hulking guy who dealt extraordinarily badly with the weather. "Excuse me just a little..." He excused himself and took a few steps over to the panting guy. "Haha, I like your tag!" He laughed, and noted Erik's name stuck to his forehead with sweat and dust. "You can have this, I don't mind." He spoke, still with an innocent tone as he produced a bottle of water from his bag and set it in front of the man.

The plain looking girl appeared to greet the cutie, and he decided to remember their names. Kye and Cadence Harper. He couldn't imagine himself getting a use out of the former, but who knew. Instead, he turned back to try to talk to Nina once more, but paused when he noticed the tall dark fellow across the yard eyeing him. What's his problem? Does he want his ass kicked? Quinn pondered, but it's not something he showed. Tall dark guy feels rude. Noted.

"So uh, isn't there supposed to be a teacher here to greet us?" He asked, once more directed towards Nina. She hadn't reacted to him like he'd want. Reserved, maybe shy? This was a place for extraordinary people after all, the personalities had to be distinct. Would it be harder to make an imprint here? No way. He'd just have to be more careful. Eloquent. Tactful. "Oh, I'm sorry, maybe you don't like talking too much. That's okay too." His hands were obscured by the jacket he somehow felt comfortable in despite the weather, and only his fingers were visible as he held up his hands apologetically. "Maybe you know?" He turned to Erik, the dehydrated hunk. "I wonder how we'll be paired with weapons. Maybe we have to make friends first? Would you guys like to be friends? Like that Arma guy. I don't know anyone here."

kenny-kong-galaxyhoodgirl2.jpg There was a lengthy pause from Viola's response. She mentally scolds herself for sounding small. When no reply was given, Viola shifts her head a few degrees enough to peek from her peripheral vision. It seems the boy was lost in his own world. Her gaze must have returned Arma back to reality as he complimented her name. Again, Viola nods sheepishly in acknowledgment to both the compliment and instrument. "N-no, I don't play it--although it would be silly." She scoffed. Slowly, her nerves subside as she intently listens to the lad chatter about himself. One thing the girl is good at is listening and patience. The question of her residency slightly tensed her up. "I live here, in this city. Born and raised." She wasn't used to meeting people near her age, and especially loud ones. Viola didn't have to read the teen in order to know what sort of soul he is. It shows externally, and that is a beautiful thing in her eyes. 'The ones true to themselves show it both inside and out.' She mentally quoted. 'I think I get it now.'

Blinded by admiration, for the second time, Viola failed to notice another student's approach. The white-haired girl introduces herself as Nina. The pleasantries did not cease there, as one after another begin to ascend from the stairs. All gather toward her. In the back of her mind, the black-haired girl felt stares. Anxiety rising and paranoid thoughts swirling in her head. Voices get louder staring at each individual's lips, exchanging words. Her breathing grows hefty, she clutches her chest. She felt she was going to explode as she sweats profusely thinking 'they can see me.' The girl shuts her eyes tight hoping for an escape. A student collapses in the center of the courtyard, gaining everyone's attention. The perfect time to sneak away and just hide behind one of the pillars in the courtyard to catch her breath and collect herself.

Now plopped on the ground leaning against promised structure. Slowly, her heart rate decreases. "Thank goodness." She sighed. "This is not how I imagined this day would go. I thought I would be ready and I know I have to be ready." Viola closes her eyes once more chanting, "Adapt".

Lily stared at the large crowd standing at the bottom of the steps of the academy, she knew none of the faces but they all knew hers. Their excited yells filled her ears as she waved to the people beneath her Damn its good to be a death scythe Lily walked up to the podium before pointing at a reporter below. ”I’ll take your question first, please everyone try to quiet down so I can hear him.” but the crowd doesn’t quiet down they scream louder hearing their hero’s voice.

”Lily I was just wondering as a weapon, how did you defeat a Kishin all on your own with no help from a Meister?” Lily nodded at the man.

”As a descendent of Maka and Soul, I am naturally incredibly talented. After training at the academy it was easy for me.” she casually explained the cameras kept flashing and the question kept coming. Lily gripped the podium, something wasn’t right. She looked at her watch, she was still in a deep sleep and her alarm hadn’t gone off yet?? Was she just getting good rest in? Lily slowly opened her eyes and stared at her ceiling. The sun was creeping in from her bedroom window much to Lily’s horror.

The small girl leapt out of bed quickly jumping in the shower and getting ready for school. She threw on her clothes and ran down stair where her mother and father were sitting casually at the breakfast table.

”Lily are you seriously late on the first day?” her mother nagged as her father looked over his shoulder to look at the mess of a daughter they had created who was currently cussing under her breath as she tried to tie her shoe laces as fast as possible.

”Not cool, your gonna make one hell of an entrance.” Her father mocked as Lily stood up she grabbed a piece of toast.

”Yeah yeah I know! I’m late! Love you both bye!” she burst out the door running the whole way to the academy. Luckily they didn’t live too far from it, it was actually about a block away. She waved to a few of the neighbors who recognized her each one of them joking about her being late. Jesus Christ does EVERYONE know what time I’m supposed to be at school? as annoyed as she was about everyone shaming her tardiness she tried to focus on getting to school. Hi, my name is Lily, I’m a weapon and my one goal in life is to become the most powerful death scythe! Because of my lineage I have some big shoes to fill and I look forward to working with you all! Yeah that sounds awesome, should I shake hands? She’d practiced her intro all last night and still wasn’t sure of her introduction. She finally stopped running as she came to the steps of the academy, she’d forgotten about the daunting stairs and was already wore out. Its ok I’m not that late. It’s just orientation anyways no one cares if your late she told herself as she took the first step the school bells rang prompting her to resume her run. Even if nobody else would care, it would bother her if she didn’t try.

She reached the top out of breath and exhausted. She fell to her hands and knees she looked up and scanned the room. It looked like everyone had pretty much formed little groups already. She wiped the sweat dripping off her forehead as she got up I wish I would’ve brought some water, I’m just gonna play that moment of weakness off. She told herself as she stood up and straightened out her outfit. She walked to the info desk and grabbed her weapon name tag. Not like anyone’s going to want a weapon that’s a hot mess on the first day. She thought to herself as she looked around to see if anyone was standing off by themselves before noticing a guy with brown hair holding a water bottle. She approached him her face still beat red from running ”Would you mind if I had a sip of that? I’ll trade you for a whole bottle if you want a piece of toast.” She joked as she held up her perfectly toasted slice. She figured he wouldn’t trade but maybe it would be a good conversation point or maybe the heat and the run had gotten to her head and nobody cared about her toast maybe she was just going down the slow descend to madness. Either way the toast kind of amused her.

As more and more students seemed to come into view, the loudmouth meister's attention would split between the the hooded girl and the other arriving students, until at one point she seemed to suddenly disappear from his sight! Extremely weirded out and confused, the young man's head would turn back and forth trying to look around for the vanished companion. Accidentally revealing his flexibility and balance, his back would arch above the concrete railing that acted as his seat with his head hanging upside down from the other side of it as he looked around for where Viola could have gone. With a quick heave, his body would be brought back up to its normal upright position as both his hands shot up in the air as to get the attention of the new arriving students. "Yo! Name's Arma! Nice to meet you guys!" His focus would first be toward Cadence, the shorty kicking himself off of the concrete railing and onto the floor as he gave a quick salute to the girl. "You an artist? That's friggin' SWEET! One sec!" Almost immediately he would step up to Erik and whistle in amazement: "Dude you are... TALL! Why'd ya dress like an office monkey? You should've been in something a LOT more comfortable! Hold on!" Arma's eyes would catch onto another quiet kid, someone who didn't seem to have anyone tryna talk to him, and his eyes would light up in excitement.

Once again leaping from where he was over to the bespectacled student, his eyes would immediately be drawn toward the nametag that read: Weapon. NICE! FOUND ONE! His self satisfaction would immediately be apparent to the dude if he had bothered to look down from the sky, as there was a rambunctious idiot with a stupid grin on his face. "HEY HEY! You're a weapon right? Nice to meetcha! Arma, Meister extraordinaire! How 'bout you?" Before any sort of response could be given, the boy's ears perked up as he heard his native language. Eyes widened with surprise, he turn on his heel and point at Nina: "¿Tú también hablas español? ¡Qué genial!" (You also speak spanish? How great!) Swiftly turning back around, Arma would scratch the back of his neck: "Sorry 'bout that! Got excited! So what's your weapon form? My brothers back home were a switchblade and halberd!"

Kyleigha Ford
It wasn’t too hard for Kyleigha to pick up on the fact that something wasn’t necessarily flowing the most adeptly in her conversation with Cadence Harper. There were pauses that lasted just a little too long and it also seemed as though the other girl wasn’t the most comfortable with the situation as it presently stood. Granted, Kyleigha wasn’t a social butterfly, either, but she was trying to be friendly so that some positive groundwork was set for the rest of the school year, and for the rest of their school careers if everyone present ended up sticking around.

“I think I’ll call you Harper, then, if that’s alright with you,” Kyleigha decided when Harper explained that it was the name people called her at school. It made sense since the DWMA would be their new school now. At least, it made sense in Kye’s mind.

She smiled when the girl tried to continue the conversation going off of her nametag. Kyleigha was glad she had commented on it because otherwise it seemed as though their first interaction would’ve fallen on dead water. She nodded along, making eye contact as appropriate even though her brain was busy trying to process all the concentrated energy around them. The one hyper soul was still being very very loud and it was hard to completely block that out of her mind.

When it was her turn to comment, Kyleigha didn’t have much to add. “I’ve never really been a very creative person. Well, let me rephrase that. I’ve never been crafty. I was very creative when it came to coming up with ways to cause trouble when I was younger because I had so many older siblings to prove myself to, but I never really thought to take some of that energy and direct it into a creative hobby of any kind.” She’d been too focused waiting on magic powers that never actually came. That didn’t feel pertinent to their present conversation, though.

“I do think they’re very unique and useful skills to have, though. If I could redo some of my childhood knowing some things I know now, I think I would’ve tried to learn something of the creative arts.” It would’ve been a trait that would’ve allowed her to stand out among her siblings without having to have magic to do so.

Sebastian Yumi
Sebastian’s eyes had remained focused on the sky for as long as they possibly could have. That didn’t mean he was ignorant to everything else, though. He heard the footsteps of the student who apparently found him interesting. Sebastian couldn’t imagine why given the crowd they were with, but it also wasn’t really a question worth asking because the answer would probably be just as dull as Sebastian was trying to make himself out to be.

As soon as the other student started talking to him, though, Sebastian had to shift his gaze. The student certainly talked big… and loudly. Sebastian wasn’t used to loud. Usually, no one talked to him at all because he wasn’t one for engaging others. One or two words here or there was usually enough to get by. Any more was too much effort. With Arma, it didn’t seem like anything was too much effort.

He nodded when Arma asked if he was a weapon and haphazardly gestured to his name tag which labeled him as such.

His eyes followed Arma’s when Arma’s attention drifted away momentarily. Sebastian was honestly surprised when the meister’s attention actually returned to him, though. He would’ve thought that whatever stole his attention would’ve made Sebastian invisible again. Apparently not, though.

“I’m just a recurve bow,” Sebastian answered the direct question, attempting to downplay what he was with the addition of the word ‘just.’ He didn’t think his weapon form would impress Arma too much because it seemed Arma was more interested in bladed weapons. He couldn’t blame him, either. After all, usually it was the fighters who got up close and personal who ended up going down in history. Sebastian himself didn’t plan to go down in history. Sure, he still hoped to be awesome, but he didn’t expect to be a main character. He’d be more like his ancestor Azusa.

It felt like sheer chance that their eyes had finally met; that feeling you get when you realize that someone is returning your gaze with their own. Like Oil meeting Water, Kasper knew from that moment that he and Quinn had the potential of butting heads at some point, something about him just seeming to rub Kasper the wrong way, likewise he wouldn't have doubted it in the slightest if Quinn felt the same way about him. If life thus far had thought him one thing, it was that it would be impossible to get along 100% with everyone. Relationships required a give and take mentality and for the most part, Kasper just wanted to take. Only a seldom few had ever 'received' anything from him and now that was 1 fewer since Rosalia's disappearance.

At heart, Kasper could not deny that he was a predator, someone who would not hesitate to pull the trigger and make the hard choice... someone who secretly revelled in the pleasures gained from playing the bad guy and reaping the rewards that came from that unrestricted freedom. Of course, Kasper would never admit this to others as the act of putting on the mask and playing the facade of someone with his sanity still intact was rather joyful. Brushing all that aside, Kasper could shake the feeling that he had thus far only seen one side of the coin that was Quinn and like a cat, his curiosity to know the true face of this potential 'problem' would eventually get the better of him. Of course, now was neither the time nor the place for it. For that brief moment where they had locked eyes, Kasper merely smiled, a hollow smile.

Tearing himself away before losing himself to the temptation of stirring the pot, Kasper glanced back towards Erik, whom by now had been joined by a long white haired girl, who like Erik was now keeled over and panting; the stairs claiming its second victim in quick succession. Though she seemed to recover quiet quickly as she stood and dusted herself off before proceeding to walk up to Erik; toast in hand as she tried to barter for his beverage.

Meanwhile, Arma continued with his enthusiasm on overdrive as he bounced between people; the golden streaked personification of 'unlimited energy' bouncing from one person to another before even getting the answers to the questions he had asked. If there had to be a reason for people appearing to lack 'energy', Kasper was sure it was due to Arma hogging it all for himself. Though had it not been for his cheery and active demeanour, Kasper would not have realised that the boy to arrive just after Erik was also a weapon. Almost instantly, Kasper's attention was drawn towards Sebastian, just like it had been for Cadence when he read her weapon tag; though the latter didn't appear like she'd reveal her form anytime soon. Sebastian on the other hand was asked directly by Arma and had Kasper been more open to showing emotions; he'd have given the bouncing bundle of hype a big thumbs up. Thus far, the biggest source of information was coming from his actions; from responding and revealing Nina's heritage to asking about Sebastian's weapon form. If only he could ask Cadence as well after all, Knowledge was power and he'd rather know about others before actually getting to know them.

That logic however was currently being hindered by one individual, the cloaked one whom had arrived here even before Kasper had. Thus far she had revealed the least about herself, the hooded apparel hiding what she wore underneath; the clothing choices often a tell tale hint as to what someones preferences were. Her skittishness and soft spoken voice that made her words inaudible to Kasper, hinted at someone seemingly shy, yet beyond all that Kasper could not deduce anything else. She was an enigma for now, a hidden 'code' that if given the chance, Kasper would relish the challenge of deciphering her. But as it was with Quinn, his need to satiate his curiosity and innate predatory desires would have to be put on hold for now.

The sound of footsteps coming up from the other new students yet to arrive was just about audible now, with Kasper turning his head back towards the stairs.

Water. What a blessing. So, hopefully, the heat wasn't making him hallucinate just yet. As the bottle was offered to him, he bowed his head in thanks and took what was offered, speaking with a lessening exasperation from the torturous climb.

"You are a lifesaver friend. I owe you one."

After popping of the lid, Erik happily splashed a little water on his face before taking a sip, a pleasant and genuinely warm smile formed. At least this place wasn't total hell. It appears he wasn't the only one who wasn't particularly fond of the trip to the top.

”Would you mind if I had a sip of that? I’ll trade you for a whole bottle if you want a piece of toast.”

Wiping the sweat from his brow, careful not to rip off his meister tag, and taking the bottle of water from his lips, he looked at the white haired girl asking for water. He grinned brightly as he reached out with the bottle of water.

"I'd prefer to still have some m'self, but I'm happy to share. No toast necessar-"

"Dude you are... TALL! Why'd ya dress like an office monkey? You should've been in something a LOT more comfortable! Hold on!"

The sudden interruption blanked out his mind, his response delayed before anything came out. Whoever this dude was, they sure were energetic as hell. Of course, it wasn't surprising as they left mid-answer.

"I was told this place doooooos uniforms..."

Erik couldn't help but scratch the back of his head. He supposed it would be stranger if the weren't all sorts here.

"Yeah, I get that," the girl affirmed, although it was clear from her flat tone that she didn't. "I don't blame you. It's hard to learn new skills when you don't feel good at them."
Obviously. A small shake of the head at her own words. Embarrassing. Her left hand clenched the shoulder strap of the instrument case hung across her back. Her cut-short nails glimmered with chipped nail polish.

The girl broke the awkward silence, shifting from foot to foot. She could feel the heat pressing down on her. No, maybe not the heat. Maybe something else. Anxiety?

"It's kind of ironic, actually," she said, "that the first time I ever... like, transformed - at least partially transformed - that I absolutely wrecked the canvas I was working on. The wire went right through it, it was crazy, like crazy cool but also crazy upsetting. I spent so long on that thing and it was ripped in half. Just like that." A clumsy snap of her other hand's fingers, and she smiled, more to herself than the other girl. "Barbed wire. Or, brass knuckles, but there's lots of barbed wire involved. It's hard to explain."

Her smile seemed easier, less stressed, now. She checked the group again. Nobody seemed to be having a much easier time with socialization than she was.

A black-haired boy, just watching. A very hyper one she didn't feel like she had the energy to engage with. A girl with a cute beanie who seemed as awkward as she felt. Water bottle banter - one of the guys, in a suit that felt, just, way too formal for the occasion. A boy whose bandages were as noticeable as his wide, innocent eyes. She'd fit in just fine.

She turned away, then, or not away so much as opening her body language to the group.
"I'd like to be friends. I think I'll get along with all of you, actually. We seem fairly... balanced." Her eyes flicked briefly to Arma - full of energy - as if doubtful of her own remark, but she did not indicate that verbally as her gaze returned to Quinn.

"Um what is he doing?" "Did someone lose their kid?"

"Awww who's child is it?" "So adorable!"

Ignorant of the comments radiating in the background small brown slacks simply tapped the stony progress, the trip was long enough already, and he'd been stopped a little too much for his liking. Today was Sunday. Was that right? Carlin never attended school normally before so "why start now" played off his tongue. However hearing so much about this academy from his pseudo guardian probably caused some unwarranted increases in expectation. Others may have marveled or gawked at the material structure praising it for its unique mark topside this already unique location, Carlin did not. He couldn't give less than a zero about the cryptic castle gnawing the ends of his vision. Actually bringing negative numbers did come to mind, but he felt he got the point across. That building currently waiting a new set of rascals to engage in its bullshit wasn't even a worry. No he was concerned about something else. Someone else. A green and yellow blur dusted in between bodies and around conversations gradually clogging the behemoth that was the stairwell. He swore they smirked at him. "Challenge accepted!" Went a tiny voice drowned in conviction.

Soaring through the air the babe projectile secured the left railing. Excellent landing as always.

"Hey kid what are you doing!"

"Get down from there before you hurt yourself!"

"One foot in front of the next or you'll trip if you forget! Keep it going times two atta boy speed boost for you!" Sang the jogging child. Carlin kept good upward pace overtaking a fair amount of stragglers and taking quite a bit of eyes. Apparently he looked completely out of place here, --

"Stop it! Get down from there before you fall!"

Prominent, filled with desperation. Yes that last female shout definitely reached him, a thoughtful touch savoring the gold heart locket hanging from his neck as he shredded the railing like cream of wheat. At that moment a lot of people were probably freaking out inwardly. Carlin ran the rest of the way in windy silence, coming upon a small gathering he elected to stop but the behemoth he just scaled came to mind. Well he was running pretty fast anyway. Tap tap tap --whoosh! One minute he was gunning for those physically blocking on the ledge, then the next he was on the other side of them. Did he phase through them? Who knows! Carlin walked away from them to stretch.
