Soul Eater - Apocalypse [RP]

Saji thanked the man before entering the room after Nagisa

"We really gotta find some money somehow, No what we need is to be bounty hunters! That would be the life!!! Right? Anyway, This room is going to be mine I think. It has two beds that I can pull together to make one. Oh and, I am not superstitious like you numbers mean nothing haha! "

Saji walked into the room, It seemed to be the room with the highest ceiling out of all of them although it had lots of missing floorboards and a huge hole in the ceiling in the corner of the room where water had constantly leaked through. The rooms didn't allow much light in, With tiny windows as they are. Saji and Nagisa were practically sat in near darkness.

"Okay, I'll have the other room then." she agreed, "Anyway, I'd like to have a shower and clean up, so I'll come see you in an hour, okay?"

She walked out of the room and closed the door behind her. Her own room was number 15, which looked to be a bit cleaner than it's neighbour. There was only a single bed, a desk and chair, and a wardrobe in the room. She saw a door and went through it to find a small bathroom. She reached for the lightswitch and pressed it to find that the lights didn't work.

She sighed. Wonderful.

There was a candle and some matches on the desk so she grabbed it and took it into the bathroom with her. She spent a while trying to light it and when it eventually lit, she set it down on the side of the sink, grabbed a towl and entered the shower.

Saji pushed the two beds together before lying down on them, placing his hands behind his head. Staring up at the weathered roof

Out of boredom Saji began muttering to himself out loud. "Great, We have no money left and the people of this village don't look the most wealthy. We need to get some more money else we'll be sleeping out in the rough tomorrow night" Saji sighed to himself before getting up to wash his face. He headed towards the small sink, turning on the taps whilst looking at himself in the chipped mirror. It took a while for water to finally flow out of the tap and the pressure wasn't great so the water was rather slow.

"Not the best for showering in haha" he laughed to himself, trying to keep a positive attitude.

He threw handfuls of water onto his face before patting it dry with a towel he found to his left.

He walked back over to his bed and grabbed his bag after rummaging around in the many pockets he took out a small calving of a giraffe, given to him by his younger sister when he left home 2 years ago.

"Sometimes, I miss you guys..." Saji said, smiling at the delicately calved animal

This was a pretty much secret possession, No one knew about it. Not even Nagisa

Nagisa exited the shower feeling refreshed and much happier than when she first arrived. The water came in bursts but wasn't dirty as Saji had previously warned her.

She sat down on her bed and dried herself off, humming as she did so. The room had no hairdryer so she was forced to leave her hair to dry on it's own. She spent her time looking around the room. The wardrobe was of no use as she had very little clothing. For their lifestyle, it was best to travel light, that she knew. And there wasn't much to do at a desk.

After a few minutes of mindless exploring, she got dressed and tied her wet hair into a loose ponytail. She picked up one of the books that had been left in the room for guests and flicked through it. A romance, she realised. Well, she did have some time...

She spent her remaining time reading the novel and after what seemed like an hour, she placed the book back where she found it and went over to Saji's room.

"Saji-kun, are you ready?" she called, knocking on the door.

Saji opened the door to Nagisa whilst adjusting his bandanna "You know, you could've dried your hair and you call me Lazy!"

Saji invited her in and sat down on one of the beds "We have no money left and no food, So I'm going to have to go and steal some. I'll need you to wait here, Okay?"

He got up, leaving his backpack behind "I wont be too long, Okay?" He said before closing the door and heading out of the inn

Market, market...where's the market?
He paced off in a random direction, heading in the direction of the most noise in search of some foodstalls. "It's the middle of summer, yet we must sleep in a run down inn, This woman demands the luxury's in life, I swear.."

As he made it round the corner he came to the market square, He eyed up a few stalls and noticed they were using the same canvas roof. "This may be easier than I thought...." He quickly walked past both stalls cutting the frontal support ropes causing the striped canvas covers to fall over the stalls. As the owners of the stalls panicked he swept an armful of fruit and bread into a small black bag before dashing off around the corner heading towards the inn.

::Kyun emerged from the lab's tunnel shortly after Pyon. It emerged over an overlooking cliff with a village a good ways in the distance, the sun was setting over the horizon, and the lights of a town far away were starting to turn in, and twinkle in the semi-darkness of dusk::

Kyun: "Come Pyon, lets see if we can find us a place to stay?"

::An hour of walking later, and night had fallen. They had finally reached the town, and Kyun set about inquiring about lodging. Trying to act as natural as a cyborg and a android covered with soot, and smelling of ash could, Kyun walked up to one of the shopkeepers who had long since closed his shop, and was locking up for the night::

Kyun: "Excuse me sir, But can you direct us to the cheapest available lodging?"

::The shopkeeper grunted and gestured towards a run down building not far off::

Kyun: "What do you say Pyon, want to give it a try?"

" Hopefully we can stay at that broken down building, it doesn't seem like anyone lives there. " She said, looking at the boarded up windows and wallpaint blistering off.

" I could use a bit to eat, somehow they didn't remove much of my internal organs it seems... "

She unvoluntarily shivered at the unwanted memory.

::Kyun looked at Pyon as if unsure whether or not she was completely android or not::

Kyun: "Oh... you should have told me earlier! I didn't know you even still ATE food... and souls, you still eat souls, right? Otherwise I wouldn't have needed to get foo..."

::He stopped as his stomach growled loudly at him::

Kyun: "Ok, food it is... but where can we get food this late at night?"

" Yeah I do, although they barely fed us in there. And yes, I'm fairly certain I still eat souls. We'll have to test it out to be sure though. "

" I guess we'll have to survive another night without food, it won't be that hard. I'm fairly tired from the escape and all. I should be able to fall "asleep" fast. "

" I wonder what I've become ... "
She said touching the antennas on the side of her head and her metallic, skin-toned arm.

::Kyun rapped sharply three times on the door, and the door opened slowly on it's own, giving off a loud irritating creek as it grated across it's rusty hinges, when it was about three fourths of the way open, the rusty pin holding the hinge together snapped with a loud "POP!", and the the door crashed face first to the ground::

Kyun: "oops..."

::they stepped over the broken door, and entered the smoky dimly lit room, which was more of a bar where people slept than an actual inn. sleazy folk glared at the two young weapons as they entered the room, It smelled sharply of cheep liquor, vomit, smoke, and urine. Kyun stepped over a man who was either out cold, or dead, he really didn't feel like checking, and he felt that he wouldn't like the answer if he did::

Kyun: "Um excuse me... how much does it cost to rent a room for the night?"

::the bartender looked at them as if they were insane::

Pyon's face contorted a bit as they entered the disgusting building. The stench penetrated her nose with the foul smell of a putrid combination of things she doesn't even want to know about.

As the bartender looked at them with a weird face she started getting a weird feeling in the pit of her stomach...she felt like it could be irritation or anger but she wasn't quite sure.

She just said: " Look, we're not asking for the entrance to the magical land of mayonaisse ok ? Give us a room. " She ordered, instead of askin the man.

::The bartender shook his head::

Bartender: "well, there's a small room left, it's still a bit messy from the last guy who used it, and it's missing a door, but it's the only one left. If so that will be ten dollars a night, plus damages..."

::Kyun looked around at all the unfriendly faces in the bar, and looked back. he would rather sleep in a room, door or no door, then out here::

Kyun: {Damages? what is this guy talking about... it couldn't possibly get that bad... we're just here for the night}

Kyun: "Ok, we'll take it."

::they followed the bartender down a dark hallway to a room with no door, it smelled slightly better then the bar, but not by much. there was already someone sleeping in the single bed inside, and the bartender grabbed him by the hair and dragged him off::

Bartender: "We've got paying costumers, so scram!"

::The bartender dragged the half conscious man out of the room, giving Kyun a moment to survey the room. The bed's springs were lumpy, and the sheets were stained. and there was no blanket or pillow. there was a single window with broken glass covered by iron bars that looked more depressing than let in light::

Kyun: "well? home sweet home for the night I guess..."

Pyon gave the bartender a mean look but then compromised with herself and nodded towards Kyun.

" Aye, I'll survive one night in here. "
Laying the emphasis on 'one'.

She crawled onto the bed and layed down on the left side of it, facing the broken down room.

" You get the wall-side "
She said, like she was doing him a favor of some kind.

::Kyun looked at the bead, creaking and groaning under Pyon's less than extensive weight, and sighed::

Kyun: "If we both get on that thing, it's gonna break... I'll sleep on the floor... but first I've got to pay for the room..."

::He dug through his pockets for loose change, then headed out back to the bar to pat the bartender who ran the place::

Bartender: "so? does the room please you?"

Kyun: "That's a joke, right?"

::he grudgingly turned over the money, and returned to the room, removing his jacket and rolling it up to use as a pillow::

" Oky. " She responded as she spread herself over the bed and fell asleep.

Snoring while mumbling in her sleep: " Damn badgers, ruining my mayonnaise-castle ... I'll send my chipmunks! " Before rolling around.

::Kyun slept somewhat less deeply, he planted one foot across the door frame as an obvious deterrent, and kept peeking with one eye in the shifting darkness as people wandered the hallways late at night::

Kyun: {this is going to be a looonnng night...}

::Sometime between two, and three in the morning, Kyun felt something brush his legs, still pretending to be asleep, he peeked with one eye into the gloom of the room and caught a dark figure trying to sneak to the bed. Rolling quickly to a kneeling position, a knife formed at his fingertips, and the tip prodded against the back of the mysterious person::

Kyun: "What do you think you're doing here...?"

Man: "I'm One-Eyed-Willie! I've killed over a dozen men in cold blood, and I heard a little girl came to this place... I wanted to see if the rumors were true..."

Kyun: "Then I'll be taking you're soul..."

::the knife slid through the back, severing the man's spine cord., Willie's eyes went big::

Willie: "You... you're a weapon?!"

Kyun: "No, she is..."

::Willie's body twisted and tore apart revealing a small glowing red soul, Kyun grabbed it, and pocketed it. Time-skip Several hours later, and the sun was rising over the hills, and peeked through the broken window::

Kyun: "wake up Pyon, lets get out of this place..."

Still drowsy from an uncomfortable sleep she rubbed her eyes and stretched her body out long before yawning a high-pitched yawn.

" Did you sleep a bit properly on the ground? "
She asked with a guilty tone in her voice.

" I slept like a brick but I had a weird dream, I was queen of a mayonnaise-kingdom and badgers and chipmunks were battling in an all-out war ... I wonder what my deal with mayonnaise is ... "
She wondered out loud.

::Kyun pondered the thought for a minute::

Kyun: "Maybe because mayonnaise is oil based?"

::He dug in his pocked and pulled out the soul from last night, and tossed it to her::

Kyun:"Here, chew on this till I find us some real food... are you ready to go?"

" Perhaps. "

Her eyes suddenly gleemed red at the sight of the red soul-donut.

" Oom Nyom Nyom Nyom, yah I'm set! "
She mumbled happily with her mouth full of souldonut.

" Where to ? "

::Kyun's stomach grumbled once more::

Kyun: "Wherever there's food... preferably not poisoned, and by the looks of this place, it's likely to be...

lets get outta here and look for a marketplace... there's bound to be some edible food somewhere..."

Pyon burped as she walked alongside Kyun, enjoying the birds chirping in the early morning and the sun shining over the horizon.

" Sure, it's all good... I think I'm slowly getting my, odd, personality back. Quite comforting to know I'm not stuck to remain as a half-robot for life. "
She said smiling slightly.

As they reached the marketplace she leaned over some fruits with her hands behind her back.

" These mandarines cost 3.70 euros / kilo "
the vendor said, looking at the girl's weird appearance with a confused look.

" I'll give you two pennies and a .... cookie for them! "
She said before laughing and walking on, checking the other stalls out.

::After being shooed out of several shops, Kyun stopped at a small vendor steamed fish buns, they looked to be a day old, and re-steamed, but Kyun was hungry enough to not care, he counted his coins and decided what to get::

Kyun: "I'll take three."

::He took out his money, and payed the man, and then went about selecting the three least crusty looking buns::

Kyun: "Here you go, at least it's hot"

::He handed Pyon one of the buns, and started eating the other, pocketing one for later::

Pyon went " Om Nyom Nyom " again and fiercely attacked the bun.

" Mmmyomyomyom "
she mumbled and as a sign of appreciation she patted Kyun on the cheek

" Thanks big-bro, and if it's not obvious, thanks for rescueing me too...I realize what you must've been through in order to save me... I'll never forget it. "

She smiled, with teary eyes.

::Kyun paused for a moment, as if lost in the moment, then resumed chewing::

Kyun: "Don't call me big bro... you know full well you were born three minutes before I was..."

::He laughed, it was an odd sound in this run down part of this run down town, He patted his sister on the head::

Kyun: "But I've grown since you 'died' so I guess that makes me the senior... though I have you to thank for still being alive. You remember what happened a bit over a year ago, right?"

Pyon 'Nyaaa-ed' as she was patted on the head.

" Ptsh, Senior Shmenior, you're my big bro and that's all there is to it. "
She said with a grin before resuming to nyom.

" And yeah, vaguely though, we were the only ones who made it out of our guerilla camp alive before we got separated and they captured me somehow. I remember setting my surroundings ablaze, trees and foileage were all burning before some witchbully floated through them in a pink bubble and with one, or maybe two, attacks knocked me clean out. " She placed the back of her hand against her forehead in a dramatic way and lifted her face up. " Don't cry for meeeeeeee, maaayyoonnaaaiiseeee-laaanndddd! "

She said before gleaming with a broad smile and pounced back on her food.
