Aito Ukita
-----------------
(For squad Miho)

Aito gave a smirk as she watched the contestants take off. A few wire users were going through like spider man, laughing all the way. A few taijutsu specialist saw it as wall jump training, leaping between the columns of stone with ease. Aito gave an 'oof' sign as one team of 'bright' genin from Hanegakure decided she was lying, and tried to tree climb on the rock pillars. The scream resounded as they fell.

"Aren't they summoning specialist? I'm... sure they'll be fine."

"U-uh, actually, that's our sealing squad of genin. Was our squad of sealing genin."

Aito blinked, and pressed an 'on button' on her headset. "Hey, Rokuro, can you pick.... yup, already. Hane. Yeah, yeah, I know. I thought they were summoning specialists too! Far as guesses, well, uh... I can't say that right now. Looks like we won't get our 32 though. Hot damn, did that genin just...-"

In the distance another genin from Inoichi leapt out at the pillars, far too slow for the wall bouncing approach. It looked like he was going to try tree climbing and fall off, only for his gloves hands to dig INTO the rock, creating 10 imprints of his fingers, before jumping to the next column. His teammates followed behind using the imprints.

It was about this time she turned to Waka intime for him to call her 'auntie Aito.' The sound of laughter erupted from the headset, Aito turning it off, and blinking for a second, as if registering it... then began to blush.

"A-auntie!?" She jumped back, flailing her arms as she hovered in the air, swords behind her following the hand direction in a meddley of accidental swipes at the air, thankfully far enough away from anyone to not hurt them.

"Uh... uh... yeah... I'm, uh... proctor, little dude...? D-did you have, any, any, uh, questions, W-waka? I mean, Wakanaka? Tsube? I mean, random ninja from Tsumi I have clearly never seen before...?"

Aito.exe had stopped working.

Ryuuka Tagamatsu
"-And so he said 'Akuma? I hardly know 'er!" Ryuuka said, provoking a chorus of laughter from the trio of Nendogakure genin she had inexplicably made friends with at some point. "And then we- oh is it starting? are we starting? Alrighty guys I gotta go, we should catch up later though, do that movie night am I right?" Ryuuka waved goodbye to her new friends and jogged over to where Shibata and Aya stood.

"Hey guys what are we doing? I wasn't really listening,"Ryuuka said cheerfully. Ryuuka's attitude was noticeably more carefree than the general mood but that didn't seem to bother her. Last night Gramps had given his blessing for her to participate in the exams during a particularly draining sparring session. He had dressed up his agreement with flowery words about her needing to grow as a hero to prevent the coming tragedy and all his usual craziness but Ryuuka knew despite all that he wouldn't let her do anything he didn't think she could handle. So why bother worrying? best to just enjoy the ride, see some new sights, meet some new people, have fun with it you know?

"What's that a tour guide or something?" Ryuuka asked suddenly, noticing the scroll Shibata was holding for the first time. "Oh we should read it! I wanna know if there's any good restaurants to stop at on the way! Dude open it, what's it say?"

Kurio Shimizu
Kurio barely noticed the charged air that made his hair stand on end like some manga protagonist. Instead, his focus was aimed at double and triple-checking his kit as the Tsumigakure genin made their way to the meeting spot. He was nervous, no matter how much he tried to convince himself he wasn't, it didn't shake the feeling. The chunin exams were a big deal, after all. For many genin approaching the Arashi monk, it would be their first real taste of combat.

"Ugh, figures Tsumi would be here to poison the exam." An Inochi genin complained, giving all three teams equally venomous looks.

Kurio's lip twitched with a suppressed frown, he kept his attention on the Arashi nin with the staff in front of them. The jounin had put a temporary stop to the chatter that seemed to ripple through the crowd of gathered genin. There's way more genin here than I thought. Kurio couldn't stop the small gasp of surprise as a scroll shot out and coiled around him, an intricate pattern of seals glowing with chakra. He felt himself being whisked away, the sensation more than a little unnerving.

Deposited at their new location, Kurio took in the mist-covered mountains that now surrounded them. They were still in the Land of Lightning, seeing as the eternal storm continued to rumble around them. He glanced at the Arashigakure genin in the crowd, seeing they looked just as lost as everyone else. Kurio wasn't sure if he should be thankful for this or concerned.

A familiar voice snapped him out of his thoughts for the time being. Kurio turned to see the ranger he'd done a few missions for gliding towards the crowd. He listened to her explain how this part of the exam was going to work. A race to Arashigakure, only 32 genin were allowed to progress. Kurio frowned, that still seemed like a large number of teams for the next stage. Depending on how many scrolls were stolen.

Pointedly ignoring Waka's comment and Aito's panicked reaction, Kurio turned to look down the path she had come up. It was a race to the village and no one really knew the direction they were supposed to be headed. Rokuro had mentioned that the lightning was heaviest near the village, but Kurio had never actually seen the village proper. Would the village really be cruel enough to point them in the wrong direction and say "go"? It was possible, but then who would be lying? Rokuro or Aito?

Or was he just overthinking it?

Ryuuka nagging her teammate to open the scroll caught his attention. A few other genin from Arashi looked at her team as well before nudging each other to open their own. Aito hadn't explicitly said one way or the other if they should open it. Reaching out, he put a hand on Okimi's shoulder, motioning for her to wait. "Feury will be a great way to conserve our energy, but I want to see something first."

Wakanaka
Team Miho

Ganryu Ganryu Hanarei Hanarei

Wakanaka enjoyed Aito's reaction, her waving arms her obvious embarrassment to being called Auntie... Really it just sorta slipped out, but.. hey, if it works. but now, now he had to deal with having the scroll, so.. that was a thing. Fine, but he did.... Noticed her usual bullshit smile... god he hated this girl... Just another one of those attempts to throw him under the wagon...

"Huh."

Next to Waka, Sachiko watched over the side of the cliff as a group of Hane nin plummetted off the side, unable to grab hold of the rocks with tree climbing. A heavy breeze ruffled her hair, but her hat kept in place. Suddenly, a malicious smile filled her face, and she turned towards Wakanaka, motioning with her finger to come over, and began to whisper in his ear. Wakanaka had nodded, seeing what Sachiko was seeing and generally figured it was smart enough to work. They did need another scroll, no sense leaving one to waste after all right?

They were ninja in the end.

But he had to act quickly.

"...Shio, hold on to this." he tossed one end of his chain at her and grasped the other. "Hold tight with chakra threads or you'll lose your anchor, don't come up till you get it." his words we quick, to the point, quite honestly they may as well had been orders.

Orders can save somebody's life.

And orders tend to be parts of a plan.

A plan Sachiko gave him.

A plan that also involved him, grasping onto Shio's shoulder and with a mighty twist of his body, tossed her directly off the edge towards where the Hane nin dissappeared.

The other end of his chain wrapped tightly around his arm, providing a wonderful anchor point for Shio given his extraordinary strength(for a genin at least).

"GET THAT SCROLL!!!" he yelled down at her, planting his feet on the ground, the others would of course see this, for this wasn't hidden in the slightest, the brazen open betrayal and strong arming was clear for all to see.

And in truth, all Waka felt was a feeling of contentment, having at least somewhat gotten back at this backstabbing little shit.

Shibata Yamamoto
Still going through his exaggerated warm-up exercise Shibata watched the other teams take off with varying methods and degrees of success, hearing his teammates speaking up he was pleasantly surprised to hear a bit more energy than usual from Aya as opposed to Ryuuka who still acted like she was playing tag with paper shuriken. "Traps we can set once we're en route and found the right place for them, with everyone open to make their own way to the goal it'll be harder to find effective places for them." He gestured out at the teams ahead using their various skills to advance. He was about to make a snippy response to Ryuuka when he remembered the briefing again. "While I sincerely doubt there's anyone selling udon by the roadside in the middle of an ANBU training ground, I suppose no one said looking at the scroll was forbidden."

Seeing that Wakanaka had seemingly lost interest in his "aunt" and was instead using his teammate to fish for a lost scroll he let his gaze wander further and could see that other teams had overheard Ryuuka's chattering and were either watching them or reexamining their own scrolls, catching Kurio's eye Shibata he waved for both of his teammates to come huddle up. "Alright we're going to take a peek at the scroll, whatever is in here keep quiet." He gave Ryuuka a pointed look then glanced at Aya. "If anyone tries to eavesdrop give us some cover. That includes our supposed comrades, I don't intend to actively attack them but remember that we're still competing with them."

Hesitating for a moment he worried that this might be some forbidden act that would disqualify them, yet he was already confident that the phrasing of their briefing was very specific and by that reasoning if it wasn't expressly against the rules to do something then there wouldn't be any repercussions from the proctors even the ones that hadn't been rendered a floundering mess by unexpected nephews. Having reasoned away his concerns he carefully unrolled the scroll partway.

Tsubame Mochizuki
Tsubame didn't look at the Inochi genin insulting them, even ignoring the taunts thrown back at them. This was the chunin exams. Probably the most important even in her life, even counting the jonin exams. If she didn't become a chunin, there would be no chance for jonin. She had to pass no matter what. But being surrounded by so many foreign genin made her feel like multiple targets were on her back. There was Yoshiro and Kiiro, who were probably still angry with her and Shio, the other Inochi genin who didn't like them, and that she was a Mochizuki. It had been a long time since the days of her clan being mercenaries, but bad history wasn't easily forgotten. Her sensei told her as much.

Ere-sensei blocked a foot meant for her side with a bone shield, her other hand catching the bone chain that came after it. Tsubame's other foot slipped as the chain was yanked, taking her chain-wrapped leg with it, and she cried out as she was tossed over her sensei and into the ground behind her.

"Now then, what have we learned?" Ere asked as Tsubame pushed herself up, coughing.

Tsubame dusted herself off. "I should've made a shorter chain."

"Well, yes. But you were too focused on what your next move should be. It should've been obvious that, should I block your chain, I'd use it against you. You still overthink too much during a battle."

Tsubame bowed. "I'll do better, sensei."

Ere sighed, bone shield fading back into her skin. "You're off to the chunin exams tomorrow, aren't you?"

"Yes, sensei."

"Be careful in Arashi. Like Inochi has despised Tsumi for generations, there will be shinobi your age who hear the name 'Mochizuki' and think of ancient stories of senseless bloodshed rather than who we are now. The clan can't afford to lose another bloodline user, Tsubame. It would be safer if outsiders only saw you as another Tsumi genin, but out clan's features are... distinct."

"Did something happen to Kenta-sensei?" Tsubame asked hesitantly.

"He succumbed to the same fate as all shinobi of the clan. He was slain in battle weeks ago. I believe you were on a mission of your own at the time. But excluding you and I there is only one other bloodline user, too young to even be counted. Is your brother still working himself to death to try and force it to activate?"

Taro, as far as she knew, hadn't been home since even before her mission with Shio. Before Ichiro-sensei visited.

Her sensei took her silence as confirmation and shook her head. "Why he listens to the dissenters who call him undeserving of rising to clan head is beyond me."

"The clan is important to him," Tsubame said quietly.

"And you? Do you still think us important?"

"You're my family."

Her sensei waited, but Tsubame had no other answer for her. "I see now why Ichiro the Feral was banned from here, but that wouldn't really stop outside influences, would it?"

Tsubame didn't have an answer for that, either.

Her sensei frowned and looked away from her. "Let's work on your shurikenjutsu then."

Tsubame winced as she watched a team of Hane genin gamble poorly and fall, she assumed, to their deaths. It felt like they were wasting time by standing around, but admitted to herself that they didn't enough about the land or the mountains to head down without knowing what might be waiting for them. 32 of them would pass, so the exam had to have at least two or three more phases, right?

Shio's teammate's shout made Tsubame question how many of the teams that went ahead would be waiting to ambush them. But wait, did he just... toss her off the cliff? She blinked. Surely this was normal for them. Tsubame politely turned away and back to her own teammates.

"Is that a good idea?" She turned to Okimi as she asked. "It's not just the lightning we have to worry about. Other teams might try and attack us, too. What if they think they can get rid of us and ride Feurey down too?"

Okimi Bajirisuku

“Hahahaha.... HAHAHAHAHA!” Okimi burst into laughter, tears streaming down her face as she watched and heard one lf the Hane squads falling into the depths. “Looks like I may not even get the chance!” Okimi proclaimed, hopefully loud enough for the other genin of that village to hear her.

Her laughter faded as Tsubame spoke to her. Kurio was curious about something as well.

“Don’t worry Tsubame. Only a dumb ninja would risk challenging us when we could easily send them tumbling down these cliffs with one puff! And no one can ride Feurey but me!” Okimi began ranting. “I dare some idiot to mess with us!”

Okimi turned to Kurio. “We don’t got time for sight seeing, come on!” She wasn’t sure what he was trying to go ‘see’. All she wanted was to get moving. More ninja were leaving the starting area as they spoke! Okimi pressed her hand to her chest, and in a puff of hot smoke, Feurey appeared. The green dragon stretched his wings on arrival, and began observing his surroundings. His gaze lingered on the lightning littered sky.

“Don’t worry, we ain’t goin’ up there!” Okimi said to reassure him. “We gotta get to the village. This is the start of the exams! What do we mean what exams! The chuunin exams!” Apparently Feurey’s snorts and grunts were his way of communicating with Okimi. Either that or she was just crazy.

Squad Hayate

As Shibata would open the scroll, a faint purple glow filled the area, and it unrolled the rest of the way on its own.

In the distance, Aito blinked in surprise watching with folded hands, turning away from Waka with interest herself. She didn't seem particularly keen to stop it. From the paper of the scroll, 3 tables could be seen, each with information of Shibata, Ryuuka, and Aya written out, a star graph, and list of missions accomplished. Notes and notes of information could be seen. In the center of the scroll, a crease began to appear, the surface of the paper becoming more three dimensional as lines spread out from it, looking like eye lashes... and then it blinked open, an eye looking at the three, with several lines of information.

(Just the left eye)
The eye went wild staring between the three, jumping side to side repeatedly.

Once it had finished, it blinked close, fading back into the paper. Suddenly, the lines of stats began to change, mostly raising across various fields . The stats, however, had been mostly right beforehand.

All around them, various ninja who hadn't started had been staring... Some began to draw weapons, and smiles upon their faces. {Gm Note: I.e. I'm handing them to KageYuuki to deal with..}

It looked like more than just a 'bye' to collect these scrolls... everyone's weaknesses were on them.

Starting Line Blitz
Kurio watched as Team Hayate started opening their scroll, straining to listen in over the rumble of thunder surrounding them. " . . . . that includes our supposed comrades . . ." Shibata's voice drifted out. The words resounded with something his father had mentioned as he was getting ready to leave, warning him that the exams might pit him against other Tsumi nin. Kurio shifted his gaze to a different team as one of Shibata's teammates moved to make it hard to see their scroll. Though the bright glow couldn't be hidden.

The Arashi team that also dared to open theirs gasped when the scroll shot open, the information on it briefly on display for all to see. The scrolls aren't just a bye. . . He glanced at the one in his hand.

Silence settled over the gathered genin as everyone began putting the pieces together. A particularly bright flash of lightning split the sky. Then chaos erupted. Ninjutsu and tools flying across the starting area. An Arashi nin held out his palm towards a team from Hane, a glowing orb forming in it before erupting in a brilliant flash of light. Chiyome, the genin that had been called on before, fired another beast of lightning from her shakujo.

The three genin that turned towards Team Hayate wasted little time. "Miyu!" One of the genin snapped open a pair of tessen, scattering snowflakes in the air. He opened and closed them seemingly at random before swinging them at Ryuuka, a stream of small birds of ice shot forward. Behind him and Miyu, their third grabbed a brush and opened a blank scroll.

Ice Release: Swallow Snow Storm

Miyu grinned at the Tsumi nin. A grey fox with three tails jumped up on her shoulders as she formed a single handsign and took a breath. She let out an earsplitting shriek, loud enough to leave the ears of anyone in front of her ringing. A genin that was trying to rush team Hayate from behind dropped to his knees with a pained cry, holding his ears. Perhaps enhanced hearing had been a poor choice on their part.

Vixen's Scream

Six white lions tore out from behind the tessen user, charging at various teams. One made a beeline for Shibata and his scroll. It looked more like it belonged in a traditional ink painting than on the battlefield.

Super Beast Imitating Drawing: Tomoe Lion

Kurio's lip twitched in a smile as the chaos began to break loose. Already he could feel what was becoming a familiar rush of adrenaline. “Hey, Okimi,” He kept his voice low, easing back between his teammates. “Wanna raise a little hell before we leave? Let’s see if we can’t take or torch a few scrolls.”

“Now you're speaking my language . . . do we care if our own village gets hurt?”

Recalling Shibata's words, he shook his head. " . . . No.”

“Then get behind me. You too Tsubame!”

Kurio nodded before glancing at Feury. "And burn this," He gestured to the scroll.

Aya

The scroll was opened and Aya's eyes widened as she realized the content of the scrolls. Smaller pupils appeared in her eyes as she glanced simultaneously at the other teams to gauge their reactions. Not good.

"Be prepared." She whispered to her teammates and made a handseal. The chaos erupted immediately, whoever started it was not important as now the starting line became a battle royale arena, everyone vs everyone.

Aya's first priority was to not let their scroll be stolen so when a lion made of ink ran towards Shibata she conjured the clothes lashers from the back of her kimono and attacked the ink lion. The lashers tore through the ink lion but left the tips of the clothes black with ink, Aya frowned when she look at it.

"We should retreat. It's risky, fighting in crowd." She suggested to her teammates.

Shioreta Koino

Shioreta blinked a bit surprised as the one proctor approached seemingly in regards to Waka. She had just thought he was just blurting it out honestly she hadn't expected there to be a reaction from the woman. Given her reaction though she wasn't sure exactly if it was said in a friendly manner or as a way of attacking her verbally. Wakanaka was terrible with women, after all he wasn't very good at treating her and Sachiko in a kind hearted way. It wasn't as if they wronged him or anything as far as she could recall. Nope, clearly it was just him having issues with girls. A bit cute in a way though perhaps a bit unbecoming of someone his age. None the less she ignored it fixating on watching the other teams attempting to get a better hold on the situation.

Speaking of Waka, she turned a bit surprise hearing Wakanaka speaking to her. Shioreta looked a bit confused, not at all having seen Sachiko talking with him at all. She more so was left confused as he spoke. Hold on the chain? What the heck was he going on about? She had been quite simple with what we suggested they do to take their time yet he was speaking as if they were ready to move without her having even given any sign of being ready. Naturally she wasn't at all ready when suddenly he gripped onto her making the girl blink staring rather blankly puzzled as she suddenly taken partial hold on her shoulder before suddenly being tossed like a rag doll right off the cliff.

"Kyaaaaaa!" The only sounds that escaped her lips more so from the sudden surprise more the fact she was just tossed to what seemed like certain death. The genin's hands suddenly lifting as threads extended out from her one hand quickly latching onto the chain taking hold on it. She gave slack not having much choice in the matter as the threads allowed her to fall a bit further the girl cringing a bit as she quickly tried to swing herself about to cushion the impact against the cliff side with the side of her leg. It was far from an idea situation and not at all what she had hoped to find herself doing. I mean what if some other team got the smart idea to take advantage and attack Waka and cause this plan to fail? Oh, and her dying. That was also a close second worry for her.

Her eyes turned trying to get a sight of the scroll, probably a good chance off the splattered remains of what was a genin. The chakra threads extended out from her other hand as she dangled by the others, quite thankful she was actually light weight enough the threads could actually hold her. Even if she had something to hold onto she would of been screwed given how flimsy she was in terms of actual physical strength. She glanced about the threads lowering using her eye sight to best pick out what could be a scroll each thread extending out to grab onto what she could that seemed like a likely candidate to be a scroll. She could check though it wasn't exactly the easiest thing to hang there against the cliff edge feeling as if she had bruised her side and yank the objects up to her to view what each was.

"Um... well I got... stuff.. but I can't really check until I get back up there to safety." She shouted up as loud as she could. She didn't exactly want to be stuck hanging there all day. While she lucked out that her chakra could threads could support her it wasn't as if she had infinite chakra, and it wasn't exactly the most comfortable feeling having each individual finger being pulled on at once by the threads to keep from being a pancake.

As Shioreta nobly left the side of the cliff, dangling down heroically, she would see a net below, as if this exact scenerio had been predicted coming. Around the net, several used scrolls could be seen, symbols similar to Rokuro's earlier teleportation. In the middle of the net, easy to grab, a scroll in the center.

Behind Waka, the earth shattering scream, falling of snow, and a giant lion came. The random battlefield was getting worse.
-----
Sachiko:

Sachiko took an actual defensive stance, pulling out wire as a perimeter around the group as some sort of protection.

"So, Waka, this is looking a little chaotic. Think we should pull back, or... wanna have some fun...?"

Sachiko pulled out one an explosive tag from her hat, and held it so only Waka could see it... before transforming it into a scroll like what they had. She gently rolled it away from them randomly into the crowd.

"Also... think Shio latched on? Cause she had our scroll, and if we just hurled our scroll off the side of the cliff, and killed my best friend, I might think we're not that smart... I mean, not the worst thing to happen today, but, it'd be up there."

Sachiko watched the chaos for a few minutes more. Being close to the cliff was probably a blessing, being close to the edge of the chaos.

"Stairway to Heaven when she's back?"

Sachiko pointed at the screamer who was annoying Team Hayate. Then tilted her head questioningly... before turning the pointing finger at Ryuuka . She smirked evilly and turned to Waka, as if to ask his opinion.

Wakanaka

Wakanaka had his back turned to the whole debacle currently happening atop of this singular peak of stone. From the sounds reaching his ears, he could tell alot of things he truly didn't want to get hit by were happening. Thats why he stayed still, still as a stone statue, slowly focusing on the chain in his hands, and as Sachiko stated, hopefully in the hands of his team mate down below. Thankfully the net was going to catch her either way, Sachiko had to be credited with that discovery, credit where its due and all.

But now the question came up, after a brief display of proper and shockingly well thought-out trickery from the girl, to utilize the team attack. in truth, he had thought up the name for it after the karaoke outing with Ryuuka, so.. When she pointed at the girl for being subjected to it, he somewhat wavered on that point.

"I owe her for karaoke, I say...." Wakanaka eyed the cats before him, seeing the other village ninja all around. In his portion of the act, hes probably not going to use the slicing edge, he'd rather not have the death of another village's nin be on him. His conscience says that'd be too much to bother with and probably would... Really make his Kage go through alot of work to smooth it over...

A merciful slab of iron it will be.

"...We crush the lightning in it's own territory..." Wakanaka states as he pulls up the chains quickly, grabing hold of Shio and gently putting her back onto her feet. "Well done Shio, you thought quickly." he states with a simply pat on the girl's head, pleased it all worked out.

He stepped back from her and eyed an Inoichi genin rushing at them katana drawn. Wakanaka looked down, then back up, he quickly stomped on the stone, cracking it a tad, then putting his front toes under the stone he partially unearthed kicked upwards, sending a large slab of rock at the incoming nin. The rock collided with the ninja going full tilt, sending him reeling backwards in a daze.

"Could just destabilize the whole thing..." he tapped his foot on the ground. "Lots of pillars to go around."

Ryuuka Tagamatsu
"Alright so that was not ideal," Ryuuka said quickly, as the scroll unfurled itself and began attracting unwanted attention "But in fairness-" Whatever Ryuuka was about to add to that was cut off by the piercing scream of the girl with the grey fox. Ryuuka winced and covered her ears, adroitly using her elbows and legs to kick the icy birds that flew towards her out of the air with confident, parrying strikes.

"WELL THIS SUCKS," Ryuuka said, now totally oblivious to the volume of her own voice due to the ringing in her ears "AYA'S RIGHT, LET'S BOUNCE!" Ryuuka said, taking off at a sprint towards the edge of the pillar. Ryuuka had apparently meant this last suggestion literally for as she leaped off the edge of the starting pillar she hit the next one and ricocheted off it in the manner some of the other taijutsu specialists had been using, although Ryuuka had put her own twist on it. If the chakra repelling properties of the pillars made the tree climbing jutsu impossible then the opposite approach should be even more effective. As Ryuuka flew through the air she gathered chakra in her feet, expelling it just as she hit the pillars and launched herself further along so that the forcefully repelled chakra launched her up and forwards at even greater speeds...At least, theoretically.

Shibata Yamamoto
Realising just what the scroll's contents were Shibata hurriedly tried to close it but found the paper had stiffened and the eye protruding from it gave him a pissy look before it faded away finally allowing him to roll it back up. Momentarily considering cutting the scroll to pieces before it could tattle on him he instead formed a small crystal and shoved the scroll inside, if anyone else got a hold of it they would have to risk damaging the scroll when trying to break the crystal. While he was squirrelling away the scroll a piercing screech knocked him off balance, fortunately his teammates were able to fend off a pair of follow up attacks. "Good work." He nodded at Aya.

Seeing Ryuuka make a dash for the pillar obstacle course he made a futile grab at her jacket. "No, wait!" He called after her then placed a hand on Aya's shoulder to keep her from following. "We need to...get out of the open." He pointed towards the path Waka's supposed aunt had approached from. "If we take the pillars we'll be easy targets and get stuck between this lot and the teams that already left that way." Leading the way he waved to Ryuuka. "Come on! This way!" Hopefully the other teams would feel less inclined to pursue them if they abandoned the indicated route.

Tsubame Mochizuki
Tsubame hadn't been looking, but the brightness of the scroll from the other Tsumi nin seemed to draw the attention of everyone still in the area. The purple eye that appeared in the middle surprised her, alarm bells ringing in her head. She was certain it belonged to Saemonsaburou, though he probably wasn't too fond of her after she and Shio thought the worst of him. There was also that Shio threatened him. Twice. Listening to Okimi and Kurio suggest joining the chaos in front of them, Tsubame thought her teammates might be a bit insane. She expected the suggestion from Okimi, but Kurio had seemed more level-headed. Apparently not.

She stepped behind Okimi because she very much did not want to be caught up in whatever was about to happen. "It might be better to avoid a battle and let the other teams tire each other out. It would make stealing scrolls easier," she suggested. "And we shouldn't open any of them, not matter who we steal them from. That eye was from Gunshu's card marker. If it looks at you, it'll have all your combat information. He already has mine." The 'how' and 'why' the ability was able to work inside a scroll didn't matter as much as trying to help keep her teammates abilities as unknown as possible.

Okimi Bajirisuku

The scroll fell from Feurey's mouth in ashes. Now, OKimi Tsubame, and Kurio's information was destroyed. There information was safe. As for the other participants, they were far from safe. The heat building in Okimi's mouth would make sure of that.

Planting her feet, and feeling the burning sensation in her mouth once again, Okimi fired a super hot beam of flames forwards. The beam blasted to the left of everyone, but Okimi turned her head. The beam cut through the group of genin fighting in the starting area, before cutting into the stone pillars that were to be used as platforms for everyone. While it would no doubt be easy for everyone to see the beam coming before it hit them, it wouldn't be easy to stay in one piece if the beam actually hit them. While Okimi would appreciate the amount of genin to be lowered, she didn't necessarily want to harm any of the genin from her own village. It wouldn't be a good look for her.

After striking the stone pillars, the beam fizzled out. Okimi slouched forward and let out a ragged hot breath. Her tongue was gonna be burnt for awhile again.

"Go get some scrolls!" Okimi grumbled whether her squadmates had already done so or not. While normally Okimi would be concerned about this vulnerable state she was in, trying to recover from that jutsu, she knew Feurey had her back in case someone tried to approach her recklessly. Fortunately, Okimi didn't use up all of her chakra. She'd be able to help her team in a moment.

A red scorching beam passed over the area even as fights began to erupt in the chaos. A few of the genin, too busy with other duels, missed the incoming destruction, the passing beam instantly charring them, and at the very least knocking them out of the area. Scroll dropped in the area, almost littering it from the ultimate attack from Okimi.

As it passsed over AIto, she flicked her arm forward, and her wings of blades formed a shield infront of her as the dragonfire barraged them, turning them a slight orange glow. And then it passed by in its continued rampage. Aito flicked the wings off, and then threw a few charms at down genin. In a poof they were gone, removed from the exam, and the area. The happy go lucky ranger didn't say anything, showing little reaction, though a small look of surprised crossed her face.

This much chaos definitely hadn't been planned.

The flames bounced uselessly off the columns of rock however, the chakra visibly deflected.

Around a few more genin tried gathering scrolls. A few opened them to see info on the teams they had just defeated, or of teams that had just dropped them. A few of them were met with a surprise paper bomb instead as insane laughter could be heard from the direction of Team Miho.

The chaos 'encouraged' a few more teams to leave the area. Straight past Okimi, a team of Hane nin flew by on their summons, a giant moth, eagle, and bat flying past with little issue. They nervously looked at the flamebringer, and the question 'do we attack' came by them... but they decided to fly faster instead.

The team Ryuuka had been chatting with before from Nendogakure gulped, and then made a few hand signals to eachother. They nodded in agreement, before all three making handsigns... and ejecting themselves via a cannonball of rock out of the area, and into the distant rock column arena.

One jumped off, landing ontop of a column near Ryuuka, while the other three continued outwards into the mist. The genin wore a wide brimmed galan hat, with his village symbol on it, and a large brown trenchcoat, complete with boots and spurs. He tipped his hat at her.

"What do ya say to a little competition, funny girl? There's enough chaos for my liking, and I could use some more friendly competition here. They say clothes really make the man, and I'm feeling really fine. Ya think ya can be faster than Ken, the handsome?"

A breaking in the clouds above occurred, forming a column of light over Ken, making him sparkle, and smile at the effects.

Wakanaka

The lazer, wasn't fully expected, hell not many would expect somebody to put out the largest attack from the get go. For Waka, his defence was his sword, angling it right, he was able to brute force his way through the flesh searing beam with a now freshly heated slab of metal. And his defence may has protected a still recovering puppeteer behind him.

He owed her that much.

"Okimi! Good show! But would rather not have a repeat of the Yuukionna fight, even if we still kicked her ass." He shouted over the area, planting the tip of his blade into the stone as He... Noticed Sachiko had dissappeared? Well, not like it didn't happen often, he just wished he knew where she was-

The sound of several explosions rocked the area as genin were blasted to and fro from fake scrolls and their devious payload.

Ah.

Shes being productive!

Hearing something coming from an explosion, Waka rose his hand to grasp it... Well, more like it hit him in the chest and he fumbled with one hand to grab it. He eyed the scroll, trying to figure if its one of their fake ones, looked at Sachiko and tossed it to her.

"Call it your win, i'll keep standing her looking intimidating while we figure out our next move... Should we go straight for the thunderstorm? The scroll guy mentioned the village sits where they are.

Maybe.. follow one of the other teams trails...?" Waka notes, still looking forwards and shooting glares at enemy squads who are sizing them, mostly him, up.

"...Starting to get nervous being looked at... Can't tell if their checking me out in the ninja fashion or not..." he'd smirk, if he wasn't worried.

Shioreta Koino

Shioreta felt herself being pulled up a sense of relief as she found her way back up with her fishing attempt quite fruitful. Thank goodness her chakra threads were able to support her, she figured the net would of likely counted as being 'downed' after all and the last thing she wanted to happen was being knocked out early in such a dull way. Her expectations of how far she could go was low, but those expectations at least involved a rather gruesome and interesting fate. She rather her end at least be more interesting... perhaps with dragging her teammates down with her in an explosion or other painful way. Huh... maybe Waka is rubbing off on me a little too?

Shio let out a soft sigh of relief as she released her chakra threads being on the ground. Her fingers felt a bit stressed as she fidgeted with them on her hand she had used to keep herself from falling into the net. It felt like her hand had been stretched out in the ordeal. She was a bit surprised as she was helped pulled her onto her feet. She looked up as Waka patted her on the head more so being just straight confused then anything. A light smile on her lips in response looking at him. Perhaps I could tinker my idea for 'that' sort of team attack to involve him not being cut in two with the opponent. I mean it was more a last resort but still, could put a little more thought into it...

The laser beam wasn't quite what she expected to happen though it seemed Waka was ready blocking the beam with his weapon allowing her the chance to not have to worry about trying to scurry away and avoid being partially roasted in a 'well-done' manner. Shioreta stood up fully brushing herself off as she glanced around eyeing up the scene around her. It seemed waiting around wasn't going to be as good as she had hoped... not just given her teammates actions but that of some of the other competitors. She had hoped for more time to observe trying to get a handle on everything.

"At the very least it seems our greatest hurdle would be the time limit... at least in terms of us not needing to worry as much about all the spots being filled before we arrive." She commented quite casually with Sachiko seeming to help ease any concerns she had. Her eyes glancing out continuing to observe not being as mindful of any others looking upon them. The pillars were chakra repelling but given ninja trained there it was possible that you could still climb up, though that solution seemed not quite so viable. Even if she managed to do so given her Chakra control, chances were it wouldn't be so easy for her teammates. Climbing up top seemed quite risky as well. It was possible some sort of pattern or methodology existed in which to wander safely on top of the pillars though one required observation and another special tools they didn't likely possess on them. Both quite risky given their lack of knowledge.

"Well... if you really want to push ahead we can try and follow the trail of someone else... though its possible depending how frantic they are they might set up traps along the way. Given the net down there they expected plenty to fall down along the way. Though... given they took that safety precaution... its a bit surprising they seem fine with Genin traveling about where the Lightning strikes up top. I wonder if its as dangerous as they claim." She spoke her voice not at all attempting to be quiet given it seemed their conversation wasn't exactly intended to be very 'on the down low' to start with. It wouldn't hurt if an enemy team heard her postulating and decided to go check up on the pillars for her to see after all and be used as Guinee pigs.

"Suppose we could just stay here and relax a bit longer. Seems people keep falling and randomly exploding and all. As long as we don't go fishing. Not sure I like it so much." She spoke with a bit of a care free shrug letting out a light yawn and stretching as she glanced over watching the mayhem and getting a better feel for their surroundings.

Aya

Aya ducked to avoid the searing beam, she lay on her stomach and kept herself as close to the ground as possible. Not the most ninja way of avoiding attack but she didn't want to take risk of her clothes getting charred. When she stood up she had dirt all over her front but she didn't seems to mind it and scanned the battlefield for her next action. It was even more chaotic now. Genins fight over dropped scroll and someone planted a few fake ones. Ryuuka went ahead but Shibata wants them to head back. Now, what did Aya wants?? Shibata's right about the risk, but going back won't give them anything other than temporary safety...

"Shibata, go hide. I will distract." She said to Shibata before heading back to the battlefield. Her spiders went into frenzy as she whispered some requests to them. Aya did some hand seals before her clothes bloated, turning her into a big silk ball.

Silk release: Silk round up!

The silk ball Aya spun on the spot for a brief moment before jumping at full speed into the battlefield. Her target? Not the genins, but the scrolls scattered on the ground. She steamrolled all the scrolls she could spot, making those scrolls stuck on her clothes before she finally stopped at the edge of the cliffs. Now back to her normal form, Aya hold a few scrolls on her hands. She crumpled all the scroll in a bundle of silk then she casted the bundle down into the cliff below. It disappeared into the dark.

Or not, Aya actually tied the bundle with a very thin but strong thread. Somewhere deep dark below the bundle of scrolls was dangling safely. Ready to be retrieved later. If the number of scrolls here was reduced she thought the genins would be forced to chase those hane nins ahead.

InsaneAsylum InsaneAsylum Attempted to screw over

Sachiko seemed to dance as the explosions and fighting delighted her, barely on her toes as she jumped up and down, her eyes scanning from one section of the map to the other, a few handsigns as they kept changing colors, between yellow, red, purple, orange. Sachiko was trying her best not to engage in any combat, and made a few yelps as kunai dove by her... always missing within inches. A few cut across her sleeves they were so close, though none touched her skin.

Two of the genin seemed to cause a pretty big upset. Sachiko's eyes nearly went blinded as an intense flame swept through the area like a laser. With honed intinct... she dived behind Waka and Shio. One of the two probably had an answer! And if they didn't, there would be two bodies to block those flames way. Holding onto Shio's shoulder, she looked up, blinking as her eyes cleared. Seeing that in infrared was not the best move... She'd stick to her regular vision for a bit.

"Is it over bestie?"

A scroll from Waka suddenly bonked Sachiko in the head, still blinded from infrared. She picked it up, blinking as blurs came back into focus, picking up the scroll.

Shio presented an idea that Sachiko approved of, baiting the other teams ontop of the pillars to see if lightning would strike. Sachiko nodded at the rest.

"Most teams are either going to be gone, or out of chakra by the time they get there. Especially with an fight like this."

Sachiko looked over with the blurry view over the destruction caused, a red line over some of the natural non chakra repelling kind, with several ninja disqualified from one move. Her eyes focused on the one who had caused it. Okimi...

Okimi was near out of chakra from that stunt. Sachiko gulped, imagining fighting that in a one on one. Sachiko was all for losing, but what if Waka or Shio had to fight that?

Sachiko picked up a single kunai. She had to take care of that now. Sachiko shook her head, her vision still a bit out of wack, but good enough for a single throw. She didn't need precision for this anyways...

She took a grounded stance, both feet wide, and her arm in a throwing position. She took a deep breath as her arm drew back. Focusing completely on the green blur. Her foot slid backwards as she braced herself, and she exhaled.

A single kunai flew as a black and red streak straight at Fuery's left wing, with intense speed, the streak almost disappearing like a bullet as it flew through the air.

Lucky: 777 Jackpot

Sachiko rubbed her shoulder.

"Anyone else hate that feeling when they throw something superhard that their arm's about to tear off...? "

A rumbling could be heard behind Sachiko, with the genin turning just in time to see the world's largest ball of silk roll off the cliff with most of the scrolls in the area.

"Hey! That was our fun! And there goes all my decoys!"

Sachiko cracked her neck, stumbling slightly.

"Hey, Waka, Shio, stick with me for a sec! We're going to disappear for a second, and then relax."

Sachiko threw a smoke bomb on the ground, before yanking the two against a rock, and pulling up a sheet of cloth.

Cloak of Invisibility

The team would seem to disappear into the chaos, without actually leaving the area. Sachiko then whispered. "I'm near out of tools... but Shio, you should be able to have fun with your toys from here while we're 'gone'."

Okimi Bajirisuku

A pained squeal mixed with a roar erupted from Feurey's mouth as a kunai sliced through the lower webbing of Feurey's wing. The dragon quickly released a spout of fire at the are around him out of reflex. Okimi turned to him. "Curl up you idiot so shit like that doesn't happen!" Okimi scolded the dragon as she turned to examine the wound. While Feurey's wings weren't entirely a weak spot, the bottoms of them were. Little to no scales covered his wings there, so it'd be far easier to cut through. Luckily for Feurey he'd still be able to fly. Not as well or for as long, but still capable. Okimi noticed this and patted him. "You'll be ok... just pay attention!"

Okimi took in a deep inhale. She could fight again, if needed. However, she and her squad would need to leave soon. She just needed to locate Kurio and Tsubame so she and Feurey could give them a good way to escape the carnage. Okimi squinted her eyes. The area was in chaos. Maybe firing that beam wasn't a great idea.

Ryuuka Tagamatsu
"Oh jeez normally I would love to," Ryuuka said to Ken as she landed on the pillar next to him. "Buuut it looks like my team are um, going in the opposite direction, so I think I'mma have to take a raincheck," Ryuuka said apologetically, having felt Shibata grab at her jacket and turned her gaze at some point to see her teammates going back down the mountain path. As she spoke Ryuuka crouched down, gathering chakra in her legs. "I'm just gonna take a look around before I head back so I'll see you later, you have got to tell me what moisturizer you use by the way, your skin looks fantastic," With that Ryuuka was gone, having launched herself upwards as powerfully as possible.

Once airborne Ryuuka threw a kunai further upwards with the vague notion that it might attract any ornery lightning bolts away from her for the few seconds she was up high enough to be a target for them. With that taken care Ryuuka flipped around and began scouting out the surrounding terrain. Mostly what Ryuuka was lightning, she vaguely remembered the old dude from earlier mentioning that people who wanted to leave should head away from the village, so the opposite must be true: if they wanted to go to the village then they just had t go wherever the lightning was thickest.

Some seconds later Ryuuka was content with the results of her scouting and now had to see herself to a safe landing. Rather than waste time landing back on top of the pillar and working her way back down Ryuuka figured she'd take a shortcut and just aim to fall on top of her teammates, Aya could do some kind of bouncy silk safety net right? Right, totally. WIth that in mind Ryuuka wriggled out of her jacket and held it over her head like a small parachute. The jacket wouldn't be enough to stop Ryuuka going splat by itself but it would convert some of her downwards momentum into forwards momentum, allowing Ryuuka to angle her trajectory towards her teammates.

Tsubame Mochizuki
Tsubame moved in front of Okimi and Feurey, putting herself in the way as a human shield in case someone else decided to throw something at them. Feurey could probably protect Okimi just fine, but still. This was what she could do to help her exhausted teammate. The beam Okimi shot at everyone made things explode-y, or it inspired someone to cause more explosions. Either way, Tsubame wasn’t eager to accidentally pick up a fake scroll mixed in with the real ones. She hardened her arms, watched the chaos, and saw Aya, throwing scrolls over the side in silk.

Tsubame turned back to Okimi. “We can get them, right? With Feurey?” They wouldn’t have to jump in the middle of the battlefield and hope not to explode, and, even if others tried to scale the wall to look for them, they would make themselves vulnerable. “Or I can go down and you two can take Feurey.” She would be fine on her own. Probably. And Okimi should take the chance to recover
